Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has taken to his Instagram to post a touching black and white photograph tribute to his dad who passed away at the age of 79 after battling ill health for months.
Jose Manuel Mourinho Felix had a distinguished playing career as a goalkeeper making more than 250 appearances for Belenenses and Vitoria Setubal as well as one cap for Portugal.
Belenenses also paid tribute to their former player,
He wrote:
“Belenenses presents all the solidarity and offers heartfelt condolences to the families of Felix Mourinho, father of coach Jose Mourinho.”
The deceased battled ill health since the turn of this year, with Jose flying back to Portugal last season to see him.
He was in and out of hospital during his son’s second stint at Chelsea and was rushed into care with pneumonia last June.
The funeral is expected to take place tomorrow and fans were quick to offer a grieving Jose Mourinho messages of support.
“RIP to your father, May God be with you and your family Jose. We love you. Once a blue always a blue,”.
