Three weeks after she was fazed with heavy backlash and criticisms from Nigerian netizens, popular Twitter influencer, Omotara Akanni has made a video of herself apologizing for an insensitive video featuring her, which made its way to the internet.
Three weeks ago, a video which captured the moment Motara teased a child beggar with a bottle of drink made its way online and she received heavy backlash over the video and not only lost her Twitter account but also lost some endorsement deals.
In the video, the influencer was driving in traffic when a child beggar approached her car to beg. In response, Motara asked the little girl if she wants a drink and she answered in an affirmative manner. Read Here ICYMI
Following the damages the video caused her, she’s now taken to her new Twitter page to share a video of herself tendering an apology in three different languages, English, Yoruba and Hausa.
Sharing the video, she thanks people for correcting her and checking on her mental health and promised to become a better version of herself, to be more kind and compassionate.
She wrote alongside the video,
It’s been long weeks of lessons for me. I made a terrible mistake and I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I promise to be a better version of myself and be more kind and compassionate. Thank yall for the corrections”
