While social media was awash with heartwarming birthday wishes for Funke Akindele as she clocked 39 on Wednesday, August 24, one person that seems to have missed – or ignored – her one-time frequent collaborator’s big day is Eniola Badmus.
Colleagues, fans and well wishers showered Funke with loving messages, but it is worth noting that Eniola, who got her big break in Funke’s hit movie, Jenifa, didn’t do any of such – either on Instagram or Twitter.
In fact, she only had three tweets on the day, with one being a birthday shout-out (not to Funke), while she refrained from posting any pictures on her Instagram.
However, there is no compulsion in sending birthday wishes to Funke on social media, as the plump actress could have other ways of reaching out, even as she maintains a huge social media presence and activeness.
In an attempt to clear the air on reports of animosity between the duo, Eniola said in an interview with City People over a year ago,
‘the rumour that I and Funke Akindele are in a serious cold war is not true. I can never engage in a fight with her because she is a strong pillar behind me in the industry. She brought me into the industry, and I have featured in so many movies through her before my name got registered in people’s minds. So, why should I be fighting with her?’
The last time both Nollywood actresses were seen in public together was almost two years ago and there is huge doubt all is still rosy between the duo.
