Bishop. David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church worldwide AKA Winners Chapel, has reportedly appealed to those criticising the school fees charged by Covenant University to desist from it so to avoid incurring the wrath of God.
Oyedepo, in a telecast to a pre-Shiloh 2016 Convention gathering of the church monitored via satellite in Jos on Saturday, said the critics were acting in ignorance and risked incurring the wrath of God.
He said one of such critic was smitten with a strange plague of chronic mouth odour over the act. He only received spiritual pardon following his confession and “my intervention before he was restored to dignity”.
The Guardian reports Oyedepo said the issue of school fees paid by students of the university was a godly agenda to meet the demands of raising godly children in an environment conducive for learning.
He said such criticisms were products of ignorance as what students pay could not be compared with what obtained elsewhere that lacked facilities.
“The school fees has God’s approval and is in accordance with the quality of facilities provided by the university in meeting the educational needs of the nation,” he said.
He said the church in its pioneering role in pushing the frontiers of education with excellence had concluded plans to establish offshore universities.
The cleric said a fully automated Bible press by the church had been completed and would be launched soon.
Oyedepo, however, quoting from some verses of the Bible, which include Matthew 24:6-8, 1Peter 2:9, Joel 2:2 and Mal. 4:1, said the current economic meltdown was predicted but that committed Christians would be exempted.
He prayed for resources for parents to always meet the demands of the time and declared the theme of this year’s Shiloh holding between Dec. 6 and Dec. 10 as “My Case is Different”.
The bishop said this year’s annual event of Shiloh would not be advertised as past events as it would be church based.

This is a school built with the sweat of the members. I’m a member but that doesn’t mean that I support him always. I don’t even like mos of the things that happen in the church. There many schools these days where school fees vary. If I were to suggest, the amount the wealthy pay should not and can not be the amount the poor should pay, a percentage should be deducted with regards to the earnings of the sponsors of the student. This system is done everywhere in the world, after-all the number one reason why God has blessed us and will continue to bless us is so that his gladness will spread across to all nations, so that through us others can be blessed, and that’s where the church and most of we believers have gotten it wrong. This isn’t a private university, it’s a Christian University which more than 70% of the funds it was built with came from the church members. If truly, he made the statement “God’s wrath will be on us if we criticize.” I’ll be so disappointing in him and members who believe him cause right believing yields right living vice versa, we shouldn’t believe this because we have or we can have( If we’ve not had it yet) the same power and authority he may have in Christ now. In conclusion, I’d say that it’s so embarrassing that in a Christian society as big and highly respected as this, humility is not considered a virtue of high regard cause that’s one trait a leader should portray.

Today is the same, covenant university charges as much as 799k naira per course, with about 4,000 usd for accommodation and other payments. Central university takes above 2,000 usd per course, valley view university takes close to 3,000 usd, I coach a football team, and was told to pay for a field inside Christian college, and the parks at the madina mosque is free for all , in the community where the kids I train also lives, these are facilities built with church money, and you tell me you look like Christ?
