”What’s the point ?” – Singer Simi questions the essence of formal education when people rarely use what they were taught in school

Nigerian singer and mother-of-one, Simi, recently took to her social media page to seemingly question the importance of schooling.

The singer asked why getting a formal education is still important when people mostly forget what they were taught in school and “end up doing something else with their lives.”

In her words ;

Educational system is so sh**. Most of us can’t even remember most of what we were taught in all the many years we spent in school.

People have potential and talent not tapped into ”because it is not prestigious enought”.

Then they spend years ”learning” something they don’t care about, forget everything right afterr and end up doing something else with their lives.

What’s the point then ? Who did this to us ?
