A viral video has captured the moment an estranged wife and her husband’s mistress got into a verbal fight in the Isheri DPO’s office.
According the reports, the wife identified as Katherine Daramola, aged 57 and a US-based lawyer, accused her husband of abandoning her and their 4 kids in America and living with his mistress in her house in Nigeria.
The aggrieved woman accused her husband of conniving with his mistress to take over their jointly-owned property – a twin duplex – situated in the Magodo area of Lagos state.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Premium Times, Mrs Daramola revealed that her husband relocated to Nigeria in 2010 to resume a job with Lagos Inland Revenue Service (LIRS).
She said they had earlier bought plots of land in Magodo where built the duplex. She added that she contributed 75% of the total cost spent on building the house and acquiring furniture.
Unknown to her, her husband and his mistress moved into the house after its completion and furnishing, while she and the kids were in the United states, she alleged.
She said she visited Nigeria in May 2019 unannounced only to find female items all over their home. On confronting her husband, he denied knowing the owner of the items.
When she was close to retirement, she decided to return to the house only to discover that the locks and padlocks has been changed by her husband’s mistress.
She said she hired a lawyer and began filing legal notices against them, but they continued to deny her access to the house.
On Sunday, January 9th (2021), she and her children finally arrived Nigeria and they had to break the locks and padlocks to gain entry into the house and found items belonging to her husband’s side chick around the house.
They piled up the items and kept it at the gate. When they heard the situation of things, her husband and his mistress called the police and the Isheri DPO invited all of us.
This was the premise of the argument that ensued in the DPO’s office. Mrs Daramola, however, has categorically stated that her husband must give her her property because she spent her whole live savings, over $53,000 furnishing the house.
