As congratulations continue to pour in for popular gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, who recently announced her engagement to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa of Waterbrook Church, Lekki, Lagos, Nigerians have dug up an old video of her fiancé describing her as a sister to him.
The songstress took to her Instagram page to announce news of her engagement to the clergyman on Thursday afternoon, June 23.
Mercy Chinwo shared photos with her husband-to-be and captioned them,
“I am blessed to be blessed with @theofficialblessed ❤️ The thoughts of doing the next phase and the rest phase of my life with you makes the blessing more real💃 I love you Sweet❤️”
However, shortly after the announcement, an old video of the clergyman hailing Mercy’s unique talents, resiliency, and hard work during a sermon surfaced, with many suggesting that this was the genesis of their love story.
In the video, Pastor Blessed also stated that Mercy Chinwo is like a sister to him.

As congratulatory messages and warm wishes poured in, the nightlife king decided to join in, however, doing so by leaving a rather naughty remark.
“Congrats, so you dey like that thing”
His comment immediately elicited a myriad of replies from users, most of them demanding to know what “the thing” is.
