Popular Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has spoken out about the 2021 leaked intimate video of her that went viral online.
Speaking at a recent podcast segment, the singer reflected on how the scandal affected her personal and professional life.
She explained that she had no idea she was being recorded, and her boyfriend at the time claimed that he accidentally hit ‘send’ while trying to save the clip to show her later.
However, she later found out that he had made a bet with his friend.
Reflecting on the incident, Tiwa revealed that what hurt her more was when people brought her son into it, talking about how unfit she is to be a mum.
She also added that the experience has shaped how she navigates personal relationships.
She said;
“Many people thought that because I wasn’t relevant anymore, I did it for publicity. If I wanted to do it for real, it would have been completely different. I didn’t know it was been recorded, and the person was my boyfriend at the time. He said he wanted to save it on Snapchat, but accidentally pressed send. I later found out that he had a bet with his friends.
They brought my son into it, and were talking about how I would be an unfit mum, all this hurt me more than the video.
Now I don’t visit people in hotels, and I don’t bring men around my son. If you want to see me, you can come to my house, or I can book a hotel.”
