A Nigerian man has turned heads as he pays his wife’s bride price after 36 years of being together.
The video showed the woman dancing after picking an item from her dowry, which was positioned at the center of the dance floor. The couple was seen in the same colour of outfit.
In the overlay text, the couple has been living together as Daddy and Mummy since the man hasn’t exercised the traditional marital rites to call the woman his wife. However, the man took a bold step of paying the woman’s bride price after 36 years of living together.
Another clip showed the man putting a ring on his wife’s finger, showing that they were legally married according to their tradition.
The video has garnered different reactions. While many flocked to the comment section to congratulate the couple, others alleged that the couple’s children were about to get married, and the man is not allowed to receive his child’s bride price unless he pays his wife’s bride price.
