The popular “complete the lyrics” interviewer shared how the Nigerian Police came to her aid after a man confronted her for shooting on the streets of Lagos.
According to her, she had just concluded a street interview when she overheard a man asking if she was m@d and suspend their shoot. He confronted her team to leave the said environment to her father’s house, with a threat to slap a guy that was part of her team. At first she suspected that he was one of those Lagos boys who ask for money, but from his fronting she concluded that he wasn’t stable. She made an attempted to interview another respondent but he came in and disrupted the interview.
They got tired of his constant obstruction and decided they would change a location, but he followed behind and picked up a f!ght with one of her crew members. While she tried to contain their scuffle, the police van enters and immediately the man took to his heels. She explained what had happened and they told her to go ahead with her shoot. But according to her, she was no longer in that state of mind anymore. Hearing this police chased down the man and threw him behind their van. Whist being shoved into the van, he kept swearing, that he propelled the police officers to use force.
She thanked the police officers and confessed that this is one of the rare moments where she had witnessed the police officers coming to one’s aid without being involved officially. Concluding that she would not stop doing what she does as she knew it is part of the work.
