Nigerian reality TV star Kiddwaya stirred controversy on X (Twitter) after making a bold political claim amid ongoing national tension.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate had earlier taken to the platform to express excitement about the forthcoming detty December, but his post was met with backlash from users who felt it was insensitive given the country’s current climate.
Critics urged him to read the room, pointing to the recent abduction of 20 female students in Kebbi State and the attack on a CAC church by bandits.
Rather than respond with an apology, Kiddwaya fired off a new tweet that escalated the conversation. “I’d run for governor and still win. Is this not Nigeria,” he wrote.
The comment quickly drew even more backlash, with many users accusing him of trivializing both the political process and the nation’s insecurity.
Others criticized the statement as tone-deaf and provocative, especially at a time when Nigerians are grappling with rising concerns over safety and governance.
