The veteran gospel filmmaker and evangelist Mike Bamiloye has come to the defense of Pastor E. A. Adebyefollowing the tithing controversy.
Recall that earlier, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God had made an apology to the members of his church regarding his past messages on the relevance of tithing within the church. He had clarified in a Televised sermon that Tithes were not a prerequisite to entering the kingdom of God.
He then said in the same sermon that tithing was still extremely important to a Christian and only beginners should pay 10% as their tithes for others they should go even further, spending more than 20%.
This apology went viral, leading to strong reactions online. Evangelist Mike Bamiloye has now come to clarify and defend Pasto Adeboye’s statements.
In a scathing Instagram post, the evangelist admonished people for only focusing on the first part of the apology and completely neglecting the later half of the sermon.
He defended the pastor saying that it was God who had corrected him and it took a lot of humility to admit his wrongs to the entire world. He then went on to emphasize the importance of tithing as Christians.

The Lagos territorial office of the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) has announced that they have been able to receive 180 Nigerians who were formerly stranded in Libya.

“67 females, 55 males, 45 children, and 16 infants”

“The returnees arrived at about 1930hours aboard charter flight, Al-Buraq airline with registration no: 5A-DMG with 180 returnees on board. They comprised: 67 adult females, 55 adult males, 24 female children, 18 male children and 16 infants.”
“The returnees were taken through biometric profiling by Nigerian Immigration Service while other humanitarian supports were provided by other agencies of government. This was to ensure they were well received and had basic items to meet their immediate needs.”

After a series of provocative statements and posts from Nigerian singer Wizkid towards his rival Davido, the latter has finally responded.
Recall that earlier this week, Nigerian artist, Wizkid had made several posts repeatedly calling out his colleague Davido.
Although he never made any direct statements, as inferred from his words, he repeatedly mocked Davido based on his music and marriage.
Unlike their usual banter and back and forth, this time Davido kept his silence refusing to acknowledge the other.
Now he has seemingly responded to the shade thrown at him by Wizkid by still not acknowledging him. He recently made an Instagram post breaking his radio silence, but contrary to expectations, the post had nothing to do with Wizkid.
He wrote;

Recording on TikTok, a passerby @kenny__2098 captured the overloaded truck swaying back and forth on the road as the driver struggled to maintain control and prevent an accident.
The overloaded truck carrying bamboo poles sways precariously as it navigates the residential road, causing children to scatter in its path.
Netizens have claimed that many drivers frequently overload trucks to avoid making two trips and to save costs.
While some opined the driver attempted to save fuel, others marveled at his reaction after it caused a road accident.

A mother-son reunion has tugged at the heartstrings of netizens, as the little boy struggled to recognize his own mother.
The mother of the little boy, @veragold7 posted a video of herself finally reuniting with her son after 8 long years.
The child who is only 10-years-old was unable to recognize his mother, as he would have been only 2 years old when they had initially separated.
As seen in the video, he looked visibly confused as he struggled to recognize the woman hugging him, and calling herself his mother.
The lady however was not discouraged by his reaction and continued to beam with joy while holding him close to her, as if she would never let him go again. She expressed her sentiments in the caption of the video which stated;

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye has apologized for a prior statement he made about the importance of giving tithes to the church.
The pastor of RCCG had spoken to his members in a televised about the importance of tithing, which has now gone viral on X (Twitter).
In the sermon he said,
“I want to be apologising for making a mistake, for saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven. Sorry, that’s wrong,”,
This drew varying reactions from his congregation, who were startled by the apology.
He went on to clarify that tithing as a prerequisite to making heaven was stated nowhere in the bible, he said;
“That’s not in the bible. What the bible says is ‘Be at peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.'”
He explained that it was necessary to correct oneself, as there have been many times we assumed something in the past that later turns out to be wrong as time passes. He explained, as one grows and learns, he/she can discover he has made mistakes in the past. uUsing the movement of light as an example, he stated;
“it’s possible to be right and wrong at the same time.”
“For years, we thought that light travels in straight line. Now, is that correct?… But later on we discovered it’s not straight as a rod, light travels in waves.”
He did clarify that despite his admission to being wrong about tithing as a prerequisite to making heaven, it was still necessary that Christians pay their tithes, even stating that only beginners should give 10 percent, more seasoned members should give more than that.
“It is wrong to limit you to ten percent.”
“Ten percent should be for beginners,” he added, saying some people should be paying “20 percent, 30 percent.”, he explained.
