Man shares his excitement after entering keke with free WiFi in Port Harcourt (Photo)

A gentleman identified as Jackson Green recently took to his Twitter page to share how excited he got after he boarded a keke-bus in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to him, he boarded the commercial tricycle only to see that there was provision of free WiFi for passengers to use throughout the duration of their trip.

The gentleman who described his time in the keke bus as the best 10 minutes of his ride in Port Harcourt, shared photo of the sign on the vehicle notifying passengers of the availability of free data network.

”HAD THE BEST 10 MINUTES OF MY RIDE IN PORT HARCOURT TODAY WITH THIS KEKE-BUS MAN INNOVATION,” Jackson captioned his post.

On the cardboard sign in the bus was the inscription;

”ENJOY FREE WIFI IN THIS BUS AS WE RIDE.

Nigerian lady lands in EFCC’s net shortly after slaying on Facebook (Photos)

A Nigerian lady has had tongues wagging over her on social media after she was nabbed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the same day she shared some slaying photos on her Facebook page.

Sassie Dira on Facebook, whose real name we’ll later find out to be Okiemute Deborah, on worker’s day stepped out looking fabulous and made sure to show off her look to her Facebook friends.

Her caption for the photos had people talking as well… She wrote alongside the photos,

First day of the month looking absolutely stunning as usual, fake life at its peak but don’t borrow clothing to show off😂😂 fully focused for the kingdom and the king’s spec😀 only those with Royal blood should DM

However, on the same day, she was nabbed by the EFCC as one of the members of a syndicate of internet fraudsters in Makurdi Benue state.

Giving the update on their website, EFCC shared that Sassie (Deborah) and her clan were nabbed following an intelligence report on their alleged criminal activities in the state.

They gave the update as thus,

The Makurdi Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Saturday May 1, 2021 arrested four members of a syndicate of internet fraudsters in Makurdi, Benue State.

The suspects, Gideon Damisa, Sunday James, Friday Ebosele and Okiemute Deborah, were rounded up by operatives of the Commission following intelligence report on their alleged criminal activities in and around Makurdi metropolis.

At the point of arrest, the principal suspect Gideon Damisa was in possession of a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 2010 Model, 1 iPhone, 2 Pro Max, 2 Infinix phone and ATM cards, among others.

Kenyan man slashes ex-girlfriend’s face with sword

A Kenyan man identified as Stanley Owini, reportedly slashed his ex-girlfriend, Jacqueline Karima’s face with a sword.

It was gathered that Owini who has now been arrested following the attack, had repeatedly attacked and threatened Jacqueline since their eight years relationship ended in 2020 due to his numerous affairs.

Sharing the sad incident on Facebook, a women-led community organization alleged that Jacqueline had gone to buy soda at a nearby shop when Owini allegedly broke into her fifth floor apartment and hid in her bedroom.

When she returned, he ambushed her with a Masai sword which he used to slash her face as well as other parts of her body.

The NGO wrote,

“This is Jacqueline Karimi (pictures used with permission).

Jacky was living with her boyfriend of eight years Stanley Owino until sometime last year when they parted ways , he had been having numerous affairs , and had even moved in with a lady who they got a baby with.

She moved out and her ordeal started there, Stanley threatening her that her would never let her go. The first time her followed her and stabbed her was in November. She reported and went to hospital, he disappeared and wasn’t arrested.

On January 5th this year , Stanley attacked her again and stabbed her in the back amongst other places , his claim was if he couldn’t have her no one would. Jacky was admitted to Hospital fighting for her life. Upon release she opted to move out of the estate, change her number and start afresh in a completely new environment. This matter was still reported, and he fled once again.

Yesterday Jacky who lives on fifth floor went to buy soda at the shop, she didn’t lock her door, however in returning, she was filled with trepidation, and as she used to she checked everywhere, the last place was her bedroom, where Stanley was waiting to ambush her with a Masai sword which he used to slash her face as well as her body.

We found out that Stanley had been tracking Jacky and had moved to the flat where she was staying and had been monitoring her movements. The police are currently in the house.

Stanley had finally been arrested and will be taking plea in court tomorrow and I don’t have enough thanks for Cynthia Njoroge for agreeing immediately to hold brief for this matter”.

Music producer, Don Jazzy has advised female singers to call out any producer who tries to take advantage of them in the music industry.

The Mavin boss who gave this advise in a recent interview with BBC, revealed that sex is often demanded from many female singers by music producers and TV personalities.

According to the music executive, he’s aware of this because he has a record label dominated by both male and female artists.

He stated that,

“In the past, maybe I had the opportunity to go through a female artiste’s phone and read conversations that the female artists had had with a bunch of producers, TV people, people in the industry.. everybody just wants s.e.x. It’s tiring. I feel sorry for them”.

According to him, the system is flawed and needs to be fixed, hence, parents should do better raising the male child.

He said, “We need to fix the system in general. We need to train the male child better.”

Speaking further, Don Jazzy advised female artists to publicly expose any music producer and media personalities who demand sex in exchange for a favor.

81 year old woman narrates how she was raped by her grand nephew

An 81-year-old elderly Brooklyn woman has tearfully recounted how her 36-year-old great-nephew, Jewell Powell raped her.

Testifying at the man’s trial in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Wednesday, May 5th, the elderly woman revealed recounted Powell attacked her while she let him stay in her home.

According to New York Daily News, the victim allowed Powell to live on her couch for about a month in 2019 but on June 13, 2019, everything changed.

She stated that on that fateful day she went to the kitchen only to meet him there naked. He allegedly grabbed her, dragged her to the bedroom and raped her.

In her words,

“He was my favorite,” she testified. “I hate him.

“I was in my bedroom watching TV. I got up to go to the kitchen. He was there naked. He grabbed me, Powell then dragged me to the bedroom and raped me.

According to her, she fought back, which annoyed Powell the more.

“When I kicked him, he put me back on the bed, put his hands on my throat and said, ‘Next time you do that I’ll smother you,’” she said.

Afterward, Powell gave his great-aunt a knife and told her to kill him, the woman told the court. When she refused to, he threatened to kill himself, she said.

She later revealed the incident to her grandson and daughter who reported him to police. Powell was arrested two days later and has been held at Rikers Island on $70,000 bail since.

Recall that the American business magnate, Bill Gate and his wife Melinda in a joint statement released on Monday announced they are getting a divorce.

“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.

Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.

“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives.” The statement reads.

The family of late comedienne, Mmesoma Mercy Nnadi, otherwise known as Ada Jesus, who died at 24, have released details of her burial arrangements to the public.

According to the obituary, the comedienne will be laid to rest in Oguta, Imo state on Friday, May 28. A Christian Wake Keep and Comedy nite will be held in her honor on Thursday, May 27.

Ada Jesus who had been battling with a protracted Kidney ailment, gave up the ghost after she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest on Tuesday night, April 20.

Nigerian man arrested at Indian airport with N200m worth of drugs concealed in his underwear

A Nigerian man has been arrested at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, India with N206,062.67 worth of drugs concealed in his underwear.

The accused identified as Nonso Ekwalor Base, was apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday, May 4th, on the basis of “behaviour detection”

According to CISF, 200 grams of methaqualone, a sedative, were recovered from Ekwealor as he was undergoing security checks at terminal two of the airport just before he was scheduled to board an Indigo airlines flight to Bengaluru.

CISF who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, said,

“Vigilant #CISF personnel apprehended a passenger namely Mr. Nonso Ekwealor Base (Nigerian) carrying 200gms Narcotic Substance (Methaqualone) concealed inside his clothing @ IGI Airport, New Delhi. Passenger was handed over to NCB officials”.

The Nigerian man was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau authorities along with the seized narcotics that is estimated to be worth Rs 40,000, a senior CISF official stated.

Nigerian Catholic Priest, Fr. Ejike Mbaka has alleged that the leadership of the Catholic diocese in Enugu state wanted to close his ministry for one month.

According to the Priest who is the Spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), the leadership of the Catholic Church led by Bishop Calistus Onaga summoned him over his recent comments concerning Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and his connection to the presidency.

The popular cleric made the claim shortly after resurfacing after initially being declared missing.

In his words ;

“How can they believe what others say, and they will not believe what the priest is saying? The emphasis is ‘please, let me go to celebrate the mass’, but they said ‘no’. If a priest will request to celebrate mass and they say ‘no’, that means something is wrong.

“Allow me to and celebrate mass for my people just for today, I won’t even tell them that I am being punished, they said, No. I will just tell my members that I’m going for 30 days prayer, that after 30 days, we will come back and everybody will obey, they said, No.

“I also begged them to appoint another priest to come and celebrate mass for you today, they also said No.

“They didn’t treat me in a pastoral way. I was asking ‘am I being punished for what’?

“They said it was a meeting, but even before I reached the Bishop’s house, conclusion has already been made. What happened to me was like the day I was shot on the road.

“Unfortunately for them, even before the meeting, a woman was already going around bragging that the Bishop will call me for a meeting, and that I was going to leave my house here for 30 days, and that after the 30 days, I would be sent to Rome, and Adoration ministry will be closed.

“In a time and cases like this, don’t give me a punishment that will cause troubles for us because I’m not alone.”

Lady narrates how bus passengers saved a job seeker from suspected kidnapper’s den disguised as job interview venue

A Twitter user has shared how bus passengers saved a fresh graduate who almost fell victim to kidnappers who disguised as a job opportunity.

According to the lady who shared the story on the micro-blogging platform, the job seeker was on a bus going to Oshodi, and was overheard asking the conductor how she can locate Ajao Estate.

Other passengers noticed she was holding a file and suspected she was going for a job interview in a location she doesn’t know.

Concerned Nigerians who were on the bus with the young lady, insisted she shared the location and helped her check out information about the location online.

It turned out the address and company’s name is fake, and they all advised the young woman not to go to the venue. A passenger went as far as giving her 2,000 Naira to buy breakfast and return home.

Narrating the story, the Twitter user wrote,

“This morning on our way to oshodi, a lady entered and was asking how she can locate ajao estate. While she was asking the conductor I noticed she was with a file (interview ghengeun). Quickly I asked, sorry are you going for an interview, she felt reluctant to reply until guys At the back shouted,” sorosoke for”.

“I knew I was with Twitter family. So she complied and we helped her search for the address on naira land, thank goodness for the traffic btw ojota and Maryland. After discovering it was a scam address we told her to get down at Maryland and
Go home.

“We started giving her recent gist about kidnapping and killings from these unknown interview, she seemed to be a fresh ex corper… I loved how these guy interacted with her I felt so proud of my generation… Indeed we are the leaders of tomorrow.

Pastor Adeboye’s 42 year old son, Pastor Dare Adeboye has died, he died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.

According to The PUNCH, Pastor Dare Adeboye, the son of Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, is dead.

It was gathered that the 42-year-old, who is the third son of the revered cleric, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based with his family.

The PUNCH gathered from reliable sources in the church that the deceased, who was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35, had ministered the previous day.

He was said to have retired to his bed and did not wake up.

His wife, Temiloluwa, was said to have raised the alarm.

“He was not sick and did not complain of anything before the incident. Pastors in the church were summoned to pray for him, all to no avail,” a source added.

Several leaders of the church, who confirmed the incident, said they could not comment on it.

The Head of Media and Public Relations, RCCG, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, however, confirmed the tragedy on Thursday morning.

He said, “It is true. The incident happened in Eket where he was based. I don’t have the details for now. Maybe before the end of today, we will issue a statement.”

Dare would have been 43 years old next month, June.

Last year, on his 42nd birth, his dad, Adeboye on a social media post described him as his first miracle child.

He wrote on his Facebook page, “Our first miracle child. We pray that God will keep his miraculous working power in your life and all those who needs a miracle today, will use you as a point of contact for their own in JESUS name. (Amen) love from Dad, Mom and the whole Adeboye dynasty.”

Dare was happily married with children.

The mother of two who recently welcomed her second child in a recent Instagram post revealed she misses her old body and she’s scared because she doesn’t know how soon her snap back would be.

Speaking further the new mum begged her fans who have been through childbirth to share tips that she can use to get back her figure back in no time.

Sharing an old photo of herself, Uche wrote,

Ifeanyi Daniel Iwuanyanwu, a student of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, and his sister, Vera, have lost their lives in a fatal car crash.

The siblings were reportedly travelling to Port Harcourt for their mother’s birthday on Monday night, May 2, when the unfortunate accident occurred and they both died on the spot.

It was gathered that Daniel was the general course representative of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology.

Friends and classmates of the siblings, said to be the only children of their parents, have been thrown into mourning. Some have also taken to social media to mourn their tragic demise.

President of NASTES, Comrade Uzoma Stephen, who confirmed the sad news in a statement on Tuesday, described late Daniel as a kind and gentle soul.

Accept my deepest condolences on the loss. He was a kind and gentle soul. God bless his soul. There are no words to express my sorrow for the loss, may we find comfort in the loving memories we all shared while he was alive. He can only be physically gone but never the life lived and the memories shared. Have faith and be strong may his soul rest in peace.

Everytime you miss him search in your heart, there you can feel him, be with him and embrace him. Daniel will forever be cherished. In our minds, he lives on. May the grace of God fill us with peace as we remember that one day we will be reunited in His kingdom..

An anonymous married woman is seeking help after her husband who once impregnated her sister insists that his brother-in-law who got his niece pregnant must marry her.

The lady, in her plea for help, shared how her husband a while ago, impregnated her sister and later aborted the baby with the agreement of the family despite causing serious issues.

According to the lady, some similar happened recently with her husband’s niece, who got impregnated by her own brother.

But this time, the husband insists that he wouldn’t be agreeing to an abortion but rather that his brother-in-law betroths his niece.

Nollywood actress, Oluwaseyi Ariyo better known as Shebaby, has taken to social media to cry out over death threats she has been receiving from some masquerade worshippers.

The actress in a video shared on her Instagram page revealed she shot a movie with the Egungun masquerade, and some people took photos from the set and shared it on Facebook.

However, the masquerade devotees expressed their displeasure over the act and vowed to kill her within the next seven days.

Shebabay who pleaded Nigerians to come to her aid, noted that she would never look down on any culture as the movie was produced to enlighten people on religious realities.
