Nigerians drag Olamide over new “Wonma” music video where he portrayed nurses as ‘sexual objects’

Popular Nigerian singer/rapper and label boss, Olamide, was recently dragged on social media over the music video he shot for one of his hit track – Wonma.

In the video, some nurses are seen engaging in x-rated activities while on duty and this elicited the wide range of criticisms from social media users.

Olamide was lambasted because the video was deemed to be contributing to the infamous practice of sexualizing nurses.

A twitter user known asLakesyde wrote ;

8hours shift, 12hours over- night shift on ward, on duty at least 5days in a week, Caring and looking after the welfare of people that don’t know u or gives a damn about you, and still receiving a shitty pay at the end of the month, nd this is deserved? #nursesarenotsexualobjects

Following the heavy critisicm he face, Olamide proceeded to take the video down.

Reacting to this, another twitter user wrote ;

I like how the Nurses raged over Olamide’s video sexualizing nurses. In 24hours,the video has been taken down. That’s seriousness and unity. If a profession is poorly portrayed by an entertainer, the sensible thing to do is to speak in one voice

Nursing world Nigeria, a site that connects Nigerian nurses, also released a statement on the issue ;

While we acknowledge the fact that @Olamide has brought the sounds and beats of Nigeria and Africa to the world at large, the fact still remains that
@Olamide recent music video misrepresents and totally disrespects the Nursing profession and healthcare providers. With a video WONMA depicting nurses as sextoys and sex objects to over 3.4M and 6.9M followers on @Twitter, @AppleMusic and @instagram.

It was heartbreaking to say the least.

This won’t be the first time Nigerian music artiste, Olamide would be outed on social media over his music. The singer is known to drive controversy with his music from time to time, it should be recalled that when he released “Science student” in 2019, he was lambasted for promoting drug abuse. He however, went on to release a music video to counter the claims and give the impression that his music was misunderstood.

A Nigerian lady, Annabel Cynthia has shared how popular reality star, Tacha saved her from suicide after her husband divorced her.

The twitter user who is also a Tacha stan, took to Twitter and revealed that she was about to commit suicide but Big Brother Naija star, Tacha saved her.

Sharing details on her she was saved by the reality star, Annabel said that she tapped from TAcha’s strength which was her source of inspiration and she recalled how the controversial BBNaija star went through a similar situation and came out of it.

She wrote:

“Only God knows that d reason I didn’t commit suicide when my husband divorced me was because of Tacha and Titans. I tapped her strength and said to myself if Tacha can do this, I can.”

Big Brother Naija housemate, Prince has threatened to tell Nengi to stay away from him for consisting switching between him and Ozo.

Prince was engaged in a late night conversation with his fellow housemates, Laycon and Trickytee, when he said he will go on with his decision of telling Nengi to stay away from him should she continue with the same act continue by next week.

Prince further disclosed that he can’t put up with such act because it doesn’t make sense.

Popular social media commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has faulted the airing of Big Brother Naija, Lockdown edition.

The former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday explained that BBNaija promotes sex and immorality on national television.

In a tweet, the former Presidential aide said Nigeria needs television shows that would promote youthful business and not sex.

According to Omokri: “Even in UK, where it originated, Big Brother ended in 2018. We are the world headquarters for extreme poverty.

“Our population is growing faster than our economy. We need shows that promote youthful business, not #BBNaija that promotes youthful sex.”

Recall that some housemates of the current edition of the reality television show have been seen allegedly involved in compromising positions believed to be sex.

Evicted housemate, Ka3na was reported to have had sex with fellow housemate, Praise.

Ka3na, however, denied having sex with Praise.

She had explained that they were involved in cuddling and not sex.

Another housemates, Erica and Kiddwaya were on Sunday night seen having sex under the duvet.

A popular facebook user known as Nkechi Bianze has taken to the platform to reveal the unique action she’d take in the event of finding out that her man cheated on her.

Nkechi is preaching equality when it comes to infidelity and she opined that although ‘cheating’ used to be her deal breaker, that stance has changed because she’d also carry out the same act fo good measures.

Mother tries to prevent arrest of a pastor who allegedly raped and impregnated her two teenage daughters and promised to marry one (video)

A new video has captured the moment a mother of two teenage girls tried to prevent the arrest of the pastor who allegedly raped and impregnated her daughters.

We earlier reported that a certain Pastor Nduka Anyanwu, who claims to be a Minister at a Lord’s Chosen Church branch in Oshodi, raped two sisters, aged 13 and 17, over a lengthy period in the name of casting out evil spirits from them and chasing away “bad luck”. (ICYMI)

Nudka allegedly began raping the 13-year-old girl when she was 9 and began raping the 17-year-old girl when she was 16. Both girls recently became pregnant and he promised to marry the first one and asked her to keep the child while also allegedly promising to procure an abortion for the younger sister.

For promising to marry her daughter, the mother of the girls was filmed protecting her daughters’ alleged rapist when police officers attempted to arrest him for his actions.

“Leave him. I said he’s not going,” the mother of the girls is heard saying as she placed herself between the pastor and the police officer who was trying to take him to the station.

Stop The Abuse Foundation, the NGO that reported the abuse to the police, said the parents of the girls were aware that the pastor has been defiling their daughters so as to cast out an evil mark that brings them badluck.

Popular Nigerian Author, Lawyer and social media critic, Reno Omokri, recently took to his social media page to drop some words of advice for avid fans of Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

The former presidential aide seems not too pleased with the content being exhibited at BBNaija which is no doubt the biggest reality show in Africa.

He called for a ban on the reality show and suggested that the entertainment industry should bring shows that promote youth business in the country,

Reno Omokri also slammed youths forming teams just to support their preferred housemates.

According to Reno Omokri, Nigerian youths should form good team like Team Otedola or Team Dangote so as to be mentored on how to achieve greatness and not a team Nengi that will be based on discussing big buttocks.

His tweet reads ;

Popular Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi has lashed out at controversial male barbie Bobrisky over his statement on his sexuality status

The British born gay activist noted that he’s putting lives of transgender women at risk.

It would be recalled that Bobrisky made the headlines some days ago when he revealed an in-depth secret about his sexuality status while speaking with journalists Dele Momodu.

Bobrisky during the interview stated that he still do girls and have not concluded on who he will be dating when it comes to gender.

Reacting to this, Gay Activist, Bisi Alimi stated that Bobrisky’s statement on the issue of sexuality will be putting the lives of transgender women in the country at risk.

According to Bisi Alimi, we are in a country where people don’t understand the true meaning of sexuality as they think it’s a thing they can just go into and come out anytime they wish.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Laycon, has revealed his utter disgust for Kiddwaya anytime he shows up to kiss Erica.

Laycon, in a discussion with Prince and TrikyTee, said he finds it irritating that Kiddwaya always intrudes anytime he’s about to spend precious time with his love-interest, Erica.

Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold has finally reacted after his wife, songstress, Simi was outed on social media for the timing of her apology to the LGBTQ community.

Simi had apologized to the LGBTQ community for a homophobic comment she made some months back that homosexuality is “not natural“. Her comment angered a lot of the LGBTQ community but she however didn’t address it.

It was not until recently, on August 4, that the singer issued an apology but it coincided with the time her husband Adekunle Gold took to his Instagram page to promote his feature in a magazine that promotes LGBTQ creatives.

Nigerians had at first, accepted her apology and considered it as sincere. However, when people discovered Adekunle Gold’s post, they felt betrayed and accused Simi of only apologizing to prevent a backlash from the LGBTQ community.

The backlash came eventually and members of the LGBTQ community tagged the editor of the queer magazine and demanded that Adekunle Gold’s feature be taken down because his wife is homophobic and his views don’t represent them.

It appears the feature was eventually taken down because Adekunle Gold soon deleted the caption that was directing people to the link to his interview.

Reacting to the backlash, Adekunle Gold said his wife’s apology was “a pure and simple coincidence“. He added that she had “no idea about this or any interview whatsoever.”

He went on to extol his wife’s qualities, pointing out that she’s “a beautiful, kind, and loving person.” He added that people make mistakes and he begged people to consider her apology and give her a chance.

Big Brother Naija 2020 housemate, Ozo has hinted that he has no interest in a romantic relationship with Nengi.

From within and outside the house, Ozo is believed to have strong feelings for Nengi who he has spent much of his time trying to woo.

The on-and-off duo were chilling in the garden and they made known their feelings towards each other.

During the ‘garden talk’, Nengi spoke about Ozo snubbing her for a week and how she made attempts to talk to him to no avail. Ozo rebutted and said they both had conversations during the same timeframe she claimed he was ‘beefing her’.

However, as the conversation on dating lingered on, Nengi reminded Ozo, “I’ve told you that I don’t want a relationship in this house.”

Lord’s Chosen pastor allegedly impregnated two underaged sisters then asks the older one to keep the baby so that he can marry her

A minister in popular Nigerian church, Lord’s Chosen has been accused of raping two underaged sisters for years and finally impregnating them under the guise of casting out “bad luck” from them.

Pastor Nduka Anyanwu, who ministers in the Lord’s Chosen Church, Canaan Land branch in Oshodi, allegedly impregnated the sisters aged 17 and 13.

According to an NGO known as Stop The Abuse, Nduka allegedly began raping the younger girl when she was just 9 and began raping the older girl when she was only 16.

They also alleged that the parents of the girls knew but allowed the pastor to carry on because he told them it’s the only way he could remove the “spiritual mark” on them that “repels good things”.

When he was eventually nabbed by a team of advocates from Stop The Abuse Foundation, the parents of the girls allegedly tried to defend him. The parents refused his arrest based on the fact that he’s a man of God and he has already promised to marry their older daughter.

According to the NGO, the pastor said that he wants the older sister to keep the pregnancy and he’ll marry her but asked that the younger sister aborts her pregnancy because what happened between them was a mistake.

Police officers at the Makinde Police Station arrested the pastor and he’s now in their custody. Stop The Abuse Foundation wrote:

Pastor Nduka Anyanwu who should be better known as Pastor Penis has allegedly raped and impregnated two sisters aged 17 and 13 years and has said he wants the older girl to keep the pregnancy because he wants to marry her but that the younger one should abort her own pregnancy as sexually defiling her was a mistake which he regretted even though he has had carnal knowledge of her uncountable times.

The wicked pastor who claims he is a minister from the Lord’s Chosen Church , Canaan land branch, Oshodi has been sexually defiling the younger girl since she was 9 years old and the older girl since she was 16 years under the pretext that she had a spiritual mark on her body that repels good things and the only way to remove the mark was to have carnal knowledge of her. She refused vehemently and reported to her parents who insisted that she must accept.

Drama however ensued when a team of advocates from Stop The Abuse Foundation and Child Advocates and Vulnerable Person’s Network tried to get him arrested with the help of policemen from Makinde Police Station,Oshodi. The parents of the survivors adamantly refused the arrest of the abuser because he is a man of God and has already promised to marry their older daughter. He was eventually arrested by the determined police officers who refused to be compromised. Thanks to the DPO of Makinde Police Station and his able and gallant police officers

Massive explosion shakes Lebanon’s capital Beirut (Videos)

A massive explosion erupted in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut on Tuesday, August 4th.

The explosion which occurred in the afternoon shook several parts of the capital with Local Red Cross reporting hundreds injured and widespread damage.

Local TV stations reported the blast was at Beirut’s port inside an area where firecrackers were stored, while an Associated Press photographer near Beirut’s port said he witnessed people wounded on the ground and widespread destruction in central Beirut.

According to Abiona, it is indeed a great sin and he asked people guilty of this to repent and turn back to Allah.

#BBNaija: “You think like a frog” – Neo tells Dorathy (Video)

Big Brother Naija housemates, Neo and Dorathy were recently engaged in a conversation and in course of it, Neo got pissed over Dora’s inability to understand an idea he was trying to sell to her especially about Ozo’s “situationship” with Nengi in the house.

Appalled by the fact that Dorathy’s comprehension was slow, he in course of their talk told her she thinks like a frog.

On Monday night, Ozo emerged as head of house for week 3 and chose Dorathy as his Deputy. Not long after, Neo cornered Dorathy to explain the ‘situationship’ Ozo finds himself in with Nengi.

To Neo, Dorathy is misunderstanding Ozo and failing to act as the best friend in the situation – he asked if she’s interested in Ozo to which she replied “NO” and that none of them has interest in the other as lovers but just friends.

According to Neo, Ozo has placed Dorathy at a high point in his life because he values her as a friend but she’s making it difficult for him when she fails to see him in the same light.

And with her inability to understand his stressed point, a frustrated Neo was left with no other option than to tell her “you dey think like frog“.

On July 19, 2020, 20 housemates were enrolled into the BBNaija house to contend for the N85 million grand prize at the end of the reality show, fast forward to two weeks later, two out of those 20 housemate have been evicted from the show.

The evictions which took place on Sunday night left viewers and housemates with mixed feelings even though the latter were the ones who decided the fate of the evicted housemates.

During a recent Diary Room session, one of the current housemates, Tolani, revealed how she felt about the eviction. Tolani didn’t seem to mind that Ka3na had left the show as according to her, she is glad Ka3na got evicted.

She added that Ka3na was causing some negative bonds and energy in the house especially directed towards Nengi.

In her words,

“I’m just happy that ka3na left yesterday, I’m going to be blunt, I don’t need to pretend I’m very happy that she left because she was causing some kind of negative bonds and energy in this house. She was the cause of whatever was going on between their 3 triangle, the ka3na and Lucy and Dorathy vs Nengi. Ka3na was the main factor.”

According to him, men love it when ladies respect them and do what they want them to do. He further beckoned on ladies to try out his suggestion and thank him later.

In his words;

A digital Evangelist on social media, Vala Afshar has taken to his Twitter to advice parents on the proper way to raise their children and buy stuff for them.

According to Vala, parents need to desist from buying things that they didn’t have as kids, for their own kids.

People reaping the fruits of their labour is a popular prayer that is said by both Parents and Children and Mercy Eke has now wished that for her supporters.

Nigerian movie veteran, Eucharia Anunobi has sent a message to men who feel they’re entitled to be respected by their wives even though they do not respect their wives.

In a new post on her Instagram page, the celebrated thespian laid out some bad attitudes some men have towards their wives and asks if they think they deserve to be respected despite having such an attitude.

She says women deserve to be nurtured and be given much attention and sweet talks and if men don’t work towards making themselves better in their relationships, then they should only expect the backside of marriage.

She wrote,

Players to receive immediate Red Card as IFAB introduces new football rule

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has introduced a new rule that states that players who deliberately cough at other players or match officials can be red-carded.

The football’s rule-makers and the Football Association revealed that due to the coming of the Coronavirus pandemic, such an offence falls within “using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures”.

It added: “As with all offences, the referee has to make a judgement about the true nature of the offence.”

“If it were clearly accidental, then the referee would not take action nor if the ‘cough’ took place with a large distance between the players,” added Ifab.

“However, where it is close enough to be clearly offensive, then the referee can take action.”

The FA also issued guidance for grassroots football which will come into force immediately.

In a document, it wrote,

“If the incident was not severe enough to merit a sending-off, a caution could be issued for ‘unsporting behaviour’.” It added referees must not look to punish “routine” coughing and “action can only be supported where it is evident it was a clear act against someone else”.

A young lady had her boyfriend taken aback and had him all emotional after she surprised him with a special treat on his birthday.

The lady, @Ohits_Lexus on Twitter, showered her boyfriend with an array of gifts, ranging from chocolates, to clothes in a well decorated room.

@Ohits_Lexus prepared their home with a line up of all the goodies she got for her man and took him round the house for a tour while the gentleman shed happy tears after seeing the elaborate surprise she packaged for him.

The also told him to open up a safe and he brought out the diamond stud she got for him to replace the one he had. Sharing the video on Twitter, the girlfriend explained that she has never surprised him the way she did.

“So I surprised my boyfriend on his birthday. Ain’t never did no shit like this. He started crying”, she wrote.
