Toke Makinwa denies reports her Ikoyi home has been taken over by AMCON

Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa has refuted online reports claiming her Ikoyi home been repossessed by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON.

Earlier today July 27, Toke became the number 1 trending topic after some users of the app claimed that her ”Banana Island property” had been taken over by AMCON.

However, a statement released this evening by her publicist, Andrea Manuela Giaccaglia, asserted that the media personality is the sole owner of her Ikoyi property and that it has not been confiscated by AMCON.

The statement reads

”On behalf of Ms. Toke Makinwa, we would like to address the rumour circulating the internet that Ms. Toke Makinwa’s alleged house in Banana Island was taken over by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

Ms. Toke’s is the sole owner of her residence in Ikoyi.

Our lawyers have been contacted and legal action will be taken against the originators of this story.

Big Brother Naija ‘lockdown’ housemates contested for the Head of House position for the second week and this time, Lucy emerged the overall winner.

The game was keenly contested among the housemates and it came down to three housemates, Neo, Lucy and Ozo playing the game of chance to decide the winner.

Ghanaian musician, Nana Richard Abiona popularly known as Fuse ODG has thrown light on how ‘whites’ used to bring Africans into submission.

In a video the singer posted on his Instagram page, the singer could be seen burning the famous image of Jesus Christ which is “White Jesus” into ashes.

He indicated that the most widely image of the white Jesus is the seed of War, Child abuse, Apartheid, Hitler, Slavery, Rape Trade, and Skin Bleaching.

He said; ”Now, for the oppressed, as Africans, we can hope that the oppressors can do the right thing but we can not depend on them. We need to take our faith into our own hands, We have a responsibility to deal with our own truth and it starts with this[image of Christ-‘white Jesus’]…”

He said the image is actually representing the devil and not God or Jesus Christ if one could take a look at how Catholic Church and the entire Christian faith has overwhelmed Africans and Black people in general.

Earlier today, news made the rounds that Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has finally forgiven her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, for the sake of their child, King Andre.

She disclosed this during an interview with journalist, Dele Momodu on the importance of forgiveness, adding that she has come to realize that forgiveness is not about the next person but about oneself. Read about it here

In light of this, fans and followers have somewhat expected that when the philanthropist and businessman sees his ex-wife’s message, he would reciprocate the gesture by also talking about “forgiveness”.

However, when Mr Churchill made a recent social media presence, he stated that nobody should get him into a discussion if the conversation isn’t about money.

Couple arrested for inflicting severe injuries on 8 year old son for buying N100 worth of Akara instead of N50

The Imo State police command has apprehended a couple with names, Goodluck Ogbuji, 28 and Benita Ogbuji, 26 for allegedly inflicting severe injuries on their eight old child who bought N100 worth of Akara (bean cake), instead of N50 in Umudagu Mbieri, Imo State.

According to the police command, they effected the arrest after they were led by two journalists, Chidiebube Okeoma and Harriet Ijeomo to the couple’s residence at Umudagu Mbieri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state.

The arrest of the couple was sequel to a social media post which showed pictures of the severe injuries inflicted on the boy identified as Wisdom.

The Journalists who took photos of the injured boy upon arrival at the residence, stated that Wisdom has been out of school since 2019 and has be suffering physical abuse from his parents.

Okeoma narrating the story, said,

“We got information that a couple dehumanised and almost killed their houseboy because he bought bean cake of N100 instead of N50.We made inquiries through social media and we got their house address. We mobilised policemen to the place in the early hours of Thursday and got the wicked couplea rrested and rescued the child”

“They have been detained at the Orji Police Division, while the boy is being taken care of by the policemen. The level of injuries inflicted on the boy is wicked. We are seeking justice for the child. We want the couple to be prosecuted. The boy has been out of school since 2019.”

Secondary school students in exit classes to resume August 4 for WAEC exams starting August 17 – Ministry Of Education

The Ministry of Education has announced that exit classes in Secondary schools across the nation will reopen for academic activities on August 4.

A statement released this afternoon July 27, by the Director of Press, Ministry Of Education, Ben Bem Goong, says students in exit classes are to resume immediately after the Salah breaks so they can take their WAEC examinations scheduled to begin August 17.

Goong said this decision was taken at the virtual consultative meeting of the Federal Ministry of Education, Commissioners of Education in the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Proprietors of Private schools, and Chief Executive of Examination bodies.

The Federal government had initially suspended the reopening of schools due to the increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Pokello Nare, a Zimbabwean socialite and businesswoman, plunged into limelight during the 2013 edition of the Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality TV show.

According to Pokello who shared her childhood photos on her Twitter page, not everyone who is light skinned went through a bleaching procedure.

According to her, she feels it’s high time she addressed the bleaching allegations so people will stop lying about her.

Prominent Nollywood actress and movie producer, Genevieve Nnaji has given her stance on the topic of feminism and the kind that she practices.

According to the Lionheart actress, “feminism” has to do with human rights, and as such, she as a woman, has right to her choices.

Talking further, the actress stated that her concept of feminism is one in which she can choose to do whatever she wants at any point in time, adding that if she were a man, her stance on the matter would be the same.

The actress shared her thoughts with Guardian Nigeria.

She said,

“My own feminism is just human rights. I am a woman who has rights to her own choices. I can do whatever I want whenever I want. It’s just that simple. If I were a man it would be the same thing.”

A while back, the actress aired her thoughts on the tragic murder of 17-year-old Tina Ezekwe and Uwa Omozuwa, 22.

Uwa Omozuwa was brutally assaulted and raped inside a church where she went to read in Benin, while Tina was was shot dead by two police officers on May 26 in Lagos

The actress reacted to the situation at the time as she took to her social media page to write ;

Nollywood actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu‘s wife, Casandra has taken to her Facebook page to dispel troubling rumours of her death.

In a quite lengthy post on her page, the actor’s wife addresses people who are wishing death upon her as she says it’s a grave occurrence which should not be taken lightly or joked about.

She shared photos of a report which claimed that she was dead, writing,

A lot of people undermine death. They forget that it is a grave occurrence and not something to be spoken lightly of or joked about. I know death. I’ve lived it. Death drains. It hurts. It changes you. It devastates you. It is bad. And it’s a very bad thing when you begin to wish a living person death??. What is it? Who’s behind this? I can’t continue running. I need to face my fear and that’s death. In the year 1998 both my parents and two of my younger siblings were poisoned and they passed away shortly after. I remember the cries of agony from my younger brother because ‘he didn’t want to die’. I remember him begging us to pray for him to live. I remember the struggles of my parents and my younger sister ripping her hair off from her scalp because she was in so much pain. Everything about my life changed. I witnessed the 4 open graves in my father’s compound. Yes, you read that correctly; they were poisoned. It was not an accident, illness or that they went to bed and didn’t wake up. The wicked and sick people who acted on their hate are responsible.
These articles that say “I died” or “My kids died” are ruining the life of my family?. How does someone make up such an evil story? My kids killed in a freezer while playing hide and seek? Me strangled or shot by a houseboy? Why would you come up with such an appalling, myopic and untrue article?! As kids, my children were so traumatized that going out was a problem because they feared that people will see them as ghosts and run???. It took the grace of God to counsel them and dispel that fear.
What is it? Do I really have to die for these article writers to be ‘satisfied’?? I got married just like every other girl and was happy in my marriage until I began to pay huge and unpleasant prices and witness haunting occurrences just because I married a popular figure. My freedom was taken from me. My children have no life, they don’t have friends and cannot freely do what other kids in their respective age brackets do without fear of unnecessary consequences. They live in a constant fear of the unknown. I have been attacked in unprovoked circumstances because of who I married. I have been slapped, hit, followed, tracked and spat at all because I am “Bob-Manuel’s wife. I fear for my life! And the life of my children!! In all this I ask, What is my offense? MARRIAGE???
I have had several kidnapping attempts. My son has had 3 close calls with kidnappers. My daughter who also had 3 close calls, laments everyday that she wants to live a normal life but she knows that that’s almost impossible….and that breaks me. It breaks my heart. It breaks my spirit that we are like show birds, pretty in a cage but with no freedom??. Solely for entertainment. Please let us fly???. Please let us live??
I remember in 2013 just like right now, an article was published saying I had died. This exact picture and write up was trending on social media and was on google. It was a regular beautiful day for me till I started receiving so many alarming calls from my family, friends and acquaintances. My children and I were greatly and negatively impacted by that article. And again today the same thing!! July 27 2020! I cried bitterly because I am tired! Tired of being fake news, tired of being ‘dead’ when I am alive, tired of hiding and living in fear!!
What I truly do not understand is why someone keeps writing and circulating these articles. Do you not know that your writings are hurtful? That they are traumatizing? That they make people scared? Do you have no conscience?? PLEASE STOP! STOP HURTING US!!

Ex-Nigeria footballer, Musa Nosa Kadiri dies after falling from his apartment in New York

Former Nigerian international, Musa Nosa Kadiri, has died at the age of 53. He died on Friday, July 24, 2020.

According to Sahara Reporter, the ex- Flying Eagles star went into a coma after falling from his New York apartment which caused bleeding in his brain.

A source who confirmed his death told the publication: “I’m surprised because I saw him Saturday or Sunday. We were going over some business he wanted to be done, and he looked fine.

“He had lost a bit of weight due to being hospitalised two weeks earlier. But he was his usual self, talking politics and plans. So, a day or two later, he was unresponsive and on life support. It’s hard to believe.”

His funeral service is scheduled to hold on Thursday, July 30, at 491 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY.

Kadiri grew up playing soccer on the streets of his hometown, Benin City in Nigeria. He played in local teams, winning local and national leagues. He also went to play soccer professionally in Europe and before going into coaching.

In 1995, Kadiri mobilised ex-professionals in the New York City area to form Nigeria United that competed in and won local and national tournaments.

Later in 2002, Kadiri founded Young Rock Soccer Academy (YRSA), a non-profit avenue for kids aged 4 -15 to come together in the celebration of soccer.

Two gunmen shot dead by church member as they tried to rob the congregation during Sunday service in South Africa

Two gunmen were gunned down last Sunday by Pieter van der Westhuizen, who is the brother of South African rugby legend, Joost van der Westhuizen as they tried to rob a congregation during a church service.

Three robbers invaded the Querencia Ministries church in Wierda Park, Centurion, South Africa, on Sunday and proceeded to try and rob members of the congregation at gunpoint.

According to a report by Netwerk24, two of the robbers were then gunned down by Pieter van der Westhuizen who was among the congregation. The third robber was wounded but managed to escape using the car they came with.

According to Ruan Heyns of the Community Emergency Response Team, the pastor of the church, Kobus Erasmus and other worshippers were pushed around and pistol-whipped by the men.

According to Ruan, at one point one of the robbers reportedly held a pistol to Erasmus’ head.

The shooter, Van der Westhuizen – a former police officer himself, is co-operating with the police investigation and his lawyer Ulrich Roux has said his client acted in self-defence when he used the weapon to shoot the attackers.

The shooter’s older brother, Joost van der Westhuizen, made 89 appearances in test matches for the national team, scoring 38 tries and participated in three Rugby World Cups. He died in 2017 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Budding Nollywood actress, Ada Karl, has shared her story about how she grew up in an abusive environment, even though her father was a great dad.

The actress made the revelation in a recent interview with The Nation.

When she was asked about her childhood memories, the actress said,

“I don’t recall anything good, just the bad ones. Like my dad physically abusing my mum – it wasn’t a palatable experience.”

On how it affected her relationship with men, she said,

“I was very suspicious of any man that said ‘hello’ to me because I assumed all men were the same.

I was traumatised and assumed all men were abusive. It affected my view about men. Growing up, I considered being a Nun, but I came from a Pentecostal and Anglican background. So, l wasn’t even bold enough to discuss that with my parents.

Managing the trauma of domestic violence is tough! I never told my friends in school because I was shy and also scared of my dad. My father being an amazing dad also made it harder for me because I felt nobody would believe me.

I still wonder how he could have been such a great dad and an abusive husband, but again he whiplashed us a lot; which is also a trace of abuse. But as a typical African child, I never viewed that as abuse but as an adult I think he was a bit extreme with his disciplinary measures to us.”

A young lady has shared some advise to her fellow ladies as she opined on the reason men sometimes appear to be broke, even when they’re not.

According to the lady identified as Thendo Sharon, men act broke for the simple reason of putting women to the test and figuring out how loyal they are.

Making the statement via her social media account, Thendo also advised women not to always be materialistic.

“Dear women Sometimes Men act broke to test your loyalty.Don’t always be material driven.” she wrote.

#BBNaija2020: Lucy and Kaisha engage in second fight over used sanitary pad

Big Brother Naija housemates, Lucy and Kaisha have been involved in yet another fight in the ongoing BBNaija 2020 reality TV show.

The two female housemates had been involved in a shouting match some days ago which resulted in them exchanging abusive names — Lucy had insinuated that Kaisha acts like a baby and responding to her, Kaisha slammed Lucy and labelled her an old cargo.

After the live show on Sunday night, both of them were at each other’s throat again and this time it was about a used sanitary pad.

Lucy had complained about the sanitary pad which she found inside the bathroom and also the bloodstain on the bed in the garden.

Triggered by Lucy’s complain, Kaisha shouted at her and told her to allow the issue be resolved among housemates. This led to a second shouting match between both of them as other housemates looked on.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Nengi has forbade her potential beau, Ozo with a voice so loud and clear that he has no right whatsoever to have a female bestie when she is around.

Following last night’s live show, the duo were spotted together at the lounge as they conversed on life issues and their expectations from their partners and also the bad sides in a relationship.

Nengi, in course of the conversation, revealed that she is the possessive type of woman who wouldn’t like to share anything in a relationship.

Ozo then proceeded to ask her what she thinks of her partner having a female friend to which she replied “female friend kill you there” repeatedly.

Nengi says her partner can have a female friend but should be distant because she is the one in the relationship and not the friend.

“I want to be your only friend, I have to be your only friend because you are mine”

Nengi’s point is an apparent warning to Ozo that he can’t have female friends if they both decide to start a relationship.

Big Brother Naija season 4 winner, Mercy Eke is probably tired of trolls who write negative stuff about her and she opted to go spiritual in an effort to get back at them.

In a video she shared on her instastory, the reality star and entrepreneur is seen in a ‘supposedly scary’ make-over, chanting unique incantations and ordering he haters to stop posting shi* about her. She went further to command them to send her money.

“How I was almost jailed in Dubai” – Tonto Dikeh shares what transpired in Dubai last year

Nigerian actress and businesswoman, Tonto Dikeh has finally opened up why she was deported from Dubai last year, after an altercation with security guards.

It should be recalled that sometime last year, news made the rounds that the actress was deported for dealing with drugs et al but she dismissed the reports as false.

The mother of one, in a new development as regards the issue, has now cleared the air, saying she was not involved in any kind of drugs as people were made to believe and that she got into a fight with the guard because he called her “prostitute’’ in Arabic.

According to her, the guard saw her not properly dressed so he insulted her judging by her appearance and that caused the misunderstanding.

She made this known in a live Instagram interview with top Nigerian journalist/Publisher, Chief Dele Momodu. The veteran publisher asked about what realy went down in Dubai, and this is what she has to say;

”Far from it. That incident in Dubai was not drugs because if it was I would be in jail. It had nothing to do with drugs or alcohol even.

“On that day, I was insulted by one of the guards. He said something very derogatory to me in Arabic, I think Lebanon. It’s called Sharamuta which means prostitute, it means a call girl and I was not so dressed.

“But it was a show, so I had like a very amazing bra inside and this blazer on top. To them, it is Haram when you are not dressed properly. So that is where all of the altercation started. That was the only problem, any other information is just false,

“I really don’t want to go into so much detail about Dubai because I have a home there now and I want to be able to enter freely after all of this and that is why I never really talked about it“
