In an interview with Saturday Beats, the actress said, “Fake friends are a common problem because there is a lot of competition among us (actors). A lot of people create things that don’t exist just because they want to convince people they are doing fine. Because of social media popularity, actors always want to impress their fans. If a particular actor is getting many roles, her colleagues could say the person is using voodoo. Some actors don’t even know what they want, forgetting that we all have our own time (to shine). Also, whenever some actors have issues with their careers, they blame it on their friends in the industry. Some actors don’t even want to be corrected. When one tries to correct them, they think one hates them or that one is a fake friend.
“I tell people that they don’t have to follow the crowd. Some actors even borrow the latest cars from car dealers all aimed at impressing people.”

Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninalowo has talked about his family, saying that he was born into a staunch Muslim family, but evreything changed when he became troubled and frustrated.
Ninalowo said he ran into trouble and couldn’t be saved by his parents and family members who were Muslims.
He, however, stated that the bible rescued him from the trouble and since then “it became my life manual.” Ninalowo revealed this during an Instagram Live session with Mr. Porsche.
However, he noted that he has only been to church. “Although I have only gone to church once in my entire life, I read the bible a lot. My name is Azeez; I was born into a staunch Muslim family. When I was troubled and frustrated, it was the bible that saved me, as my parents and family members couldn’t. So, I picked up the bible and it became my life manual.”

Olalekan Ponle, a Nigerian held in the United States for alleged multi-million-dollar fraud, has been indicted by the grand jury, a group of lawyers empowered to conduct legal proceedings and investigate potential criminal conduct.
Mr Ponle, popularly known as Woodberry, alongside Ramoni Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, was arrested in the United Arab Emirate on June 10 for multiple fraud charges after a raid by operatives of the Dubai crime unit.
According to the complaint, an unnamed Chicago company was defrauded into sending wire transfers totalling $15.2 million.
Companies based in Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, New York and California also were victims of the fraud, prosecutors say.
PREMIUM TIMES reported how the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) nabbed Mr Ponle through details accessed from his WhatsApp, iPhone and Bitcoin transactions. He was extradited to the United States on July 2.
The 29-year-old is currently facing charges bordering on wire fraud Conspiracy at a United States District Court sitting in Illinois.
His first appearance in court was on July 3, after which the preliminary hearing was set for July 16 before Judge Jeffrey T Gilbert.
Although Mr Ponle appeared in court for his detention and preliminary hearing on Thursday, PREMIUM TIMES is yet to access the outcome of the proceedings as of the time of filing this report.
Grand Jury’s report
As obtained by this paper, a report of the special grand jury constituted in 2019, which was submitted to the court on Wednesday, indicted Mr Ponle.
In the American judicial system, the grand jury listens to the prosecutor and witnesses, and then votes in secret on whether they believe that enough evidence exists to charge the person with a crime.
When a person is indicted, he is given a formal notice that it is believed that he committed a crime. The indictment contains the basic information that informs the person of the charges against him.
The jury summed up the allegations against Mr Ponle to an eight-count charge of wire fraud, which violates section 1343 of the United States Codes.
“Whoever, having devised or intending to devise any scheme or artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretences, representations, or promises, transmits or causes to be transmitted by means of wire, radio, or television communication in interstate or foreign commerce, any writings, signs, signals, pictures, or sounds for the purpose of executing such scheme or artifice, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.”
More so, the jury, in its conclusion, stated that, upon conviction, Mr Ponle shall forfeit to the United States of America any property which institutes and is derived from proceeds traceable to the offense provided in Title 18. United States Code, Section 981 (IXC) and Title 28, United States Code, Section 24611).
“If any of the property described above, as a result of any act or omission by a defendant: cannot be located upon the exercise of due diligence; has been transferred or sold to, or deposited with, a third party; has been placed beyond the jurisdiction of the Court; has been substantially diminished in value; or has been commingled with other property which cannot be divided without difficulty, the United States of America shall be entitled to forfeiture of substitute property, as provided in Title 21, United States Code, Section 853 (p), ” the report further read.
Previous reports had indicated that Mr Ponle will be in the custody of the U.S. Marshal until further order by the Court.

The classmate who knocked down first female combat helicopter pilot of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) with a car reportedly “has no driver’s licence”.

Arotile died from head injuries she sustained after being knocked down by a car driven by her old classmate at the Kaduna NAF base.
Military sources who spoke to Channels Television, said the civilian driver accompanied by his friends, visited his relations at the Airforce base located in Mando area of Kaduna metropolis on that fateful day and decided to drop off the late Airforce Pilot whom he spotted on the road inside the base.
However while reversing the car, he knocked down Arotile. Upon being taken in for questioning, it was discovered that he had no valid driver’s license.

A 27-year man, identified as Friday Asuquo, on Friday shot at his friend, Kingsley Araino, with a pump-action gun, with intent to kill, following a disagreement that ensued between them as a result of N1,000 owed him.
According to the Anambra State police command’s spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed, the culprit had a misunderstanding with one Kingsley over one thousand naira debt.
Following the altercation, the suspect quickly rushed inside one City of Restoration Church, Amawbia, brought out a pump-action gun loaded with four live cartridges and allegedly shot the victim at his back.
Friday was immediately arrested, while the victim is already receiving treatment at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital.

Did your parents tell you why they took you to her house to live with her?
My father and auntie knew that I was staying with her. They told me I would go to school from her house.
What class were you in at school before you moved to her house?
I was in Primary Six and I want to become a lawyer.
Did you attend school while you were at her house?
I attended school for only one week.
Why did you stop?
One day, she gave me some doughnut to take to school but I was hungry, so I started eating it on the way. She met me eating the doughnut. That’s how she stopped me from going to school.
Is it true that she maltreated you?
Yes. One day, she just came back from work and asked me who ate the rice at home. I told her that I was the one and she started beating me.
What did she use to beat you?
She beat me with a piece of iron.
What are the other things she did that you didn’t like?
She also beat me and put pepper on my body. She kept me in the toilet to sleep and gave me water from the toilet to drink. I was there for over one week.
Did she feed you well like her children?
She didn’t give me adequate food. She fed me once or twice in a day. Sometimes, she added bitter leaves to the rice she gave me to eat.

A female corps member who was among the batch that recently passed from the national youth service year has been spotted in a now viral video lamenting over the fact that she’ll no longer be able to receive a N33k allowance.

It should be recalled that the batch B corp members of the 2019/2020 service year passed out some days ago, an event which saw many of them taking pictures and rejoicing over the completion of their service year.

One of those who passed out from their service year recently was popular Instagram comic skit maker, 21 year-old Taaooma. Sharing photos from her POP on Instagram, she wrote;

Taaoma was born in Ilorin but spent most of her years growing up in Namibia. Maryam who returned to Nigeria for her university education, has gradually become a household name for netizens due to her comic skits.
The skit maker once upon a time, addressed some issues she’s always faced with her identity and religion. Apart from being one of the funniest Instagram skit makers in the country, Taooma is also a devoted Muslim and as such, she is always seen tying a scarf/covering her hair in her skit and in public.

Alleged fraudster, Hushpuppi transferred to California for prosecution
The Instagram sensation was arraigned in a Chicago court on Monday and denied bail despite pleas by his lawyer.
Embattled Nigerian socialite and alleged fraudster, Ramon Abass AKA Hushpuppi, has been transferred to the Central District of California for prosecution.
The Instagram sensation was arraigned in a Chicago court on Monday and denied bail despite pleas by his lawyer.
On Tuesday, he was promptly transferred to the Central District of California for prosecution and remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal in accordance to 18 U.S.C. § 3142(f).
Hushpuppi was denied bail in the United States in spite of his lawyer, Gal Pissetzky insisting that his job as an Instagram celebrity pays for his expenditures.
Hushpuppi’s lawyers, in his defense, revealed that his job as an Instagram socialite is what pays for his $10,000 monthly rent on his luxury Dubai flat. They had applied for him to leave jail with an electronic tag and live with the uncle of a woman with whom he has a child with, but US prosecutors opposed the bail application.
His lawyers said,
“He is loved and respected. He is a celebrity.
“I don’t see the reason why he would want to ruin his credibility in the world and his status rather than stay here and face this allegation.
“Anywhere he goes, people will know. Having grown up very poor in Nigeria, Mr Abbas is now paid to pose with high-priced items such as Louis Vuitton bags that people would buy after seeing his posts on Instagram.
“He is an influencer. That’s a job today, as much as it is hard to imagine. That’s a full-time job.”
Hushpuppi and another cyber-heist suspect, Olalekan Jacob Ponle, also known as Mr Woodberry were arrested in Dubai, where they lived, in June.
They were later taken to the US where they appeared in a Chicago court on 3 July.

Police say the murderer, dressed in a black three-piece suit, followed the GOkada CEO into the key-card secured elevator that led to his seventh-floor apartment and attacked him when the elevator stopped. He disabled Saleh with a Taser and stabbed him several times in the neck and torso.
Police say Haspil left the apartment to obtain cleaning supplies from Home Depot, then returned to dismember Saleh’s body and erase any potential DNA evidence, even using a handheld vacuum to clean the elevator.
The suspect faces second-degree murder and other charges.
It was earlier reported that the limbless, headless torso of the millionaire tech entrepreneur was found inside his $2.25 million apartment in New York on Tuesday afternoon, with an electric saw lying next to the remains, police in New York said.
Police made the grisly discovery in a building on E. Houston St. at Suffolk St. on the Lower East side about 3:30 p.m. Cops found contractor bags near the torso, sources said, but didn’t immediately open them to see if the body parts were inside.
