A United Kingdom woman, Emma Fearon, 34, has given birth during the lockdown to one of Britain’s biggest babies weighing a whopping 11lb 6oz which is approximately the size of a bowling ball.
Despite the baby boy, named Atticus James Fearon’s size, the mother required no stitches and only had gas and air as pain relief.
Emma however, isn’t new to giving birth to heavy babies as her firstborn Aria, three, weighed 10lb 8oz at birth, and her second child Amelia, three, was 9lb at birth.
According to Emma, she gave birth in a birthing pool using hypnobirthing techniques set up at her home in Thornton-le-moore, Cheshire.
Speaking about her delivery, Emma said,
‘I birthed him in a pool with the midwife arriving with only half an hour to spare. ‘I only had a couple of puffs of gas and air and got away with no stitches.
‘It just goes to show what women’s bodies are capable of and a nice reassurance for those that are predicted to have big babies.’
However, Atticus doesn’t take the record for the biggest baby in the UK, a title that belongs to baby Anila, who weighed in at 12 pounds and 6 ounces last year.
According to the NHS, the average weight of a baby girl is 3.3kg (7.27 lbs) and for boys, it is 3.4kg (7.49 lbs).

Popular Nigerian Singer, D’banj, has reacted to the backlash he received from the ‘media’ following the messy scandal that ensued after he was accused of rape by a lady identified as Seyitan.
Recall on the 3rd of June, 2020, Seyitan shared details of being raped by D’banj on Twitter.
The singer denied the allegation a week later, tagged it ”lies from the pit of hell” and said he’d be seeking justice by taking legal steps.
However some days later, some policemen allegedly acting on the instruction of the singer detained Seyitan for over 24 hours.
After this, Seyitan deleted all chats, social media posts and retracted her former statement. This elicited a wide range of criticism on social media with D’Banj trending on social media for about three days.

The Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, has disclosed that a toddler, 2 years of age, tested positive for Coronavirus at its facility.
Spokesperson of the hospital, Segun Orisajo said the child was admitted eight days ago on account of breathlessness and tests carried out on her showed she had the virus.
Orisajo said,
“Due to the persisted high temperature, she was isolated, hence no member of staff or other patients were unduly exposed,” he said.
“To confirm the initial suspicion by a team of care givers, on the third day, she was screened for coronavirus while her treatment continued.
“The samples of her test returned positive for coronavirus few moments ago.
“The girl is already receiving treatment at the Centre’s isolation ward while the facility where she was initially admitted has been decontaminated.”
The toddler is now receiving treatment at the hospital’s isolation ward, while the hospital’s management has initiated a contact tracing of her relatives.
The Lagos state police command have arrested one Abdulrahman Olayiwola, the son of the Chief Imam of Isale Oja community in Agege, for allegedly stabbing his friend, simply identified as Pelumi, to death during an argument over a stolen phone.
According to the police, Pelumi had given Abdulrahman a stolen phone to keep for him. An argument then ensued between the both of them as Abdulrahman allegedly refused to release the phone to Pelumi when he demanded for it.
It took the intervention of Pelumi’s girlfriend and Abdulrahman’s sister for him to give Pelumi back the phone.
However, an argument ensued between both men the following day and it quickly degenerated into a fight. In the process, Abdulrahman allegedly picked up a broken bottle a stabbed his friend, Pelumi, in the neck which resulted in his death.
Officers at the Isokoko police station were alerted and Abdulrahman was arrested while the body of Pelumi was deposited in the morgue.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, said Abdulrahman is in police custody while two more suspects have been arrested over the incident.
Reacting to claims that there were plans to release Abdulrahman to his parents, Bala said an investigation is currently ongoing, and that if Abdulrahaman has a hand in the murder of Pelumi, he will be charged to court and if he doesn’t, he will be released.
He said the police is carrying out an autopsy on the remains of late Pelumi.

The Anambra state police command has confirmed the arrest of a 34-year-old man, one Ifeanyi Apusiobi of Azu Ogbunike in Oyi LGA of Anambra State, for allegedly killing his two children with a wooden pestle.
The suspect who crushed his children; Chinecherem Apusiobi aged 7 and Obinna Apusiobi aged 5 with the pestle while they were sleeping, also injured his 72-year-old father, Dominic Apusiobi on the head with same object.
Exhibits have been recovered and the case has been transferred to the State CID in Awka for discreet investigation. The statement released by the state’s police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed reads,

Operatives of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police have arrested a 22-year-old vulcanizer, Dele Ope, for allegedly stealing a pant of her client for money ritual, Vanguard reports.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who revealed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Sunday, said the suspect was arrested following a report by a woman (name withheld) who reported at Warewa Division of the State Police command that she discovered that her car tyre has been deflated when she wanted to go out.
She added that this necessitated the woman to invite the suspect who is a vulcaniser to fix the tyre in her house.
“After fixing the tyre and left, she discovered that her pant that was spread on a rope within the compound has been missing”.
“Since the vulcaniser was the only person who came to the compound, she went round in search of him but he is nowhere to be found”.
“Upon the report, the DPO Warewa Division, SP Folake Afeniforo detailed detectives to the area where the suspect was traced and arrested”.
“His house was quickly searched and the woman’s pant was recovered there”.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the pant with the intention of taking it to a herbalist for money ritual”.
Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
