Yesterday’s airing of the Big Brother Naija reunion for 2019 housemates had less drama than the previous episodes but it had major highlights and talking points.
Former housemate, Seyi, reluctantly apologized to Thelma over his insensitive comments about her dead brother during their time in the house.
Recall Seyi, in the show last year made derogatory comments about her late brother, who was murdered a day to his wedding.
Thelma however revealed that she forgave Seyi even before he apologized.
Taking to her social media pages, she wrote;
“The death of my late brother was and will still be a fresh wound that barely heals because he was MURDERED!!
.
I forgave Seyi even before he apologized, but it pleased me that the issue was raised for him to apologize on air so my MUM will see that he really apologized. There is more to life than weighing our hearts down with grudges. Let’s learn to forgive and move on!”
When a person says you hurt them, you don’t get to decide you didn’t hence for this I would just ?
PS- In life, feedback and opinions from people matter; it allows us weight our actions and inactions… I am becoming a better person ? you should too ? ? pic.twitter.com/OR5azL3qcv

News of Nigerian socialite, Ray Hushpuppi being arrested on the grounds of fraud by the International Police in Dubai has set social media abuzz over the last few hours.
It’s reported that Hushpuppi and his friend, Mr Woodbery amongst others were reportedly nabbed by Interpol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI in Dubai.

In a now deleted post, Mompha wrote,
Never mock anyone who is facing a trial case cos you dont know Tomorrow. For those who are worried about me am safe and sound No shaking Godnever disappoint his own
It should be recalled that in October of 2019, Mompha was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after he allegedly escaped arrest by Interpol. He was arrested by the EFCC over alleged fraud.
During that time, Hushpuppi had sort of mocked his situation but as it turns out now, the tables have turned.
The Imo state police command has arrested two women, Victoria Joseph, 28, and Joy Ugorji,33, for allegedly stealing a two-year-old baby and attempting to sell him off to a prospective buyer.

Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has given more details about the arrest of Dubai based Nigerian big boy, Ray Hushpuppi.
Taking to her verified Instagram page, the journalist wrote,
“#BREAKING UPDATE @mrwoodbery and @hushpuppi implicated by the @secretservice in a Nigerian Unemployment Insurance scam named #ScatteredCanary.
For those who don’t know what this is, this is money the US government gives us monthly when we lose our jobs while we are looking for another. Somehow the Nigerian ring cracked into the system and filed 174+ fraudulent claims. People’s #COVID19 stimulus payments gone.
It is too elaborate. Only thing I can say is everyday for the thieves, one day for the owner. It is a dark day in Nigeria. HushPuppi and Woodberry and others are on their way to America. I was also told that their properties have been sealed with warrants”.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a driver, Abass Ope, for allegedly stealing his former boss’ car, television sets and dog in the Magodo, Ketu area of the state.
Ope, who hails from Ogun State, was said to have sneaked into his boss’ home while the latter was away with his family members on a Christmas holiday in Delta State.
Together with three other accomplices, the suspect was alleged to have made away with a Toyota Avensis, 2013 model, a 100-inch LCD television, a 42-inch LCD TV, a dog, a suitcase and two DSTV decoders.
The victim, Ekinodo Ifoghale, upon getting a report of the incident, cut short his Yuletide trip and returned to Lagos.
He was said to have reported the case to policemen at the Magodo division.
The suspect was said to have been rounded up by a decoy team of the Rapid Response Squad in the Ojuelegba area on December 26, 2016.
A police source said the suspect was about to sell the Toyota Avensis for N2m when he was apprehended.
He said, “The suspect stopped working for his boss in August 2016. While the man was away for Christmas with his family, he sneaked into the house at a time he knew the gatekeeper would have gone to church.
“Since he knew where his boss normally kept keys to the rooms, the job was easier for him. He and his gang left with the man’s car, two TVs, two decoders, a suitcase and a dog.
“The former boss, on learning of what happened, called him to ask if he knew anything about it, but he denied.
“The police, who got the information of the theft, tracked the Toyota Avensis to Ojuelegba. He was picked up while trying to sell the car for N2m.”
Ope, in his statement to the police, allegedly confessed to the crime, adding that he stole the items because Ifoghale owed him eight months’ salaries.
He said he committed the crime to raise funds with which he would celebrate Christmas with his family members.
He said, “It has been four months since I left my former boss. I worked for him for four years before quitting in August 2016. I left because things were tough for him. I also left so that he could sort himself out. While things were tough for him, he owed me eight months’ salaries. This prompted me to take his property and the vehicle.
“I took the car because I had no money to take care of myself and my younger ones. They had no clothes and no shoes for Christmas. They looked up to me to take care of the expenses.
“The auto dealer wanted to pay N2m for the car, but I insisted on N4m because I knew it was worth more than that. He offered me N1m instantly and said the balance would be ready in a few minutes. But I decided to ignore the offer, hoping that he would call me back for a re-negotiation.
“I went back to Ojuelegba a few hours later in company with three of my friends; that was when the RRS operatives arrested us. My former boss was nice to me. He enrolled me in a university, but I dropped out after I left him.”
The complainant, Ifoghale, in his statement to the police, denied owing Ope any salary.
He said, “I am in shock. This was a guy I treated like a son. Aside from my wife, he was the closest person to me. He did my shopping for me. How can I owe him eight months’ salaries when he never worked for me during the period? He was never in my house during the period that he claimed.
“I called him more than twice when I got the report that my house was burgled. He told me he knew nothing about it. If he had told me that he needed money, I would have given him because we were still close even after he stopped working for me.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, advised members of the public to always run a background check on their domestic helps to avoid falling prey to criminals.
She said Ope and the other suspects had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigation.

Last year, Joke Silva expressed the opinion that she believes those who help sick actors shouldn’t publicise it.

Considered one of Nollywood’s most inspiring couple, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva are very much celebrated in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The entertainment couple have been praised for their contributions to the Nigerian film industry and promotion of the African heritage.

Popular Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim recently took to her social media page to air her displeasure about being called a half-caste.
The actress told a story of how someone she had a conversation with insisted she isn’t “black enough” to be called a black woman because of her skin colour.
Juliet Ibrahim.
The beautiful film star revealed people see her and her siblings as half-caste, a term she insists she finds offensive.
Her post reads ;
“I had a random conversation the other day with someone and it was appalling when he mentioned passively to me that he doesn’t see me as a #Blackwoman ! He argued, you are not “black enough” your skin isn’t dark enough, your hair not kinky enough. And thus my siblings and I do not “count” as Black.
Now this is Exactly, what we are fighting to correct amongst ourselves and the world at large. I am a black woman! When I’m abroad amongst the whites, I am classified and recognized as a black woman, however, right amongst us Africans I’ll be referred to as a Half-Caste! This is the most derogatory term to describe a person of mixed race or mixed ethnicity.
We are referred to as mixed race or multi-racial! Mixed race people are no less black than their dark-skinned counterparts. So, let’s all say NO to RACISM, TRIBALISM, COLORISM and SEGREGATION. Let’s teach and train our children to grow up and accept people for who they are and not by the color of their skin.”

Earlier today, we reported of how reality TV star and actress, Khafi Kareem reacted to the “toxic drama” that has emanated from the BBNaija reunion show.
According to the former housemate, bullying and pack mentality was encouraged which has turned the reunion show to a toxic one. In a lengthy post on her IG page, Khafi gave reasons why she’s appalled by the things that are being allowed to air on the show. Read here
In her post, Khafi said in part,
This being said, I will no longer be commenting or responding to anything said on the show. Every single housemate has my number – it is in the WhatsApp group (aka the “safe space” that resulted in shaming someone on national television) yet not one person who has aired a grievance had picked up the phone to call me to discuss or make me aware of any ill feelings they had towards me beforehand, knowing full well I would not be present on the show.
In a new development, the actress has been removed from the so-called WhatsApp group that supposedly has all the Pepper Dem housemates in it. Sharing a screenshot that she’s been removed from the group, Khafi wrote,
Lol I’ve just seen that I’ve been removed from the WhatsApp group. Thanks for saving me the trouble guys ✌?
See screenshot below,
This goes to show that there indeed is animosity among the Pepper Dem housemates. As the drama unfolds, we sure will keep y’all updated.
A 34-year-old housewife, Hauwa’u Sulaiman, of No. 70 Alfadarai in Zaria, also a mother of 13, gave birth to a set of quadruplets at the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital, Zaria, on Friday, June 5.
Sulaiman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Zaria that she had now been blessed with 17 children, adding that the set of the new quadruplets she was recently delivered of was her eighth delivery.
The mother and the babies were transferred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) for better care after she had been delivered of her latest pregnancy.
Sulaiman, however, said that the only male among the quadruplets died before they arrived ABUTH.
She said that the remaining three infants had been placed under observation at the pediatrics care unit and she (the mother) had been receiving medical care at the maternity ward.
She said that she received two bags of blood during the delivery processes.
“I am very healthy and strong but the medical experts advised that I need to be monitored very well before they can discharge me,’’ she said.
Her husband, Malam Sulaiman Mohammed, also said that his wife had twice in the past given birth to a set of triplets; a set of twins two times, and given birth to three babies at different times before the quadruplets.
Mohammed, a driver, expressed gratitude to Allah for the wonderful gift of the babies.
He added that it was his senior brother that was assisting him with the children whenever such needs arose.
Similarly, his mother, Saudatu Haruna; said that the birth of the quadruplets was not a surprise to them attributing it to inheritance, adding that she gave birth to a set of twins at three different occasions.
Haruna added that her mother was a triplet and her father was a twin stressing that the quadruplets were not coming to the family as a surprise to her.
Dr Isa Abdulkadir, the leading Consultant in the Pediatrics unit at ABUTH, said that the three babies were in good condition.
Popular Nigerian author, Reno Omkokri has said America treats African Americans far better than President Buhari treats Nigerians.
He made this known in a recent post he shared on his official Instagram page today, June 9.
Using the apprehension of George Floyd‘s killers as a case study, Reno faulted the Nigerian justice system.
According to him, Nigerians should quit shouting “Black Lives Matter” when their own lives don’t matter to their President.
Taking to the photo and video sharing platform, he wrote;
“George Floyd’s killers were arrested and charged within a week. The killer of the 347 Shiite men, women, children and infants (Buratai), was promoted by General @muhammadubuhari to Lt. General, Yet, Nigerians are shouting Black Lives Matter! Do your lives matter to Buhari in Nigeria? Almost a 100 people were killed in Benue in January 2018. Buhari ordered the then IGP, Ibrahim Idris, to relocate to Benue. Idris flouted the order. Nothing was done to him. Again, I ask Nigerians if our lives matter to Buhari? America treats African Americans far better than Buhari treats Nigerians. Can any American police force do to Americans what SARS is doing to Nigerians? Can you carry dreadlocks and confidently walk the streets in Nigeria? Yet you are doing Black Lives Matter!”

“Good deeds should be done with Intention not attention” — really interesting words from former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tacha in a recent tweet of hers on her page.
The brand influencer seems to have thrown a subtle shade at the people who defamed musician and ex-BBN housemate, Ella recently. Ella was attacked by her colleagues, Mercy and Venita during the BBNaija reunion show on Monday night. Read about it here and here
Not long after, self-acclaimed highest paid Nigerian sex therapist, Jaruma took to her page to reveal how Ella, a supposed con artiste, squandered the funds she gave her for house rent and her mother’s illness.
The defaming remarks made by these people were not really welcomed by some Nigerians and some of them took to social media to air their disappointment, especially at Ella’s colleagues.
One of such people who are not favourably disposed to the actions of Mercy, Venita and Jaruma, is not surprisingly, Tacha who took to her page to share her opinion.
In a tweet considered to be a subtle shade at the people who slandered Ella, Tacha says “When one lends a helping hand out of genuine concern, they don’t do it to brag”.
She wrote,
When you lend a helping hand out of GENUINE CONCERN, you don’t BRAG about how much of a good person you are.. GOOD DEEDS should be DONE with INTENTION not for ATTENTION.
In another tweet, she wrote,
strong women don’t have attitudes we have STANDARDS

A quite popular Nigerian Snapchat slay queen, Teju Pretty got a brutal embarrassment in her house by an Instagram vendor whose item she donned and slayed in without paying for it.
According to reports, Teju reportedly gave excuses at first before insulting the vendor who inquired as to why she was yet to transfer the money for the items she bought.
Teju went on to announce that she is doing a N45k giveaway and also tagged other vendors on the items she was yet to pay for.
The angry Instagram vendor then stormed her house earlier this morning with a soldier, and eventually got back her money. This however, will not the first time Teju Pretty will be involved in a “cloth scandal”.
Reality Star and Actress, Khafi Kareem, has reacted to the spate of toxic drama that has emanated from the BBNaija reunion show
According to the former housemate, bullying and pack mentality was encouraged which has turned the reunion show to a toxic one
Read her lengthy statement addressing the show ;
I have decided I will not be uploading a diary session in response to #BBNaijaReunion. [A Thread]
I just finished watching yesterday’s episode (I had only seen snippets) and am disgusted by how Ella was treated & what was permitted in light of such a sensitive situation
The reunion show has become toxic and a line was definitely crossed yesterday. I have always said that whilst Big Brother Naija is a reality TV show for viewers, we must always remember that we are dealing with REAL people’s feelings and REAL people’s emotions.
Depression and suicidal thoughts are REAL TOO and can easily be triggered by this pack mentality gang up and bullying that has been exhibited on the #BigBrotherNaijaReunion show thus far.
No matter how much make up someone wears or how pretty they look or dress on the outside, it means nothing if our hearts are hardened towards our fellow human beings and we lack empathy and respect towards ourselves.
I stand for light and love and genuinely believe in being good to one another, even if we don’t get it right all the time. Some participants on this show however are standing for the complete opposite and I will not encourage this behaviour by engaging with it.
This is despite the fact that myself and these persons have previously spoken on the phone jovially & would smile upon seeing me in public, assuring me that all had been forgiven & “what happened in the house stays in the house”, only for the show to uncover what was being harboured behind my back all this time.
I hold no hard feelings towards anyone and DID mean it when *I* said all was forgiven, but I understand that we all grow differently. For those who choose to continuously slander others in order to draw attention to themselves, I do hope it is worth it in the long run.
I had a fantastic time on BBNaija 4 PepperDem however the show has now ended & I have moved on. I hope you do too. May we all be known for the good that we leave behind, not the bad. I hereby wish everyone well.
Signed – Khafi “Your Favourite London Parrot” Kareem.

In a rather funny version of events, Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh and her estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill’s Caucasian lover, strangely share the same birthday.
The philanthropist and businessman took to his Instagram page earlier today, June 9th to wish his girlfriend a happy birthday.
He wrote,
“You are my angel on earth. Just a smile from you is enough to bring my darkest night to an end. Happy Wonderful birthday.”
In another post, he wrote,
Make sure you have fun on this special birthday, because you deserve it darling! Happy Birthday. #quietqueen
Recall that last year, Churchill wished the same lady a happy birthday with a lovely message and from the looks of things, their relationship is still waxing strong.
Churchill was married to Tonto Dikeh in 2015 and divorced her in 2017. Their marriage produced a child-Andre Omodayo Churchill.
