Nollywood actress and mother of four, Mercy Johnson Okojie has taken to her official Instagram account to shower praises on her husband, Prince Okojie as he turns a year older today.
The actress —who welcomed her fourth child recently— lauded her husband for all his efforts towards her and their family. She thanked him for always strengthening her whenever the going gets tough.
She wrote,

A Nigerian boy Timi Adelakun, 18 is being celebrated in the Inited States after he broke two records in his school.
He became the first black valedictorian of South Broward High School in Hollywood, Florida. Also, he made history again by having the highest GPA ever recorded at the school.
“Coming from a low-income community, it means a lot in general because of the way I was brought up,” Adelakun said in an interview ABC News.
Timi, who has a 5.604 GPA, is the youngest child of three siblings and neither of his parents attended college.
He said that his major accomplishment is somewhat bittersweet because his father – who was deported over a decade ago – won’t be there to celebrate with him.
Adelakun’s achievement comes after years of financial struggles.
At his young age, the teenager has had to help his mum pay bills by engaging in side hustles, such as graphic design and photography. To save money for the family, he sometimes walked to school if he missed the bus.

A case of domestic abuse has been reported in Anambra State as a young boy was left with rectal bleeding after he was allegedly battered by his father’s wife-to-be with a log of wood.
According to a facebook user identified as Nwokolo Uzoamaka, the prospective stepmother not only brutalized the boy, she also dipped his hand in hot water and applied pepper on the burnt hand before locking in up in a room.

Controversial Ghanaian cleric, Daniel Obinim has been arrested by the police.
Obinim, who is the founder and leader of International Godsway Church, has reportedly been on the wanted list of the police for a while now but has been trying to evade arrest.
However, He was finally arrested in his church on Thursday May 14, after the police received information that he was having a counseling session at the church.
Obinim upon inspecting the arrest warrant, reportedly told the police he needed a moment to change his cloth before leaving for the police station.
He came out few minutes later and claimed he couldn’t walk.
The police determined to effect the arrest took Obinim to a private hospital in East Legon, and placed policemen by his side.

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a 23-year-old man identified as Uchenna Mbahotu, for allegedly defiling two sisters.
The victims, aged 11 and nine of the same parents were allegedly raped by the suspect, who was their next door neighbour at Nkwor Orji in Owerri.
The spokesman of the police in the state, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, said that the suspect was arrested based on a report by one of the victims’ relatives.
He said the complainant stated that the suspect took advantage of the fact that they allow the kids get close to him as next-door neighbours to perpetrate the evil act.

A Ghanaian dad has been arrested by the police for battering his three-year-old son, Junior, for bedwetting and being stubborn.
26-year-old Ebenezer Nana Bonsu, disfigured the body of his son using a cane and a naked wire.
According to Ghanaian media, Ebenezer and his son’s mum live apart. The boy lived with his mum until in April when she took him to spend time with his father and also celebrate his 3rd birthday.
The constant abuse the boy suffered in the hands of his father pushed a neighbor to alert his mother who came immediately to pick up her child. She and other neighbors were shocked to see what the man had done to the little boy
The man was arrested while the little boy was taken to the Manhyia Hospital in Kumasi where he is currently receiving treatment.
Ebenezer was arraigned before a Ghanaian court yesterday for assault and causing harm to a child. He said he was innocent and that his actions were only to discipline his son. His lawyer put forward a bail for his release because he had been in police custody since his actions against his son was reported to the police. This plea was objected to by the Prosecutor, Inspector Regina Oparebea Amoako, who stated that the suspect would be a threat to the mother and the victim.
The judge granted him bail and refused to remand him in custody due to the Coronavirus pandemic. His trial will commence on May 21st.

Popular Nigerian Fuji music star, Alhaji Wasiu Ajani Tekoye aka Pure Water, has died a the age of 52.
The musician is reported to have died in the early hours of Thursday, May 14th, 2020, at his residence in Moshalashi, Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State.
His family announced that he will be buried according to Islamic rites at the family house by 10:00am on Friday May 15.
The statement read;
“The family of Olaifa has announced the sudden departure of fuji music legend, Alhaji Wasiu Ajani otherwise known as Tekoye.
“Tekoye, 52 died at the early hours of today Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his residence in Moshalashi Area of Alimosho Local Government in Lagos. He will be buried according to Islamic rites at the family house tomorrow at 10 in the morning.”

A man identified as Mr Chinedu Omeonu, reportedly killed his cousin, one Solomon Orji, at Mgboko Umuoria community in Obingwa council area of Abia State over mango fruits.
According to the report, the deceased had gone to Omeonu’s residence to pluck some mango fruits, but the latter assaulted the little boy who became unconscious.
When the boy’s father was informed about what happened to his son, he went to Omeonu’s residence to inquire about the incident.
An eyewitnesses said,
“Solomon’s son went to his father’s cousin residence to pluck some mangoes, but the owner, Omeonu beat him up. I think there were some problems between both families.
When Solomon got information about the beating of his son, he went to Mr Chinedu Omeonu’s house to inquire. After the exchange of words, Solomon took his son home. On his way home, Omeonu went after him with a cutlass and inflicted several cuts on his neck.”
The victim was said to have slumped and died before he could get medical attention.
Angered by the incident, youths of the community arrested Omeonu and handed him over to the Police.
When Vanguard contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, he replied he was not aware of the incident.

A Nigerian man identified with the username @TheVolqx has sparked off tribal controversy on Twitter following a tweet he shared insinuating that Igbo speaking people from the Southeatern part of Nigeria only love themselves on social media but not in real life.
@TheVolqx who took to the micro-blogging platform on Thursday, May 14, 2020 also said that no Igbo man has ever done anything for him in his entire lifetime.
Sharing the tweet, Volqx immediately came under fire as most Twitter users from the region he attacked flooded his thread dragging him on the streets of Twitter.
But unperturbed Volqx stood his ground maintaining that he would only take his tweet down if any Igbo family relative or friend of his can prove they’ve once helped him financially.

A baby who fell into a well is fortunate to be alive after Good Samaritans risked their lives to pull the child out.
In a video recorded in a south-eastern state, believed to be Anambra state from their dialect, a large crowd is seen gathered around the opening of a well as people screamed in confusion that a child had fallen into the well.
A brave man managed to enter the deep well and tied a rope around the child. Those at the mouth of the well then pulled the rope up, bringing the child out alive and well.
Some assumed the child had swallowed so much water and tried to press the child’s tummy to force out the water. But they were assured that the ”child is fine.”
