Bola Tinubu and wife test negative for COVID19 after his Chief Security officer died from COVID19 complications

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Bola Tinubu and his wife, Remi Tinubu, have tested negative for COVID-19.

This was contained in a statement released by his spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, today April 27th.

Recall that last Friday 24th, Lateef Raheem, the 51-year-old former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Tinubu died following complications of COVID19. He was said to have suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes which might have been complicated by his infection with COVID-19.

Following Lateef’s death, Tinubu requested for a test to be carried out on him, his family members and aides. The results came in today and they were negative. However, one of his aide’s reuslt came back positive.

Read the full statement from Tinubu’s media aide below

Covid-19 is a real and present threat. Those of us who discount it or claim it is a fabrication do a grave and dangerous disservice to the public well-being. Likewise, those who stigmatise people who may have been stricken by the virus also do a disservice by casting blame on the innocent and discouraging people from taking the COVID test. We cannot defeat this health menace through ignorance or by shaming one another. We can only beat it through transparency, knowledge and compassion. This, we have learned first-hand.

Following the death of our well-respected and beloved Chief Security Officer, Alhaji Lateef Raheem, NCDC medics took the wise precaution of taking samples from his body for testingto actually determine the cause of death.Today, the test results are back. The samples tested positive for Covid-19.

As a precautionary measure taken soon after the death of Alhaji Raheem, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and all their aides took COVID-19 tests Saturday, April 25. The results of the tests were returned this morning.

Test results for both Asiwaju and Senator Tinubu were negative.

The results of one aide were positive. The rest of the staff was negative. The one staff member has been isolated in accordance with NCDC guidelines. Further contact tracing and COVID-19 tests are being conducted by the NCDC with regard to the relatives and possible contacts of that staff member.

Asiwaju has stressed that openness and transparency must be observed if we are to defeat this disease. There is no house immune to its entry. Contracting the virus should not bring social or moral stigma any more than contracting malaria or a common cold.

We cannot overcome this challenge by acting like it does not exist or by trying to conceal that someone may have it due to social shame. The culture of denial is counterproductive and will do great harm in our current situation.

Asiwaju asks that you not be afraid to be tested if you have any symptoms or if you believe you may have come in contact with someone who has been infected. We must do all we can to contain the spread of the virus and to well treat those of us who have been hit by it.

As you go about your day, we know you must find daily sustenance. Yet, please continue to do all you can to maintain social distance and to take all other public health measures to protect yourself and others. In this way, we all may contribute to halt the spread of this dangerous virus.

Tinubu Media Office,

Tunde Rahman.

Senegal develops one of the world’s most affordable Coronavirus testing kits which costs $1 each and $60 3D printed ventilators

The Republic of Senegal has according to reports, developed one of the world’s most affordable Coronavirus testing kits, which costs $1 each and $60 3D printed ventilators.

A laboratory in the West African country used its AIDS and Ebola experience to develop a $1 COVID-19 testing kit and ventilators that cost just $60.

Despite Senegal’s low budget for health, the West African nation has recorded the highest recovery rate in Africa so far and the 3rd highest recovery rate in the world. 283 of its 671 Coronavirus patients have recovered and 9 have died.

The high recovery rate is due to Senegal’s affordable Coronavirus test kits which makes it possible to test and treat more people as compared to other countries.

Unlike most countries that wait till patients start exhibiting symptoms before tests are carried out due to shortage of test kits, Senegal is testing everyone who indicates interest, symptoms or not, and this has helped them identify those affected early to allow them begin treatment before the illness progresses.

Senegal has no shortage of testing kits and it’s all thanks to this lab.

Also, with a scarcity of ventilators in the country, Senegal’s engineers are using a 3D printing machine to produce more ventilators. Imported ventilators cost $16,000 but the one manufactured by Senegal engineers cost only $60.

Senegal has managed to keep the spread of Coronavirus down to one of the world’s lowest rates and have developed a cheap, effective test that can be mass produced and globally distributed.

Khafi prays fervently with Tacha after Jackye Madu labelled her a snake (Video)

Few hours after their colleague labelled one of them “a snake”, Big Brother Naija reality TV stars, Khafi and Tacha resorted to fervent prayers against people who don’t want them to rest.

Khafi prays fervently

Jackye Madu had hosted a question and answer session on her Instagram page, with her followers and was rather blunt with her answers.

A follower asked the ‘Tech queen’ if she was still friends with Khafi, and her response seems as one who still holds grudges against the latter.

“I don’t like snakes”, she stated.

It should be recalled that while in the house, Jackye made claims that she’d been feeling bad omen around Tacha and thought of her as a witch – she backed up her claim by stating that she saw fetish items with Tacha which made her speculate.

Khafi prays fervently

Well, Khafi… on her Instagram page, not too long ago, held a prayer session with her followers on the live feature and one of the people who featured in the session was Tacha.

In course of their prayer, which was anchored by Tacha, they’re heard praying fervently against “witches and wizards” who don’t want them to rest… praying that God takes away good fortune from them if they don’t want others to have good fortune.

The prayer points certainly shouldn’t be unconnected with the fact that Jackye took a swipe against them… Watch the video below,

South Korea denies death of Kim Jong-Un, amid escalating reports

The South Korea Government has denied reports that North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is dead, stating that the dictator of the hermit nation is ‘alive and well‘.

There had been media reports in Chinese, Korean and American outlets that the ruler was in a very poor state physically after undergoing heart surgery last week.

South Korea denies death

Reports of Kim’s poor health emanated after he missed the celebration of his grandfather’s birthday on April 15, a very important celebration that he never misses. He had been seen four days before that at a politburo meeting, according to North Korean state media, KCNA.

Daily NK, an online newspaper based in South Korea that focuses on North Korea, reported last week that Kim received a cardiovascular procedure because of “excessive smoking, obesity, and overwork.” The paper added that the leader is now receiving treatment in a villa in Hyangsan County.

On Saturday, reports indicated that China had sent top doctors to North Korea to ‘advise’ the North Korean leader leading to more speculation that Kim could be in a vegetative state.

According to TMZ, a Hong Kong-backed news channel’s vice director who’s apparently the niece of a Chinese foreign minister stated that Kim Jong-un is dead.

But South Korea, North Korea’s neighbors have denied the negative reports on Kim’s health.

“Our government position is firm,” Moon Chung-in, the top foreign policy adviser to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, told CNN. “Kim Jong Un is alive and well. He has been staying in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been detected.”

North Korea controls any information surrounding Kim Jong-Un. The country has no free press and foreign media houses have to rely on State media reporting, state propaganda videos and satellite imagery to get information about the country’s leadership.

Revealed: Reason why Davido called Mercy Johnson and her husband Wicked & Evil.

Yesterday, there were reports that Mercy Johnson had given birth to her fourth child, which later turned out false, after her husband, Prince Okojie debunked the news saying, “My wife has not given birth yet”.

Eniola Badmus who shared the news on her Instagram page, had congratulated the couple on the birth of their fourth child.

Davido who is a close friend to the Badmus had written; “Wicked pple …. congrats tho,”

When a follower asked Davido the reason behind his post calling out the couple, Davido replied: “Nothing just evil set of pple that’s all.”

It has now been revealed that the tension between him and the Okojies may be connected to a failed business deal he had with Mr. Okojie in January, 2020.

It was gathered that the singer was billed to perform at the opening ceremony of Okojie’s hotel in Abule Egba, Lagos, in January.

Mercy Johnson Husband’s Hotel.

Son allegedly brutalizes father and mother over land dispute in Delta State

A disturbed father is lamenting after his son, a primary school teacher allegedly beat him and his wife up over land in Delta state.

Benson Ekpenisi, 78, who hails from Owan-Nta Aliosimi in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, revealed that himself and his wife have faced so much suffering in the hands of their fifth son, Patrick Ekpenisi, who teaches at Okundaye Primary School.

According to Benson, the latest attack Patrick launched on him and his wife was over a parcel of land offered for sale by him – Benson.

Mr Benson stated that his son was enraged after he discovered that he (Benson) planned to sell a piece of land to repair the leaking roof of his house and use the rest to take care of their needs.

Speaking to Ika Times newspaper, Pa Benson Ekpenisi said,

“The story started many years ago when my son Patrick Ekpenisi who is the fifth among my children had been threatening to kill me and the mother and he had been saying it with the boast that he has political and royal backup.

“On several occasions, he had said that no policeman from Ika North East and Ika South Local Government can arrest him because he will be released by the politicians in Ika federal constituency.”

Benson Ekpenisi continued,

“I was sitting under a palm tree in my compound on Friday when Patrick came out from his house, which is opposite mine at Boji-Boji Owa-Nta, Aliosimi, and started pointing fingers at me and shouting that the land I was about to sell to repair my leaking roof could not be sold, that it should be given to him.

“I told him that he couldn’t tell me what to do with my own land. Besides, the land where he built his house was given to him by me. That was how trouble started and he hit my head on the palm tree.

The publication, in its report, claims that Patrick carried his father up and slammed him on the ground several times, and also tried killing him by hitting his head against the palm tree he was sitting under but the old man managed to escape.

Benson Ekpenisi added,

“My son threatened to kill me and his mother; he broke the plastic chair his mother was sitting on and used it to hit her head, but the old woman was quick enough to run into the house through the back door and locked the door against him. He tried breaking the door with some objects but didn’t succeed.”

Benson said that that was not the first time that Patrick would beat him and his wife up. He lamented that he has reported the matter to several authorities, including to the Owa Oyibu Divisional Police Station, but none has been able to intervene.

The distraught father called on the state government and other relevant authorities to quickly come to his aide before his son kills him and his wife.

Another son of Benson Ekpenisi, David Ekpenisi, complained about his brother’s behavior.

He said,

“I am speechless. For over three years, Patrick, a primary school teacher, has never allowed my parents to rest. I am calling on the AIG, the DPO of Owa-Oyibu, the NUT Ika North-East and the governor of Delta State to come to our aid.

“Patrick boasted countless times that he is above the law.”

According to a report by Ghana Web, Ghana Health Service (GHS) confirmed the 271 new cases on Sunday to take their total number to 1,550. A new death from the disease was also recorded.

The death toll in the country now stands at 11 with 155 persons recovering from the disease.

Ghana Health Service data analysis also revealed that 62 percent of infected persons in Ghana are male while 38 percent are female.

It was also revealed that only about 16 percent of infected persons have a travel history with a staggering 84 percent having no clear history of travel.

Not more than a week ago, Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo lifted a three-week lockdown in two cities, Accra and Kumasi citing improved coronavirus testing and the “severe” impact of the restrictions on the poor and vulnerable in the country.

According to him, the decision did not mean the government was letting its guard down, saying existing bans on public gatherings and school closure were still in place.

He urged Ghanaians to wear masks when going outside and to continue adhering to social distancing measures put in place to halt the spread of Coronavirus.
