“The hospital has been cooperating with NCDC, WHO and all other health agencies that have called or visited since the incident.

“The hospital had been decontaminated on April 15 working with NCDC and following the guidelines stipulated by NCDC. Though NCDC counselled that they can start normal work after one (1) hour of decontamination, the hospital decided to remain closed and reopen for business on Friday, April 17, 2020.

“In line with guidelines prescribed by NCDC, those who visited the facility between April 11 and April 15 should immediately self isolate, stay at home and avoid contact with people including your family (by staying in a room) for 14 days.”

We cannot start neglecting or sending away patients because we think they may have covid 19. Patient have to test positive before you can send them to the isolation centre. Wearing of face mask now compulsory in Oyo – Gov. Makinde

The Oyo state government says wearing of face masks in public places is now compulsory.

Gov. Seyi Makinde announced this on Friday in Ibadan while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State COVID-19 Taskforce meeting held at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

Makinde, who noted that the directive was one of the measures to prevent, curtail and control the spread of coronavirus, said that the State COVID-19 Taskforce had reached a decision to implement the measure. “If you must leave your house to any public place, then you must wear face mask,” he said.

He also said the state government would produce an initial one million face masks to kick start the mask wearing policy in the state.

The governor also said that 100 tailors would be inaugurated on Monday for the production of 10,000 face masks each, adding that his government was collaborating with experts who had designed the face mask model to train the tailors.

Makinde said that each of the 100 tailors would engage the services of others and each cluster would be able to produce 2,000 daily thereby hitting the target of 10,000 within the week.

The governor further said that the resumption date for workers had been tentatively shifted to April 27, adding that the new resumption date would still be subjected to further evaluation. He attributed the postponement to the report of the new cases of COVID-19 in the state.

The governor further disclosed that two persons tested positive to the coronavirus on Friday. According to him, two persons also tested positive to the disease on Thursday, bringing to 15 the cases of COVID-19 in the state.

Makinde said his administration had taken proactive steps to ensure food security in the state by working with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and other Ibadan-based agricultural institutes to provide seeds and seedlings to farmers. “Efforts have been made to enlighten the farmers on how to stay safe from COVID-19 so that they will not miss the present planting season.

“On palliatives, a lot of pressure has been mounted on the government to share palliatives, but the date we met on ground is not accurate. “If we had used it, the items would have gone to the wrong hands. But now, we have our own data and we have double checked and the data is authentic. “Hopefully, before the end of next week, we will share the palliative to the public,’’ the governor said.

Ghanian Minister accuses Bishop Obinim of sleeping with his junior pastor’s wife; he responds

The underlying infamous beef between Ghanaian Legislator, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong and self-acclaimed ‘Angel of God’, Bishop Daniel Obinim is not showing signs of a dissolution anytime soon as the MP has made fresh allegations against the man of God.

Ghanian Minister accuses Bishop Obinim

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong —a Member of Parliament for Assin Central in Ghana— made the recent allegations during an interview on Net2 Tv’s “The Seat” show.

Agyapong launched the fresh attack after Obinim’s wife, Florence Obinim defended her husband while reacting to the allegations the legislator made against him weeks ago.

Hon Agyapong said to Obinim back in March,

“If you have the power to heal why have you not heal your own father up till now? You are a Fool!! He is suffering on the sickbed with leg rotten and you seem to care less about that. Nobody should step in I will deal with him”

Kennedy Agyapong also claimed that Bishop Obinim and his Junior Pastors have been sleeping with their female Church members. He went on to allege that the popular Bishop scammed his female member.

After Florence Obinim defended her husband, Hon. Agyapong reacted in a new video by attacking the her, calling her a “foolish woman“.

In the interview containing fresh allegations by the MP, he shares that Bishop Obinim has had an affair with the blood sister of his wife identified as Jemima.

He mentioned that because of his affair with her, he was able to use his wife to stop the marriage ceremony between Jemima and her suitor. Hon Kennedy Agyapong added that, Bishop Obinim also forced Jemima to have a abortion for him to hide his acts from the public.

Ghanian Minister accuses Bishop Obinim

The MP also accused the Bishop of sleeping with his junior Pastor’s wife. According to the MP, the junior Pastor, known as Saviour, personally narrated to him the issues which necessitated his departure from Obinim’s Church to join his supposed rival, Reverend Obofuor.

The MP showed alleged conversations between Obinim and Pastor Saviour in which he (Obinim) threatened him (Saviour) with death. The MP promised to bring the man himself on TV to narrate his story if Obinim denies his allegations.

Reacting to the allegations from the MP, Bishop Obinim, who is the head pastor of God’s Way International Church, stated that all the claims by Kennedy Agyapong are lies.

Obinim added that henceforth he is not going to engage the legislator further, neither will he respond to any of his allegations.

Before that time, there was speculated to be an underlying beef between the two artistes and this was fueled by their respective fans who were quick to debate on who’s better between the both of them.

Tiwa Savage’s gesture of bringing Yemi Alade up her stage during her concert and sharing a hug while at it, was geared at making people realize that they both possess mutual respect for each other and as such, shouldn’t be pitched against each other.

Now, in an Instagram live session Yemi Alade featured, the lovely polyglot singer is heard saying “there’s so much to look up to in Tiwa Savage” and the feeling is mutual but the only problem is the people always trying to pit them against themselves.

The songstress goes on to say that rather than people trying to turn one against the other, they should just accept the difference in their art and appreciate them.

“FG cannot provide free electricity, it’s a propaganda” – Transmission company of Nigeria

The Managing director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Usman Mohammed has stated that the Nigerian federal government cannot provide free electricity to its citizens.

Transmission company

While speaking on Thursday April 16, the head of the agency owned by the federal government said the proposal for “free electricity” is mere propaganda.

In Usman’s own words,

“There is this information that went round that power is going to be free. I don’t know where that information came from.

“But I can tell you that there is nothing like power is going to be free because the federal government cannot make power free. The federal government does not own the power.

“In the electricity industry, apart from transmission, which is just the transporter, all the other chains do not belong to the federal government. So, I cannot understand how somebody will concoct that information.

“But these are some of the people involved in propaganda who brand information that is very unnecessary, to be honest.

“I think at this stage what we need to do is to sustainably supply electricity and that is what we are doing.”
