Beautiful Nigerian singer, Waje has said she won’t be joining her colleagues in doing giveaways after a follower encouraged her to so.
The singer said this after series of her fellow celebrities took their time out to do giveaways to people online to help them get supplies for the lockdown.
A follower called the singer out to do giveaway, and she replied simply saying ‘No’
See their exchange below;
The follower tweeted: “@OfficialWaje do giveaway.”
And Waje replied simply: “No”
She added: “Should I explain why? If you will allow me I will. See, this period is tough for everyone. Don’t be fooled by social media gimmicks but, the ones who have the hit are those in the slums, people who can’t even afford data. Nursing mothers with no food. Old people with no pension.
“So they are my focus, if I had more than enough, I’ll do giveaway but I don’t so what I have I give to #addacup that’s distributing food and basics to people in lagos, Abuja,Akwa,Benin. Everyone has to do something. So I’m sorry I can’t do giveaway this season.”
She concluded: “So don’t waste your time and send Acct details cause I can’t afford it. Addacup has my attention for now. Stay safe. God bless. No shame in speaking my truth. Some artist are doing giveaway, take advantage of their kindness and use it wisely.”

The Nigeria Centre for disease control, NCDC, yesterday announced Twenty-three new cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria, listing the number in affected states as ; 9 in Lagos, 7 in the FCT, 5 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Bauchi State.
Blood sample with respiratory coronavirus positive
However, in a fresh development, Akwa Ibom state Government rejected the result and asked the agency to conduct another series of tests.
The state government cited irregularities as it’s reason for the rejection.
Below is a statement issued by the state government on Thursday ;
“We observed a disturbing breach in the test and reporting procedure. Akwa Ibom State Government only heard about the test results in the news
“The Director-General of NCDC was not aware of the reported result announcement.
“All five reported positive test cases have been contacted and they have shown no COVID-19 symptoms.
“While the tests were being processed in NCDC-approved test facilities, all suspected cases were held in isolation.
“Several sample batches have been previously sent for testing from Akwa Ibom State and they all returned negative results.
“Owing to the irregularities observed in the testing and reporting procedure, Health Care Professionals in Akwa Ibom State have called for an immediate reconfirmation test on the five reported cases.”
Coronavirus started from Wuhan, a town in China and has spread to over 45 countries. (Business Insider)
The World Health Organization has revealed that the cases of Coronavirus could rise to 1 million in the coming days.
According to the Director-General of the organization, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, even though relatively lower numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported from Africa, Central and South America, the virus could have serious social, economic and political consequences for these regions of the world.
Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus said;
“Over the past five weeks, we have witnessed a near exponential growth in the number of new COVID-19 cases, reaching almost every country, territory and area. “The number of deaths has more than doubled in the past week. “In the next few days, we will reach one million confirmed COVID-19 cases and 50,000 deaths,” he said.
“It is critical that we ensure these countries are well equipped to detect, test, isolate and treat COVID-19 cases, and identify contacts.
“I am encouraged to see that this is occurring in many countries, in spite of limited resources. “Many countries are asking people to stay at home and shutting down population movement, which can help to limit transmission of the Coronavirus.
“But it can have unintended consequences for the poorest and most vulnerable people.”
Reno Omokri has defended the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning after it went on Twitter to beg Tesla CEO Elon Musk for ventilators to treat coronavirus victims in Nigeria.
Tesla co-founder, Elon Musk tweeted that he has ventilators to donate to hospitals worldwide for immediate use and the official Twitter account of Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance responded, asking him to send to Nigeria – a move Nigerians thought was inappropriate
However, Reno thinks what they did was not wrong.
Reacting to it, he wrote: “There was NOTHING wrong with what the Ministry of Finance did, by begging Elon Musk for ventilators. No nation was prepared for the novel #CoronaVirus. Ventilators are the most sought after materiel commodity on Earth. They were only trying to save lives by whatever means they had. New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo begged for ventilators on TV! It is not a disgrace to beg to save lives!”

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has told security forces they should shoot dead anyone causing “trouble” in areas locked down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Asian Country has so far detected 2,311 cases and reported 96 deaths forcing it into a two-week lock down which has resulted in poor families and workers complaining of not having food to eat.
The authoritarian leader has now ordered his military to kill anyone who disobeys government lock down rules, hours after some people from a slum community were arrested for holding a protest during the lock down.
President Duterte said; “My orders are to the police and military, also village officials, that if there is trouble or the situation arises that people fight and your lives are on the line, shoot them dead, instead of causing trouble, I’ll send you to the grave.”
A while back, Nigerian Instagram sensation, Sydney Talker took to social media to reveal the alleged ineffectiveness of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC after he stated that he was showing symptoms of the virus.
The popular Instagram sensation had first off made a video of himself trying to reach out to the NCDC to no avail, thereby questioning the effectiveness at a critical time like this.
His narrative was accompanied with photos and videos showing him in an uneasy state with people surrounding him. These photos and videos sparked mixed reactions with people thinking the comedian was just pulling one of his usual pranks.
Days went by with no update from the comedian after that… not until moments ago that he took to his page to share his test results of the virus.
He shared the photo with a caption asking people why they’d feel he’s pulling a prank with the expense of his life. He wrote,
My Test Results just got in from Lagos State Ministry of Health and thankfully it is NEGATIVE.
To those who felt this was a PRANK or CLOUT CHASING, I have just one question ” Why would I chase clout at the expense of my life ? ”
To everyone who prayed for me in my weakest moment and for quick recovery, I pray that on the day you are in distress may you also find help and recieve prayers IJN Amen

The Federal Ministry of Finance is currently being dragged to filth by Nigerians on social media after the ministy pleaded for assistance of 100 to 500 ventilators from tech Billionaire, Elon Musk.
Elon Musk had announced his intention of shipping FDA-approved ventilators to hospitals worldwide within Tesla delivery regions in his effort to battle the global pandemic, coronavirus.
His tweet reads ;
We have extra FDA-approved ventilators. Will ship to hospitals worldwide within Tesla delivery regions. Device & shipping cost are free. Only requirement is that the vents are needed immediately for patients, not stored in a warehouse. Please let me or @Tesla know.
The official handle of the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Finance then replied the tweet stating the country needed 100 to 500 ventilators ;
Dear @elonmusk @Tesla, Federal Government of Nigeria needs support with 100-500 ventilators to assist with #Covid19 cases arising every day in Nigeria.
However, Nigerians frowned at the tweet and tagged it shameful for the Ministry to make such a demand despite the fact that many Billionaires pledged/donated funds to meet such needs.
See some reactions below ;
Over 10 Billion naira been donated to fight pandemic, yet our Ministry of finance & budget is under Tesla owner Elon musk comment section doing bambiala for money to buy equipment, money they will probly embezzle again.
The script writer of this country was drunk when writing
What of all the Billion donations by the rich, where is the money???? And also it's even more annoying when I remember we budgeted N37B for renovation of National assembly.
U can't even send a proper letter, you're replying like someone under a celeb giveaway tweet
Begging Elon Musk for help but will send twitter trolls to attack Nigerian entrepreneurs who employ Nigerians, create wealth and pay taxes, just because they criticised the government. Never knew this day would come.
So the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Finance has reduced itself to a common Twitter beggar because of #COVIDー19 ? What differentiates them from the guys who drop account numbers under David's Tweets?
A Nigerian man has taken to his Facebook page to give the narrative of how a supposed ungrateful lady blasted him for giving her a minute amount of money to stock up amid the Cororvirus lockdown.
ID Okorie on Facebook took to his page to share how he’d budgeted an amount of money to be disbursed to those in need because of the lockdown in the country.
He revealed that while majority of the beneficiaries who received tokens in 10k, 5k, 4k divisions were totally grateful for his gesture, one of them however showed vile ingratitude which had him come on social media to rant.
According to him, one Uche Nilla Amechi who he says got the sum of 10k from him was quite ungrateful over the amount that she took to his DM to slam him for the gesture. He revealed that he’d initially spoken with her on the phone where she was nagging about the money and he out of disgust, dropped the call.
He says it was thereafter the lady took to this DM to slam him further. He reveals how the lady is a somewhat old acquaintance who he’d been in touch with before the whole saga and he’d had his doubts about her motives before.
He wrote alongside screenshots of their chats below,
The moment government began to talk about Nation wide or states lockdown i knew there will be so many outcry for help so i budgeted N300,000 for those that will need my help from 300k i increased to half a million for families, social media friends and Neighbors. One of them who approached me that she has no food at home was Uche Nilla Amaechi.
The #500k was shared between 10k,5k and 4k many people here on Facebook Benefited, there is a man here that reside in Kaduna in his message he said ” even breakfast for that morning 30th he doesnt have in his house” He also benefited.
All the beneficiaries were grateful many send prayers, the only ingrate among them was Uche Nilla Amechi who called to tell me that the 10k i send to her is not enough to buy what she needed,I almost gone mad and dropped the call.Note: she is not my lady, relatives, staff neither am i asking her out ,she is just like every other persons that asked for help.
This corporate Abuja runs girl who has been pestering me to introduce her to my friend and a top NNPC staff couldn’t even say thank you rather she asked me if the money was for her to buy maggi or what,i have asked her to return the money back let me give it to those that will appreciate it.
It’s over 72hrs and she has not rather she went ahead to insult me. Nobody got more than 10k,2 of my cousins got same 10k each are here on fb.If by the end of lockdown and she failed to return it i dont mind spending over 100k to recover that 10k. The sugar daddies they sleep with that throws money around with them are now with their families and cant pick their calls hence they result to social media begging yet she cant value 10k and at same time the hungry girl can not afford to return it.
There are so many people giving a helping hand to people without making noise about it and ingrate like Uche Nilla Amechi Amechi shouldn’t be benefiting.
I warned her several to return the money and she kept on insulting me.
A reaction was expected from the accused lady and a reaction was got. Uche Nilla Amechi, who has now deactivated her account on the platform had found a medium to reveal her own side of the story.
According to her, she and Okorie were online acquaintances and she was only interested in him because she thought he had a connection with someone in the oil and gas business and she had been trying to get in touch with this person to discuss business, so she thought Okorie could be her plug.
She says, upon a few conversations, she got to realize that he didn’t have person’s connect but had just taken a photo with the person, but still she engaged him in conversations.
She went on to reveal that recently, Okorie buzzed her to ask how she’s fairing with the Covid lockdown in the country and in course of their conversation, offered to help her.
She said when he sent her 10k, she thought he was joking and so put a call through to him and it was after he hung up on her that she got exasperated and took to his DM to state her displeasure.
She says she never begged him for money as she’s not hungry but was only acknowledging his offering of help. She shared screenshots of the genesis of their conversation writing,
Firstly, I want to start by saying thank you to all those who have actually defended me even without knowing me and those also that know me and are still defending me! THANK YOU
Secondly, this man ID OKORIE had always texted me here on fb for a long Time; I used to ignore him, barely replied or sometimes replied with one word, until sometime last month(feb) when I realised he’s In the oil and gas sector and I am too, so i thought I could actually have him as a contact.. We never know!
I was going through his pictures sometime ago and discovered he took a picture with someone who was a top Boss in NNPC and I told him about some petroleum products trading I was into and we(I and my colleague) have been trying to reach the man he took a picture with, if he’s close to him so that he could take us to his office just for contract purposes.
After our conversation I realised he didnt know the man or have any personal relationship with him, he just took the photo with him at an event.
Fast forward to the issue on ground, he texted me on fb sometime last week asking me how I was coping with the lockdown and all, I said I’m fine, he now said If I needed anything( food stuffs or provision) I said if you are offering I dont mind. He then suggested that I call a supermarket to order and have it delivered, he would pay!
I told him I have never heard of supermarkets doing delivery and even if they do, now they are very busy because of the whole panic buying and might not be able to deliver he could send me the money and I would get it when I go out, he said okay… After a while I got an alert of 10k I called him immediately and jokingly said so its 10k you sent.
If they were going to deliver to me, for instance i ordered, do u think it’s going to be 10k? I was still talking and he hung up. I got angry and sent him a message, the one he allegedly screen shotted telling him not to ever end the call on me again, I didnt ask him for nothing, he offered! After which I deleted and blocked him on fb and messenger..
He sent me a message later that day to my WhatsApp to return the money to him, I saw it and ignored because, I saw it late at night… only for me to wake today to so many lies that he said he didnt know me, he was doing a giveaway and I begged him for money, I asked him to introduce me for whatever purposes etc..
Now, why didnt he post the chats where I begged him to add me to his giveaway or from the beginning to support his claims? He only screen shotted the conversation that followed after he hung up on me just to try to tarnish my image or portray me as a bad person…
I suppose if u want to tell the whole world how I begged you for food or covid 19 allowance like I saw in some posts.. u would screen shot that exact message as the evidence or where I told you to introduce me to someone for runs or whatever purpose..
However, I took down my Facebook account because when someone drew my attention to his post this morning, I immediately went there to try to clear the air because I already deleted my chat with him and blocked him after he hung up on me so I didnt really have any proof other than our WhatsApp chat after he claimed he didnt know me before.
While I was trying to post it I noticed he was deleting my comments and eventually blocked me, suddenly the traffic to my page, friend requests, following people commenting under my pictures and my notifications was beeping rapidly; didnt know how to manage it so I deactivated my account…. I never begged this man for money or ask to participate in his giveaway neither did I ask to be introduced to anyone for the wrong reasons!
There are always two sides to a story before you judge, castigate or tarnish someone’s image pls always find out the truth or at least hear from the other person

The legislation comes on the heels of the country’s ban of all trade and consumption of wild animals, a practice, which scientists believe is responsible for the deadly virus that has turned into a global pandemic.
According to the document, nine types of livestock are suitable for people to eat. They are pigs, cows, sheep, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese and pigeons.
In China, coronavirus has claimed 3,312 lives and infected more than 81,500 people since the outbreak started in Wuhan.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has given the reason why the State can’t go on total lockdown over Coronavirus, days after President Buhari issued an order which restricted movement in Abuja, Ogun and Lagos.
The Governor who tested positive for the virus shared that he opted for a curfew instead of a total lockdown due to the high rate of poverty in the state.
He stated that a curfew will enable residents carry out their daily activities and earn daily incomes amidst the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state.
Speaking on a Fresh FM programme, Governor Makinde said,
“My own background is engineering and I kept saying to people that as an engineer, you take decisions that are based on logic and fact. It’s an uncharted territory. We kept on interacting with the experts to find out what are the facts emerging.
“Yes, Lagos can be on lockdown, Ogun can be on lockdown, Oyo State, yes, people have been saying have a total lockdown and then I have been asking them questions. What will be the benefits here? Are there alternative courses of action for us to take?
“If you ask people not to come out, you lock down the market places, there are people that what they sell today – the profit from today’s activities is what they will eat tomorrow. There are plenty people like that within our environment. So, are there alternatives available to us? Can we do selective lockdown? That’s why I imposed the curfew, to say limit interactions.
“I think, everything is on the table but it has to follow a logical pattern and it will need the input of experts. We are not just going to lock down because everyone is locking down.”
Governor Makinde went to disclose that he would follow the steps of some foreign countries that have successfully contained the virus.
He added,
“I have been watching CNN and the most successful place right now in containing this is the Czech Republic. And one of the things they brought out is that they made a law that if you must leave your house, you must wear a mask.
“It may be that route for us to go. I have asked them to start evaluating that. If we must make that law and say everybody that must go out must wear a mask, then, how about those who cannot afford it? Can we make masks locally? Can we get our artisans and our tailors to commit to that with the government supporting? So, those are the type of solutions we are looking for.”
On social media, Twitter particularly, some transgender men and women took to the platform to share their before and after photos using the hashtag #TransDayOfVisibility.
The before and after photos which were shared by members of the minority community who were formerly men and women, have left users of the platform and social media at large, in shock due to the changes they’ve undergone in the span of a few years.
Some of the ladies who were men before, now possess feminine qualities that an average man would never have thought of them being the male sex before.
Some shared their photos for the trend of it, while some others said they’re only sharing it so they could use the opportunity to educate people about their lives.
The photos has since gone viral on the internet with a lot of people baffled over the changes these people have made on their bodies in a short while.
Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mode-Damijo has called out Nigerian customs to release seized food items in their custody so that Nigerians can feed on them during this challenging period.
According to the 58 year old, the Federal Government should order the release of seized food items by Nigerian custom so that it will help to feed Nigerians in this critical period.
In his words;
“Sitting here wondering if this wont be a good time for government to ask Customs about all the plenty seized rice, tomato, vegetable oil and all the other food items they have in their possession and give out to our people in need.
Whilst thanking them for reduced fuel prices at this time (inject smiley face)and all the other efforts so far, food is a major part of this lock down. I know sometimes the agencies of govt dont work as a team but please this is the time for customs to step and tell us how much relief they can bring to nigerians. #giveoutseizedfooditems”
Nigerian film maker, Moses Inwang, is of the opinion that the Coronavirus pandemic has shown that the United States of America is no longer the World’s leading country.
He took to Instagram page to share the “23 lessons” the pandemic has taught him since it began.
Read below;
Few important lessons learnt in the past few days:
1. United States is no longer the world’s leading country.
2. China won the 3rd World War without firing a missile and no one could handle it.
3. Europeans are not as educated as they appear.
4. We can survive vacations without trips to Europe and USA.
5. Rich people are in fact less immune to diseases than the poor.
6. Human beings are opportunistic and despicable no matter their socioeconomic position when prices are rising.
7. No Pastor, Rabai, Mullah, Alfa or Pandit saved patients. Doctors and healthcare workers did.
8. Human beings are the real viruses on the planet.
9. We sure can spend Billions of Dollars on the poor without red- tapism.
10. Health professionals are worth more than sports’ persons and entertainers.
11. Oil is worthless in a society without consumption.
12. How animals feel in the zoo.
13. The planet regenerates quickly without humans at play.
14. Majority of people can work from home.
15. We and the kids can survive without junk food.
16. Prisoners in jail for petty crimes can be released.
17. Living a hygienic life is not difficult.
18. Only women should not know how to cook.
19. There are a lot of good people in the World.
20. If you build more schools and make them free, you will have to construct less hospitals and probably prisons.
21.Media is just manipulative and opportunistic.
22. Fame, wealth and position are vanity.
23. Health is indeed wealth.
An Italian nurse allegedly strangled his doctor girlfriend to death because “she gave him Coronavirus.”
After committing the crime, 28-year-old Antonio De Pace reportedly called cops to tell them he had murdered young medic, Lorena Quaranta, 27.
When Police arrived at the scene, they found her dead in their apartment in Italy, while De Pace was found on the floor having cut his wrists but his colleagues were able to save his life at their hosiptal.
The young couple had been working in a local hospital in Messina, Sicily after they were drafted to help during the coronavirus crisis.
De Pace allegedly confessed: “I killed her because she gave me coronavirus.”
A police source said: “She was a doctor who was working hard to save others. It’s such a tragedy.”
The Sun reports that tests were being carried out on both, but it came back negative, meaning neither Lorena or De Pace had the virus.
Lorena had been very vocal on social media about the coronavirus outbreak.
In a Facebook post just days before her death Lorena wrote: “Now more than ever we need to demonstrate responsibility and love for life.
“You must show respect for yourselves, your families and the country.

“To reach our dreams you have to work hard with determination and you are proof.
“I wish you to keep chasing your dreams, always live the life you always imagined. Well done!

SO SAD WE LOST HIM.
Dr. Dzuana Vanen Philip was a very intelligent, careful and meticulous doctor. He graduated from the prestigious Mount St. Gabriel’s Secondary School, Makurdi in 2004 with a fantastic result from both WAEC and NECO. He wrote UTME many times applying for medicine and surgery at Uni Jos, ABU and Maiduguri. He rejected many admission offers and insisted his calling was in medicine. He finally got admitted on merit list in 2009 at BSU to read medicine and surgery. While in medical school he demonstrated a high level of maturity, intelligence, academic resilience, discipline and diligence.
Dr. Dzuana will be remembered for his selflessness and humility in his daily interaction with course mates and colleagues. He graduated in 2019(10years school duration) after a protracted stay in medical school ocassioned by lack of accreditation at BSU. He was inducted in the middle of 2019 and started housemanship at FMC Mkd, where he has been for the last 8 months. With just 4 months away from the end of housemanship, Dr. Dzuana took ill and was later confirmed to have contracted Lassa Fever, was initially managed at BSUTH but was later transferred to Irrua Specialist Hospital where he had two sessions dialysis on account of kidney failure.
He finally gave up in the early hours of Wednesday 1st April, 2020. Sadly he will not be buried at his ancestral home. He will be cremated in line with the National guide line for management of Lassa Fever patients.
At this very difficult moment when the world is battling with a Pandemic (Covid 19), we still have with us the likes of Lassa and other tropical illnesses ravaging us. God console us and Grant the soul of Dr. Dzuana eternal rest.
An Asian man who was treated in an isolation centre in Lagos after he tested positive for Coronavirus has spoken out after being discharged.
He said he and a friend came from UK into Lagos, Nigeria. Since a lot of countries were closing their borders, he said they decided to “pause” in Lagos.

As the country battles to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus, some infected patients recieving treatment in a Lagos hospital have sent out a message, appealing to Nigerians to Stay At Home.

As expected, the lockdown ordered by the government of many countries has given rise to so many situations that’s far from the normal lifestyle of the human race… from workers working from home, to students learning online et al, the lockdown to curb the spread of the Covid-19 is definitely history being made.
However, the lockdown has also given rise to some really hilarious situations as local authorities try their best to wade off rebellious citizens who disobey the order of the lockdown.
There’s been series of videos on the internet of local authorities dealing with stubborn citizens seen on the roads and not observing the lockdown – the videos are usually portrayed as hilarious due to how the stubborn citizens are being dealt with.
But in the case of this video which has since gone viral, a citizen is seen landing a heavy slap on an officer who was flogging him ruthlessly on the road.
Although, the reason why the man and two other men were being punished by the official is kinda sketchy, it shouldn’t be unconnected to the possibility of them not observing the lockdown.
The said man, after landing a slap on the officer took to his heels after the soldier cocked his gun and pushed back when he was slapped.
A Facebook user Abdul Waris shared that the incident took place in Old-Tafo (3 miles Gee Junction), a suburb of Kumasi amid a Coronavirus lockdown.
