The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Monday March 16, disclosed that the gas explosion witnessed in Abule Ado community of Lagos State on Sunday March 15, was caused by too much pressure on the pipeline.
Southwest Coordinator of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye debunked claim of the gas explosion being as a result of a bomb blast or Improvised Explosives Devices (IED). Farilonye told newsmen that preliminary security analysis showed that an eight-tonne truck laden with core stone and parked on the pipeline, exerted too much pressure on it. Fuel which escaped from the pipeline after the pressure stayed on overnight, saturated the atmosphere, formed a whitish substance and exploded.
Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Maikudi Shehu also backed claims of the explosion not being caused by a bomb or an IED.
He said;
“I can tell you that there was no IED there. The blast was not caused by IED. I am still expecting the report of findings from my officers to know exactly what happened.”
Also recounting how the incident occurred, a resident of the community said the truck got stuck on the pipeline overnight.
An eyewitness said;
“The truck stayed there for so long and with its weight on the pipeline, the fuel in the pipe which is about eight-foot deep was trying to force its way out. That was how a smoke-like substance started forming from under the truck and soon developed into a cloud that covered the entire area and then the blast.”
This is coming after the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said gas cylinders which were stacked in a gas processing plant located near the corporation’s system 2B Pipeline Right of Way caused the explosion after being hit by a truck.
Actress Lisa Omorodion has cried out over what she calls the discrimination against plus-sized women at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Lisa Omorodion questioned why no plus-sized woman made the list for best-dressed celebrities on the night.
Lisa Omorodion wrote:
“The Fashion Industry creates a fantasy world of what women are supposed to wear, and sadly a lot of women struggle to fit into this.This fantasy world always excludes curvy and plus size women, even though the fashion industry continues to laud itself as democratic in the era of Social media and gender equality“It is very disheartening that in Africa, where women are naturally curvaceous,we continue to discriminate against them. At the just concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) award show, not one plus size woman made it to the best dressed list. Is style and best dressed list the preserve of only slim/ skinny women?
“We have to do better. The global Plus size Fashion Industry is worth a whopping 20billion dollars, with an annual growth rate of about twice the total clothing market. Do the math!
“That represents $20billion worth of buying power. Inclusion of all women in the fashion industry is the way forward. Only then can we say Fashion is truly democratic. To all the plus size women, you are beautiful,stylish,fabulous and worthy of every Best Dressed List #plussizematters#Amvca7#amvca2020”.
“This is even made more obvious when the best dressed lists always excludes plus size women

Daddy Freeze wrote;
Only in Africa can people believe that religion, a more potent and lethal virus than Corona, can be used to destroy Corona virus . – Saying religion can destroy Corona virus is the equivalent of saying contracting HIV will cure syphilis. – Which virus is worse, religion or Covid19? Religion and poverty go hand in hand. According to statistics, the more religious a nation; the poorer that nation. – Hunger, resulting from poverty kills more people daily than Covid19 has globally. I’m amazed that anyone can make religion a hero in this equation. – And don’t even start with the ‘Christianity is not a religion’ BS. In my opinion, as guided by the scriptures, the Christianity practiced in most parts of Nigeria is a full fledged religion that bears no semblance to what Christ taught! ~FRZ

The popular Enugu’s native doctor, Simon Odo, a.k.a Onu Uwa, has explained that he marries a new wife anytime his older wives insult him.
While explaining why he married the 58th wife recently, Odo, who is also known as the ‘king of satan’ said he cannot stomach insolence and unruly behaviours from women folks, adding that he marries new wife anytime he was let down by the attitude of his wives.
He spoke during an exclusive interview with Vanguard at his country home, Aji, in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Sunday, saying “I marry anytime any of my new wives insult me. I cannot stand a woman insulting me.
“If there are 20 dead men in Nigeria for instance, only five of them died naturally. The other 15 were caused by heartbreaks and bad attitudes from their wives. That is why I marry anytime a woman insults me.”
When asked how he provides for his extended family, he explained that God did not make mistakes by giving him plenty children, adding that He provides for all His creatures. He alleged that the actions of humanity have put God in a state of confusion.
“If I want to kill you, I will ask God for His grace. The person I want to kill will also ask God for his protection. The armed robbers on the highway pray to God for the success of their operations, while roads users pray to the same God for protection against robbers. God is confused about the actions of humanity because of their evil actions.
“God has abandoned humanity due to the spate of evils they perpetrate. He no longer answers our prayers because we have no love for Him or our fellow human beings. Children do not obey their parents anymore, this was not the case when I was young. There was absolute respect for elders then.
“There are four of us who people use to dupe unsuspecting members of the Public. The first person is God, the second person is Jesus Christ, then queen of oceans, and myself, the king of Satan. People go about claiming that I am their father and that they can perform all sorts of miraculous healings. To be frank with you, I did not train anybody in traditional medicine, so those people are fraudsters.
“People also go about claiming false prophecies from God, Jesus Christ, and queen of oceans; claiming that they heard from God, and duping people of their hard-earned treasures. They are 419ners and people should be wary of such them,” he warned.
He said that there are deaths of genuine native doctors due to the love for money and materials things in Nigeria, adding that people of his stock who genuinely heal people may not be more than 30 in Nigeria.
Rev. Dr. Eseme Unem and his ever beautiful wife, Pastor Esther, last week dedicated their triplets, two girls and a boy, to God at a special thanksgiving service with friends, family, well wishes and of course, church members in attendance.
According to The Guardian, the couple had waited 18 years after the birth of their first child, a girl, who is an undergraduate, before God blessed the family with these bundles of joy.
Speaking about her experience, the elated mother recalled how she prayed, fasted and sowed seed for the fruit of the womb, before God at His own appointed time answered the family.
She said there were low moments, when she had to grapple with the reality of failed expectations, but was thankful God saw them through such periods.
She revealed other challenges she faced during the pregnancy, and how she spent six months in the hospital receiving treatment before the delivery.
Esther advised expectant couples to be patient, focus on God and shun the temptation to run to different churches looking for solution.
The husband thanked God for granting them the grace to be steadfast and not bow before strange altars, during their trying period.
He said: “It got to a point it seemed we were giving up. But we persevered and God answered us.” The General Overseer said they fortified themselves against external pressure, which helped them to be steadfast in the face of challenges.
