Veteran Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze, has finally justified why he assaulted Isaiah Daud, his security guard, in a video that went viral on social media on Monday.
In the viral video shared by a Twitter user @CloakedAdonis, Segun Arinze was seen chasing his security guard on the streets of Chevyview Estate, Lekki.
The twitter user had alleged that the actor assaulted his domestic staff for breaking the burglary of his house and also for using his car without his permission.
However, in a chat with PUNCH, the veteran actor told his own side of the story, read below :
“Isaiah has been working with me for over a year, I take him as a younger brother and I never treated him like a staff; but his excesses are too much.
“He leaves his duty post at will without informing anyone in the house.
“He left the gate open unguarded countless times. I have spoken, counselled, gotten angry many times, to no avail.
“On Sunday, he left the house without informing me; he returned on Monday afternoon, saying he went for a party and forgot my gate key at his friend’s house.
“At that point, I couldn’t bottle up my anger any longer, so, I slapped him.”
“It is sad that the man who filmed the incident couldn’t spare some time to ask what led to the public outrage.
“Everybody in the neighbourhood knows me as a peace-loving resident.”

Nigerian writer, Richard Henshaw, has shared the story of how a little boy was innocently used to defraud a shop owner in Lagos state earlier today December 9th.
Richard, sharing touching photos of the little boy, wrote ;
Just about three hours ago, a little boy got into the bleakest nightmare of his life…Twelve years of age.A minor.
I heard pandemonium from where I was.
Treated it with reckless abandon from the start.
But it persisted.
And I reckoned that something was wrong.
I went out to look.
A crowd had gathered in a shop.
Screams and tears wafting out from the scene.
I walked over there.
And I met this little boy in tears.
Manhandled by the crowd.
I asked what had happened.
The boy who was at the shop narrated.
One boy came to their shop and told him he wanted two bags of rice.
Then he gave him a phone to speak with someone who said she was the boy’s mother.
And the woman said she was sending his money to him immediately, that he should allow her son bring the bags of rice.
Then the bigger boy said that his younger brother would wait behind while he went to bring the money.
He left the little boy behind and went with the two bags of rice on a bike.
The shop boy waited for a prolonged time, then became perturbed.
He then turned to the little boy and asked, “Why is your brother taking so much time na?”
And the little boy replied, “He’s not my brother oo. I don’t know him before. He just met me on the road and brought me here…”
The shop boy’s eyes raised in alarm.
He held the boy.
His voice alerted a crowd.
The crowd descended on the boy.
“You are a little criminal. Where did your friend take the bags of rice to?” They screamed at him.
Slaps.
Hits.
“I swear I don’t know the boy,” the boy wept.
When I arrived, I dragged the boy aside and had a conversation with him.
And he said, “Oga, I swear I no know that boy. I pick cartons on the streets and sell them, that’s how I take dey get money. So today I been dey street and I was thirsty, so I come see the boy and ask him make him help me with water. The boy promise to give me water, but say make I follow am. He then said that anywhere we go make I dey claim say I be him brother. So we enter bike and he brought me here. He then collect two bags of rice from here and say make I wait behind that him want go bring money come. And na so him go and no come back, and leave me here…”
It was hard to comprehend this.
How someone could see a minor on the street, cajoled him to follow him.
Played on his little senses.
Exploited his circumstances.
Took him to a shop.
Duped the shop owner of his goods.
Kept the boy behind, and told the shop owner that the boy was his brother.
Then disappeared with the goods.
And left the boy behind to face the consequences.
And put his life in danger.
In an embittered city like Lagos.
The shop owner was called on phone to come back.
He ran back to his shop and heard the news.
Felling diatribes on his boy in the shop for falling for such a scam.
And the nameless crowd was struck by anger propaganda.
Eager to descend on the boy.
“What is your name?” I asked the minor.
“David.”
“How old are you?”
“Twelve.”
“Where did that boy see you and bring you here?”
He muttered some gibberish.
“Do you know the boy’s house?” I asked.
“No.”
“Have you met the boy before?”
“No. But while we were coming here he pointed to one shop and told me that that is his mother’s shop.”
“So can you take us to that shop?”
“Yes.”
“Bros, this boy na small criminal. This boy know that boy. They are together.” Some said.
“He was used,” others said. “Maybe he doesn’t know anything about it. Maybe that boy just saw him and decided to use him.”
And in that case it was difficult to know which one was true.
Then a friend brought his vehicle immediately, and both of us alongside the shop owner took the boy away to go and make efforts to find the boy.
Away from the attacks of the angry crowd.
To go to the shop which the minor said the boy had pointed at, and claimed to be his mother’s shop.
And as we set off, we discovered that the little boy had been used.
He had actually been used.
You look at this and you wonder, what if that boy had taken this little boy to an environment where he would not be able to come out alive?
What if there were no people to save him?
He could have died in a show of savagery because of two bags of rice.
A scheme from someone he didn’t know.
A claim that so many people didn’t believe anyway.
And in that little boy’s nightmares, I saw the true picture of our society.

Having successfully smuggled his accomplice in, they were alleged to have tampered with electricity into the Tohouo’s and then requested their permission to enter their apartment to resolve the power issue.

It was gathered that Odumosu led an operation to the couple’s resident, surrounded the area and commenced a search for the attackers alleged to be ransacking the house for valuables. Two suspects have been arrested. They are: Olamide Goke and Ade Akanbi.

Actor Taiwo Hasan aka Ogogo who marked his 60th birthday in grand style in Lagos over the weekend has recounted how he fell ill in 2004.
It was a sickness that took him up to 8-years to recover. Of course, there were lots of rumors as to what may have led to the sickness. Some said he might have swallowed Cocaine which got burst inside him.
Some even went further to allege that he contracted HIV considering how women flocked around them owing to the popularity from his job felt better.
In this chat with City People, Ogogo opened up on how he suffered ULCER and how he did not know it was Ulcer until it had perforated his intestines and how it made him lose so much weight which made so many colleagues, friends and family members ran away from him during his 8 years sickness.
Excerpt.
What really led to your sickness in 2004?
The sickness started from 2004 to 2012, before I started recovering in 2013. I only hear of ulcer, but I’ve never experienced it. I woke up that day, dressed up for the job I have at Ipaja. It was Arakangudu’s job. It was during the Ramadan season, and that day was Day 4 of the fasting. I don’t normally take Suhur (the early morning meal that Muslims take during Ramadan), once you give me a cup of tea I’m okay.
Even when I want to break the fast, I don’t normally eat much. In the family I come from, it’s compulsory for everyone to fast, if you don’t, you are in trouble. So, we left for the location, but along the way, I just noticed, before we got to Ikeja that I wasn’t feeling comfortable. I started feeling strange, feeling sharp pains in my abdomen. I felt so uncomfortable and I was the one driving. Shina Bankole used to be a nice guy to me; as he used to follow me everywhere he’s with the marketers.
He asked what was wrong, but I couldn’t explain. I managed myself to that location, but on getting there, I couldn’t do anything. Remi Surutu was on that location. After a while, she noticed the way I was behaving, and she asked, “Egbon mi e duro, se kii se Ulcer ni nkan to n seyin yi” literally meaning: I hope this is not an ulcer. I said it’s not possible. She called Shina and asked him to get me milk and cold water. At first, I was scared when it dawn and on that, I was going to break my fast, but immediately they mixed the milk with the water and I drank it. I asked her what next, she said I would need to see the doctor because she’s very sure it’s ulcer.
I just managed myself on that location that day. Out of 11 scenes that I was supposed to do, I did 7. The producer of the job, Arakangudu wasn’t around that day. He didn’t know what was happening. To cut the story short, I couldn’t go back to complete the job. I met with a doctor the following day, he did a scan and he explained the result to me. He showed me many affected parts in my stomach.
That was how the whole saga started. I pray you will not fall sick. I saw hell. If I ate anything, as small as a baby spoonful of rice. I would vomit. If that rice remained just a seed in my stomach, I would be vomiting blood, I would almost vomit my intestine. For 7 good months, I was always observing my prayers on the seat. I couldn’t stand, I couldn’t walk, I quickly emaciated and so lean. There was a day I was at home and I decided to take a walk and probably barb my hair. I noticed the breeze was virtually carrying me, but I managed myself. On getting to the barber’s shop, I pulled the sliding door, saw myself, and how looked in his big mirror opposite the entrance door, I broke down in tears. I was crying uncontrollably tears, asking myself “is this me?” People pacified me, I was barbed and I went back home. I spent years on it. People said a lot of things, that I carried cocaine while some said I contracted HIV.
They said all manner of things. It got to a stage I had to switched off off my phone, removed my first line when people mostly bombarded me with calls and I got another line just in case I wanted to talk to people. That was how I lost that my first line. They started carrying me from one place to another. There was nothing I didn’t do, but all Glory belongs to God. As Muslims were praying for me, Christians were praying for me. I knew witches and wizards too did their best in telling God to keep me alive.
I was at home one day, about 8:30 and I got an international call. I picked it and a man said somebody brought my name to them for prayer and they’ve been on it for the past 7nights. He asked me not to off the phone, he put his own phone beside a speaker and for 55mins, I was hearing them praying for me seriously.
After 4years, I travelled to UK. There is a Chinese restaurant called 805, it was named after the no of the building at O’ kent road, we were there eating and a man walked up to me and called my name, at first, I wasn’t surprised because everybody knows me, not until he said they had a vigil on my behalf, lo and behold it was the same man who held earlier called me. You can imagine. This life is very funny. I’m a Muslim, my wife is a Christian and she decided to practice her religion which I allowed on one condition, she will never take any of my children to church. Now see how God helped me through her religion. Along the line, I had appendices and that one too was serious. I got married to another wife because people turned my wife against me during my sickness. One of the reasons I fear some churches when they tell you that a person responsible for your problem is the person that is very close to you. What do you think? When you have a wife and she begins to run from you. I asked her, do you also believe I’m HIV positive? If then, I will ask them to check you because I know myself and I know I’m not promiscuous.
It got to a stage; many of my colleagues couldn’t even shake me again, some could not embrace me again. God bears me witness, they all abandoned me. The woman I married later was a friend who we’ve for the past 2 years we’ve known ourselves. I was just passing-by one day and I saw her. I greeted her, she didn’t even know I was the one because I’ve really emaciated. It was my voice she was able to recognise when I told her I was the one. She said Sir T, what happened to you? Right there where she was standing, she was still there until I drove into another street.
I saw her by my side during that period. By the Grace of God, she gave me 2 beautiful children. My first wife said she knew it had been destined to be so because she trusted me, and she knew I was faithful to her. I’m not saying I’m a saint but I thank God for my life. We all have to be very careful in this life; the heart of a man is desperately wicked.

Apparently, the event was poorly organized and managed to meet the expectations of fans and music lovers who trooped into the stadium to watch various performances from top Ghanaian musicians as well as Cardi B.
However, notwithstanding the ‘Gargantua gaga’, Cardi B saved the night when she jumped on the stage and thrilled fans with her energetic performances with dancers.
Big Brother Naija 2019 Winner, Mercy Eke has warned her fans to stop buying fake followers for her on her Instagram account because she is satisfied with the Organic followers she has.
Recall, yesterday, Mercy’s followers increased to 1 Million in less than 1 hour ( It happened hours after Titans’ celebrated Tacha’s account reaching 1 Million).
Mercy, however, suspected foul play and she took to her Insta Live to beg fans not to waste their money on such frivolities and it turns out her suspicions were correct as her follower dramatically dropped to 994k.
Mercy added that she’d prefer the money is sent to her account or the money be given to their fathers and mothers or better still, be used in good works of charity.
Folks have been dragging Toke Makinwa since her controversial statement over Cardi B.
Toke Makinwa had taken to her Instagram stories on Sunday, December 8, 2019, to react to Cardi B’s visit to Nigeria and how she has been received.
“These are the issues. Nigerians Cardi B is so real, I stan. Your own celebs living their lives like her. Such a disgrace! Morally corrupt! Bad role model! So plastic! so crass! So unintelligent! So razz! So loud!” she wrote.
Yomi Black who appeared to be irritated by Toke Makinwa’s comments on Cardi B then called her ou.
The comedian and actor took to his Instagram page on Sunday, December 8, 2019, where he called out Toke Makinwa. According to him, Cardi B has never denied being a former stripper but he dared Toke to reveal the source of her unexplainable wealth.
“You see why people love someone like Cardi B? She owns her shit, just like the Kardashians. You get what you expect. She hasn’t denied being a stripper or enjoying showing her body. She doesn’t go around forming motivational speaker and quoting Bible passages on social media like some Saint. Dear Toke, I dare you to openly show how you can afford your lifestyle.
“And don’t come with shit like you’re an actress or OAP because we all know how much both earn. Also, don’t spew shit about endorsement deals because we are in marketing communications and know how much these deals are worth. This has got to be the most hypocritical post of 2019,” he wrote.
In response, Toke Makinwa leaked a DM where Yomi Black professed his love for her.
She shared the DM, writing; “Excuse me while I drop my crown for 5 minutes. Inside life…… this life is a pot of beans. Now this is a public service announcement, if I have ever supported you with my time, platform, money, and more pls don’t ever come for me. You look stupid when you try.”
“Some of you will be all up in the DM looking for favors yet want to sound Intelligent in these SM streets. Should we really tell Nigerians how you went from licking my ass to dragging me online? This world we live in is strange, I have messages from you like this one, I would usually look away cos you are not the first but Yomi, you ungrateful fool, I have worked with you on projects with only a promise of “i”ll pay you back when we find sponsors”, which you never did, and I let it go, I have stuck my neck out for you when stylists, designers and the likes wanted your head on a platter cos you made them work without pay, when all you had was a dream,”
“I was willing to support you with my platform, I have fed cast and crew on your shameless sham of a set and you have the nerve to come for me???? I have receipts of how much of a loser you are but I’ll leave this one here, you asked for free TM bags for a product placement on your production which I turned down cos I’m sorry your platform does nothing for me, and I am running a business, I asked you to pay for it and you got mad, you’ve always taken but never given to anyone, who have you helped??? Who have you supported? it’s always been the other way round, you couldn’t get a freebie and now i am your enemy? Tell me, if I’m everything you say I am, why do you want to associate yourself with me? I was such an inspiration to you in private huh???? See my people hustle oooo so you don’t go from “you’re such an inspiration” to this”

The Nigerian senate has said that its convicted Chief Whip former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu will received his full salaries and allowances in prison until the Supreme Court backs the judgement issued by the Federal High Court days ago.
Nigerian Senate’s spokesperson, Godiya Akwashiki told Premium Times that though the Senator representing Abia North won’t be performing any legislative function from prison, he is still a sitting senator.
In his words ;
“He is still a senator. This is the first court. The matter is going to Supreme Court so, he still has the opportunity to appeal up to the Supreme Court level.
“Of course they will pay him. Because he is a sitting senator just like I said…if you file for appeal, you are still serving and so they will pay you.
“All his entitlements will be paid. There is no cause for alarm. In fact, even if Court of Appeal says they have upheld the judgement of the lower court, he still has the right to go to Supreme Court. So once the Supreme Court says, yes, the judgement is okay, then that’s the final.”
