The social media rumour of KimOprah dating Gedoni has been confirmed by the former Beauty Queen, but she said it was just for 7 months.

KimOprah in an interview with Pulse following her eviction from the Big Brother Naija reality show on Sunday, admitted dating Gedoni for seven months while they were in University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State. She however said the relationship never worked out and they decided to remain friends after that.

“I dated Gedoni at some point in my year two; that was in the University of Port Harcourt, we were in the same modeling agency in Rivers, you know.

“We dated for like seven months and we decided to just stay friends because it wasn’t just working out in the relationship and whatnot. And then all of a sudden I see him in the Big Brother house” she said.

The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday, arrested a female armed robber and her accomplice, who have been terrorising Abatete community with robberies and other heinous crimes.

Parading the suspects, spokesperson of the command, Haruna Mohammed, said that on Thursday, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Eziowelle Division in conjunction with Abatete vigilante group arrested duo namely,

(1) Ifeoma Joy Ugegbe alias “Sabath” ‘f aged 20 years and,
(2) Ifeanyi Chinweze alias “cheplat” ‘m’ aged 19 years both from Oranto Ukpo in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include one cut -to -size single barrel gun loaded with a cartridge.

The case is under investigation after which the suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

The burial programme lineup started on Thursday 11th July with the service of songs at family compound in Aiyetoro, then the wake keep on Friday 12th July at Aiyetoro community School.

The Internment at family grave site and then the Funeral Thanksgiving service followed on Saturday 13th July the Apostolic Church in Aiyetoro.

A grand reception was later held to round off the massive ceremony with performances from King Sunny Ade and Yinka Ayefele.

The Immediate past Senate President, Bukola Saraki, PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus, Senator Ike Ekwere Madu, Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP Peter Obi, Titi Atiku, Senator Olujimi and some other top dignitaries/politicians were all guests at the church service and grand reception to Sympathize and witness the Burial

Corey Atchison freed after serving 28 years in prison for murder he didn’t commit

Corey Atchison, an Oklahoma prison inmate serving a life sentence for murder was on Tuesday, July 16, vindicated and freed of the crime.

The Oklahoma native spent 28 years behind bars, after being found guilty in 1991 for the murder of James Lane who was shot in an alleged robbery in 1990. Atchison’s freedom however came after a private investigator, Eric Cullen, took up his case having previously helped to free his younger brother, Malcolm Scott in 2016 of wrongful murder conviction passed in 1994.

While in Scott’s case the man who testified against him confessed to the murder of a 19-year-old woman named Karen Summers before being executed for another crime, it was found that authorities had bullied witnesses into offering false testimony in Atchison’s case. Ruling on the case, District Judge Sharon Holmes said the case was marred by a “fundamental miscarriage of justice.”

“Corey was arrested three months before his daughter was born; this is the first time he’s been able to have some real contact with her and the same with his 10-year-old grandson,” his lawyer Joseph Norwood told The Washington Post. “I’m very proud to have vindicated them and reunited them.”

Speaking to newsmen after being freed of murder with his arm around his young grandson, Atchison said he felt “blessed” and held no grudges. “Life’s too short,” he said. “I’ve got some time with this little guy to make him into a man.”

Nigeria has been drawn with Sierra Leone, Lesotho and Benin Republic in Group L of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The draw took place on Thursday evening at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo.

CAF Deputy General Secretary of Football and Development, Anthony Baffoe, was in charge of proceedings and he was assisted by Algerian football great Rabah Madjer, Eto’o and Nigeria’s Kanu.

The 48 teams were drawn into 12 groups of four teams in addition to the four winners of the preliminary round.

In Group A, Mali will join Guinea, Namibia and the winners between Liberia and Chad for size, while Group B has Burkina Faso, Uganda, Malawi and Djibouti/Gambia. AFCON 2019 quarter-finalists South Africa will have their hands full in Group C against Ghana and Sudan.

Ongoing AFCON 2019 hosts Egypt have been paired with Kenya, Togo and Comoros Island.

Preliminary round of the qualifiers will be played in October 2019, while the group stage will kick off in November and will end in November 2020.

“My Phone Was Hacked” – Wizkid baby mama Jada Pallock Say, Denies Allegations Of Domestic Violence Against Wizkid

Wizkid’s manager, and mother of his third son, Jada Pollock has the denied the allegation against Wizkid of domestic violence against her.

Jada P as she is popularly called has denied any authenticity in the report as she says her Instagram account was hacked by some unknown persons who made the accusation illegally on her behalf.

Jada took to her Instagram story to release a statement debunking any truth in the news and also to apologise for the damage the news could have caused.

She wrote;

“My phone was hacked in the late hours of Monday evening and my Instagram account was compromised. I can guarantee that the statement written was not by my hand. I can only apologise for any confusion this must have caused. i have now recovered my account.”

Day 18 : The Failed Ships in the #BBNaija House

Eighteen days has passed already in the Big Brother NAIJA house and as we move on to the Nineteenth day, here’s a summary on the type of relationships that has been formed during the course of the past 18 days.

The Friend Zone

The Pepper Dem gang started the Season with one thing in mind – to have fun! This has been evident in their relationship(s) with certain men in the House; but what happens when the ship successfully sails into the friend zone? How about we ask these pairs – Diane, Tuoyo and Sir Dee; Esther and Frodd?

Remember when Sir Dee put Diane in the friend zone when he told her that he’s in a relationship outside the House? Now we see why she was quick to tell Ebuka that Sir Dee walked into this zone. What of the awkward moment when Esther made Frodd cry because she rejected his affection? In her words, “let’s just remain friends”.

We all fear to take a seat in the friend zone; but hey, this zone has led to great friendship goals in Biggie’s House. So maybe it’s not the end of the world after all.

Cruising into The Love Zone

From their early days of friendship, Nelson and Diane could have easily fooled us with the romantic spark between them. Yet, following her conversation with Sir Dee during the Diary Task and her teasing dance moves with Tuoyo at the Saturday Night parties, Diane kept Africa (and Nelson) guessing who her heart belongs to.

Nonetheless, Nelson and Esther have recently been found having intimate moments in the House – even after turning Frodd down (poor Frodd). Judging from how she rejected Frodd to her intimate moments with Nelson, we reckon that the iron lady might just love the idea of being wanted. Whatever her strategy is, seems to have Nelson hooked.

What now becomes of Diane? Clearly, the Diane and Nelson ship has successfully sailed into the friend zone. Where will the Diane ship sail now? Hmmm… Tuoyo still seems interested, or is he?

What Next?

This complicated love hexagon prompted Diane’s heart-to-heart chat with who her heart really wants – Nelson. However, what we weren’t expecting was Nelson’s response to Diane’s shot-shooting. The irony in this is while Diane’s love was being rejected by Nelson, Frodd’s love also got rejected by Esther. What a week for friend-zoning!

Could the smugness that comes with being wanted or chased be the string that ties Esther and Nelson? What then happens when Esther admits her feelings to Nelson? Will the chasing stop like it did with Diane? Time will tell.

Wasiu Orilonise, a 37-year-old security guard confessed to raping his 15-year-old daughter after being arraigned before Oyo State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan.

The suspect arraigned on one count of having unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter, begged for the court for forgiveness as he claimed to have committed the said offence because he wanted to test the virginity of his daughter to protect her.

The guard told the Chief Magistrate, Mr Taiwo Olaniran that he lost his wife few years ago when asked what pushed him into raping his own biological daughter. According to him, he has been taking care of the victim and her siblings since then, but decided to know if she has lost her virginity sometime in December 2018 at their residence in Omo village, Agbofieti, Ibadan. Upon discovering that she was still a virgin, he started having sex with her regularly before she would leave for school and at night.

The case was adjourned till July 30, 2019, as Orilonise whose plea was not taken by the court was remanded in Agodi Prison, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

His personality is actually like a movie so I thought if we got closer I could probably get to know more about him but it kind of felt like Mercy was like my friend and he is my friend too and I didn’t want all that mirage happening…the boy is mine. So we turned out to be cool friends.

“I like bad boys… I like bad boys, they are interesting, they have a story, it’s not like a cool guy who doesn’t speak too much or all he wanna do is just make you smile. There has to be this horrific feeling when you are in a relationship. I think to me it keeps the swag going…you know. I really would have loved to know Ike really very well because I wanted to know. Nigerian playwright, poet and essayist, Professor Wole Soyinka has said Nigeria is currenlty raising a generation of illiterates.

The Nobel Prize winner, who was specifically making a reference to Internet trolls, said the nation is raising a generation that is the first to comment on the internet on issues they are deeply ignorant about.

He made this remark when he spoke at the launch of InnoCreativa Youth Hub 2030 and project logo by Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI) held at The Civic Centre, Lagos.

His words ;

“They are waiting for Wole Soyinka to lead a march to Aso Rock. It is about time to get off your feet and stop writing rubbish on the internet about things you do not understand. I do not know how to describe the new generation beyond a generation of internet trolls.

“Nigerian youths are full of spunk outside, but when they are inside Nigeria, they are full of gas. We are building a generation of illiterates. They are the first to comment on the internet on issues they are ignorant about. When you talk about education, I get texts from the new generation and can’t believe these texts are from the youth.

“When I decided to build my house in the forest, I bought a second-hand diesel generator and asked someone to dig a borehole. I wanted to be self-sufficient. What I want to pass on to you is that I thought of the possibility of being self-reliant. This entails that I can come to cooperatives with others and demand things from the government by any means necessary.”

Egypt is a country where I’ve started and have finished my National career. In 2006 I played my first official championship for my Country. 2019 African Cup of Nations marks my last championship for National Team with Super Eagles.

My national career started in 2003 under 17 World Cup and I’m grateful for the national team for placing me on the world arena and giving me an opportunity to show my skill and have an incredible National and International career.

At the age of 32 it’s time for me to retire from the National team and let the youth take over, who’ve done an amazing job securing a bronze medal at AFCON 2019.

Nigerian soldiers on escort duty flee with VIP’s millions, desert army.

The Nigerian Army has commenced investigation into the case involving some soldiers who allegedly carted away a consignment while on escort duty from Sokoto to Kaduna.

According to Daily Trust, the consignment was containing cash amounting to millions of naira which they were asked to deliver by a VIP.

The Army gave the names of the runaway soldiers as Cpl. Gabriel Oluwaniyi, Cpl. Mohammed Aminu, LCpl. Commander Haruna, LCpl. Oluji Joshua, and LCpl. Hayatudeen.

They were said to be members of Operation Harbin Kunama III in Sokoto.

Spokesman for the 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Sokoto, Lieutenant Audu Arigu, who confirmed that the soldiers fled while on escort duty, said “The wanted soldiers were detailed for legitimate escort duty for a VIP.

However, they chose to rob the VIP. “Investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances and whereabouts of the soldiers.”

Arigu was however silent on the identity of the VIP robbed by the fleeing soldiers or the total amount of money or valuables they took from him.

It was gathered that all the absconding soldiers now being trailed by the Nigerian Army were also from Jaji but moved to Sokoto at the instance of Gen. Otiki.

Sources said the soldiers left Sokoto on Tuesday, July 11 en route Abuja but decided to abort the mission around Jaji.

“The real target of the absconding soldiers was the money because they abandoned the Hilux, the gun trucks, their uniforms and guns,” our source said. “And when they couldn’t reach their destination and couldn’t go back to Sokoto, there was disquiet and agitation at the highest quarters in Sokoto.

“The rumour begun to circulate in the barracks and when it was evident that what happened had been leaked, a scanty statement was issued,” the source added.

Nigerian parents demand justice for their three sons killed in London

Nigerian parents, John and Linda Burke-Monerville, are demanding justice for the murder of their three sons in London, United Kingdom.

The couple lost the latest to an attack in Barnet last month. David, 38, was stabbed to death in a fight.

David’s brother, Trevor, had first lost his life in 1994 after being attacked by five men, before another of his siblings, Joseph, was killed in Hackney in 2013.

The family had previously sent Joseph and his twin Jonathan, the only surviving son, to boarding school in Nigeria to keep them away from crime.

According to the family, none of them have ever been in trouble with the police.

The parents spoke with UK’s The Guardian according to a report by Daily Mail, saying the latest murder has been like ‘a terrible dream’ for them.

“I was a teacher and always taught my children the value of education. I don’t understand why this keeps happening to us… Why can’t we have peace? Why couldn’t our children be allowed to grow up like other children?” Mrs Burke-Monerville said.

David had been campaigning for justice over the deaths of his brothers, whose killers have still not been found.

At the time of his death, David, a father of two boys, had just begun a new job, one of two positions he worked to take care of his family.

Three men have been charged with aggravated burglary over his death and the family hopes they will finally see one of their sons’ killers brought to justice.

Ned Nwoko’s son Emzy Ned Jnr, isn’t done yet with his father’s new wife, Regina, this time accusing her of flaunting his my mother’s sweat, saying he will fight till he gets it back.

He took to his IG page to rant about how the actress Regina Daniels and her mother flaunts his mother’s sweat online, saying getting it back is all he is after.

Saying a prayer for those going through same challenge, Frank Edwards wrote;

Two Internet Fraudsters Bag

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have secured the conviction of two internet fraudsters, Obanore Edson Ehimen and Paul Odion Oghiator.

EFCC Benin Zonal Office on Wednesday July 17, 2019 convicted the two fraudsters before Justice J. K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The convicts are Obanore Edson Ehimen and Paul Odion Oghiator. they were arraigned on a One count charge respectively for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretence and impersonation. Specifically, Oghiator on Facebook impersonated the identity of James Minh, an American and subsequently sent documents to unsuspecting ladies with intent to defraud them.

The charge against Ogiator reads: “That you Paul Odion Oghiator (Alias James Minh) sometimes between 2018 and June 2019 in Warri, Delta State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did fraudulently impersonate in your FaceBook account the identity of one James Minh, an American and sends documents to unsuspecting ladies through the internet with documents you claim emanated from the said James Minh with the internet to obtain money from the ladies and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 22(2)(b)(ii) of the Cybercrimes (prohibition, prevention etc) Act 2015 and punishable under Section 22(2)(b)(iv) of the same Act”.

When the charge was read, the defendants pleaded guilty.

In view of their plea, prosecution counsel, Fredrick Dibang told the court to convict and sentence the defendants in accordance with the plea bargain agreement between the prosecution and defence counsel.

Justice Omotosho consequently sentenced the defendants to 12 months imprisonment each. The court also ruled that Ehimen forfeits the sum of N620,000 (Six hundred and Twenty thousand naira) in his GT Bank account to the Federal government of Nigeria while Oghiator was fined the sum of Two hundred thousand naira.

Nigerian Rhythm and Blues singer, Timi Dakolo whose spouse, Busola, recently accused COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, of raping her when she was a teenager, has reacted to the claims that 80% of members of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, are rapists.

This comes after he took to his Instagram page a while ago to share the statement of the Christian Association of Nigerian after two of their members visited COZA church last Sunday to pledge their support to the church’s ensnared senior pastor.

Some children in Algeria are currently trolling the Super Eagles of Nigeria on social media following their disappointing and heartbreaking defeat last Sunday when Manchester City striker, Riyad Mahrez copped a late goal, ruining their chance of getting into the AFCON final.

Super Eagles defender, William Ekong had scored an own goal in the first half to give Algeria a 1-0 lead before striker, Odion Ighalo restored parity for Nigeria via a penalty.

Odion Ighalo’s goal made Nigerians really elated and they were expecting the match to be dragged into an extra time before Leicester City star, Wilfred Ndidi committed a foul.

The referee awarded a free kick to Algeria in the additional time which had Riyad Mahrez step forward to score for his nation.

Mahrez’s goal sent Algeria to the final of the AFCON 2019 where they will face Senegal. Photos have been trending on social media of Algerian kids reacting the free kick that was scored by Mahrez so as to mock Super Eagles.
