This comes weeks after it was revealed that he and dancehall singer, Burna Boy were the ones who secured the release of Zlatan Ibile and others who were initially arrested by the EFCC.
After their release, it was revealed that t’was singer, Davido who hired a lawyer to secure their release – then Nigerian big boy, Aremo Gucci stated that their release was secured by Olamide and Burna Boy, not Davido as t’was widely publicized.
Videos that have been making the rounds online shows the singer being hailed and congratulated by his friends as he’s released from prison after he was arrested and detained for more than a month over alleged internet fraud.

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a 100 percent increase in the allowances of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officials.
The Governor announced the increase when he visited the LASTMA headquarters at Oshodi, Lagos – he promised that the increase would commence from the end of July 2019 while also saying that LASTMA officials would be entitled to free treatment.
“From the end of next month, we are going to double your allowance, from the end of next month. If you are earning N5,000 allowance, we are going to double it for you. It is Lagos State tax payer’s money we are going to be giving to all of you so the citizens are going to be expecting a new, reformed and more civil LASTMA officers, Any LASTMA official that is on duty and has reported one form of illness or the other should be treated free of charge.”
He commended the officials for their service to ensure a free flow of traffic and traffic management in the state. The governor also reiterated his promise to rehabilitate bad roads in Lagos while insisting the government would be strict with traffic offenders.
He tasked the LASTMA officials not to allow any offender go without paying fine saying,
“if the person says he knows the governor, tell him to call the governor to pay the money for the offence.” Sanwo-Olu urged the traffic management officers to be civil when engaging road users.
“They (people) want a LASTMA officer that shows civility. Courtesy demands courtesy if you are going to even arrest or apprehend somebody, be courteous and respectful to them,” he added.

Update – The gorilla claim has turned out to be false. On Friday, June 21, 2019, AFP Fact Check investigated the story and discovered that the zoo has never housed a gorilla in its 47-year history.
Umar Kobo, the managing director at Kano Zoological Gardens has said the missing N6.8 million was not swallowed by a gorilla as earlier claimed.
Recall that BBC Pidgin quoted a finance officer in the zoo as claiming that the gorilla “sneaked into their office” and carted away the money before swallowing it.
The alleged incident was said to have happened during the Sallah celebrations. Umar Kobo, the managing director of the zoo, confirmed that the money is missing and that the issue is being investigated.
“The issue is under investigations for now and I don’t want to say anything on the matter, many journalists have come to meet me but I don’t want to talk anything. What I can confirm is that money is missing,” he said.
“Suspected armed robbers stormed into the zoo and broke into the administrative section and burgled and ransacked seven offices,” Yusuf told Abubakar.
“A safe where 6.8 million naira was ripped open and the money stolen. The money was from gate takings during the Muslim Sallah (Eid) festivities. Nine security guards on duty were tied together and locked inside an office by the robbers.”
He said the money had been kept in the zoo office as it was received over public holidays, when “banks didn’t open”.
The Cross River State Police Command has paraded the pastor in charge of the Gate of Testimony Church, Hosanna Okoi, for allegedly raping a lady and threatening to kill her with a gun if she revealed what transpired between them.
Also paraded on Thursday after he was arrested with arms and a soldier’s uniform was a 400-level student of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Calabar, Nnamdi Ikezue. Ikezue confessed that he was a cultist and was using a locally-made pistol to protect himself.
Twenty-three other suspects were arrested for various crimes. Out of the number, nine were arrested for alleged involvement in robbery attacks in various locations across the state. The state Commissioner of Police, Austin Agbonlahor, said Okoi, who claimed that his church was located in Sierra Leone, was arrested after a lady reported to the police that a pastor, who was supposed to pray for her, allegedly raped her and threatened her with a gun not to report the incident.
Okoi, however, said he only took the lady, whom he claimed was unknown to him, to a wedding and later to a pub.
He stated, “I am a Nigerian, but I am the pastor of the Gate of Testimony Church based in Sierra Leone. I came to Nigeria and I met the lady, who said she was going to a wedding. I did not know her from Adam, but I offered to take her there and gave her N500 to drink water. Later, we met at a pub and we drank and that was all that happened. I did not take her to anywhere and I don’t know why she decided to frame me up.”
Ikezue, on his part, said, “I am having the army uniform because I was at the Nigerian Military School, Zaria, before I got admission into the University of Calabar to study Medicine and Surgery in 2014. I am a cultist and I still use the military uniform and my gun, which I acquired to protect myself.” He blamed the devil for his ordeal, saying, “At the level I am now, I am not supposed to be in the cult.”
Apostle Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries has slammed ladies who despite praying for husband unknowingly use their demand for iPhone to chase suitors away.

Men of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested two suspected fraudsters identified as Taiwo Salami (39) and Kamorudeen Amusat (63), who hypnotised a sales girl and collected the N1.4 million her boss sent her to deposit in a bank. They raped her multiple times after hypnotizing her and then collected the money found on her.
Parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, said the victim (names withheld), was sent by her boss on May 6th at about 11:30 a.m. to deposit N1.4 million at a bank in Dugbe area of the city.
“On her way, she was accosted by one of the suspects, Taiwo Salami, who hypnotised her, and having lost her senses, she was taken to an abandoned house at Inalende area of the city, where the cash was collected from her, while the suspects also inflicted several injuries on her. On May 8th, the victim’s family members reported her disappearance at the divisional police headquarters at Mokola. She was later rescued and taken to the hospital for medical attention.
“The case was then transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, and on June 7th, following a tip-off, the suspects were arrested around Eleyele, and upon interrogation, they confessed to the crime,” Olukolu said.
The police commissioner said the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation into their crime.

The 37-year-old Timothy Jones Jr. from South Carolina was sentenced to death on Thursday, June 13, one week after he was convicted of five counts of murder.

Justice J.K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded one Bisong James Oyen, a fake employment officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in prison custody.
Oyen was arraigned by the EFCC, Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office on Thursday on a two-count charge bordering on forgery and obtaining money by false pretence contrary to Section 1 (2) (c) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 of the Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria) 2007, and punishable under Section 1 (2) of the same Act.
One of the count charges read,
“That you, Bisong James Oyen, on or about 11th December, 2018 at Port Harcourt, Rivers State within the jurisdiction of this honourable Court did forge Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Appointment letter and delivered same to Talbort Young for employment with intent that it may be acted upon as genuine, a pretext which you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1 (2) (c) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 of the Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria) 2007, and punishable under section 1 (2) of the same Act”.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges when read to him. In view of his plea, Prosecution Counsel, Esin-Otu Ebipade urged the court to fix a date for the commencement of hearing. The defendant was not represented by any Counsel.
Justice Omotosho adjourned the matter to June 18, 2019 for hearing and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.
Oyen got into troubles after a petitioner alleged that, sometimes in April 2018, he logged into the EFCC’s web address, in a bid to apply for a job but could not get through the application. However, he allegedly received a call from one Alex (Kalu Patrick Ikechukwu), now at large, that he should send his document to an email address: [email protected] and pay some money into an account number of one of the new generation banks.
The petitioner allegedly got an assurance, after paying the money, that he would receive an appointment letter that would qualify him for training by the EFCC.
After waiting for a while without any communication from the EFCC, he reported the matter for investigations and the results showed that Oyen was neither a bonafide employment officer of the EFCC nor authorized to receive any payment from any member of the public on behalf of the Commission.

According to new reports, a one-storey building has collapsed at the Shangisha area of Lagos State in Magodo.
Apparently, the building which was under construction when it caved in on Thursday, has three people trapped in the debris. The building collapsed at Kayode Aluko Olokun Close, Shangisha, Magodo.
The building was said to have collapsed around 3.00pm as the workers were working on the structure. Officials of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, and others were on ground to rescue trapped victims, saying ‘the three people trapped in the collapsed building had been rescued and taken to the hospital’.
