Federal Polytechnic, Auchi has sanctioned 27 lecturers for engaging in sex for marks, money for marks and other unethical practices.
Eleven of the affected staff were dismissed, the appointments of six were terminated, while 10 others were downgraded.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Sanusi Jimah, who said these at the 25th Convocation ceremony of the institution, said an additional 250 staff were recruited to strengthen the capacity of the institution.
He stated that the institution has enhanced its staff development policy by sponsoring staff to acquire higher degrees through TETFUND interventions.
Chairman, Governing Council, Olarewaju Oloyo, represented by Prince Felix Oba Okojie, said unethical conduct of staff would no longer be tolerated.
During last night’s Big Brother Naija finale, things got a little bit heated between former housemate, Alex and the show’s host, Ebuka.
Alex had tackled Ebuka expressing her displeasure at the questions asked during the polygraph test.

The world of hip-hop has been thrown into a state of mourning after American rapper, Nipsey Hussle, was shot dead on Sunday March 31st.
The Los Angeles rapper whose real name was Ermias Davidson Asghedom was reportedly shot multiple times outside of his clothing store, Marathon Clothing Company in the Hyde Park neighborhood of LA, south of the Crenshaw area on Sunday.
Law enforcement sources revealed to TMZ that three people were shot at the store. The 33- year-old father of two was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital while the two other victims are in serious condition.
According to XXL Magazine, the suspect is thought to be a Black male in his 20s, and sources say the man came up to Nipsey and others on foot and fired multiple shots before fleeing in a vehicle driven by a woman.
“At approximately 3:20 pm there was a shooting reported in the area of Slauson Ave and Crenshaw Blvd. 3 victims were transported to a local hospital where one was pronounced deceased. We have no suspect info at this time and will provide more details as they become available”, said the Los Angeles Police Department.
Hussle is survived by a son with actress Lauren London and a daughter from a previous relationship.

A young Nigerian man who is also a father was allegedly shot dead on Sunday, by SARS operatives.
Kolade Johnson, also known as Kaylow or Don Styles was shot dead yesterday shortly after making plans to send money for his young son’s upkeep.
Friends have taken to Twitter to mourn him with the hashtag #KLow while calling for an end to extrajudicial killings with the hashtag #EndSARS.

Nigeria ranked sixth most miserable country in the worldAccording to a Vanguard report, the recently published report by Steve Hanke, an economist from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, United state, listed Nigeria, Venezuela, Iran, Brazil, others among the first ten (10) miserable countries in the world.
According to the report Venezuela was listed as the most miserable country in the world. Reacting to this Hanke said, “Venezuela holds the inglorious title of the most miserable country in the world in 2018, as it did in 2017, 2016, and 2015.”
However, Argentina jumped to the No. 2 spot after yet another peso crisis. Since its founding, Argentina has been burdened with numerous economic crises. Most can be laid at the feet of domestic mismanagement and currency problems (read: currency collapses). Iran took third in the ranking, before Brazil that made it to the fourth position.
Turkey took the fifth position as the giant of Africa Nigeria emerged sixth. The Misery Index was calculated using economic indices including unemployment, inflation and bank lending rates. For Nigeria, unemployment rate was the major contributing factor to its miserable state.
According to Hanke, “The first Misery Index was constructed by economist Art Okun in the 1960s as a way to provide President Lyndon Johnson with an easily digestible snapshot of the economy. That original Misery Index was just a simple sum of a nation’s annual inflation rate and its unemployment rate. The Index has been modified several times, first by Robert Barro of Harvard and then by myself.
“My modified Misery Index is the sum of the unemployment, inflation and bank lending rates, minus the percentage change in real GDP per capita. Higher readings on the first three elements are “bad” and make people more miserable. These are offset by a “good” (GDP per capita growth), which is subtracted from the sum of the “bads.”
A higher Misery Index score reflects a higher level of “misery,” and it’s a simple enough metric that a busy president, without time for extensive economic briefings, can understand at a glance.
“The accompanying table contains Misery Index rankings for the 95 nations that report relevant data on a timely basis. For consistency and comparability, and with few exceptions, data were retrieved from the Economist Intelligence Unit.”
Ghanaian model, Pamela Odame, has said her big boobs are a miracle to her, as she opened up that they were not as big as they are now when she was a growing child.

SARS operatives in Lagos have reportedly killed a young boy who was watching a football match in Lagos, after he was hit by a stray bullet.
According to reports, the sad incident happened Sunday afternoon at Olu Aboderin Street, Onipetesi, Lagos State.
The boy was reportedly watching the Liverpool vs Spurs Premier League match.
According to one Emenike, who witnessed the incident, the officers had come to the area to arrest a guy on dreadlocks. He alleged that they started shooting sporadically after the arrest, only for one of the bullets to hit the boy.
The victim was subsequently rushed to the general hospital in Ikeja, where he was confirmed dead.

The Lagos State Government has shut down the HJ CLAIROOWEN medical centre where 15-month-old twin girl, Taiye, died during blood transfusion.
According to the parents of the deceased, Dr. Joy had stated she was in need of blood and Oxygen immediately she saw them at the General Hospital, adding that there was no bed space and so, she would refer them to HJ CLAIROOWEN, which turned out to be her private clinic.
Aside the controversy surrounding the referral, there are allegations that blood was infused in the baby without screening and negligence against Dr. Joy and her clinic.
Confirming the closure of the clinic, the Director Public Affairs, Ministry of Health Mrs. Adeola Salako, said the state government will investigate the matter and come out with its findings.
“For the purpose of clarity, it is important to mention that safety of lives and the wellbeing of citizens is of utmost importance to the Lagos State Government and as such the avoidable death of the 15-month-old baby, Taiwo Adetunji is regrettable. We commiserate with the bereaved family and pray that God will comfort and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“Since the report of the unfortunate incidence, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris has ordered investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of the child as well as allegations of patients poaching by doctors from general hospitals to their private clinics.
“It is also worthy to note that the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) has shut the private hospital – HJ Clairoowen Medical Centre and Maternity where the child died and investigations are on-going on the operations of the facility whose documents showed that it has not been registered with HEFAMAA or certified for the purpose of health care delivery.
“The ministry will make known its findings in due course and mete out appropriate sanctions to anyone found culpable in the unfortunate incident. We would like to assure citizens of our resolve to continuously address the issue of patient poaching and ensure that residents have unfettered access to quality health care service without exploitation.
“As a government, the wellbeing of citizens is of utmost importance to us and this is the main thrust of our social contract with the people. The Lagos State Government is a responsible and responsive government and we will not rest on our oars to ensure that justice, in this case, is served without let or hindrances.
“In this regard, we advise members of the public not to patronize any health facility not bearing the HEFAMAA logo and to channel complaints and petitions in respect of unprofessional conducts by health care providers or health facilities to the HEFAMAA Office, Room 514 Ministry of Health, Alausa, Ikeja.
“We wish to also note that it is against the norm and highly unethical for General Hospitals or any government health facilities to refer patients or cases to private health facilities. General public are therefore to take note of this and report any health worker or government facility who indulge in this unprofessional act”.
The final words of the pilot of the crashed Ethiopian plane, has been revealed shortly after an inquiry was set up to investigate the crash.
The final words of the pilot of the Ethiopian Airlines plane was “pitch up, pitch-up”, moments before the Boeing 737 Max jetliner crashed and killed 157 passengers. The Wall Street Journal reported that the plane’s final moments, painted a picture of a flight crew that was quickly overwhelmed.
The journal further reported that the plane took off from Addis Ababa on March 10, and ran into trouble almost immediately. First Officer Ahmed Nur Mohammed contacted the control tower and in a crackling transmission reported a “flight control problem,” according to the newspaper, which cited people close to the ongoing investigation. It was further gathered that the tower asked for details, as Captain Yared Getachew tried to climb and correct the glide path.
Two minutes into the flight oscillation became a wild bounce, then a dive. The flight lasted fewer than six minutes. The pilot who urged the other to pitch up was not identified, as all 157 people on board the plane were killed.
A faulty anti-stalling system on the Max is suspected in the disaster, which occurred shortly after takeoff. The Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) flight-control feature is also suspected in the crash of a Lion Air Boeing 737 Max in Indonesia last October, according to the BBC

Recall, that the CEO of Escape Club, few days back revealed the club is in N120m debt, which made the club shut down, saying he is going to drop names. According to him the highest amount owed at the club is N6.6m and those drinks were taken in two nights. The Lagos state police command have arrested one Mrs. Josephine, for allegedly dousing her neighbour, Mrs. Blessing Christopher, with hot water for greeting her husband.
According to the victim, she was in the kitchen making dinner when she responded to her neighbour’s husband’s greetings, only for his wife to barge out and warn her to desist from communicating with her husband.
”I responded to his greeting by saying, ‘welcome sir.’ The wife, who heard us, came out from their apartment and warned me never to greet her husband. She said that if I tried it again, she would deal with me.
I asked her when it has become a crime to respond to greetings. She said that I should wait for her. I continued with my cooking. A video making the rounds on social media shows a man who shocked onlookers by climbing a network mast before jumping to his death.
Local reports show that the man, who is said to be mentally unstable, caused pandemonium earlier today after he started to climb the network mast inside the premises of Wema bank in Sango area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
All efforts to make him climb down failed until he reached the very top of the mast.
It was gathered that moments after climbing the mast, the mental health patient jumped to his death to the shock of onlookers who gathered at the scene.
