A suspected yahoo boy was almost lynched to death after he was allegedly caught trying to use a little 6-year-old boy for rituals in Delta state.
It was gathered that the young man pretended to be mentally unstable in order to carry out the nefarious act in Sapele area of the state.
It was gathered that he was apprehended while trying to blow powder (which had cowries round it) on the boy in a bid to hypnotize him.
The suspect was immediately captured and beaten mercilessly by the mob. It was revealed that during the beating, the young man was making some incantations for reasons best known to him, before he was stabbed in the chest with a sharp object.
The police later came to his rescue as the suspect was dragged to a station in the area for further interrogation.

Some gunmen who attacked an Edo police station, reportedly freed prisoners and also killed a Police DPO alongside four others.
The gunmen who attacked Afuze police station in Afuze, Edo State last night, freed prisoners and also killed police officers came with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), which they exploded before carting away rifles and other ammunition.. There was also a pregnant police officer among the victims of the attack, as it was further gathered that the the gunmen targeted other police posts and burnt down their vans.
A local resident who spoke to ThisDay last night said the gunmen, who were about 10 in number, arrived the station at about 8p.m., shooting sporadically before killing the officers.
The eyewitness further disclosed that the attack lasted for over 30 minutes, with the gunmen freely detonating their IEDs before gaining access to the armoury where they carted away weapons.
It was also gathered that after the attack at the police station, they went to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the local government where they destroyed police vehicles parked at the premises.
“We suddenly started hearing sounds of gunshots and explosions at the police station. The gunmen caught the policemen unaware.”
“We were all afraid to come out. By the gunshots died down, we heard that the DPO and four officers were killed. This is strange to us here. We have never experienced such an attack in this town,” he said.

A 400 level student of the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH has been killed by an alleged drunk 200 level student on campus.
Joseph, a Civil Engineering student of the institution, was reportedly sitting by the gutter on Tuesday, waiting for his lecture at the Calabar Main when a drunk 200 level student, driving his friend’s car, lost control of the car and rammed into him.
Joseph was rushed to the hospital immediately after the accident yesterday but he was declared dead on arrival.

A mum identified as Rose Alcides Rivera, who killed her daughter because she doesn’t want her to have sex has been arrested by the police in Orlando.
The lady who turned up at hospital asking for help for her 11-year-old daughter who was already dead from multiple stab wounds, also pulled a knife on hospital workers before being arrested on Sunday. The 28-year-old mum later told investigators that she killed her daughter because she doesn’t want her to have sex with men.
“Rivera stated she stabbed her daughter while in the car, and while stabbing her she was attempting to make her more comfortable,” an investigator wrote in the report.
Rose who was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Aleyda Rivera, reportedly took the child to a man’s house and accused him of having sex with the girl. Rivera said she believed her daughter was having sex with men because she “smiled different,” the station reported, citing an affidavit. However after the deceased denied it, she stabbed her in the car.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina who spoke to newsmen, however said there appears to be no validity to Rivera’s claim that her daughter was sexually active.
“We believe that part of the investigation is unfounded,” Mina said, according to Orlando Weekly. “We are looking into that but don’t believe it to be credible, although we are still continuing the investigation.”

A local goat thief who decided to improvise a new way to avoid detection is currently behind bar after he was caught with a stolen goat meat strapped to his body.

Adesanmi was one of the two Nigerians who died in the crash that claimed 157 lives on Sunday.

Akintunde Akinleye, a Nigerian academia and journalist in Canada has now taken to Facebook to share the moment Muyiwa, his wife, had to break the news of Adesanmi’s passing to their daughter.

“When Tise wished you an angelic goodbye, Prof… A courageous woman, your friend, your wife held back all her pains…to break this news to Tise! I am so humbled by this courage!!!!” Akinleye wrote in a Facebook post.
