Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Human Rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana has revealed he would have been surprised if Atiku had won the 2019 presidential election.
Femi Falana revealed this on Hard Copy, a Channels Television programme which airs on Fridays.
He said;
I would have been surprised if Atiku had won. Atiku’s emergence has negative implications. He will have to defend many negative comments by Obasanjo.
“He is under investigation by the United States Government. He never came out to deny the representation that he will enrich his friends. Atiku was going to sell the NNPC to his friends.”
Asked if Atiku could win in court, Falana said: “Atiku’s chances in court are very tough.”

Activist, Deji Adeyanju, has been released from prison after 78 days.
Adeyanju met all his bail conditions today March 1st and was released from Keffi prisons.
Deji Adeyanju, who was arrested on November 28th while leading a protest in Abuja, was released on Monday December 3rd from the federal prison in Keffi after meeting his bail condition but was re-arrested by a police team waiting around the prison.
He was re-arraigned in court by the police on Tuesday December 4th for Cyber Stalking, Inciting Disturbance, and Criminal Defamation. He was thereafter granted bail on December 6th.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,(Ibadan Zonal Office) yesterday, arraigned Bamidele Adegboyega (a.k.a Romona Clifford); Paul Damilola Olowoparija (a.k.a Kathleen Sandra Samuel and Olaleye Israel (a.k.a Sandra Samuel Precious).
They were arraigned before Hon. Justice P. I. Ajoko of the Federal High Court of Oyo State, sitting in Ibadan on separate charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretense, possession of fraudulent documents, sending of pornographic and indecent pictures and money laundering.
A statement from the anti-graft agency says the defendants took their pleas separately. Bamidele pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge, preferred against him. Similarly, Paul and Olaleye pleaded not guilty to a four-count charge, and seven-count charge, levelled against them respectively.
Prosecuting counsel, Mabas Mabur applied for a trial date and for the remand of the defendants in prison custody.
In his pronouncements, Justice Ajoko adjourned the case of first defendant to March 11, 2019 for hearing of bail application and April 5, 2019 for trial. In the same vein, he adjourned the case of the second defendant to March 13, 2019 for the hearing of the bail application and April 3, 2019 for trial.
The case of the third defendant was adjourned to March 15, 2019 for bail application and trial.
The judge also ordered the three defendants to be remanded in the Oyo State Prison, Agodi pending the hearing of their bail applications.
A Nigerian drug dealer/rapper who bragged about his criminal lifestyle in a music video he made has been jailed in the U.K.
Adetokunbo Ajibola, 26, was sentenced to a total of 5 years’ imprisonment at Harrow Crown Court on Friday, March, 1, 2019, after admitting to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of criminal property at a previous hearing.
As officers forced entry to the premises, Ajibola jumped from a second floor window and attempted to escape from officers. He was detained a short distance away on the roof of a garage and arrested
The rooms at the address were searched. The second floor was described in court as a “drug preparation factory”.
Officers found what was later confirmed as 241 grams of high-purity cocaine and mixing agents, along with nearly 60 grams of crack cocaine, and 240 grams of cannabis. The potential street value of the drugs was in excess of £30,000.
In Ajibola’s first-floor bedroom, officers found £13,000 in cash, a custom gold pendant and chain valued at around £15,000, and high-value clothing valued at more than £10,000. All of these items were seized.
Ajibola is a popular rapper who goes by the stage name Trapstar Toxic. A music video for a song called “Out Ere” that makes explicit references to drug dealing was introduced in prosecution evidence and shown to the court.
In this video Ajibola recited lyrics “weight [drugs] in the trap and I’ll be done if feds [police] raid it, I’m one step ahead I ain’t complacent”.
Passing sentence, the Recorder said that Ajibola was connected to “an extremely sophisticated, profitable drug operation”
PC Dec James from Brent Gangs Unit, who led the investigation, said: “Ajibola played a leading role in the control of the Class A and B drugs markets in the Willesden area.
On Thursday, the story of a two year old girl who came back home with stitches on her mouth and other parts of her body went viral on social media.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Niger State for allegedly killing his wife over sex starvation. The father of five is said to have killed his wife with a pestle.
The suspect identified as, Mohammed Manu was nabbed by the police in Barusa village in New Bussa, Borgu Local Government Area of the state last Wednesday after reportedly hitting his wife Hassana Bulous with a pestle on the head.
Hassana was said to have died instantly. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammad Abubakar, the suspect said he was angered by his frequent denial of sex by the deceased.

The police said Manu narrated that every time he wanted to have sex with the deceased, she would deny him, adding that after being frustrated, he used a pestle he picked from the kitchen to hit Hassana on the head resulting in her death.
Mohammed Manu when paraded before journalists, did not deny the allegation, but said he was pushed to the wall by his late wife who constantly denied him of sex.
He wondered why a housewife would be claiming one thing or the order when the husband demanded sex from her.
A Nigerian lawyer identified as Amara, who was married for 16 years before having a child has narrated how she covered the shame of childlessness with her sisters’ kids.

Nigerian singer, Harrysong has taken to social media to share his testimony after a live maggot was removed from his back when he went to Uganda to perform.
According to the singer, he took antibiotic after he noticed a boil on his back, but it didn’t clear off. However, the boil later came with severe pains which he couldn’t bear and he had to seek for medical help.

Toke Makinwa’s ex- husband baby mama, Anita Solomon has confirmed to a Lagos High Court that she didn’t give him sexually transmitted disease as contained in the book, ‘On Becoming’ written by the OAP.
Anita said this while responding to a question posed to her by Toke’s lawyer in the court of Hon justice Olukayode Ogunjobi On Friday 1 March 2019.
Toke is a defendant in a N100 Million defamation lawsuit instituted by Maje Ayida over content of her book ‘On Becoming’. In the book, Toke claimed she contracted STD from her husband. Findings from his phone, according to Toke, showed he got it from Anita, a claim denied by Anita and Maje.
Anita Solomon also disclosed that she got pregnant for the claimant because Maje and Toke already signed a legal document of separation and this was shown to her as a proof of their status by Maje. This document was not mentioned by Toke in the book, which is now a subject of litigation at the Lagos High Court.

Daniel Usman, the 19-yar-old student of Kogi State University, who was killed by political thugs while trying to vote in Anyigba, Kogi state on Saturday February 23rd, has been laid to rest.

President Muhamadu Buhari has warned that he will be tough in his governance of the country in the next four years.
President Buhari was re-elected after last Saturday’s election results were announced onTuesday February 26th.
He gave the warning while receiving members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) who paid him a congratulatory visit. According to President Buhari, this his new tenure will see him intensify his efforts in the three areas of security, economy and fighting corruption.
He also disclosed that he campaigned in all the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory to prove to his critics that he was fit.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will hold a supplementary elections on March 9, the same day as the earlier scheduled governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.
Festus Okoye, INEC’s national commissioner for information and voter education, said the supplementary polls will be conducted in areas where the poll was cancelled last Saturday, alongside the governorship and state houses of assembly elections.
He said the decision was reached during the commission’s meeting with resident electoral commissioners (RECs) on Thursday in Abuja.
INEC had cancelled the presidential elections in some areas as a result of violence in River state as well as other parts of Lagos and Anambra states.
