Nigerian social entrepreneur, Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, has taken to her social media page to plunge in on the marital crisis involving actors, Gbenro Ajibade and Osas Ighodaro.
Even as she tried to give her own advice to ensure things are resolved, she still showed whose side she was on – the entrepreneur lambasted Gbenro Ajibade over his recent outburst on social media.
According to her, a man leads the home and should not resort to bringing down his wife in public. For his online bashing of his better half, she opined that the model cum actor does not deserve Osas Ighodaro’s love.
In her own words,
“ON OSAS & GBENRO
This is my Son in my office, about 13months old in these photos in January 2019.
Mine is perhaps one of the most insane schedules a working woman can have.
On this day, I had important meetings at work, my Husband had travelled and my Son was ill, I was scared to take him to Creche so I packed a crib, his bags et al and took him to work. I took breaks in between calls & typing emails to change diapers and feed him.
I worked when he slept. That day, I learnt something very simple in a very profound way – RESPONSIBILITY TEACHES EMPATHY.
My colleagues came to check on my son & I seized the chance to tell the women to feel free to bring their children to work on challenging days like this if they have any.
People who work with me know I give a lot of room & support to our female staff. I menstruate so I understand the days they are moody & cranky. I know people have to come to work on days their boyfriends are breaking their hearts. Women go through multiple challenges in the line of duty while chinning up Professional Careers.
I read the ignominious public commentary Gbenro published on social media about his Wife, Osas yesterday & I cringe for Women who “marry down”.
To Bosses at Work & Husbands at home, if you’ve ever been responsible in your Life, you’ll know how to care & nurture. No one will need to teach you to be kind & liberal.
Even if Osas was ever wrong, that puerile outburst from an absentee husband/father is telling of his poor character.
I don’t hold brief for Osas & I hope she adjusts where/if she should but a Man whose diatribe on social media was intended to destroy you is unfit for your Leadership & undeserving of your Love.
One more reason I remain thankful for my healthy self esteem & radical mind which made me not marry till I turned 31 despite societal pressure but which also made me wait & live my life on my own terms until I met a grounded & solid Man who loves & respects me.
Men don’t come factory fitted or with NAFDAC No. so there are no perfect men anywhere but Never Marry Down Ladies. Keep Growing – Everything Good will come.
P.S. Enemies, It’s a Monday so I’m working and this has nothing to do with Feminism.”

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has urged the Federal Government to declare a two or three-day public holiday so as to enable people travel to cast their vote.
NLC stated this as they expressed disappointment at INEC’s decision to postpone the presidential election last Saturday.
NLC said via a statement by its president, Comrade Ayuba Wabba:
“We at the Nigerian Labour Congress join other Nigerians in expressing our shock at the last minute postponement of the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 16, 2019,” Wabba said.
“We share in the pains of those who in an uncommon show of patriotism, had to travel long distances to perform their civic duty. We similarly understand the outrage of those who had incurred huge and unquantifiable logistic costs. No explanation will be good enough given INEC’s repeated assurances and the zeal of Nigerians to cast their vote.
“However, given the fact that had the election taken place, a huge number of Nigerians would have been disenfranchised on account of gross and wide-spread logistic deficit, the postponement, as painful as it is, is a lesser evil of the two.”
The NLC however urged Nigerians to brace up for the rescheduled election and not to be disillusioned.

From the audio tape conversation between the kidnappers and the only sister to Jibril Shafaatu she sorrowfully shed tears bagging the captors to collect one million and release the boy but they insist on 15 millions.
Wallahi Shafaatu has no hundred thousand, she’s junior cadre civil servant, she has no way to produce 15 millions. Let’s help them Don Allah

President Buhari has said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) owes Nigerians detailed explanation for its decision to delay the general elections.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) emergency caucus meeting at the party secretariat, President Buhari said:
‘‘Definitely, the reasons such incompetence manifested have to be explained to the nation. After the elections, we have to know exactly what happened and who is responsible.
‘‘The constitution and the laws protect INEC but they must not take us for granted. If for example, the National Assembly refused to approve what INEC wanted, then INEC would have more than enough reasons why they couldn’t perform.
‘‘If the time for the constitutional elections, four years after was not obeyed by the government and the system, INEC will have a case. But we do not understand why this inefficiency and we have to move into details after the election to find out who’s responsible.’’
Noting that the electoral commission had all the time and resources it needed to conduct the polls, the President said there was no justification ‘‘to wait for only six hours to postpone the votes’’, in the early hours of February 16.
The President also used the occasion to warn all political actors to ensure an environment free from intimidation and violence for all eligible citizens to peacefully cast their ballot on the Election Day. The President announced that he has directed security agencies to contain any acts of lawlessness before, during and after the elections.
‘‘We are not going to be blamed of trying to rig the elections. I want Nigerians to be respected. Let them vote whoever they want across the parties. I am not afraid, I have gone to all 36 states and Abuja and I think I have enough support across the country,’’ he said.
President Buhari urged all APC supporters to vote peacefully in the upcoming elections.
‘‘We have so much to do and I think we should again go back to our loyal, committed people in all constituencies. If anything happens we have nobody to blame. We have to tell our constituencies that they have to be patient and act in a very responsible way by going peacefully to vote again, and they should depend on party representatives at each of the 176,000 polling units,’’ he said.
News of the failing health of Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as “Baba Suwe’’ has come as a shocker. A media personality has disclosed this on grounds of anonymity.

The OAP took to ranting about how selfish most actors are and how they never care for fellow filmmakers in need. Against this backdrop, the anonymous individual called out the names of several veteran acts. Baba Suwe allegedly down with unknown disease, colleagues not ready to help Baba Suwe.
He mentioned the likes of Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, Mr Latin and Oga Bello. Then he accused them of not helping their colleague. His rant was directed at the fact that these men were running away from rendering assistance to Baba Suwe, and this was not because he was a bad man but because they were stingy.
“Baba Suwe is a good man. None of his people can say he is bad. And they are not helping him not because he behaved badly to them. They are not helping him because they care only about their family. That’s the nature of our actors, there is no exception.
Imagine the caliber of people I told you I had spoken to about Baba Suwe’s case, yet none looks his way yet. But if, God forbid, he dies from the problem, they would be all over the place eulogising his qualities which they helped killed by their lack of empathy.” According to him, no filmmaker should rely on any colleague or expect help from them.
