A woman identified simply as Ade is reported to have been caught at Kuroda Hospital ‘yan kura in Kano at 2:30 am on Friday, February 15th, where she stole a newborn baby.

This comes after it was reported of one 23-year-old Blessing Aluna, who was arrested by men of the Niger state police command for selling her one-week old baby for N200,000.

According to reports, Blessing who resides in Rimi Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, was apprehended for allegedly conniving with Oludare Jeprince, who was said to be her boyfriend and accomplice, to kidnap and facilitate the sale of the baby.

When interrogated, Blessing blamed poverty for her action.

“Imagine me selling my child for money; that will tell you the level of hardship in the country. I sold my own child for N200,000 in order to open a provision store in Suleja at least to take care of myself and my siblings.”

Blessing said she regrets her action.

“I have done the worst thing to humanity and especially to my own child. I don’t think I deserve to be alive, let the law take its course.” she said

A man has been arrested after admitting to raping a dog and leaving it with internal injuries so severe it had to be euthanized. Fidel Lopez, 51, grew frustrated that his fiancée would not respond to his calls and texts and allegedly raped the dog as he lay in bed.

Lopez, from Portland, Oregon, told police that he’d been drinking alcohol at the time of the alleged incident and committed the assault “out of anger.”Estrella, a Lhasa Apso breed, initially “seemed fine” following the attack, court documents said.

The girlfriend later heard Estrella whining while hiding under the couch and discovered blood and injuries to the animal, Oregon Live reported.

She brought the dog to nearby animal DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital where vets took the decision to put the animal down.According to reports, the partner of Lopez told nurses that her partner displayed some “potential bestiality tendencies.”

He once bragged about watching another person sexually assault a dog and would occasionally show his genitals to them, she claimed. He also suggested getting a dog larger than Estrella, she said.

A necropsy was performed on Estrella after she was euthanised and traces of Lopez’s DNA were found in the dog.

Lopez is currently being detained at Multnomah County Detention Center on suspicion of first-degree aggravated animal abuse and sexual assault of an animal.

Baby benaian made the news a few weeks ago, after a video of his father, Monday Agoboye, protesting, publicly soliciting for funds to treat his sick child, went viral.

Baby Benaiah was born with multiple holes in his heart and was in dire need of a surgery which was estimated to cost N15 million. Nigerians rallied round and raised N70 million. Sadly, baby Benaiah died yesterday.

In a statement released today, Benaiah’s father, said they were on their way to the airport to fly to Dubai when he developed complications. He died at the Lagos State Teaching hospital where he was rushed to. The body of little Benaiah is currently at the morgue where an autopsy is to be carried out in a few days time. It is with great sadness that We announce the passing of our son, Baby Benaiah “braveheart” Agoboye. Baby Benaiah died on our way to the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for a flight to Dubai Scheduled for 12.55pm local time yesterday, the 15th of February, 2019. In our company at the time was the Doctor, whose duty was to manage Benaiah’s health on the trip. He battled extensively as we raced to Afriglobal Medicare, the nearest health facility on our way to the Airport, from where we proceeded to LASUTH; where unfortunately Baby Benaiah passed at about 10.30am. His body remains at LASUTH awaiting autopsy.

The family is deeply saddened by this event, as all arrangements had been concluded for Benaiah’s treatment at the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital(FZ LLC) in Dubai. We were scheduled to Fly with Emirates Airline, which was specially equipped with the facilities to manage Benaiah’s condition at a high altitude. We got into Lagos (when) in preparations to fly earlier but had to wait our turn since we were informed by the airline that there were other passengers with medical conditions earlier scheduled for the same arrangement.
