He chased the kids as they tried running away and he caught one of them, but the other kids ran into their community and claimed the man was a kidnapper who was chasing them to abduct them.

Emergency surgery was performed on him but he died hours later. The deceased’s name has been given as Paschal and the hashtag #Justice4Paschal is already trending on Twitter.

The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its nationwide industrial action.
National President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, announced this on Thursday during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress complex in Abuja.
The striking lecturers took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.
The meeting came hours before Professor Ogunyemi announced the decision of ASUU to suspend the strike.
It had in attendance leaders of the union and government representatives such as the permanent secretaries at the ministries of Education, as well as Labour and Employment, and some directors from the ministries.
Finally, ASUU strike to end as union reaches deal with FG
Signs that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will call off its over three-month-old industrial action came in the evening of Thursday, February 7, with the report that the association has reached an agreement with the federal government.
The agreement was signed by the leadership of ASUU and federal government after a series of meetings.
UPDATE:
Striking Nigerian university lecturers have accepted the proposal of the federal government but asked to be given until Thursday evening for words on ending their strike.
Biodun Ogunyemi, the National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) stated this on Thursday evening after a three-hour meeting with a government delegation.
“Our members are waiting for us currently at the and you will hear from us before the end of the day. We have signed a document on behalf of our members,” Mr Ogunyemi said.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said the government had resolved the eight contentious issues with ASUU. He said some of the issues have already been implemented.
ASUU embarked on an indefinite strike on November 4, 2018, demanding improved funding of universities and implementation of previous agreements with the government.
As at the time of this report, neither ASUU nor the federal government had provided details of the agreement signed.
However, Mr Ogunyemi had in November said to suspend the strike, the government must fully implement “the Memorandum of Action (MoA) the two parties willingly signed in October 2017,” he said.
“So the MoA must be implemented fully before we can even talk of suspension of the strike. If they implement the outstanding issues in the MoA fully and change the leadership of the negotiating team, then we can go back to the negotiation,” Mr Ogunyemi said.
According to Mr Ogunyemi, the union’s position is aimed at repositioning the nation’s universities for global relevance.
“As they (schools) currently stand, they can neither attract competent foreign lecturers or foreign students who could add to their global rating.
He also said ASUU was not happy going on strike but had no choice.
“Unfortunately, that is the language the government understands. Each time ASUU goes on strike, our work is disrupted. But what work are we doing under unfavourable conditions?” Mr Ogunyemi said.

Gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah has labeled all those who drink alcohol as people without their senses.
According to the minister of God, the Bible in the book of Ephesians 5:18 categorically described such people as senseless.
The Ghanaian evangelist gave the remark in response to a question about whether the Bible speaks against drinking of alcohol. She stated this during a recent interview on the ‘Zionfelix Uncut’ show.
Diana Asamoah also wondered why some people who see nothing wrong in drinking alcohol would still not board a vehicle being driven by someone drunk on alcohol. To her, that is another height of senselessness.

The police have been accused of freeing the two young men who drugged and raped a 23-year-old woman then filmed it with their phones.
The suspects, Razaq Oluwaseun Oke, 28 (right), and Don-Chima George, 25 (left), whose father owns Dallankester Hotels in Lekki Phase one, took the woman, 23, to a club on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019.
Unknown to the young woman, her male companions had an ulterior motive. While at the club, they mixed the young woman’s drink with a substance that made her weak and almost unconscious. Satisfied that the drug was beginning to affect the victim, they quietly left the club with her to Dallankester Hotels in Lekki Phase one, owned by the father of one of the suspects named Don-Chima George.
At the hotel, they allegedly took turns to rape her and they filmed the abuse on their mobile phones (read ICYMI).
The suspected rapists were arrested after the victim called her brother and he came with police officers. The suspects denied raping the girl but their mobile devices were searched and a video of the men abusing their unconscious victim was seen on their phone.
They were immediately arrested. But according to social media users, the young men have now been released from jail

Actor Tokunbo Awoga has exposed his fellow Nollywood actors who show off cars on Instagram with claims that they just newly purchased them.
According to Tokunbo Awoga, many of such instances have to do with the actors/actresses getting those cars from car dealers on higher purchase.
He even spoke of a colleague ofbjisbin the industry who still warms the bed of a car dealer after she got a car from him which she flaunted on Instagram.
Tokunbo Awoga wrote:
I seriously don’t know what is wrong with people these days, you post houses, cars etc… You do a picture mix of yourself with the car and all post and start begging peeps to help you repost please how much is that repost bringing to your table??? Yes, it’s good to have the good things of life but you must learn these things are not for public display, they are your personal achievement.. You don’t need to buy a car and tell us about your life drama, we care less… It doesn’t mean we are not happy for you but a yoruba adage says “Ti isu eni ba ta, a man fi owo bo je ni” A lot of people have done worse things trying to live up to the fakeness they see on IG, some even borrow cars and all to post just to live the fake life, I know of some actually warming the bed of car dealers just to come to IG every 5-6months to post cars that were given to them just temporarily…. When you don’t even have a steady income as an upcoming actor and you went to get an higher purchase car of 6million and above and only dropped 1million, please how do you intend paying the rest, how much are you bn paid per movie, what’s the sense in this foolishness??
He continued:
Selling your soul to the devil just to come brag on IG or selling your body for material things. As much as I don’t want to talk about this, it is becoming alarming day after day what my people do just to come here on IG to display their childishness and foolishness. “Omo oju o ri ola ri, lo n so omo e ni ola ni yo nu” Instagram is supposed to be a means of promoting your business and projecting your creativity and ideas to the world. You bn rich, successful or happy is not measured by houses, cars and all but by greater things. There’s nuffn bad in taking a selfie in your car or a picture in your living room but a lot of people need to realise that the car you are flaunting and picture mixing interior and exterior is another mans give away object yet he is not making noise…. it’s wiser to buy a bag of 50k and have 1million in it than to buy a bag of 1million and have 50k in it… Let’s start making use of our brains, it’s important Ooo”
