It is Important to let the general public know that we have worked with the Minister since February 2015 till date and that the minister has not in any way spoken against the president Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements.

Tall lady struggles to find love because of her height

A tall lady has opened up about her struggles to find love because of her height – the apparent reason for this is not many men are taller than her.

The 26-year-old Taekwondo star, Jade Slavin who stands at 6ft 4in has embraced her height after years of bullying.

Jade was offered a place to represent Team GB in taekwondo at the age of 21, and went on to win the Commonwealth Championships in Glasgow in 2014, and made two world championships and European championships.

It soon became clear to Jade that it was her height that contributed to her success in the sport, as she had the leg length that other athletes longed for.

She said,

“One of the main struggles I face is finding clothes to fit my extremely long legs. Not many shops offer tall sections and if they do there is not much choice.

“Another struggle is dating as I like boys to be the same height or taller than me and there aren’t many tall boys in my area.”

Jade has given her words of advice to others who might feel insecure about their height. She says,

“Don’t ever let anyone bring you down. I spent so much time hating myself and would cry to my mum wishing I was ‘normal’.

“But embrace being different. It has brought me so much success being tall which I would not have achieved if I was smaller.

“Embrace who you are and don’t let anybody dull your sparkle”

Man stabbed to death in Rivers for pasting campaign posters

A young man was reportedly stabbed to death on Saturday, for pasting campaign posters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The deceased who had a fight with one Henry Ekeozor around 8.20pm, was not a member of the All Progressives Congress, but was contracted to paste the campaign posters of Collyns Owondah, a House of Representatives candidate of the party in the area.

It was learnt that the fight ensued after Henry and his mother, Ifeoma Ekeozor, a woman leader of the APC in the area, expressed dissatisfaction over the pasting of campaign posters of the House of Representatives candidate on the wall of their residence.

The fierce argument degenerated into a fight and Punch reported that Dike who was stabbed in the chest, bled to death before he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead by doctors.

“The woman (Ifeoma Ekeozor) is a woman leader in the APC, while the man, whose campaign posters were being posted, is also of the same political party, but they belong to different factions of the party.

“The young man pasting the campaign poster was Chimezie Dike from the Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State. The boy came to the street to paste the posters of a politician running for an election.

“In the process, the son of the woman leader began to quarrel with him and within a short time, the son of the woman stabbed Chimezie. He (Chimezie) died before he got to the hospital” a source identified as Dengi said.

Another eyewitness said;

“The woman (Ifeoma Ekeozor) even broke a bottle during the argument. Everybody parked out of the house because a group of youths, who were not happy about the killing of the boy, went ahead to ransack people’s houses.

“A journalist staying in the building lost some of her property, including a laptop, after she left the place in a hurry to avoid being injured. The house is a three-storey building and the shop operated by the woman (Ifeoma) is on the ground floor.

“The young man pasting the poster, the woman and her son are all APC supporters, but they belong to different factions. He (Chimezie) was rushed to the hospital that night, while the mother of the attacker was arrested the same day by policemen from the Azikiwe Police Station.”

MC Galaxy takes swipe at Soundcity over awards

MC Galaxy in a new Instagram post shared on Sunday, subtly shaded Soundcity over their awards event held over the weekend, which had Burna Boy as a big winner of the night.

MC Galaxy’s post on Instagram read;

Either award or no award, Fine girl and Ohaa give us money for 2018. Rubbish, Naija will always be Naija lol

It should be noted that Mc Galaxy is not the only artiste who frowned at the awards organizers as you would recall, we reported that Peruzzi reacted to Teni winning the “Best New Artist” on Saturday at the 2018 SoundCity MVP Awards.

The singer said that he made more money last year than any other new act in Nigeria, also noting that he personally feels he worked the hardest than any other new act. He wrote in a now deleted Tweet;

Personally I’d say I worked the hardest last year than any other new act, same way I made more money last year than any other new act in the country. There’s a way I see myself, it’s MY race, there’s a way I’m running it. Focus on yours. Facts over hype. It’s really simple.

I fell for her — 24 year old Lady who proposed to her 61 year old Lesbian Lover.

YouTube star Julia Zelg, 24, proposed to her girlfriend, 61-year-old Eileen de Freest, just before Christmas.

Julia, originally from Brazil, first revealed she had a new girlfriend to her fans back in September, after the couple met on Tinder.

“She’s just my soulmate

“I was just planning to enjoy my single life and have fun and stuff, and in the process of doing that, I met her and just fell for her.”

Their whirlwind romance saw them announce they were moving in together later that same month, and they’ve even adopted a kitten called Brittney who lives with them in their London home.

Julia said in a vlog to fans: “You’re probably thinking, wow you just met and you’re moving in together.”

They both acknowledged it was a “quick and new thing”, but Eileen said they were “consolidating their lives. “We’re not just acting impulsively we’ve talked about everything. “There are so many good reasons to move in together. And we’re both really really happy”

Their relationship blossomed, and Eileen, originally from America, said yes after Julia got down on one knee.

The couple jetted to Brazil to meet Julia’s parents for Christmas, with Eileen greeting her as “my future mother-in-law”.

And now the couple are busy planning their wedding, scheduled for later this year.

Despite claiming they’re just like any other couple, their relationship has attracted some criticism.

‘The only way Nigeria can change is for everybody to be killed’ – Amaechi reveals

Amaechi reveals only Nigerian can change

Rotimi Amaechi, has reportedly described Nigeria as hopeless, saying the only way for the country to make progress is for “everybody to be killed”.

According to an audio released by Phrank Shaibu, an aide of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Amaechi, who is minister of transportation, said this in a conversation with some journalists.

The minister was heard saying there would be a university in his village after the plans to build one in Daura, hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina state, have been concluded.

Amaechi is from Ubima in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers state.

TheCable could not independently verify the audio. It is unclear when the conversation took place but it has been generating reactions on social media.

“This country can never change, I swear. The only way this country can change is in a situation where everybody is killed,” Amaechi said in the audio.

“This country is going nowhere. When Magnus (Abe) was secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), I told him that this country is hopeless and helpless and he told me, ‘Oga, stop it’. This cannot be coming from a governor.

“But two months in Abuja, Magnus came to meet me and said, I agree with you; this country is hopeless and helpless. All they do in Abuja is to share money.

“I have already written to the governor of Katsina state and I don’t know why he has not replied to give us the land in Daura for a university in Daura. The next university would be in my village. There is a popular saying while we were growing up, that charity begins at home. Will my own begin abroad?

“The president does not listen to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write what you want to write. Does he read? I was flying with him in the aircraft and we saw a news report where a goat seller was complaining that he couldn’t sell his goats during Sallah because of Buhari’s administration. And the president said what my business with goat sellers is?”

David Iyiofor, spokesman of the minister, could not be reached for comments as of the time this report was filed. He neither answered calls nor responded to a text message sent.

Commenting on the audio, Shaibu asked Nigerians to vote against Buhari in the forthcoming election.

He said a vote for the president “is a vote for stagnation”, asking Buhari to “quit honourably instead of wasting tax payers monies on his reelection bid”.

“The truth is that, the other day, the President confessed that the economy had collapsed under his watch. On another occasion , the wife confessed to the fact that, the canal and not her dearest husband, President Buhari was in charge of the country and now, the director-general of his re-election campaign has confessed to the lack of capacity of President Buhari and the dismal failure of hid administration,” he said in a statement.

“The truth is, the president has established a record of failures which probably no other President would ever equal or erase. Mrs Aishat Buhari was partially correct when she stated that two people are preventing her husband from performing well. With this audio tape, if the two don’t include her husband then she is not completely being truthful.”

“Nigerian men are not good for me, I’m marrying a white man” – Sylvia Edem

Rising Nollywood actress, Sylvia Edem has maintained her stance on marrying a white man and she says she still hopes this comes to fulfillment as she doesn’t think Nigerian men are good enough for her.

The actress made this revelation in an interview with Dupe Ayinla-Olasunkanmi, where she also spoke on her work, social responsibilities, among other issues.

Sylvia Edem

Read excerpts from her interview below,

How would you describe this year?

This year, I would say, was great, though was a little bit of pot holes. But, I mean, that’s life. But in all, I am grateful because I have been able to conquer those obstacles.

What attracted you to begin a career in acting?

I actually started acting because it is something I had passion for and studied, producing my own movie which is IMA and Sand Castle which went to the cinemas across nation,

Describe your acting style

I would say I am versatile, charismatic when it comes to role interpretations.

Tell me about what you are working on now

I am working on a project (the Nigerian peace project) to be flagging off in the eastern part of Nigeria before the 2019 general election. This is coming after Sand Castle, the movie which premiered last year for the physically-challenged.

All my movies or projects always have a message; just like Sand Castle telling the physically-challenged that they are not different from any other person, they are accepted and that they can be who they want to be.

As a matter of fact, we’ll be giving out free tickets of the movie to the physically-challenged in every state we go to screen it.

What is the Nigerian Peace Project all about?

It is a door-to-door peace movement initiated by Sylvia Edem Foundation in advocacy of a peaceful Nigeria. The Nigerian peace project which is proposed to hold nationwide with the handles, #greenerpeacerally, #greenerpeacewaka is aimed at building national peace and unity, using the youths as the drivers of the peace crusade.

The mandate of the project is dedicated to celebrate young people’s contribution to conflict prevention, social justice and sustainable peace, towards the transformation of the Nigerian nation from a chaotic hub to an umbrella of reconciliation and unity. The Nigerian Peace Project presents a perfect opportunity for young people to take a front seat in the 2030 agenda for sustainable development of the United Nations.

The Nigerian peace project team will like to reach out to his Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, the sitting governor of Akwa Ibom State and other leaders in Nigeria to support this great initiative from the young minds of Nigeria. It’s a message to protect our unborn children; it’s a message to secure the atmosphere of our next generation The Nigerian peace project has come to stay.

Have you progressed in your career as you expected?

I will say I am not yet where I want to be in the industry. But I am thankful for where I am today, because it is not where I used to be. And I am still pushing and I know by God’s grace I am getting there.

How do you interact with difficult directors?

When I am working with difficult directors, I try to put myself in their shoes and just be loyal, because it’s only loyalty that can take you far in this industry. You have to learn how to be tolerant too. You will also be in that position someday, so you need to learn how to deal with such people. That is the only way you can get your work done without any hindrance.

In which area would you like to improve as an actor?

I would want to improve in all aspects of my career. I would love to be able to interpret roles and make it believable to my audiences. I also want to be more sassy and sexy when interpreting some characters. I want to take my acting career to a level that is different in the future. I will be seeking for more challenging roles because it makes you strong and more dedicated as an actor.

Of all the roles you have acted, which is your favourite?

My role in Ima acting as a timid Calabar girl.

Do you belong to any union?

Yes I belong to Actors Guild of Nigeria; where we interact with great minds.

What motivates you?

What motivates me as an actor? There are a lot because I like to know things about other professions. It is not just about acting; there are some other areas that one need to know about, which can also help build your career and personality.

I get motivated when am applauded for something I do because that makes me know I am actually doing the right thing.

Tell me about a time where you had difficulty with a character and why was it challenging?

I had difficulty with a character I played in Sand Castle movie. I played the role of a blind pregnant wife of a senior colleague. It was challenging because I was producing at the same time.

Sylvia Edem

Which was your first role as an actor?

My first role was in Cross River State, directed Jetta Amata. The movie also featured Rita Dominic and other top actors then. It was a waka pass, which wasn’t a speaking role.

Have you changed your mind on marrying a Nigerian guy?

Nope, I haven’t changed my mind about marrying a white man. Yea, I do believe in the saying that ‘Love conquers all’.

I don’t have a problem with Nigerian men but I just feel they are not right for me. I’ve been in one or two relationships with Nigerian men, and I tried to make it work but it didn’t work, it didn’t favour me. I’ve actually said I wanted to marry a white man right from when I was growing up. It’s not like Nigerian men are that bad but this is my own choice; it’s what I want. After trying two relationships with Nigerian men and it didn’t work for me, I gave up.

Producing Sand Castle, which was the best part as a producer?

Working with Wale Ojo has been nothing short of a humbling experience. It was quite exciting because he is so big in Nollywood. I was so happy working with him because he was very encouraging and his advice on set was wow!

I really appreciate him for that. And you know, whenever I was intimidated by his presence he would just say ‘Sylvia, feel free and just be yourself.’ There were moments I was trying to hold back but he was like ‘don’t do that, be yourself. I know you are a very good actress. I know you can pull this off.’

He really liked the fact that as a young girl I was taking on the challenge of producing a movie and also acting in the same movie.

As a social responsibility, do you have any group you contribute to?

I do have an NGO which is the Nigerian Peace Project, an initiative of Sylvia Edem Foundation.

What do you think has brought you this far?

It is just God. The little I do cannot be compared to what God does for me; it is the grace of God that has brought me this far.

I’m Not Wicked But Very Soft-Hearted And I Cry Easily — Actress Patience Ozokwor Opens Up

Patience Ozokwor Opens Up

Veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G, is unarguably one of the best that the silver screen has seen in recent times.

She speaks with Punch about her career, marriage and other issues.

Excerpts

Do you sometimes regret acting ‘wicked’ roles in movies?

Any actor worth his salt should be able to deliver on whatever role he or she is given to play. For people to be so affected by the roles I have played means that I did a good job in interpreting the characters I was given.

However, I wouldn’t like to pass wrong messages to anyone through my movies.

Don’t you feel stereotyped at times?

If you study my career, you will realise that I have played a lot of roles over the years. However, the ones where I act as a strict or vocal person are the ones that have been more popular. I guess that’s what people like.

However, I always strive to strike a balance and I don’t act just one type of role.

Some people feel you are able to act as a wicked mother-in-law so well because you are one in real life. Is that really so?

Nothing can be farther from the truth. I am a simple person who doesn’t like to interfere in other people’s lives.

Sometimes, I cry when I watch some of the movies I acted in. I am nothing like that and you can never see me where wicked acts are being perpetuated. If anybody close to me does something wrong, I will not shield the person. Like I have said several times, I am an actress and every character I have ever played ended on the set.

You got married at a young age. In what ways did that experience impact on your growth as a person?

I believe firmly that everything that happens to a person is ordained by God. You may not understand why you’re going through certain situations but as you grow older, you will recognise the hand of God in your life.

Truly, I got married at a young age due to the bidding of my parents. At that age, marriage wasn’t what was on my mind but I had to go into it to make my parents happy. It was a combination of good and bad times but I thank God because that experience really built me as a person and taught me a lot. It made me more mature. As a young girl going into marriage, I didn’t have it rosy at that point because I didn’t understand many things. At the time I got married to my husband, I had a lot of suitors vying for my hands in marriage but I had to go with my parents’ choice.

However, my late husband was a good man and he took care of his family.

Why do you think your parents made that choice for you?

The question would be best answered by them.

Your late husband was sick for sometime before he passed. How did you cope then?

It wasn’t really a palatable experience and I don’t like to recollect it. However, God was able to get us through. Living with someone who is ill could be very challenging because you have to do many things on your own. At times, it could be frustrating but one would keep hoping that the sick person gets better. When he finally died, I felt very bitter but I could not question God. Recall that I was also quite young at the time.

After you got born again, you changed your style of dressing and advocated same for others. Considering that people have criticised you for that, how do you feel?

I did not advocate anything for anybody. We all have our lives to live and we have different relationships with God. That I decide to dress in a particular way doesn’t mean everybody else has to do the same. The important thing is to be decent at all times.

What will Nigerians find surprising to know about you?

I am very soft-hearted and I cry easily. However, I believe in facing whatever is at hand squarely and doing a good job. Even if I will cry later, I could do that in my closet.

How do you like to dress?

I dress simply and comfortably.

Lady recounts how armed robbers killed her mother on New Year’s Day

A Nigerian lady has taken to twitter to give the narrative on how armed robbers killed her mum on New Year’s day.

According to her, they just got back from the New Year’s cross over service, only to be attacked by robbers in their home and right before her, her mum was shot.

She was rushed to the hospital, but the medical personnel refused to treat her just because there was no Police report. She wrote on the sad incident,

January 1, 2019. I saw my own mother get shot at. I saw her in a pool of her own blood. I saw the armed robbers rough handle my father and all I could do was scream. Under the cover of festivity and firework sounds, my mum was murdered on New Years day.

My dad was admitted and so was I. 2019 has started on the worst note ever. My hero and life giver has fallen. The robbers took all working devices in the house and it was too late to call for help. My dad’s birthday was yesterday. I’ve never seen him cry but I did this year.

January 1st can never be a happy day for me anymore. It will always be a reminder of what has been taken from my dad and siblings. This heartbreak is too much for me. It is still like a bad dream. A nightmare.

Nigerian lady monitors her panties with cutlass while sun drying them (Photos)

In light of the recent trending crime of stealing ladies’ panties by alleged Yahoo boys, a quite funny unidentified Nigerian lady has been pictured drying her under wears outside and holding cutlass to save guard them.

The lady is certainly not taking any chances with anybody who’d try to steal her underwear and use for ritual purposes as it has been reported occasionally.

She’s seen holding a cutlass next to her underwears which were spread on a line.
