A quite romantic boyfriend who proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of a bridge, had her stunned and in tears with the romantic gesture which was captured on camera.

The boyfriend who proposed to his girlfriend of over 5 years in the middle of a wooden bridge during a recent adventure in Zimbabwe, shared that he has been waiting for years for the best moment.

The proposal which was quite a thing for the lady to take in, had her burst into tears.

She speaks with Punch about her career, marriage and other issues.

Excerpts

Do you sometimes regret acting ‘wicked’ roles in movies?

Any actor worth his salt should be able to deliver on whatever role he or she is given to play. For people to be so affected by the roles I have played means that I did a good job in interpreting the characters I was given.

However, I wouldn’t like to pass wrong messages to anyone through my movies.

Don’t you feel stereotyped at times?

If you study my career, you will realise that I have played a lot of roles over the years. However, the ones where I act as a strict or vocal person are the ones that have been more popular. I guess that’s what people like.

However, I always strive to strike a balance and I don’t act just one type of role.

Some people feel you are able to act as a wicked mother-in-law so well because you are one in real life. Is that really so?

Nothing can be farther from the truth. I am a simple person who doesn’t like to interfere in other people’s lives.

Sometimes, I cry when I watch some of the movies I acted in. I am nothing like that and you can never see me where wicked acts are being perpetuated. If anybody close to me does something wrong, I will not shield the person. Like I have said several times, I am an actress and every character I have ever played ended on the set.

You got married at a young age. In what ways did that experience impact on your growth as a person?

I believe firmly that everything that happens to a person is ordained by God. You may not understand why you’re going through certain situations but as you grow older, you will recognise the hand of God in your life.

Truly, I got married at a young age due to the bidding of my parents. At that age, marriage wasn’t what was on my mind but I had to go into it to make my parents happy. It was a combination of good and bad times but I thank God because that experience really built me as a person and taught me a lot. It made me more mature. As a young girl going into marriage, I didn’t have it rosy at that point because I didn’t understand many things. At the time I got married to my husband, I had a lot of suitors vying for my hands in marriage but I had to go with my parents’ choice.

However, my late husband was a good man and he took care of his family.

Why do you think your parents made that choice for you?

The question would be best answered by them.

Your late husband was sick for sometime before he passed. How did you cope then?

It wasn’t really a palatable experience and I don’t like to recollect it. However, God was able to get us through. Living with someone who is ill could be very challenging because you have to do many things on your own. At times, it could be frustrating but one would keep hoping that the sick person gets better. When he finally died, I felt very bitter but I could not question God. Recall that I was also quite young at the time.

After you got born again, you changed your style of dressing and advocated same for others. Considering that people have criticised you for that, how do you feel?

I did not advocate anything for anybody. We all have our lives to live and we have different relationships with God. That I decide to dress in a particular way doesn’t mean everybody else has to do the same. The important thing is to be decent at all times.

What will Nigerians find surprising to know about you?

I am very soft-hearted and I cry easily. However, I believe in facing whatever is at hand squarely and doing a good job. Even if I will cry later, I could do that in my closet.

How do you like to dress?

I dress simply and comfortably.

Lady recounts how armed robbers killed her mother on New Year’s Day

A Nigerian lady has taken to twitter to give the narrative on how armed robbers killed her mum on New Year’s day.

According to her, they just got back from the New Year’s cross over service, only to be attacked by robbers in their home and right before her, her mum was shot.

She was rushed to the hospital, but the medical personnel refused to treat her just because there was no Police report. She wrote on the sad incident,

January 1, 2019. I saw my own mother get shot at. I saw her in a pool of her own blood. I saw the armed robbers rough handle my father and all I could do was scream. Under the cover of festivity and firework sounds, my mum was murdered on New Years day.

My dad was admitted and so was I. 2019 has started on the worst note ever. My hero and life giver has fallen. The robbers took all working devices in the house and it was too late to call for help. My dad’s birthday was yesterday. I’ve never seen him cry but I did this year.

January 1st can never be a happy day for me anymore. It will always be a reminder of what has been taken from my dad and siblings. This heartbreak is too much for me. It is still like a bad dream. A nightmare.

The lady is certainly not taking any chances with anybody who’d try to steal her underwear and use for ritual purposes as it has been reported occasionally.

“President Buhari is not my cousin and he is not my uncle” – Amina Zakari says in new interview

Chairman of the INEC Committee on Collation Centre for the general elections, Amina Zakari, has responded to reports that she is a relation of President Buhari.

Zakari in an interview with BBC, said the allegation that President Buhari is her Uncle is unfounded and totally false.

Zakari made news on Thursday last week when the electoral body, INEC, announced she would be the head of the collation for the presidential election.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is my President as [he is] everybody else’s President. He is not my cousin, he is not my uncle as is being claimed,” Zakari said in the BBC interview.

While rejecting the claims, Zakari explained that she had done her job diligently over the years without scandal or blame. She pointed out that she was first appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2010 and served as a Special Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo prior to that.

“I have done my job conscientiously over the years as a patriotic citizen of Nigeria. I don’t think I should be distracted now that elections are coming forward. I will continue doing my work. I will continue serving my country to the best of my ability with the best of intentions.”

She noted that she had always been part of INEC activities including the 2015 presidential election which President Buhari, her supposed uncle, lost to Jonathan.

“I have been on this job since 2010 and this same President lost an election and the people that complained have worked closely with me. They have not in any way accused me of any wrongdoing over the years and I have done my work diligently. I was in charge of political party monitoring for four years – from 2010 to 2014. There was not a single scandal to my name and nobody can claim to have paid me or asked me to do anything wrong. And if they have, I would love them to come forward and prove it to the nation and to the world at large because this is getting into a global dimension.” she said

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, he’s spoken about the gift to his friend, an act which many term to be PR stunt. He said;

“It is very normal for people to think that my gesture was a publicity stunt because of the type of industry that we’re in. When I bought my first car, I did not post anything about it online neither did I do that for my second car.

I just wanted to appreciate my friend for his loyalty. We have been together now for over 10 years. We met at the Mountain of Fire church branch at Mushin, Lagos; we were both in the drama group. At a time when people in the group went on with their lives, we stuck together. From there, we both joined a dance group.

However, at a time, Kreb had an accident that resulted in a dislocation; so, he could not dance again. I then left the group because I was actually there because of him. I also used to be a music producer and we worked together.

I had a studio in my parent’s home then and we always did things together. Many times, we would go around Lagos looking for one opportunity or the other. He has always been very loyal to me and it is not out of place for me to appreciate him.”

Let’s be straight… Most of you all are of the opinion that Aunty Shaggi is Broda Shaggi’s girlfriend.. and if they weren’t dating, He must have been hitting it somehow… and the rumors even increased when Shaggi bought her a car.

However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Aunty Shaggi maintained that she had a boyfriend. Speaking about her relationship, she said:

“My boyfriend knows that what is between Broda Shaggi and me is work. Also, I don’t think Broda Shaggi’s girlfriend sees me as a threat too.”

Aunty Shaggi also stated that the car gift came as a surprise to her too. She said,

“When the car was presented to me, it took me about 20 minutes to come to terms with it. I kept shouting that it was a lie. It was an amazing feeling and I felt overwhelmed. This is my first car.”

Describing 2018 as her year of rebirth, she said,

“Last year was great for me. I was accepted by Broda Shaggi, which gave me the needed exposure. I visited the United Kingdom and started my own initiative, A Date with the Counsellor. As if all these were not enough testimonies, God crowned it all with the gift of a car from Samuel Perry.”

Chioma deletes Instagram Account after Davido celebrated his baby mamas.

It’s been a while we heard from Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma.. and we then took a stroll down her Instagram page, to catch up and know what’s happening in her life.. and Alas!!! Her page was no where to be found…

Thus the speculations……..

Chioma is a very private person.. She was kept hidden for a while until Davido made her public after he dedicated a song, “Assurance” to her, and even bought her a brand new porsche.

Ever since then, Chioma has been exposed to the Social media world, and we saw more of her on Social media.. Her Instagram page even skyrocketed with thousands of new followers following her account. She even nabbed a multi-million endorsement for a cooking show.

However, surprisingly, as at the time of filing this report, Chioma is no where to be found on Instagram.. Her verified Instagram account, with the handle, @thechefchi is deleted off Instagram.. It returns the error, “Content Unavailable”, this is a general error for “Deactivated accounts” or “Accounts that has been deleted by Instagram themselves”.

Now, lets take you back a bit..

Recall, On Christmas Day, Chioma revealed via her Insta story, that it was her worst day ever… But her boyfriend, Davido, partied hard in Owerri.

The couple, reunited for his Lagos concert on the 27th of December when he brought her up on stage during his performance.

Again, not too long, Davido took to his page to hail his two baby mamas, Amanda and Sophia, for coming together to form some sort of friendship, all for the sake of their kids.

Shortly after that post, it was noticed that Chioma’s account had disappeared……

Meanwhile, there has been no sign of her on Davido’s pages either as he celebrated New Year’s Day in Uganda and didn’t take her along as he usually does .

There have been many theories as to why it was deleted. Some say she must have fallen out with Davido and decided to go offline, others say maybe a scandal is brewing and she has decided to save herself the embarrassment by going away.

Others have also said Davido posting his baby mamas on Instagram may be an indication all was not well in his relationship as he has never done that since he started dating Chioma .

JJC Skillz has urged his followers to ‘pay attention to their dreams’, as he’s disclosed that he once dreamt that he’d marry Funke Akindele but she never believed him.

According to JJC Skillz, he dreamt of marrying Funke Akindele in 2012, however after a week of romance they broke. However they came back together after the actress made a move. He wrote;

I have to testify ? God is great ? I had a dream one night around Christmas 2012 that I will be married to @funkejenifaakindele and believing in the mighty God I trust ?? I approached and she didn’t believe me. Daaaaah ? Lol ? A week of romance Ended ? We broke up and I wrote this song to send a message of what is to come. ?? My God has never lied or lead me astray ??? A year later she had a calling to find me and so the story continues. The Master architect is at work.

This is coming after Abdulrasheed Bello popularly known as JJC revealed that one of his daughters, convinced him to marry Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele.

He also said his children with other women have accepted Funke Akindele as his partner. JJC, who spoke in an interview with Playground TV, said,

“Well, before we got married in London, we all had a good relationship here in Nigeria.

“The kids were always seeing this beautiful woman around daddy, and she always makes him happy. They might be away and in different continents, but they are part of our daily activities.

“The is also very close to them, they met her digital first. They didn’t know she was an actress then, because in the UK, they hardly watch Nigerian movies, but they love her so much.

“They all love each other. It’s a perfect blend. I remember my daughter telling me ‘Dad make sure you marry her. She’s a keeper.

“ And I did, I followed my daughter’s advice. One of my songs, Save The Last Dance’ was written for my wife, she really saved the last dance for me.”

So, the boyfriend who has been accused of using his girlfriend, Wendy for rituals, has spoken.

The boyfriend, via the comment section on Instablog’s story has revealed that Wendy is very much alive, as her family and friends are trying to extort him.

He wrote; “You all are fools, she is alive; they are trying to collect money from me. Useless family.”

Also, those in the know have also alleged that Wendy is indeed alive, and she faked the whole conversation just to get at her boyfriend, who allegedly impregnated another girl.

Lady arrested for stalking man with over 159,000 text messages

A woman has been arrested for stalking a man with over 159,000 text messages. She began sending the messages after she went on a single date with him.

31-year-old Jacquelyn Ades threatened the man in some of the text messages.

Ades, a licensed beautician from Florida, met the unnamed victim, identified only as the CEO of a Scottsdale-area company that sells skincare products, through the dating site Luxy, which bills itself as a dating service for millionaires.

The two went out together once, but the man was not interested in pursuing a relationship with Ades, documents stated. Despite that, the woman continued sending him text messages, sometimes up to 500 a day. The businessman contacted police in July 2017 when he spotted Ades parked outside his Paradise Valley home.

Before long, Ades allegedly began inundating the object of her apparent obsession with increasingly threatening messages, including one that read,

’I’d make sushi outta ur kidneys n chopsticks outta ur hand bones.’

Ades’ arrest records indicate that the woman was ‘showing signs of mental illness.’ In April 2018, the victim was remotely checking his home surveillance video when he spotted Ades.

Police officers went to the home and found the 31-year-old woman taking a bath in the man’s tub. When police searched Ades’ car, they found a large butcher knife on the passenger seat.

When asked by police to explain her presence inside the man’s home, Ades replied:

‘I guess that I made up a whole scenario in my head where I live here, so I came here and pretended that’s what was happening.’

The victim said after that incident, Ades sent him more threatening texts.

When asked if she thought her messages were normal, she said:

‘No, I don’t think anything I say is normal.’

Ades said she understood that the man did not want to be with her.

‘It’s OK if that’s how [he] feels,’ she said. ‘Somebody else should love him. He has so much to love. He’s so cute. I can’t believe I scared him.’

Ades is currently being held without bond at Maricopa County Jail. She is scheduled to go on trial in February.

There’s a trending ritual story making rounds in Benin City, Edo State.. and it involves a popular video vixen/model identified as Wendy and her boyfriend.

According to the chats she had with her friends, just before her death, she dreamt that she was bleeding, and was told in the dream, that her boyfriend had used her for ritual.

Upon waking up, she noticed that she was indeed bleeding through her private part, and she it wasn’t her period, as she had already seen her period.

Immediately after this, she quickly called her pastor, who confirmed to her that her boyfriend, had indeed used her for rituals.

Wendy went on to reveal that the pastor told her to have a river bath within 3 days or risk losing her life. However, it seems she eventually lost the battle.

Wendy’s friends have since started storming her social media pages to mourn her.

Daddy Freeze reacts to Dolapo Badmus’s statement on pant stealers

Controversial On-air personality, Daddy Freeze has reacted to the Police Public relations officer, Dolapo Badmus saying people who are caught stealing pants for ritual purposes will be charged with murder.

According to Freeze, a statement like this may in fact make Burna Boy right about saying some Nigerians are fools and unprogressive.

Sharing the photo above, Freeze wrote;

”When stealing pants is now the equivalent of attempted murder don’t you think it’s high time we started taking @burnaboygram more seriously??

“Burna was a ? we are indeed screwed!”

Earlier today, The Nigerian police reacted to the alarming increase of pant thieves in the society for money ritual purposes.

Media personality, Toke Makinwa has issued a 24-hr ultimatum to a deadbeat dad, whom she simply identified as Bolaji.

She took to her Social Media to reveal that she was sick and tired of men who don’t take their responsibilities.

Toke Makinwa revealed how the man beat up his baby mama, and also smashed her phone in the process.

Her Post reads :

I am sick of deadbeat fathers. This year I will not tolerate any shit from any man who decides to play God. If you put a woman in the family way, stand up and be counted. It’s not about not having money, the little you have is more honorable than nothing.

How do you sleep well at night? I don’t care what transpired between you two, no one forced you to have sex. a child was brought into this world and you two are responsible for that child. I am raising so many kids that I did not help create, now that’s not a problem for me cos many years ago I asked God to make me a lender to nations and as much as I can I’ll continue to support however I can.

What I won’t take is for you to beat the mother of your child. Even worse, in the presence of that child. Don’t go around beating anyone period! I am giving you 24 hours to contact her, buy back the phone you smashed in the process. How dare you threaten her? This one will be your last. You go to her, apologize to her and leave her the heck alone. If you are not going to support them, do not stand in her way.

Mikel Obi quits Chinese club Tianjin Teda

Mikel Obi has cancelled his contract Chinese club Tianjin Teda, a year before the agreement between club and player was due to run out.

The Super Eagles captain is seeking a return to Europe for family reasons.

Mikel did not travel with the Tianjin Teda first-teamers to Spain for pre-season training as he is said to be negotiating with the club to break his contract.

In an interview with Tianjin TV Sports New Vision program, Mikel said:

“I broke the contract with the club, which means I will leave Teda. As for my next stop, I am not sure yet, maybe I will return to Europe, maybe stay in China. Anyway, I would like to wish the TEDA team good luck next season.”

Mikel performed well for Tianjin Teda in the first half of the 2018 season but struggled with injuries in the second half after representing Nigeria at the World Cup.

A spate of injuries limited Mikel’s all round impact with Teda and Nigeria to the barest, with several missed matches against his name owing to a spate of injuries, such that his value was bound to be affected.

As another transfer period sets in across world football, startling data have revealed that any club willing to buy Mikel could get him for as low as €3.5m, which is a far cry from €11m that took him to Tianjin.

Mikel, who Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr is also in doubt of his future with the Nigerian national team, is now searching for a new club as he bids to stay relevant for the team, heading into the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Throughout his stay in China, the central midfielder cum defender featured in 31 Super League matches, scoring 3 goals and had 3 assists.

President Buhari on Friday in Abuja called on Nigerian youths to prepare themselves for political leadership as his generation will eventually quit the scene for the younger ones to takeover.

Receiving the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing led by the Acting National Leader, Kingsley Dozie Lawrence, President Buhari described Nigerian youths as very active and critically important in the Nigerian project.

‘‘Youths are very virile and active. A greater part of the Nigerian population is made up of youths. They must always be a factor at all times. Youths must begin to groom themselves for the leadership of Nigeria. I said this to the leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students yesterday (Thursday) – sooner than later we will leave the stage and you will takeover. You have to equip yourselves properly,’’ he said

President Buhari welcomed the group for appreciating his administration’s effort in providing the much-needed infrastructure across the country and for ensuring that Nigerians celebrated the Yuletide with the availability and price stability of petroleum products.

‘‘I am glad you appreciate government’s efforts. That is why we are here to make a difference in the lives of Nigerians and on infrastructure, We will ensure that the resources of Nigeria work for Nigerians,’’ he said.

On the industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the President expressed the hope that ‘‘good reason will prevail’’ in the on-going talks between the Federal Government and representatives of the union.

Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing hailed the Buhari administration for stabilising the economy, improved security during the Christmas season and sustaining the development of infrastructure, particularly the Second Niger Bridge.

‘‘We, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, are partners-in-progress in the Nigerian Project and will extend hands of partnership to any administration that guarantees the interest and welfare of Ndigbo.

‘‘There’s no gainsaying the fact that President Buhari’s administration has impacted the Igbos in some positive ways, but there are still areas the Igbos need more impacts,’’ he said.

The Youth leader, therefore, appealed to the President to make a categorical statement on the issue of Igbo Presidency in 2023, in addition to initiating a process for the creation of an additional State in the South-East, among others.

Passenger forgets huge sum of money in Keke Napep in Akwa Ibom

An unidentified passenger reportedly forgot a huge sum of money in Keke Napep (Tricycle) in Akwa Ibom, as confirmed by a journalist Harrison Essien.

According to Harrison Essien, efforts are being made to locate the person who forgot the large amount of money in the Keke Napep which he or she boarded at Itam Junction in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during the festive season.

He further disclosed that an honest tricycle rider brought the money, which is now in the custody of the Marketing Directorate of the Akwa Ibom Broadcasting corporation.

Diego Maradona to undergo surgery after doctors detect internal bleeding in his stomach

Football legend, Diego Maradona is reportedly set to undergo surgery in Argentina after suffering from a stomach bleed.

The 58-year old football legend had failed to show up for training at Mexican side Dorados where he is now a coach. It has now emerged that he has been admitted after internal bleeding in his stomach was detected during a routine check up.

Maradona was undergoing routine examinations in his homeland before returning to Mexico, where he is coach of second division side Dorados de Sinaloa, when doctors discovered the problem.

Argentine sports newspaper Ole said he would have an endoscopy at a clinic in Olivos, on the outskirts of the capital Buenos Aires with children Gianna, Janita and Diego Jr at his side.

The severity of his condition was not known and the hospital has made no official statement.

The health scare is the latest for Maradona, who has suffered frequent hospital stays over the years, often due to the extravagant lifestyle that helped make him one of the most admired and iconic footballers of the 20th century. He last fell ill at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where he was filmed passing out in an executive box at the Argentina-Nigeria game.

Maradona was hospitalised in 2004 with severe heart and respiratory problems linked to cocaine use. He later underwent drug rehabilitation in Cuba and Argentina before a stomach-stapling operation in 2005 helped him lose weight.

In 2007 he checked himself into a clinic in Buenos Aires to help him overcome alcohol abuse problems. In recent months he has walked with the aid of crutches due to problems with his knees.
