In new reports, the Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jubril, has just resigned his appointment.

His resignation was announced during the Federal Executive Council meeting held at the State House in Abuja and presided over by President Buhari on Wednesday and a valedictory session was thereafter held in his honour.

Jibrin’s resignation comes few days after he was selected and declared 13th Emir of Nasarawa Town in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State by the Nasarawa Emirate Council.

Until now, Jibrin had been overseeing the ministry of environment since the exit of the former minister, Amina Mohammed. His emergence as the Emir was announced on Thursday by the state commissioner for local governments and chieftaincy affairs, Illiya Osegba, at the government house in Lafia.

He said Governor Tanko Almakura also approved the selection of Jibrin as the new Emir.

Boy kidnapped in Rivers state found in Ebonyi state 2 years later (Photos)

A boy who was kidnapped from his parent’s home in Rivers state two years ago has just been found in Ebonyi state.

Destiny Azubuike was abducted from his home in Oyigbo, Rivers state, on the 19th of December 2016. He was found on the 11th of December, 2018 in Ohaozara Local Government, Ebonyi State, where he had been renamed Samuel by the woman who bought him.

According to Wired Nigeria, the boy, now 5, was abducted by one Mrs Evelyn, an ex-mistress of the boy’s neighbour identified as Dr Oberenwa. Mrs Evelyn sold the boy for N500,000 to Mrs Patricia Chukwu, a widow and staff of Ebonyi State Secondary School Management Board.

The police began trailing Mrs Evelyn after a tip-off. Mrs Evelyn was trailed to her ex-husband, who explained that they had divorced due to his suspicions that she had sold their biological child to a foster parent. However, he offered to assist in helping the police to find her. But he was soon killed while returning from work by unknown assailants who police suspect may be connected to his wife.

Mrs Evelyn later allegedly led a kidnapping gang in Isiala Ngwa South in Abia state. Further investigations led to her arrest at Umuikaa Junction in Isiala Ngwa South. She was then taken to Oyigbo Police Station where the matter was initially reported in 2016.

The suspect was interrogated by the police and she confessed and also implicated some other accomplices who have now been arrested

The popular OAP has just alleged that his ex-wife, Opeyemi, has run out of the country, carrying with her their kids.

Daddy Freeze made the allegation earlier today, 12th December, on his Instagram page. He asserted that the woman does not have the right to go anywhere with his kids without his consent.

The Lagos State PDP governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje on Wednesday took a swipe at the Oba of Lagos Rilwan Akinolu over a statement the monarch made in 2015.

Recall the monarch had mentioned that anyone who went against the ruling party then would be banished into the waters.

‘Jimi is my blood relation, and I told him he can never be Governor in Lagos now and if you [the crowd] do what I want then Lagos will continue to be prosperous for you, if you go against this you will be banished to the water! Finished!” the king said

Jimi however made an attempt to enlighten the people, especially visitors in Lagos and assuring them that they are not hated by the state, but by the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

Google CEO explains why Trump’s pictures appear when you Google the word ‘Idiot’

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai has explained why US president Donald Trump pictures appears when you search the word “Idiot” in Google search.

Republicans allege that Google’s search results are biased and that Democrats who work at Google choose liberal websites over conservative views for prime placement on Google services like Google search.

When you type in “Idiot” in Google search, photos of US president Donald Trump comes up and Republicans in the US Congress grilled Google CEO Sundar Pichai about this.

Several Republicans on the committee, including Rep. Lamar Smith, said there was “political bias baked into” Google’s culture.

Democratic Rep. Zoe Lofgren gave Google CEO a chance to explain and convince them that there’s no conservative bias in Google.

Lofgren said to Pichai:

Manipulation of search results – I think it’s important to talk about how search works. Right now, if you Google the word ‘idiot,’ under images, a picture of Donald Trump comes up. I just did that.

How would that happen? How does search work so that that would occur?

Pichai replied:

We provide search today for – anytime you type in a keyword, we as Google, we have gone out and crawled and stored copies of billions of webpages in our index. We take the keyword and match it against webpages and rank them based on over 200 signals, things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it. And based on that, at any given time, we try to rank and find the best results for that query. Then we evaluate them with external raters to make sure, and they evaluate it to objective guidelines, and that’s how we make sure the process is working.

Lofgren added:

So it’s not some little man sitting behind the curtain figuring out what we’re going to show the user – it’s basically a compilation of what users are generating, and trying to sort through that information.

And Pichai replied:

Last year we served over 3 trillion searches. Just as a fact, every single day, 15% of the searches Google sees, we have never seen them before.

So this is working at scale. We don’t manually intervene on any particular search result.

Anyone caught having sex inside a car in a public place in Lagos is liable to 2 years imprisonment — Edgal Imohimi warns

The Lagos state commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi, has warned that anyone caught having sex inside a car in a public place in the state, stand the risk of being jailed for 2 years.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Chike Oti, CP Imohimi said he had to make this clarification following the recent tweet by ACP Yomi Shogunle who said it isn’t a crime to have sex in a public place. Read here ICYMI

The attention of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal has been drawn to an online publication credited to @POLICENG_PCRRU to the effect that ” Sex in a car in a public place is not a crime in Nigeria provided;
1. Location is not a place of worship
2. Parties are 18yrs+
3. The act is consensual (agreed to by parties)
4. Parties are of opposite sex
If threatened with arrest over above, pls contact @POLICENG_PCRRU”

Sequel to the development, the CP Lagos has been advised by the Director of Public Prosecution of the state Ministry of Justice and the Legal Department of the State Police Command, Panti, Yaba with relevant sections of the law as follows:
Section 134 (a) Criminal Law of Lagos state 2015 prohibits any indecent act in any public place without lawful excuse. The law holds that such person is liable on conviction to 2 years imprisonment.

Section 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2015 provides that any person who commits any act of gross indecency with another person in public commits an offence and liable on conviction to 3 years imprisonment.

It must be noted that section 134 which deals with offences against morality particularly section 134 (a) have it that indecent act in a public place makes both parties engaging in the act liable to imprisonment for 2 years.

In the same vein, section 231 of the Criminal Code Act which is a Federal law and applicable in states other than the northern states where Penal Code is applicable also make Indecent Acts punishable.

Going forward, the authorities of the Lagos State Police Command hereby declares that the assertion that sex in a car in a public place is not a crime in Nigeria is misplaced as the provisions of the Criminal Law of Lagos State prohibits such acts in public even if it is done with consent of the other party

To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal wants Lagosians to be guided by relevant sections of the law against such acts .

“I didn’t intend to kill my wife” – Wife killer, Lekan Shonde begs court to reduce charge to manslaughter

Lekan Shonde, a depot worker in the Apapa area of Lagos State, on Tuesday, urged a Lagos State High Court to reduce his murder charge to manslaughter.

Lekan is standing trial before the court for the alleged murder of his wife, Ronke.

PUNCH Metro had reported that the 51-year-old Lekan allegedly beat his wife to death at their home in the Egbeda-Idimu area of Lagos State on May 5, 2016.

He was alleged to have locked up the corpse and their two children before the incident was discovered by a nanny and later reported to the police.

At Tuesday’s proceedings, Lekan claimed that he did not intend to kill his wife.

Punch reports that , Lekan, through his counsel, Robert Clarke (SAN), in his final written address, told the court that there was no evidence or the intent to commit murder, adding that he acted spontaneously when he heard his wife talking to her alleged lover on the phone about their lovemaking sessions.

Clarke, while adopting his written address, told the court that there were no eyewitnesses during the murder of Ronke.

He stated,

“The issue in this matter is to ascertain if the defendant killed his wife. I did a research and interviewed nine married Nigerians of the same age group with the defendant relating the circumstances of this matter.

“It was only one person who did not agree with the reaction of the defendant, but the others said they would have acted more than him.

There was no use of a dangerous weapon in the death of the deceased and the fact that the two children slept and did not hear any noise means that the incident that caused the death was not characterised by any loud noise.

It was an incident that was not prolonged and this gives credence to the defendant’s claim that it was only one slap that caused the damage.

“The fact that the autopsy report showed undigested food in the deceased’s stomach corroborates the claim by the defendant, who said they shared a meal of moi-moi and pap after they had an argument over the love affair.

My Lord, this goes to show that the couple settled their differences amicably that night as it were; the defendant said he slapped his wife out of a fit of anger, which was an instinctive reaction.”

Also adopting his final written address, the state prosecutor, Y. O. Oshoala, asked the court to convict Lekan for the murder of his wife, Ronke.

He said,

“My Lord should take note that the autopsy report showed old and new trauma wounds to the deceased’s skull, which corroborate a prolonged evidence of abuse.”

Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe Etim who got married to her hubby, Clifford Sule in 2013, earlier this morning shared a post on her Instagram page that centered on people respecting the privacy of women who are battling with infertility or the ones that have chosen not to have children.

This comes about a day after she shared the measures she takes in relieving stress, which includes having an orgasm or two. ICYMI

She wrote on her page,

A woman is a person. A person who can decide what she wants to do with her body or her time.

So, it is extremely ignorant to expect all women to eventually be mothers.

There are many reasons why a woman may not have children.

Infertility is more common than we know and to immediately ask a woman why she doesn’t have a child is extremely insensitive.

There are also women who have chosen to not have children simply because they will not put their bodies through pregnancy. They simply do not want to have kids and this is perfectly okay.

Whatever a woman decides to do – to have babies or to not; or whether they are battling infertility is no one’s business.

Happiness is all that matters. Gratefully, it is absolutely free.

My prayer and hope is that one day we will not judge unfairly unmarried or childless women.

That being said, if children will make you happy, I pray that you have loads of them.
If you do not want or cannot have kids, remember that you can still find joy and do not allow anybody make you feel less.

Enjoy life. Breathe freely and enjoy all the beauty in the world.

For me, love and light are the truth and all I ever want is to live in happiness and pure truth.

Polytechnic Lecturers Begin Nationwide Indefinite Strike Today .

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics has said it is embarking on an indefinite nationwide strike on Wednesday (today).

The ASUP National President, Usman Dutse, confirmed this to our correspondent in an interview on Tuesday, saying the strike would go on because the Federal Government had failed to implement the 2009 and 2017 agreements it reached with the union.

Dutse said the contentious areas which necessitated the strike included the non-implementation of the NEEDS assessment report of 2014, non-payment of salaries in many state-owned polytechnics, pension deductions and other statutory deductions from staff salaries.

Our correspondent learnt that the ASUP held its 93rd National Executive Council meeting at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State, on November 29, where it was first decided that the strike would begin on December 12.

The ASUP president told our correspondent that the union expected a total compliance in all public polytechnics on the strike, beginning from Wednesday.

Dutse said ;

“The strike is starting on Wednesday and there is no going back. We expect total compliance in all our polytechnics. December 17 has been fixed for a meeting between the Federal Government’s team and us. The government gave us that date and when we get to the meeting, we will see what is on the table.”

Two men were nabbed with the body of a woman they had just murdered for ritual purposes and they revealed how they met her.

The men, who were nabbed just as they were calling an Alhaji to inform him that they had body parts for sale, were stripped and tied by an angry mob after they were caught in Aba over the weekend.

When being questioned, one of the men, identified as Emeka said:

I’m from Ebonyi state. From Ukawu in Ebonyi state.

He denied knowledge of the murder and insisted it was the other suspect, identified by his nickname Million, that was responsible for the woman’s death.

Asked how they killed the woman, Million confessed:

We chatted her up online, through message.

“Is the girl a prostitute,” those present asked Million and he replied:

Yes, a prostitute. For Twenty five thousand.

Emeka can be heard in the background denying his involvement in the murder and saying:

Million, you won’t tell these people that I didn’t join you people in killing this person.

When asked how the woman was killed, Million said:

Na this boy (Emeka) use rope tie am.

The woman’s body can be seen on the ground, with a lot of blood on the floor, close to her head. Her bag was also recovered from the scene.

At this point, a man in the crowd can be heard saying:

This is what they’ve been doing; kidnapping girls, closing their accounts.

This is what they’re doing. When they get the girl, they’ll close the girl’s account, beat the girl, kill the girl, and do all sorts of nonsense.

Dayo Amusa reveals why it is important to live fake lifestyle as Actors

Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa has offered a piece of advice to actors on why they must live large but fake lifestyle on social media.

The actress, who doubles as a singer, told PUNCH in a recent interview that there was really nothing wrong with it if some actors chose to live fake lives, while describing their business as make-believe.

“You have to brand yourself and make people see that you can promote their products well through the lifestyle you depict. If that is what people mean by fake life then it is fine. As an artiste, we live in a make-believe world which means that 80 per cent of the things you see us do on screen and even on social media are make-believe.

“It is totally different from my personality. I might be at home and choose to tie a piece of cloth round my waist and drink garri. But if I would go on social media, I would not want to do that because some of my fans would be disappointed.

I am not advising young women to pretend to be who they are not. What I am saying is that as an artiste, we need to ‘show’ for the business to grow. I am a very realistic person and I do not see myself as one of those fake ones.”

Nigerian Police arrest woman who ordered her thugs to brutalize gateman for demanding for his salary

The lady who ordered thugs to beat up her staff over salary, has finally been arrested by the Nigerian Police and will soon be charged to court.

Recall a Facebook user last month reported that a gate man simply identified as John, was allegedly beaten up by some thugs hired by his boss, who was angered by his salary request.

According to activist Gwamnisu, the founder of Behind Bars Rights Defenders, John had been working for his Madam without pay, but on that fateful day, requested for his salary, only for the woman to unleash her thugs on him.

He was allegedly locked up inside the toilet and brutalized. The case was, subsequently, reported to the police and after many weeks, the boss has been arrested and will soon be charged to court.
