Not too long ago, the 38 year old admitted that in life, one can never get everything one wants in life – she said this after being called out on many occasions for succumbing to fate and joining the league of unmarried mothers popularly known as “Baby mamas”.
The World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, has admitted that the financial institution’s advice to Nigeria caused problems in health, education sectors.
The World Bank says it “has to take some responsibility” for advising Nigeria and other African countries to invest more in roads, railways and energy rather than in education and health.
The World Bank President, Mr. Jim Yong Kim, made this known while briefing the media after the launch of the 2018 Human Capital Index, which ranked Nigeria 152nd out of 157 countries believed to be committed to investing in human capital.
Kim briefed the media on Thursday at the ongoing International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
“We provide quite a bit of support for Nigeria in terms of health budget. But we feel that the overall spending on health is just far too low, 0.76 per cent of GDP.
“Also, the educational outcomes in Nigeria are very very poor.
“Nigeria is one of the most important countries not only in Africa, but in the world and so we feel that it will be extremely important for Nigeria to really go on a different level altogether in terms of their commitment to investing in human capital.
“I think that the World Bank has to take some responsibility for having emphasised hard on infrastructure, roads, rails, energy for a very long time and I think that changed 20 years ago.
“But there is still then the bias that says we will invest in hard infrastructure and then when we grow rich, we will have enough money to invest in health and education.
“We are now saying that that’s really the wrong approach, that you’ve got to start investing in your people right now.”
HCI seeks to raise awareness and increase demand for interventions to build human capital and accelerate better and more investments in people.
Kim said that through the International Development Association, the World Bank had, since 2015 increased funding for Nigeria and other African countries towards alleviating poverty.
The message here is that Heads of State and Ministers of Finance have to take responsibility.
“What has happened is in many African countries, if they don’t receive grant-based financing, they just simply don’t spend on health and education.
“So we hope that this is a loud wake-up call for leaders throughout the African continent and especially in Nigeria.”
According to the human capital index, children born in Nigeria stand the chance of being 34 per cent as productive when they grow up as they will be if they enjoy complete education and full health.
Children in Nigeria can expect to complete 8.2 years of pre- primary, primary and secondary school by age 18.
However, when years of schooling are adjusted for quality of learning, this is only equivalent to 4.2 years, showing a learning gap of 4 years.
The World Bank report on adult survival rate across Nigeria showed that only 65 per cent of 15-year-olds would survive until 60 years of age.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 2018 Annual Meetings of the IMF and WBG brings together experts to discuss issues of global concern, including the World Economic Outlook, poverty eradication, economic development and aid effectiveness.
A Nigerian Lady has shared a story of a Taxify driver who was allegedly beaten by one of his riders and her staff.
The story was shared by @uyai__, and it’s a sad one.
She wrote: “I met this taxify guy on Monday this week. Amazing guy with very good energy. We had great conversations. He messaged me today to tell me about how a rider ordered her estate security to beat him up. This chat made me so sad ??”
The presidency has reacted to the recent endorsement of Atiku Abubakar’s presidential bid by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
In a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the presidency says it would not be distracted by the move.
Read full statement below,
The Presidency has received the news of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s predictable U-turn and somersault on the endorsement of the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at a meeting Thursday, and to say that we are the least surprised by the well-rehearsed theatre.
They will lose together. Listening to the prepared statement of the former President after the meeting showed the usual ego trip and “I know it all”character of Chief Obasanjo.
In the first place, we dare to say that a pompous statement from the former President advising Nigerians on a vote against President Buhari is the best recommendation that can come at this time.
It also betrayed a lack of understanding of today’s politics which is about good governance.
The country voted for change in 2015 and a leader that ensures good governance which only President Buhari and the APC can provide.
Bent on these laudable goals, we will not allow ourselves to be distracted.
We are busy on various national issues including the restructuring and the diversification of the economy, fighting corruption, terrorism and other threats to national security; increasing the availability of electric power, improving education, health, and providing long-delayed infrastructure – roads, rail, airports and so forth.
Many governments have come and gone, but they did not care about some of these projects.
We were talking about these things for sixteen years under the PDP and nothing was done.
President Buhari is proud of his record because his achievements are verifiable, while that of the PDP is manifested by the devastating social and economic impact of large scale corruption during their governance.
The President will not relent in the war against corruption because the ordinary people are the ultimate victims if we surrender to corruption and let its perpetrators go unpunished.
Abandoning the war against corruption is not an option. President Buhari is in this battle against graft because he cannot allow a few, rapacious, and selfish class of the elite to divert the resources meant for the well-being of the ordinary people to their private pockets.
Nigerians trust President Buhari in this effort because they are convinced he is not in government for personal financial benefits, or for an ego trip. It is just eleven years ago that the former President and Vice President in their ugly fight for power accused each other of corruption. Nigerians are yet to forget all that.
Yung6ix says he is presently the only rapper in the country and that no other artiste is doing rap music.
Real name Onome Onokohwomo, the artiste said 50 Cent, Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West are the foreign rappers that inspire him.
Yung6ix said “it’s a fact” that there is no rap artiste like him in Nigeria.
“I am the only rapper in the country right now,” he said during a show on Hip TV.
“I can’t see anybody doing modern day rap music apart from myself. It’s just the truth. It’s just the fact. They don’t do it like I do it.”
The rapper said being a native of the south-south region of Nigeria has been the most challenging thing for him in his career.
“Coming from south-south Nigeria has been the most challenging stuff because when people want to do anything, they keep the south-south out of it,” he said.
“When they want to give awards, they keep us out of it. First of all, which other rapper from south-south has been doing this for the past ten years?
“I had a chance because I came into the industry under the right record label.”
Young6ix, who released his first single in 2011, also commented on the rise and growing influence of the Afrobeats genre.
He said: “When we started, the industry was not on this level. We are past the point where Afrobeats is so big. We are about to conquer the world.”
When asked about his relationship status, the rapper said it “depends on my location”, adding that “sometimes, I wake up single, sometimes I don’t”.
He added: “Music is a selfish career, very, very selfish.”
3 young Ghanaian slay queens from Ghana have few words for ladies who ransack their boyfriend’s phone.
The girls, who shouldn’t be more than 19, without shame, asked other girls to stop blocking them (side chicks) from their boyfriends phone.. after all he wasn’t created just to date just one person.
One of the girls asked if their (referring to the main chicks) names were written on the manhood of their boyfriend when they were born to suggest that, they were born to only f**ck them.
They spoke in their Ghanaian language, but the translation reads:
“Those of you ladies who have been blocking us on the phones of your boyfriends, if we may ask, when his mother gave birth to him, did she write your name on his p*nis, or did they say, his p*nis was made just for only you to f*ck? Sharing is caring, allow us to also chop your boyfriends some”

A Nigerian beauty therapist who sexually assaulted a woman who he was treating, has been jailed in the U.K
Ayoyinka Oladimeji, 29, of Talia House, E14, was sentenced to three years in jail and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order at Inner London Crown Court, today, Thursday, 11 October, 2018.
The Sexual Harm Prevention order will prevent Oladimeji from performing or being present in treatment rooms while treatments are being performed.
He had been found guilty of sexual assault by penetration, following a trial at the same court on 6 September. The court heard how Oladimeji worked as a beauty therapist at a clinic in Peckham.
On 12 October 2017, a woman aged in her 20s attended the clinic for a treatment. During this treatment while she lay on the treatment table, Oladimeji sexually assaulted her. She kicked out at him and left the clinic.
Oladimeji then called her and apologised for his behaviour – the woman recorded this call and reported the matter to police.
Oladimeji was arrested on 14, October and denied the allegation; during further interview after being played the recording of his phone call to the woman, he refused to answer any questions.
Detective Sergeant Robert Jamieson of the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command led the investigation – he said: “Oladimeji took advantage of his professional position to abuse a client when she was in a vulnerable position.
He then tried to deny the attack, even when faced with his own admission that had been recorded without his knowledge. I would like thank the victim and acknowledge her courage throughout this investigation and hope that this sentence can bring her some form of closure.”

Their Initial report reads;
The much-celebrated relationship of David ‘Davido’ Adeleke and Chioma Avril Rowland is in troubled waters, TheCable Lifestyle understands.
The lovers are said to be having incessant disagreements over alleged infidelity on the part of the superstar.
“Chioma has been complaining and they are having problems,” according to an insider in the loop of things.
TheCable Lifestyle understands that their disagreement recently reached a head when Chioma confronted the singer over allegations of impregnating yet another woman.
Before their relationship entered a rough patch, the pair was inseparable, often sharing pictures of their trips around the world.
Chioma was also known for accompanying Davido on his foreign performance engagements.
In reaction, Davido has threatened Legal action against the Media company who broke the news. Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote:
President Donald Trump hosted Kanye West and former football player and NHL Hall of Famer Jim Brown at the White House today, October 11, 2018, in Washington, DC.
Kanye West, a recording artist and a prominent Trump supporter, was at the White House to have lunch with the president and to meet with presidential son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner who has spearheaded the administration’s efforts to overhaul the criminal justice system.
Former BBNaija star, Leo Babarinde Dasilva has said he regrets alienating his late dad, Sir Leo Babarinde Dasilva Snr, during his last months alive.
Leo Dasilva lost his dad in the year 2015, and he took to social media today to remember him. He wrote;
I always avoided speaking about my father while growing up. This wasn’t because I didn’t know who he was, in fact he never hesitated to tell me exactly who I am and who he was each and every time. One major reason I avoided it was because who he was didn’t match my reality and kids would label me a liar. My reality was never what he told me or my name, my reality at the time was my struggling single mother who gave me more than she had to make me a great man.
My father taught me two important things in life on this day
1. Do not trust or rely on anyone asides yourself.
2. Don’t ever get carried away or plan your life around promises from people. One of my greatest regrets is still alienating him during his last months alive. But it won’t have been the first time. We had loads of arguments from 2009 – 2015 because I became too aware too quick. I believed all the family I needed was my mother so my dad and I could go an entire year without speaking.
I will give him credit for one thing which was I still believe was a huge gamble, telling me to start making my own money at 16 while I was living in another man’s country. Without him cutting me off, I would not have become a serial entrepreneur.
Long and short of this, I loved my Father very much and people close to him would know he loved me just as much. We had our differences but it was mostly because we were the same people. Continue to rest in peace Sir Leo Babarinde Dasilva Snr(1949-2015).
Surgery addict, Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves was recently arrested and handcuffed for failing to provide police with a valid passport in Germany.
The 35-year-old who was in Germany to film for a TV show for the PRO7 German TV network was arrested for carrying his old expired passport and taken to the station in handcuffs.
He was later released after a scan of his new passport was brought to the station.
Speaking after his arrest, he told MailOnline:
‘I was filming for a TV show for the PRO7 German TV network and during filming, the crew were stopped by police who asked to check our ID’s.
‘They wanted to know that we had permission from the local consul in Berlin to film in the streets.
All the paperwork for filming was fine, but I was arrested because I was accidentally carrying my old expired passport and not my new one.
‘It was not possible for the police to Face ID me because I now look so different to the photo. Someone had to bring a scan of my new passport for me to be released.’
Lil Kesh‘s former manager, Wale Applause, has just released a ‘tell all’ article where he revealed shocking details of how artist managers suffer and how Olamide sacked him for going on a twitter rant.
In his words, ‘talent management entails giving up your life for someone else. For the first time, let me say this, I gave over 2 years of my life to Lil Kesh, God used me and Olamide to make him a star’.
Why Olamide sacked me;
‘Here is the reason why i got sacked the first time. I cannot be very specific about the time, but it was when Shoki and Dorobucci were blowing at the same time. My sources said to me that Don Jazzy had gone to lobby the MTV base award for Dorobucci and Reekado Banks was going to come on stage to get the award. I was told that what that translated to was that Reekado Banks was going to win Next Rated at the Headies. I had worked so hard than to make that happen.
Now we had Shoki, Gbese, Efejoku. I tried my best but i was just one person. Alas Dorobucci won the award and just as told, Reekado banks was on stage to get it. I went bonkers. Abfresh who was to later manage Lil Kesh just got back from Uk at the time and was staying at my place. I was so sad, i went on twitter and rant. I did rant and mention Don Jazzy well.
Then i called Olamide’s attention to my tweets, told him i was sorry it was just a moment of madness, i had rights to be angry. I got a shocker the next day when Olamide told me i wouldn’t manage Lil Kesh again because of a twitter rant from someone like me, only for him to go on the stage at the headies to declare Lil Kesh Winner himself. I am sure we all remember how that went.
I remember watching the Headies in my father’s house in Ibadan as i was jobless, i cried when Lil Kesh wasn’t given the Award, i wanted him to win it for me. I thought my night was bad enough, not until Olamide came on stage to rant and i started wailing.
My parents could not console me. I was wailing because all i did was rant on twitter and i became jobless for several months, Olamide goes on stage to disorganize a well organized award and he is tagged a hero even by himself. This pot of beans life.
He also called out Beat FM OAPs Olisa Adibua and Osi;
As a rookie manager back in the days, Osi was a rookie OAP too, i like to work with people like that because in my head we trying to help each other grow, i thought wrong. Back when Osi used to be the errand boy in Beat fm before the advent of twitter which made him a pseudo celebrity. He was on the midnight show and back then i paid him good money.
I cannot specifically remember the amount, but i am sure it was good money because YES i used to throw money around, ask about me. I would always have to stay awake at midnight to listen in to his show,he would not play my music.
I would call, he picks when he likes then i will beg him to play my music, at least i paid for it. Sometimes he played, but at a time when we both know most human beings are sleeping, i wonder who he was playing for. This was a time Beat Fm was the Alpha and Omega of radio. Another person you do not need in your corner is Olisa of Beat fm, he most likely will charge you in dollars.
In short as an artiste manager, throw Beat Fm and all the OAPs away, you do not need them. Forget what you been told. They never played lil Kesh’s shoki and Oritshefemi’s Double wahala until they became monster hits.
On how musicians doctor Youtube numbers, he said;
Do not be fooled, we all doctor numbers, Youtube, Soundcloud. The way we do it is the difference. While some buy virtual views, some of us buy real view which wouldn’t amount to fans, but we need the numbers, viewers will not watch a video with 18 views.
What we do is advertise the link, it gets published on Asian sites, you know the population in Asia,YES that’s what we all do, forget about the congratulatory artworks about millions of views. Yes they are real views but they do not amount to your fan base, indeed you need the numbers.
Think i am lyinh check www.pushpowerpromo.com. That is where most of your music distributors go, there are others though but this is very effective, cheap, real views and accept Nigerian cards.
You don’t need DJ Spinall;
If you work with him, you would hate yourself. Forget the hype, when you blow, he will come kissing your as$. He is usually like that. only a good person on social media also if and when you are a celebrity/ As an artiste manager and new artiste, avoid Dj Spinall like a plague.
Dj Consequence, Dj Ruud, Dj Debby, Dj Factor, Dj Prince, Dj Spicy there are a few of the uptown djs you need, but you would not go empty handed. Anything less than 100k and you will be wasting your time and money.
You can do 100k and above, you are in good hands. One Uptown Dj that will always stand out for me is Dj Neptune. Look for him, become his friend, make him like you and you good.

Except in the case of examination malpractices, The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examinations for candidates seeking admission into the university has never had students excel without putting their studies in good shape.
JAMB has gradually become more dreaded than any other name or acronym represented in the education sector of Nigeria. And preparing for the examination is something that no student will do without judiciously investing time, commitment, discipline, and hard work.
This means that whatever you do before sitting for JAMB will in turn, determine what JAMB will do to you after the examination.
If you fail JAMB, this means admission for you for that year has been lost. This is because, your Jamb score is a major factor in gaining admission. If you think you will be admitted with connection, change that thought now and start focusing on how to pass JAMB in the coming examinations.
In case you do not know, JAMB now has new method deployed for admitting candidates into the university. Read below:
ADMISSION POLICIES ADOPTED BY JAMB
1. Candidates should Beware of Change of Institution. Prof Oloyede warns.
2. We are introducing a process to ensure that there is no delay in admission of students – Jamb
3. No University is permitted to hold on to a candidate for a long period. Once a candidate cannot be admitted into certain University, such should be released to other Universities.
4. All Universities are henceforth expected to obey and comply with the timeline of the admission with the new system
5. With the new system, it would be no longer possible for candidates to upload a fake O level result as done before now.
6. Candidates should be careful of information submitted while registering. Even your date of birth can cost you a lot when you are to be mobilized for NYSC – Prof Oloyede
7. All Universities have their Quota by Jamb already. We might not be able to release some information now. Meanwhile, Universities can request for more Quota
8. All Universities still have the flexibility to create their cut off marks.
9. Jamb will no longer release any further results. Meanwhile, more stiffer measures are being taken to avoid fraudsters during Jamb. – Prof Oloyede
10. Jamb will keep suggesting qualified candidates to Universities.
Step 1: Know the JAMB score you need for your choices
Know the JAMB score you need for you choices and set a higher target. This is a principle in line with the saying that says “you should shoot for the stars, for you never know, you may land on the moon”. When you set a high and reasonable target, you’ll most likely get something very close to it, if not exactly.
Setting a target above 300 can spur you to action. Once you have done this, then it is time to distribute it to your four subjects according to your strengths.
An Example is:
My target score for JAMB: 315
Use of English: 75
Mathematics: 80
Physics: 85
Chemistry: 75
2. Set your timetable and follow it squarely
Make for yourself a scheme of study or a reading pattern. Your time-table will help you to remain consistent with reading. Make sure you don’t miss your daily reading pattern. This is a great technique to prepare for Jamb 2019 and pass.
Here are three steps to help create a study plan:
i. Create a time chart of your current activities – Creating a time chart allows you to see how you spend your time day-in-day-out. Take notes of your daily activities. Take notes of your waking time, sleeping, regular chores, work, leisure and how much time you spend in school daily.
After doing this, check for free time available for studying and it should be up to at least three hours especially as JAMB is fast approaching. If you do not have that much time left for studying, then, re-organize your daily activities and create more time for studying.
ii. Develop a schedule and reading time table
Do you know the subjects that will require more time to study? What if they are your weak points? Your schedule and reading time table will highly depend on the amount of time you have left. You will need about 5 hours of daily study if your examination is being prepared for within 3 months
iii. Stick to your study plan
A study plan works best if it is followed on a consistent basis. So, stick to your plan. You may also need to deprive yourself of some sleep at night because you can easily regain lost sleep after JAMB.
Lastly, finding a study partner would help a great deal.
3. Read, Read, Read!!!
Reading vigorously is a very important habit you must cultivate to succeed in JAMB examinations.
Infact, reading for JAMB success should have began since your SS 1 or 2! Even if you’d have to do like 30 minutes to an hour study plan everyday. If you do, you will be smiling when others are breaking their heads trying to prepare just few months to the exam.
And if you are months away from the exam, it does not matter much. You still have a great chance; but you must begin now to study with a working plan as I have described in step two. And if just a few weeks left, then what you need to do is to focus a lot on credible past questions can, you still have a good chance too!
4. Work more on your Weakness/es
If there’s any subject you think is difficult for you to understand, you would be on a safer side spending more time on it. With very good focus, your weakness can become your strength. Change your mindset, tell yourself, “I want to know this subject!”.
5. Test yourself periodically
Test yourself periodically. You may do this every week to help in covering certain important topics and in order to prepare you for the actual exams. This part is very crucial in your study.
6. Use exam focus textbooks to study according to the syllabus.
Do not just study, but study using the given syllabus. Every examination has its own focus. There are always things the examiners expect and assume that if you know, then you must know some other things related to it.
Using exam focus textbooks – there are a lot of good ones – study with your results from the research on the patterns they have used in past questions according to their syllabus.
7. Do not neglect your Strengths!
There are high tendencies of neglecting of your most favourable subjects, while focusing on your weaknesses. Don’t!
Your goal should be to bring balance to your study. So, while committing 2 hours a day to your weaknesses, give like an hour to your strengths. This is because, your strengths are the best places to bag cool marks in Jamb.
8. Attend a good UTME coaching
What you read by yourself, when backed by what you learn at a good Jamb lessons around, this is what makes you loaded for the Jamb 2019/2020 examination. You also learn from others when you attend a good UTME coaching class.
9. Seek Timely Help
If there is anything that you do not know or you find confusing about your studies or JAMB 2019, ensure to ask questions from those that have the knowledge. Seeking for help is smart not stupid.
