The incumbent Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, has accepted defeat in his efforts to become APC’s 2019 Lagos governorship candidate.

The All Progressives Congress panel sent to Lagos State to conduct the party’s governorship primary has changed its position on the validity of the primary conducted in the state on Tuesday.
Contrary to its earlier position on Tuesday that the primary did not hold, the NWC panel led by Mr Clement Ebri early Wednesday morning said the primary held.
It went on to declare Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the primary with 970,851 votes ahead of incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who recorded 72,901 votes.
The state chairman of the APC, Mr Tunde Balogun, had at about 9pm on Tuesday declared the same results, despite the insistence of the Ebri-led panel that the primary never held.
Balogun insisted that the poll held and it was valid, contending that it would be unfair to disenfranchise about 1.5 million party members who participated in the poll.
Changing its position to align with Balogun on Wednesday morning, the Ebri panel, in a press statement, said, “After resolving some of the hiccups, the Lagos State APC Governorship Primary Committee collated the results from the 245 wards in the 20 local government areas from the collating officers.
“At the end of the exercise, these are the votes scored by the aspirants: 1. Gov Akinwunmi Ambode, 72,901 votes. 2. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, 970,851 votes.
“Following these results, I, Clement Ebri, the Chairman of the Lagos State APC Governorship Primary Committee hereby declare Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner.”

A young lady was videod jumping out of a window from a building, after the “real owner of the house came back”.
The video which was posted online three days ago and has gone viral since then. The video shows the moment the unidentified lady was aided by a man as she jumped from the window.

Chairman of the All Progressive Congress party, Lagos Chapter, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as winner of Tuesday’s APC governorship primary.
According to him, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode scored 72,901 votes while Jide Sanwo-Olu got 970,851 thereby making him the winner of the APC primaries which he described as ‘free and fair’.

At least 23 cows have reportedly been killed in Ekiti State following the deafening thunder which was accompanied by a downpour recorded in parts of the state in the last couple of days.
The incident, which took place at Okeowa Eluju, a farmstead in Iloro-Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area of the state, has caused apprehension among local residents.
Confirming the incident, a Fulani herder and owner of the dead cows, Abdulkadri Kadiri, said he was devastated by the development.
According to NAN, Kadiri described the incident as a strange occurrence.
“I went to farm after about six hours heavy downpour on Monday morning, only to discover that 23 of my cows had died. After careful observation, I found that there was no trace of bodily injuries on the dead cows. I want to believe it is an act of God since I did not offend or quarrel with anyone,” he said.
Kadiri, however, said he had not experienced such incident in his 35 years of business – the Regent of the community, Joseph Alofe, who also confirmed the incident, described the victim as a gentle and peace loving herder.
The community leader, who also described the incident as strange to the village, called on government and well-meaning individuals to assist the herder, to revive his business.
