A middle-aged man, Ibrahim Usman, who operates a telephone charging outfit in Lafia, says he makes N180,000 monthly on charging people’s phones with a generator and solar power.
“I took advantage of the irregular electricity supply in Lafia to make about N180,000 monthly,” Mr Usman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Saturday.
According to him, charging of phones and other electrical accessories has put food on his table and money in his bank account.
“Although, I am not happy that there is irregular electricity supply in Lafia, I can say that has been to my advantage now.
“Had power supply been stable, I would not have been able to make the N6,000 I make at least in a day. If you multiply it into 30 days, it is N180, 000 in a month,” he said.
He told NAN that he powers his business by solar energy to augment his petrol-powered generator, on which he spends N1,000 daily on fuel.
Mr Usman appreciated his customers, and advised the youth not to always wait on the government for jobs.
“Instead, youths can create something worthwhile for themselves. It is always good to have something to fall back on in the absence of the white-collar jobs.
“You can learn one or two skills to enable you survive and live independently,” he added.

Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba has in a new interview, said Nigerians should stop celebrating criminals.
The legendary singer who spoke to Showtime in a chat, advised the youths to stop celebrating criminally-minded politicians who are only out to loot public funds.
He said;
“My advice to the youths is that we should begin to celebrate what is right.
We should stop celebrating criminals; we should stop hyping people that have done nothing to benefit us.
Imagine, someone wakes one morning and suddenly becomes a Senator with a lot of money; people will begin to celebrate him/her even when he has done nothing for his people. When you campaign for votes and you finally win, you’ve to have something to show for those votes. So, we need to begin to celebrate people who are genuine and not criminals.”
2face Idibia also said he is hopeful that Nigerians would not be deceived by political antics again, he wished for peaceful, credible elections.
He said;
“I hope so, because that would depend on the electorate.
I’m hoping that Nigerians will understand that politicians should not use them again; I’m hoping that they would understand that these people will tell their usual stories, but we also should tell our own story this time around.”
The “African queen” crooner also advised the government to improve on communication with the masses, saying when people don’t know what is happening, they tend to talk and they tend to argue.
“My advice is that they should speak to the people more, they should let us know what’s happening. When people don’t know what’s happening they tend to talk, they tend to argue.
When we hear something in the news tomorrow we don’t even know if it’s the truth or a lie because the government doesn’t even talk to us; we don’t even know what’s going on.
And that is a major issue; they should let the people know what’s going on, so, that the people can participate and be actively involved in the governance of the nation. The government should carry the people along>”

Nigerian Comedian and actor, Seyi Law has called out a man, identified as Olufunmilade Adeyemi arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud.
Seyi Law, quoting a tweet by the anti-graft agency announcing the arrest, asked if he could bring his case to commission.
“He is the son of a Pastor in the church, I attended growing up. He defrauded me too. @officialEFCC can I bring my case too? Thanks. His father once asked me, who is your father in this church because I begged for N1000 to complete my Jamb form fee and his son defrauded year later,” Seyi Law said.
EFCC’s Lagos Zonal office arrested Olufunmilade Adeyemi, the Managing Director of Stealth Communication Limited on Friday.
According to EFCC:
The suspect, who once presented himself as Alexandra Moses, had previously been arrested in Ghana with the assistance of the Ghanaian authorities and brought back to Nigeria for prosecution, following a complaint against his alleged criminal activities.
Adeyemi was subsequently arraigned before Justice O. A. Williams of the State High Court, Ikeja, Lagos, for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretence and diversion of funds. He pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him and was granted bail.
Meanwhile, even as he is still facing trial before, the suspect, who now claims to be Aladura Moses, was said to have floated another company under a different name.
He was alleged to have been recruiting unsuspecting job seekers whom he uses to sell non-existent lands to members of the public, since he started the new company located in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.
The suspect was, however, arrested in a sting operation by operatives of the EFCC.
He will soon be charged to court when investigations are concluded.
Nollywood actress, Ebube Nwagbo has stated that even though she wishes to walk down the aisle soon, she won’t rush into marriage just to please people.
Ebube Nwagbo who maintained that her upbringing and fear of God has helped her maintain a controversy-free life in an interview with Saturday Beats, added that venturing into business and reading several insightful books had not only helped her become a better woman but also a focused professional.
On managing marriage pressures, she said,
“The pressure of marriage comes but I am happy for the type of parents and family members I have. They all understand that marriage is not a decision I have to make in a hurry.”
“I try to let everybody know that deciding who to marry has to be done right and at the appropriate time as well. I have learnt to deal with this pressure by not allowing whatever people say to bother me. As a person, I try to be the best that I can.”
“I come from a very strict Christian background. My parents always tell me never to forget where I am coming from and I never forget that. The training they gave me has helped in shaping the woman I am today. Being a star comes with a lot of pains. There are people in the society who want to control your life and make you live in a certain way.”
“But the truth is that you can’t please everyone. Sometimes you have to be yourself and this could be misunderstood. It’s a price we have to pay for being in the limelight.”
Rosy Meurer, the actress who is alleged to have had a hand in the marriage breakup between Tonto Dikeh and Churchill Olakunle, has warned against believing a certain rumor floating around.
According to the rumor, the actress is planning on getting married to Churchill Olakunle.
Reacting to the rumor, Rosy Meurer told Sunday Scoop, “Dr. Olakunle and I share a very sincere cordial relationship, and therefore, the strokes of baseless accusations are imperatively unnecessary.
“Nowadays, hate speech has become the regular ice that we may have to chew when we seek to gain liberation from thirst. I would categorically tell you that I admire their ignorant conception of falsity. I believe in silence as a key to the mansion of focus, regardless of the resolution of critics. I am an ambassador of Big Church Foundation, and I would do nothing to jeopardise the happiness of the President of the foundation; he is indeed a noble man. I truly feel what he goes through because the singular reason is to drag his name through the mud with fabricated stories against his foundation and his company. The falsehood affects everyone close to him including his mum who he was accused of touching inappropriately. All these are frame ups geared towards tarnishing his image and his career. I know well about the family and no one can deny that they don’t know me.”
Asked to name something about Churchill that the rest of the world doesn’t know, Rosey said, “He is someone who possesses a burning passion and interest in human development and global advancement. He reaches for nothing less than the best. One very spectacular thing about him is that, Churchill is soft-hearted; he would barely hurt even an ant. He is really a good man.”

Just when we thought the issue of “Rape” has been clarified, A lady on Twitter – @iamsashakae has also aired her own opinion on the use of condom in relation to rape.
This beautiful lady has in a series of Tweets shared that removing the condom without the knowledge and consent of your partner is rape.
According to her, this changes the context of the sex both of them consented to.
She wrote;
if you remove the condom without the knowledge AND consent of your partner and you continue to have intercourse you have indeed committed rape. removing the condom changes the context of the sex they consented to. they did not consent to raw sex. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
you’re not only exposing them to any sti you may/may not knowing/unknowingly have. you’ve now forced them, more than likely a woman, to take EXTRA precautions. those include:
-plan B. which reacts to every woman differently and can have terrible side effects.
-unnecessary stress due to the fact that she didn’t trust you enough to have unprotected sex so now she has to make a doctor’s visit to be sure she hasn’t contracted anything from you.
-PREGNANCY and some women can’t carry children and can’t get abortions. it’s a thing.
and before you all say “that’s why you should be on birth control” not every woman can operate on birth control. it can sometimes cause a woman to become very ill. just wrap it bitch.
I want to add that I personally believe this is so hard for men to grasp because they are afraid of coming to terms with the fact that they may have violated a woman. however, society has only recently been pushing the importance of consent in every manner.
so things like coercion, deception, fucking a drunk girl because she drunkenly said yes.. earlier on you probably didn’t know those things were sexual assault because society did not teach us that. but NOW there is no excuse for you all. both genders. the information is there.
popping in again. we can keep this same energy for poking holes in condoms and lying about bc but I’d like to add that by being on birth control a woman is only saving herself from getting pregnant. not preventing STIs and might still become pregnant even on bc. so.. there’s that

The Nigerian community in South Africa has been given the cause to mourn after two of their members were shot dead by unknown gunmen recently.
A statement by the President of the Nigerian Union in South Africa (NUSA), Adetola Olubajo gave the names of the deceased Nigerians as Mr Okechukwu Chukwumezeriri and Mr Olushola Ayanleye.
Olubajo said that Chukwumezeriri, 39, from Imo was shot dead on a football field on August 25th at Rietondale Park in Pretoria while Ayanleye, 42, from Ondo State was shot dead in the night of August 26th at Essellen Street, Sunnyside in Pretoria.
“Information gathered revealed that last weekend’s violence which claimed two lives with another two hospitalised in Pretoria were gang-related killings. As the umbrella organisation of Nigerians in South Africa, our stand is that whoever that kills should face the full wrath of the law, irrespective of his or her nationality.”
He said the Nigerian association was currently cooperating with law enforcement agencies in South Africa to tackle the criminal elements.
“We advise that whoever has information about these killers should kindly contact the president of NUSA or the police as these senseless and trigger happy fellows should not go unpunished.”
The latest deaths have increased the death toll of Nigerians in South to 122 in 30 months.
A 26-year-old suspected Internet fraudster, Jide Ajayi, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly abducting a 14-year-old pupil, identified only as Miracle.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect met the victim on a social media platform, Facebook, from where they exchanged telephone numbers.
The suspect was alleged to have gone to Miracle’s parent’s house on Thursday, August 23, from where he took away the Senior Secondary School one pupil.
After five days together, operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team were reported to have swooped on him at his hideout on Gbeleyi Street, Idimu.
The victim told our correspondent that she could not explain how she got to the area, alleging that Ajayi cast a spell on her.
She also claimed that throughout the five days that she was with him, he did not sexually molest her.
She said,
“We became friends on Facebook last year. He was always disturbing me. At a point, I decided to block him because he asked me out. However, on July 17, 2018, after a party in my school, he started chatting with me again. During one of our chats, he asked if I was a virgin and I answered yes.
“I don’t know how he got to my street that night. He called and said he was on our street. I told him that I just returned from a journey and I could not go outside. He said there was no problem and he would leave.
“I went to buy something outside when I saw him. He initially pleaded with me to follow him, but I refused. He then touched me on the shoulders. I lost my senses and obeyed him.
“He took me to his friend’s place in the Pipeline area of Idimu. He held a meeting with the friend called Michael. There was a second friend, Gbenga, with them that night. He told them that I would pass the night with them.
“The room was dark. I was there for about five days. During the period, he locked me in and only brought food to me. I told him that I wanted to go home, but he said I could not find my way home without him.”
The teenager said by Sunday, Michael asked Ajayi to take her away from the house because his girlfriend would be visiting.
The 26-year-old was alleged to have insisted on her staying, as he reportedly made plans to relocate her to another friend’s house.
“When his friend was going to work on Monday, he told us that we had till 3pm to leave his apartment. That was when he (Ajayi) said he was taking me to another friend’s place, but I refused. Some minutes later, the police came and rescued me,” she added.
Miracle said the suspect did not sleep with her, adding that they were not in a relationship before they met.
Asked the kind of work Ajayi did for a living, Miracle said she believed that he was into Internet scam.
“From Thursday night to Monday afternoon that I was there, he did not touch me and none of his friends did.
“He told me that he works with a company at Apapa. But I believe he is into yahoo yahoo (Internet scam). He never allowed me to touch his phone. But there was a night he was asleep and he forgot to lock the phone. I picked it and open his Hangout application. I saw him chatting with a man and claiming to be a girl.
“From this incident, I have learnt not to go out at night again. I have also stopped using a phone and removed myself from the social media,” she added.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Miracle’s father died when she was barely four years old and her mother, Foluke, had had to cater to her and her two siblings alone.
The mother of three said she believed Ajayi planned to do something evil with her daughter.
She said,
“On that Thursday night, I was with my daughter in the house when her younger sister came to say she went to buy chin-chin outside and did not return. More than 24 hours after searching for her, we reported at Idimu and IRT’s office.
“The police said they tracked how he started calling the girl that morning. She switched off her phone and when she turned it on at night, he was the first person to call her and that was how he abducted her.
“I believe he had a mission. His family members have been begging for forgiveness, but I have referred them to the police. It is not possible for him to have kept the girl for five days without touching her, but that was what happened. So, he had a plan. Whenever he wanted to urinate, he locked her up in the room. I want the police to get to the root of the matter. From what I learnt, his calls after he took the girl had been to Kaduna and Kano states. I want to know his mission.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said investigation was ongoing.
He said, “The girl was declared missing and the case was investigated by the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, which rescued her. The suspect is still under investigation to unravel the motive for the abduction. The boy has denied sleeping with the girl; we are looking at a suspected case of trafficking. Investigation is ongoing.”
Nigerian Filmmaker, Ifeoma Chukwuogo has taken to micro-blogging website, Twitter to narrate how DJ Cuppy jumped queue at the INEC Centre where she had gone to collect her permanent voter’s card.
She also called out the Billionaire’s daughter, saying she is “Tone-Deaf” and added that she had waited for `over four hours to be attended to when DJ Cuppy walked in and jumped the queue.
This clearly annoyed her as she went to Twitter to narrate the event.
She wrote;
RE this Cuppy thing..truth is, highly privileged people are rarely concerned with life outside their bubble.
Y/day I stood for 4.5 hrs trying to get my PVC, got there at 7, left at 11.30. Cuppy strolled in at 10.30 with her entourage and mopol, walked past all of us on the queue and went straight into the thumbprint and registration room.
I was standing right outside the door just about to go in when this happened. Now, many of us were VERY frustrated at the whole registration affair.
A man beside me just about to go in had been there since 4am or so. Of course, folks were muttering under their breaths about the unfairness. She’s not a diplomat/politician, she’s just wealthy.
If you don’t want to join us like cattle standing for hrs getting harassed by officials, arrange for a private registration at a location of your choice. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Companies and residential estate arrange for INEC officials to come register their staff/residents for convenience sake. But I’m guessing there was the PR aspect of it too because her handlers photographed it. No crime in that. She’s an influencer.
What made me realize how tone-deaf she might be was how despite the obvious frustration from people’s facial expressions, and me actually loudly telling an INEC official in her presence that it was unfair to do that at our expense as we all have places to be as well is that she was smiling and chuckling through it all.
I was looking straight at her as I was saying these things, not even in a combative manner, more in a “she/you guys should be doing better, leading by example” type stuff.
It was interesting (and annoying) to watch.
They got her sorted and she left.
I don’t expect this sort of person to be aware of stuff outside of their bubble, that’s why I’m not surprised about this interview brouhaha She’s not a terrible person, I actually enjoy her public personality on occasion.
One Princess Ife on May 16 claimed that an operative of the Federal Special Anti-Robery Squad (FSARS), Inspector Charles Omotosho, threatened to shoot at them, except they paid a ‘ransom’ of N5000.
She wrote;
“With my encounter today, it is safe to say SARS are armed robbers. Was going for a shoot in Ikorodu today and armed member of SARS pulled us over and made us pay for no reason. .
Threatening they were going to waste our lives. I made a transfer so that they can be traced.”
Well, three months after the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU) of the Police Force promised to investigate the issue and make findings of the investigation public, the SARS officer has been handed his sack letter.
Announcing the dismissal of Omotosho following the police’s investigations, the PCRRU tweeted;
“UPDATE #PCRRU316356. The Assistant-Inspector General of Police Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Ibrahim Adamu has reviewed the Orderly Room proceedings and approved the punishment of dismissal of AP. No. 136207 Inspr. Charles Olusola Omotosho from @PoliceNG wef 16.07.2018.
Omotosho attached to SARS Ikorodu, Lagos at the time was found guilty of Corrupt Practices and Discreditable Conduct contrary to Para. C (ii) and E (iii) of Police Act and Regulations CAP. P19 LFN 2004.
Three other accomplices of the dismissed Inspector were awarded punishment of reduction in rank from Sergeant to Corporal by the AIG. All @PoliceNG items (uniforms & ID card) have since been retrieved from the dismissed Inspector.”
A Nigerian lady has shared her really devastating story of how she was raped by a group of cultists in her first year in the Rivers State University.
According to her, when she reached out to her mother that she was raped, it was no good as her mother accused her of being the cause of her predicament.
The ordeal brought out the worse in her as she turned into a sex and alcohol addict but thankfully, she was salvaged by a good Samaritan who has been watching over her for some time now.
