32-year old Sergio Ramos popped the question while on holiday with his 40-year old girlfriend of six years who accepted the proposal which he made at a romantic dinner on Monday evening.
Ramos shared the news on Instagram with two pictures of himself accompanied by his bride-to-be and her new huge ring.
The images were captioned with a simple: ‘She said yes. I love you… forever.’

Legendary Nigerian boxer, Jerry Okorodudu says he is dying of hunger over the non-payment of his 10 months’ salary by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Okorodudu, Nigeria’s boxer in the 1994 Los Angeles Olympic Games, U.S., says he is owed the salary arrears by the sports ministry without any explanation as he told the told News Agency of Nigeria that the situation had deprived him of providing for his family, adding that he had “resorted to begging in order to eat and feed his family’’.
It will be recalled that the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games bronze medallist had in 2016 gone cap in hands begging the same ministry to pay him 14 months’ salary arrears. The matter was later resolved and he got his salary arrears then.
“I have travelled to Abuja severally and also written letters to the ministry but nothing is forthcoming, all they do is to keep referring me to different people in the ministry. I am dying of hunger and can no longer cater for my family because my salary has not been paid in the last 10 months.
I have represented this country during my active years and should not be treated this way, this is bad. A similar thing happened in 2016 where I petitioned the ministry and the court ordered them to pay me the 14 months salaries they owed me as at then,’’ he said.
The former boxer, who also won two gold medals at the African Championship in 1982, lamented the treatment from the sports ministry in spite of his contributions and sacrifices for the country. “My pensionable job in the ministry was changed to a contract; the Nigeria Boxing Federation has also sidelined me by removing me from every competition. I represented this country well as an athlete and a coach, but it is a pity that this is happening to me and other former sportsmen and women in the country,’’ he said.
President Buhari has said that the 2019 general elections will be costing about 242.4 billion Naira. The President said this today in a letter sent to the National Assembly, seeking that the funds be drawn from the 2018 and 2019 budgets.
In the letter he explained that implementing a budget of 9.12 trillion Naira for 2018 will be extremely challenging and does not consider it expedient, to increase it to accommodate the funds needed for the 2019 general elections.
He had earlier criticised the National Assembly for reducing allocations for some projects and including thousands of projects into the budget without consultation with the Executive.
According to him, the National Assembly made cuts amounting to N347 billion in the allocations to 4,700 projects submitted to them for consideration and introduced 6,403 projects of their own amounting to N578 billion.
“Many of the projects cut are critical and may be difficult, if not impossible, to implement with the reduced allocation. He has, therefore, asked the National Assembly to transfer the funds appropriated for the new projects which are inserted in the 2018 budget to cover the sum of 228.8 billion Naira for the elections.
The President also noted that the balance will be provided in the 2019 budget.

On addressing the remark on his blog, Banky W noted that the car is a 2008 Range Rover Sport and is currently for sale to the highest bidder.
According to him, he made the decision to sell the car last month month, and he will be donating whatever he gets from the sale to the “Vocational School for the Blind” in Oshodi and the “Pink Oak Cancer Trust Fund”.

A Zimbabwean man, Joseph Chirunga, 43, has been charged to court for driving away from a fuel station without paying, after filling a container he was carrying with 1,000 litres of diesel.
Prosecutor Linda Gadzikwa alleged that on July 9 around 4pm, Chirunga approached Siyakurima, an attendant who was on duty at the service station in Mablereign and hatched a plan to steal from him, reports iHarare.
According to reports, Chirunga was driving a Toyota Dyna truck with a fuel tank on its trailer and told Siyakurima that he wanted to fill the tank with diesel and that payments would be done after they had a full price of the amount of diesel.
It is alleged that Chirunga then answered a call pretending to talk to a person he claimed was his boss and said he (the boss) would cover the diesel cost.
Chirunga’s purported boss then sent a fake confirmation of payment to Siyakurima who did not thoroughly check the authenticity of the proof of payment he had received and Chirunga immediately drove away from the scene, transferring the tank to another vehicle in a bid to conceal the offence.
The matter then came to light when Siyakurima’s boss was making daily reconciliations and discovered that $1,317 could not be accounted for, which reflected that Chirunga did not pay for the fuel.
The matter was then reported to the police for investigations where Chirunga was apprehended while driving the same truck he had when the offence was committed, leading to his arrest.
He was released on $100 bail and ordered to continue residing at his current address and not interfere with witnesses.

A BBC documentary titled My Neighbour The Rapist show men admit to raping women and spreading HIV.
One man, known only as David, from Diepsloot in Gauteng, was interviewed by crime reporter Golden Mtika for the BBC documentary. David admitted to being a rapist and deliberately spreading HIV.
“I’m HIV, so I want to spread the HIV,” he said.
Mtika who said David was his childhood friend, said he had previously saved David from mob justice in Diepsloot.
In the documentary, the reporter asks David how he feels that he gave his former girlfriend HIV.
“I feel okay,” answers David.
In the same interview, he admits having raped about 21 or 24 women.
Asked if he uses protection, David said: “No… I didn’t use any protection…I know I’m HIV positive so I want to spread that HIV. I feel good because I can’t die alone.”
He then tells the reporter that he can’t stay 3 days without sex because he is “a powerful guy”. The reporter asks him if he thinks he is a dangerous man in the society, and David answers, “they are scared of me…they know I can take action anytime”.
The reporter proceeds to ask David if he was ever sexually abused while he was growing up and David replied: “Yes, I was around 14 or 15 years old at the time, the police started to treat me like a wife, then have sex with me…so I learnt it from there and started doing it outside.”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Presidency of lying concerning President Muhammadu Buhari’s invitation to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In a statement released on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party made it known that contrary to effort by the Presidency to present the invitation as positive for the Buhari Presidency, the administration has a lot of questions to answer.
“What the Presidency seeks to hide from Nigerians is that the ICC Rome Statute deals directly with critical issues of crime against humanity, which is already prevalent in Nigeria under President Buhari’s watch,” the party said.
The PDP said the fact that President Buhari is the only President invited to the event showed that the world is alarmed by the spate of blood-letting, extra-judicial executions, illegal arrests, arbitrary detention and torture going on in Nigeria.
“The party therefore calls on the ICC to take President Buhari to task on the documented abuse of human rights in Nigeria, particularly, the US Department of State 2017 Human Right Report, which catalogued issues of extrajudicial and arbitrary killings; disappearances and arbitrary detentions and torture, particularly in detention facilities in Nigeria under this administration,” PDP added.
The party asked President Buhari to report and defend himself to the ICC over “documented human right abuses, crime against humanity and killings in Nigeria” under his watch.

Van Vicker decided to place a bet with his family on who would win the World Cup between France and Croatia. Unfortunately, he was wrong and had to bear the brunt of his actions.
According to him the Russia 2018 world cup final match between Croatia and France led to him being kicked out by his family.
The divided in the family began when Van Vicker decided to support Croatia against his wife and kids’ choice to support France. This led to a bet which saw Van Vicker crash outside because he supported the losing side.
His post before the game:
”Goooooooooooollll!! Croatia all the way. The 3 France supporters in this picture will sleep outside in the rain tonite. #Russia2018.”
After the game was over, he shared a video showing him sleeping outside.
He wrote:
”I deserve what came to me. I threatened France supporters in my house would sleep outside in the rain tonight. Well France won, guess who is sleeping outside in the hammock? I pray it doesn’t rain tonite. My son joins me soon, lol.”

In a beautiful act of kindness, a couple decided to gift their daughter’s teacher a brand new car. This was to stop her from entering the bus to work everyday.
In a post on IG, the girl’s mother shared a video of the teacher’s shocked but happy reaction to the gift, and wrote:
“When my husband tells me that the teacher who has been teaching my girls for the last few years has been catching multiple buses to get to and from work everyday in the hot sun and cold!
“He said we should give her something I said….say no more! When you ask me to define success….this is my response! (Give to those without expectations).
