Salawa Abeni says

Veteran singer, Salawa Abeni, has revealed that she still gets advances from men despite her turning 57 recently.

Salawa made this known in an interview with Saturday Beats, she however said she has learnt to treat such men with respect while turning them down.

Salawa Abeni said,

“Men still pester me for love but I am always very careful with them even though you cannot know which one is good or bad from mere appearance .

“I mentioned it in one of my songs that if I laugh too much, they will call me a prostitute , if I frown too much, they will say I am proud. But it is good to be very diplomatic with them and not to be rude to them . ”

Decrying the rising spate of broken marriages especially in the entertainment industry, Salawa Abeni said that every man or woman needed a companion; therefore people must make their marriages work.

“Any love that doesn’t involve giving, is fake” – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

David Ibiyeomie

The General overseer and founder of Salvation Ministries Church, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has stated that love without giving is fake.

According to the pastor, the first way to prove that you love someone is by giving – he revealed this 2 weeks ago during his church sermon.

“Any love that does not involve giving is fake. If anybody ever told you ‘I love you’ and cannot give you something, cancel that love, it is not genuine love. The first way to prove love is giving

Using popular Bible verse, John 3:16, as a reference, he said that God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten son – with emphasis on the ‘gave’ – so imitating God, one is expected to give if one truly loves.

“SARS operatives are doing a wonderful job” – Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris Kpotum says

In another episode of whether Nigerian police unit, SARS should be ended or reformed, the Inspector General of the Nigerian Police, Ibrahim Idris Kpotum has chosen the latter as according to him, the unit are doing a wonderful job.

Contrary to what a handful of SARS operatives victim will say, the IGP has said in a recent interview that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad are doing a wonderful job and is quite shocked why Nigerians would want an end to them.

The IGP was asked recently what plans he has taken to reconstruct the unit as Nigerians are clamouring for its end and in response, he was jaw dropped before he went on to say facilities are being put in place to make sure the operatives work better.

He even tackled netizens as he dubs social media as a tool for those who are criminally minded.

He basically said,

End?!
You see, you have to be careful about this ‘clamouring’…
you know I remember Social media is a technology available to those that are criminally minded and we have to be careful to the way we respond to some of these ‘clamouring’ that you’re saying..

SARS is a unit of the police that I believe is to be sustained but what we’re doing is ensure that they’re properly trained and that is why we’re providing facilities for them to make work easier for them.

And I have to tell you that they’re doing a wonderful job

2019 Presidency: “Why I declared my intention to run early” – President Buhari explains

APC Chieftain slams Buhari

On Friday, 20th of July, President Muhammadu Buhari explained that he declared his intention to contest the 2019 Presidential election early in order to douse rising speculations in the country.

He also said the decision was to give the All Progressives Congress (APC) enough time to prepare for the polls.

The president gave this explanation when he received members of the Buhari Support Group Centre (BSGC) at the State House, Abuja.

According to him, speculations are already constituting distraction to governance and stirring unnecessary tension in the country.

“I had to announce before the National Executive Committee of our party about my intention to ask for the party’s nomination for next year’s election so that we can save a lot of time and cool tempers.

A lot of people were trying to make it a habit of being a nuisance to themselves and many Nigerians, so when I came out I said those who are serious let them come out. And I tried to make sure that the party is organised and consolidated so that we start from the bottom to the top, he said.

The president said early declaration guaranteed more participation within the party and further strengthened the bond with supporters and Nigerians.

He noted that God’s divine intervention and the use of technology during the 2015 elections exposed the weakness of previous processes where a privileged few sat and allocated figures to constituencies during elections.

“They just sit and look at a constituency and they award the numbers, then they say anybody who disagrees should go to court; Now for somebody who is looking for the next meal where does he get money to pay Senior Advocates of Nigeria? Thank God for technology, with the PVC you know where you registered and it can be shown whether you voted or not,’’ the president said.

He therefore advised Nigerians to get their voters card for the 2019 elections and ensure that they vote to please their conscience with pride as citizens.

But he got married to another woman after performing the introduction ceremony with Gladys.

The younger brother to the woman, Kenneth Imagbenikaro, while testifying at the resumed hearing of the trial, said Atewe came to their house with the false intention of marrying his sister.

Olu Jacobs’ daughter-in-law, Blessing Douglas claims her wedding cost over N10million

Veteran Actors, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva’s daughter-in-law has revealed how much her traditional wedding cost.

According to Blessing who graced the cover of KOKO rides, her wedding cost more than N10million.

Read excerpts from her interview below:

How did you meet Soji and how long have you guys been dating?

I met Soji in Lagos. I have known his mother for like 5 years because I have worked with her in quite a few projects, so based on that relationship.

I got to know the rest of the family members, which includes Soji, his brothers, and his father. We started dating in 2016 when I graduated from the college and went to Lagos for my NYSC.

Why is Soji so special?

He is everything I ever prayed for in a man. He is very calm and very disciplined.

He is religious as well, not in terms of being self-righteous or being a fanatic, but he respects God and upholds the biblical principles and so I was drawn to all those qualities.

Most importantly, he knows how to say “I’m sorry” when he is in the wrong and when he is in the right.

We also have communication about everything, because communication they say, is the most essential in any relationship and so we communicate a lot.

What is the most expensive accessory you will be wearing for your wedding?

This is the most expensive wedding in my tribe and it is called the IYA marriage.

It is the most expensive and the highest in the land because it is the king that gives you out, so everything I am wearing is expensive.

Can you give an estimate of what the wedding cost in terms of preparation?

The preparation cost over 10 million because this house as you can see is still being re-painted.

There was a lot of renovation and everything. You will get to see more in Porthacourt.

I’m sure you are seeing a lot of security presence, making sure everyone is fine. You have also seen the caliber of people coming in.

Who will be designing your dress for the white wedding?

Lanre Dasilva.

If heaven is where Adeboye, Kumuyi and others will go, then I don’t want to go there – Facebook User

Facebook sex therapist, Angela Nwosu has revealed reasons why she might not want to go to heaven.

According to her, heaven is where she believes Adeboye, Kumuyi and other religious leaders will go and it will be a boring place.

Read her post below:

I don’t want to make heaven!

If heaven is where Pastor Adeboye, Kumuyi, David Oyedepo and all other religious leaders and people will go to after death, then I reject it with every fibre of my being. Heaven will sure be a very boring and unbearable place to be in, full of fake people and extortionists and heartless people. I want to be where Fela is and would be happy to see Davido, Wizkid, Tekno, etc, join me there.

The thing about me is I don’t ever want to be like you. You don’t believe that you can live the way that I do. Seriously, you act like life’s a recital from the bible and once you reach the end you won’t know where the time goes. I’m living through my flows so please enjoy the show. No Jesus above tells me how to live my life, I do this for me, am not ashamed, I do not hide. I already have a God that turns me on with reckless abandon. He’s the God that I see and believe in and his name is Emeka.

So Save your prayers for your mothers, I’m doing fine, the last thing on my mind is the afterlife. The time is now, I live in the moment. I only think with logic, so keep your bleeping preaching, pity and emotions. I can never be broken even if I’m lost in the ocean, I still won’t give a Bleep where I’m supposedly going, ighotago? For real, I don’t want to spend eternity with any of you. Death is the only thing promised to us at birth. Save your ‘may God have mercy on you’ for your sisters that are doing abortions, for your brothers raping kids, for small girls with big God knacking other women’s husbands, for your pastors and your village people

There’s no time to waste once you enter this World, If you ask me, there is no afterlife and when I die, I will be satisfied with who I am and what I leave behind!

Udo.

Young Nigerian man who survived cruel attack after being accused of witchcraft, graduates from high school

Nigerian Man Survived

A Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven on Friday, celebrated the graduation of one of the boys she rescued in Akwa Ibom five years ago.

According to Ms Loven, Asuquo was brutally attacked with machete after being accused of witchcraft and left for dead.

Against all odds, he survived the barbaric attack, mental, psychological trauma and on Thursday, graduated from high school.

Read below:

Yesterday was a very emotional day. I cried a lot of tears. So did our Director of Child Development, Orok, but it was happy tears.

I never forget that day, almost 5 years ago today. David advised me not to see him but I insisted.
When I saw Asuquo I literally broke down to my knees. There was not a single space on his body that the machetes had not touched. He had even been cut in his head by an axe. For him to survive this barbaric attack was a miracle. The pain he had to endure for a long period was inhuman.

After the attack Asuquo lost his faith in humanity. He was weak and he had no desire to stay alive. Who can blame him. It was a long struggle for him to gain strenght. But he was guided by David and Orok. Loved by all staff and the children. Slowly he started to believe in life again. He started school and he studied very hard to keep up with his fellow students.

I can say without any doubt that I have never met a young man who has read as many books as Asuquo. He loves to read and reading became his way back.

Not long after the attack he become number one in his class and since then he never gave the number one position to anyone. He even become the top student of the entire school.

Two years ago Asuquo started High School and yesterday he graduated . His results was one of the best for students to have in High School !!!!

He got 6 B’s in Math, English, Further Mathematics, Physics, Data Processing and Civic Education in a school very known for it’s excellence and integrity.

Thank you so much to the Holy Family College, Abak for your tutorship. We are very grateful for our great partnership with you.

So here we are, 5 years ago since the attack and Asuquo has graduated from High School being among the best students. I’m so proud I want to just scream out loud !!!

Asuquo is a hero to the children. A rolemodel to all of us. All the children dream to follow his footsteps. He is our pride and next year he will start university

Yesterday Orok brought some of the senior kids to the graduation party at Asuquo’s High School.

Congratulation my son. I’m so proud of you. I cannot wait to celebrate you very soon. I love you forever and always. You make my life beautiful

2019 Election: PDP reveals when its Presidential Candidate will be known

PDP reveals

The PDP has revealed when its Presidential flag-bearer for the 2019 general elections will be revealed to the public.

It also showed that the governorship candidates might emerge on September 21.

The document further showed that the primary for those interested in going to the Senate would hold on September 18, while that of the House of Representatives comes up four days earlier, which is September 14 .

The party has also tentatively scheduled its primary for the State Houses of Assembly for September 8 .

Local government congresses, where delegates are to be elected, have also been slated for August 31 , while that of the wards, where three ward ad hoc delegates are to be elected, are scheduled for August 25.

All aspirants interested in any elective position on the platform of the party are expected to start buying their nomination forms from August 13.

However, members of the National Executive Committee of the party are expected to ratify the proposal before it becomes binding.

How we got 125 votes after spending N50 million in Ekiti – Dotun Ayorinde

Ekiti election votes

Mr. Olalekan Dotun Ayorinde, a gubernatorial aspirant under the ANRP platform has narrated how his party got a total number of 125 votes after spending the sum of N50million for the just concluded Ekiti State gubernatorial election.

The United States of America-based Bio-Pharmacist made this revelation while addressing journalists in Ibadan on his readiness to turn around the fortune of the state.

Ayorinde maintained that the “Ekiti State gubernatorial election has exposed a lot of flaws in the country’s electoral process that needed to be worked on”.

The ANRP guber aspirant, who was flanked by the state Vice Chairman of ANRP, Mrs Kehinde Aiyeola and other members of the party, added that one of the major problems with Nigeria was that its leaders don’t want to take responsibility.

Ayorinde applauded the party for its tenacity and rare courage in Ekiti.

He expressed the need to overhaul the country’s political landscape that is heavily monetized and induced.

He said though, “Ekiti governorship election has come and gone, the election has exposed a lot of flaws in the country’s electoral process that needed to be worked on. My voyage into politics was to savage, not only Oyo State but to join hands with younger generations of like minds to right the wrongs in the Nigerian polity.

“Our party spent N50 million naira in the election and we got 125 votes, you can see. It is not because we are not prepared but people focused on the major political parties, but this time around it is not going to be a party thing.

“The election was highly monetized. One of the major problem with Nigeria is that its leaders don’t want to take responsibility.

“One of those things lacking is that our leaders in Nigeria lack the ability to take responsibility. No one is above mistakes. We all make mistakes many times.

“My duty is to take responsibility for what has gone wrong and correct the anomaly as the man at the helm of affairs, not passing the bulk.

“Ability to take responsibility is the hallmark of a good leader and its one of the foremost qualities of good leadership. We have been making excuses for so long.”

He described Oyo State as a place with a lot of potentials that could be utilized to improve the welfare of the people, adding that it was only Ibadan which served as the Southwest regional capital that was yet to have electricity company of its own.

The governorship aspirant expressed the hope that his party would certainly make meaningful impart in 2019, stating that the people were already embracing the manifestos of the party.

He said “We want to empower the people. We will also guarantee regular electricity because we are not going to power our future with generators. I have been to the Olubadan and the Alaafin and they gave their blessings. The people of Oyo State has long been impoverished. I believe the system can work.

“We need to improve the competency of our teachers and look into their pay. We need new hospitals, the present state hospitals are outdated, we need emergency house services”.

The budget states in part, “Feeding of 50 horses: N7, 719, 454; maintenance of existing vehicles for 2019 elections for the period of 20 days: N407, 400, 000.”
