In a very interesting turn of events, the Nigerian woman who wakes up at 4:50 am to cook and pack her husband’s lunch for work has been rewarded with the whopping sum of over N1 million by men.

The woman, with the X handle @_Debbie_OA, has been trending online since she revealed that she started waking up early to cook for her husband after he mentioned how his female colleague brought two spoons to the office so that she could share her meal with him.

She tweeted on Thursday, January 4,

“I’ve always been too lazy to wake up and get his lunch ready. But the day he told me a colleague brought two spoons so he’ll eat with her, was the day I set my alarm for 4:50am.

I feel men will understand better. She just resumed there o, she saw he wasn’t bringing food and suddenly brought spoon. He came back home and told me about how she’s been extra friendly, I decided to try to start packing his lunch, before he fall for the friendliness.”

Her revelation sparked a huge debate on social media, with some people, particularly women, claiming that she is insecure for cooking for her husband out of fear of him being snatched by another woman.

However, some Nigerian men countered their arguments, stating that there is nothing wrong with a woman waking up to cook for her husband.

The men, who were evidently impressed by the woman’s devotion to her husband, went as far as donating money to the woman after it was discovered that she had earlier tweeted about desiring a bedside fridge.

As of the time of writing this story, over N1 million has been sent to the woman’s bank account to acquire the fridge and other things she desires.

Some tweeps on the microblogging platform X, have criticized a lady after she disclosed that she wakes up by 5 am to prepare lunch for her husband.

Their criticism and mockery have started a war on X (Twitter), as other tweeps supported the lady, condemning the opposition.

The lady had shared that she began to wake up to cook for her husband at 5 am after he informed her that his female colleague at work brought 2 spoons so he could eat with her.

According to some, the acts she is exhibiting to prevent her husband from getting snatched is a good move and also her responsibility, while others who appear to have an issue with the actions of the woman have termed  it as ‘slavery’.

After noticing the comments her tweet received, she decided to shed more light on the account, where she wrote;
