Nigerian artiste, Sky B was involved in a ghastly car accident and according to online sources, he barely escaped the accident.
A Facebook user identified as Angel Attah shared photos from the accident scene in Port Harcourt.
She asked friends to pray for the quick recovery of the singer whose car was also badly damaged from the accident.
He wrote:
“Breaking news SKY B Nigeria’s music star in an accident yesterday please join me in prayers…”
In the 2000’s Sky B was about the biggest new kid in Nigerian music at the time. Sky B’s accident is coming when Nigerians are still mourning veteran singers Ras Kimono and Moses Ochie of ‘Fellyx and Mozzyx’ fame.
While Ras Kimono died after reportedly slumping at the airport, Moses died in his Lagos home, after battling with a chronic kidney ailment for seven years.
He was reportedly diagnosed with the ailment on Christmas day in 2011. He was preparing for a kidney transplant and hip bone replacement surgery before his death.
His death was confirmed by the board and management of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) who described him as a very talented and committed member of the society.
Coson’s Head, Corporate Affairs, Chibueze Okereke, said the society took active steps to generate resources to support his treatment, but he passed on before the treatment could commence.
His ex-band mate and partner, Felix Eiremiokhae, also took to Facebook to pay his last respects.
He wrote, “So sad but with thankfulness to God for the life he gave to our brother, Moses. It was a seven year battle with kidney issues and for seven years he fought both here in Nigeria and in India where he successfully did a transplant which later failed with complications and he fought to the last day . In 1991, he sang “I wanna be free”, wanting to be free and today, he is free from all the troubles of this sinful world. RIP Moses (FELLYX & MOZZYX) the late 80’s/90’s pop musical group. I believe the angels are smiling welcoming you home with open arms.”
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, who has been battling blood cancer for a while now, has shared a wonderful testimony of how he is winning the battle against the ailment.
Carl Ikeme whose hospitalization has seen him miss the FIFA 2018 world cup in Russia spoke of how he can now go about normal activities pending when he will finally be cured.
He shared the news on his IG writing:
”After a tough year and intense chemotherapy throughout I would like to let everyone know I am in complete REMISSION.
“I still have hurdles to get over to be cured but I can hopefully now move forward with some normality.
“I would like to thank my family/friends to start with who have gone above and beyond for me ❤
“The support I have received from Wolves/Nigeria, the football world and from people from all over the world has been hard to put into words.
“I can’t thank everyone at the Christie and heartlands hospital enough for there care!!!What next who knows…
“I’m just taking it a day at a time #Grateful ?? #Remission.”
Here are photos of The mamuzee twins wives who apparently, are also twins. They have been accused of misleading the singing duo.
It all started with a call out from Veteran Musician, Daddy Showkey, after he called out musical twin, Mamuzee for neglecting their mother for 17 years.
Showkey took to social media to call out the singing duo for neglecting their mum until she died recently at Igando General Hospital in Lagos, only for them to rush to social media to mourn her.
Daddy Showkey’s allegation was recently backed by the sister of the twin, Augusta who is also the last child of the family.
Augusta, who was present during the old woman’s final hour, told Saturday Beats that their mother’s death was caused by the singing twins.
Augusta didn’t stop at that as she also claimed the wives of the Mamuzee twin were also at fault for the neglect. She was quoted saying;
Tony and Andrew killed our mother. It is Mary and Martha that are doing this to them. All is not well, I saw what they posted on Instagram about our mother’s death. They do not even have her recent picture except the one I sent when our mother was in a coma.
The picture that they are posting online is the one my mother took after we just returned from Ghana in 1985.
Little is known till date about the wives of the Mamuzee twin. The two identical men got married to identical twin ladies named Mary and Martha.
The story behind the choice of their wives too is intriguing, as they said they made up their minds to get married to twins while in the secondary school. Andre said;
“When we were quite younger, we used to date different girls. Can you imagine, you are in the room with a girl and she is looking at you askance, asking if you are sure you are Akpos or Andos? It was crazy.
“Later, we actually wanted to get married to one girl, but it didn’t work out and we then opted for twins. That is the fun of it, and in our house, there is no sadness.
Two sisters from the same house, there is no quarrel, no problem. We are both expectant fathers and we pray that when the children come, they will not be asking who their father is between us.”
Iyanya has been mocked on social media for giving a group of fans N3,000 after much hailing.
An aggrieved fan named Mickey called him out on social media over the incident and surprisingly, the fan got quite a hell of supporters who mocked the singer.
According to the fan who narrated his ordeal with Iyanya via his snap chat, Iyanya was spotted alongside his escort and security, watching the Nigerian football match yesterday at River road, Abraka Delta state.
He decided to leave when the game was over but was hailed by all those who came to watch the match and motorcycle rider to give them some cash.
The singer splashed N50 denomination of Naira notes which was counted to total N3,000, sparking an outrage
The crowd angrily left the meagre sum for the okada riders to share.
Art is such a thing of beauty, meant to be valued and appreciated. People commonly find beauty in works of art and they appreciate them by passing compliments. Sometimes they go as far as paying a few (or a lot of) bucks just to have the right to keep the piece of art whose beauty has been registered in the heart.
Beyond these two forms of appreciation of art, giving out awards is another way to appreciate good works of art, especially if the awards are given based on merit, without bias or sentiment. That’s the idea behind awards like The Grammys & Golden Globe.
Music being a form of art is usually appreciated through compliments, paid for with scarce resources, and in fact huge and expensive events are held to celebrate excellence & brilliance in the art of music making. Artistes and their works are gathered, grouped, rated and the best in the different groupings are awarded for their respective standout materials.
I believe that’s the concept of the Headies Awards, SoundCity MVP Awards and the other prestigious awards that Wizkid has snubbed over the years. If it happened once it could have been a mistake. Twice – it could have been an unfortunate event but the consistency with which Wizkid treats Nigerian award ceremonies with contempt, suggests that it is a habitual thing.
Anyone following the music industry in Africa would agree Wiz is amongst the most frequently nominated artistes on the continent. The Starboy has been named on the nominee’s list of different awards, in different categories but he consistently snubs the events. It seems Wizkid has convinced himself to think that he is bigger than African music awards but even at international award ceremonies and events, Wizkid is usually absent.
Weezy’s failure to perform at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival epitomises his habit of absenteeism and unprofessional acts. His excuse was that he couldn’t secure visa for his band members but that has the sound of a late minute arrangement.
With enough time before the event, Wizkid had multiple options – one was to try multiple attempts to sort out visa issue, if that fails, set-up a makeshift band in US (where the event held) and prepare well enough to deliver a groundbreaking performance. If all that fails, inform the organisers of the event early enough of your challenges and inability to make it to the event, so the general public could be fed beforehand with the gist that there’s no Wizkid performance happening at Coachella.
Sadly none of these logical options was taken and it is even more sad that the manner with which Wizkid & his management communicated the botched Coachella performance reeks of disrespect especially to his fans who sing his chorus, praise him on Twitter and defend him with their best words during music debates – first he promised to makeup for his initial failure, the promise wasn’t kept and he just hushed like he didn’t just (figuratively) disappoint a whole continent.
Silence! Really? The millions of Wizkid fans across the globe who were looking forward to seeing their star singer wow the same audience as Beyoncé, while also showing to the world a side of Africa that is uniquely beautiful, deserve an explanation. If truly Wizkid cares about them like he claims on social media and during interviews he would have given reason for dashing their hopes not once but twice. But does he even care at all?
During a press briefing, Wizkid explained that he does not attend international awards (and perhaps events) that do not respect African artists; but then he treats Coachella and his fans with so much disrespect. How about the tens of native awards that he refused to attend or even acknowledge? Isn’t respect supposed to be reciprocal?
Around the tail end of last year, Wizkid was named “Young Person of the year” at The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) 2017. The prize was perhaps the biggest of the night, as it had the brightest young creatives on the African continent in the list of nominees.

Linda Ikeji has tapped on the motivational side of herself, and has taken time to enjoin her her followers on social media to take the path of success by working really hard to earn it.
In her latest post Instagram, Linda Ikeji, as her custom is, has once again encourage her followers to not be discouraged when things are going wrong but keep moving till things get bright.
First she share this epic throwback photo below:
The she went ahead to tell the story behind the photo. Read below:
“I bought this car in 2007. It cost 700k back then but I made a down payment of 350k to pay the remaining 3 months later. After 3 months, I’d been able to pay only 100k of the remaining 350k & the car owner came to my house one day to seize the car. Lol. I can laugh now but it wasn’t funny back then. I remember my dad followed me to the man’s house to beg for him to return it to me and give me more time. The man refused. So I was carless for about 2 months but because I knew how important having a car was to my business (I was always running around), I knew it was top priority to raise the balance.
“I had a modeling agency back then and so I started going to bother all the ad agencies owing me money. I became a nuisance at their offices…lol. Before I’d wait for them to call and ask me to come collect my cheque but now, I wanted the money now now. Some managed to give me, some didn’t but I was finally able to raise the 250k balance & got my car back.
“Fast forward to 5 years later. Between 2012 to 2018, I’ve probably bought about 15 cars for family, friends and staff. And none was 700k…lol.
“Seeing this photo again brought back memories and reminded me of how God works. And how your life can change from not having enough to having so much, you can share with others.
“You life can change for the better in an instant and that instant can last forever. Just remember to always hold on to God. He’s watching. He’s seeing your struggles and one day, He’ll hold your hands and never let go. .
“God is holding my hand so much right now that I was able to solely finance lindaikeji.tv from advertising money made from another platform he blessed me with…lindaikejisblog. All the crazy equipment we have, studios, office, mansion, content, manpower etc was solely financed 100% by LIB.
“God works in ways we sometimes don’t understand! He can make you wait. I waited for 14 years. He hasn’t forgotten you. Be patient. He listens. He’s watching. And He will eventually come to hold your hands when it’s your turn. And when he does, your life will never be the same. Just never stop believing in Him. Your time is near. I declare God’s enormous blessings into your life. Say amen!”
29-year-old Muritala Babatunde, the killer of Oriade Adebisi aka Oh Dollar, 22, and his girlfriend, Julian Eke Imaga, 18, both students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, has been arrested alongside one of his accomplices, Taiwo Rasak, 18.
While being paraded yesterday, Muritala, who was caught with the deceased’s iPhone X and two pairs of canvas shoes, said Oriade, who was a “Yahoo boy” and a member of his confraternity, was giving money to a rival cult group.
He also said they did a deal and got a huge sum of money but the deceased refused to give him his cut despite all his moves.
He said, Oriade was recently abducted by another person involved in the deal and the person forced him to pay him his own cut.
He further alleged that the deceased said there was nothing he could do to get his share of the money realized from the deal and that he didn’t also recognize him as the current Number one of the Black Axe Confraternity, Ijebu-North axis.
He said on 28/05/2018 at about 11pm, having noticed Oriade’s movement along Oru-Ijebu junction, he quickly called his gang members: Rasak Taiwo aka IKU (Death) and Sodiq, and Oriade and his girlfriend were kidnapped in his car.
They were taken to the bush along Ijebu-ode Awa/Ibadan expressway where both of them were killed.
He then took his iPhone and two pairs of shoes from him and thereafter abandoned the car at the expressway, having dumped their lifeless bodies in a bush at the back of uncompleted building where they were murdered.
On his part, Rasak, who was initiated into AIYE confraternity in year 2015 when he was just 15, confessed that Muritala called his girlfriend Seun Yetunde, who had been monitoring Oriade’s movement, to bring a bag that contained two guns and a cutlass.
That Muritala gave him one of the guns, handled one and handed over the cutlass to Sodiq while waiting patiently for Oriade to come. Few minutes oriade and his girlfriend arrived in a car.
He added that they took them to the bush along the expressway, where they were killed with planks and gun.

There seems to be some sorta division in the Yoruba fraction of Nollywood after actress, Ronke Oshodi-Oke took to social media to slam her colleagues who are in the wont of flaunting their lifestyles on social media. (ICYMI)
Though the actress didn’t mention names when she made her video, her colleague Lizz Anjorin took it upon herself to reply her describing her as ‘evil, wicked and an old jobless begger’.
She also made a video on her page where she asks Ronke if she was there during her days of humble beginnings and the fact that she flaunts whatsoever she wants is not to oppress anyone but rather inspire.
She was led to tears while making her video as according to her, she can’t believe this is coming from someone she sees as a friend.
Watch her below,
Liz Anjorin wrote in one of the videos she shared,

Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr on Friday said his team’s 2-0 defeat of Iceland was all down to technical transformation and sacrifices by the duo of Mikel Obi and Victor Moses.
Nigeria beat Iceland 2-0 at the Volgograd Arena in a Group D match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, with the win pushing them into contention for qualification.
Rohr who spoke at the post-match conference also praised his team and coaching staff for working hard to achieve the victory.
“We changed our formation to 3-5-2 and it was good for us. It was a different style in defence.
“Kenneth (Omeruo) is so strong in the air and we needed that to cut off the crosses by Iceland into the box and also the set-pieces.
“The players, as well as all the staff, worked so hard in the past six days or so for us to be ready for Iceland and be able to achieve this.
“Everybody was not happy after that loss to Croatia and we all realised that we must get going to be able to realise our dreams,’’ he said.
The coach added that the team also benefited from the sacrifice made by the duo of Obi and Moses who opted to play as needed and asked of them.
“Mikel has in the last two years been playing as an offensive midfielder, especially now in China, while Victor has been playing as a forward. But we needed them to play in different roles today.
“We needed to convince them to make the sacrifice for their country, and they accepted. They played so well in these roles and the team and their country benefited.
“It is not easy having to do so, especially when you have to combine defensive duties with offensive duties. But the team is now the better for their sacrifice,’’ he said.
Rohr also praised two-goal hero Ahmed Musa, saying his speed as well as his work rate helped a lot in pushing back Iceland in the second half especially.
“We realised at half-time that we needed to do something to change the game, and that was why we brought in Tyronne Ebuehi to add more offensive force on the left flank.
“Musa now added to it with his speed, and this changed the game for us. By the time we did more of counter-attacks, and with quick passes in the middle we had the game in control,’’ he said.
The coach nonetheless praised Iceland for their game, saying “they gave us a good fight, they were fair and showed good attitude, even after the game’’.
Nigeria will now face Argentina on Tuesday in St Petersburg needing at least a draw to qualify for the Round of 16.
Nigerian cross-dresser, Bobrisky seems to have set his sights on a new guy – probably wandering a little away from his ‘bae’ – this new guy the cross-dresser is setting his sights on is someone we all are familiar with.
This new guy is none other than Big Brother Naija 2018 finalist, Tobi – Bobrisky who has previously declared his love for Wizkid, Davido and Kcee seems to be considering Tobi as a prospective recipient of his affection.
A young man who has been identified as Chibuike aka Achi, reportedly lost his life in Okomoko, Rivers State – he died after taking a mixture of dry gin and Tramadol.
According to reports, the deceased took a lot of alcohol before heading to a bakery in the area, to fight another young man whom he had accused of snatching his girlfriend.
On his way home after successfully beating his rival, he collapsed and died. When his pockets were searched, a bottle of dry gin, tramadol, lighter and a penknife were found. His rival and the snatched girlfriend have since been arrested by the police.
At a time when many actors are opting to own choice houses in posh parts of Lagos, popular actor Aremu Afolayan is not convinced that they made their money through the craft.
The actor told Saturday Beats that Nigerians are quick to believe anything especially once it is on the internet but the truth is that most actors driving big cars most likely got their money from influential people.
He said, “By the way, I live my life, people tend to think that I am the richest Yoruba actor, but that is a lie. Nigerians assume a lot. I live in a rented apartment because I cannot afford to build one. When they see me buy a new car, they don’t know if I paid for the car in instalments; instead they call me a big boy. What type of big boy lives on N50,000 or N100,000 income per film as an actor? I challenge any Nigerian actor that is living larger than life to state how they made their money because I am sure it is not from the movies they make. I am talking about both the English and Yoruba actors.”
“If they like, they can say they make N5m per film, they cannot afford to build or buy a house at Lekki or Victoria Island or Ikoyi. It is impossible. They should call out mathematicians to figure it out. It is a lie. It is because they meet some influential people that give them businesses or they have side businesses. Since we do not all meet such people or make the kind of money they make through these people, we just have to be content with what we have. In my life, I have never seen an ‘educated illiterate’ country like Nigeria. Nigerians are very gullible when it comes to judging other people’s lifestyle since they do not know anything, they assume. Then social media came and it made things worse.”
The filmmaker who is often referred to as one of the most controversial actors in the industry for his outspoken nature told Saturday Beats that he was shocked when Nigerians tagged him as a homosexual simply because a picture of him pecking a man surfaced online. He said that at a time, Nigerians called him a gigolo. Now, they are referring to him as gay simply because of a publicity stunt.
“I went to a store with a friend to pick up a wristwatch I had been paying for in instalments. My friend was taking pictures when I told him that we should cause trouble on social media with a picture of me pecking him. When I posted the picture, it went viral within 15 minutes. In fact, we were still in the store when the picture went viral. I was shocked that Nigerians would even conceive the idea that I am gay because I love women. Anybody can be gay and I mean no disrespect to them but as for me, the picture was just done for publicity stunt. I never knew it would go viral that fast.
“People call me a gigolo; how come I do not have money? I know a lot of people that are gigolos and they are doing fine. If they say I am an actor and gigolo, why would I have to sell a car in order to afford another car? What is wrong with me buying Versace and Ferragamo? Why would I be a gigolo and not dress like a posh boy? Why would I be wearing slippers everywhere I go? So why should I answer the people calling me a gigolo? I do not have to convince anyone; when I know that at the end of the day, I would not waste my time convincing you about anything. You can think about anything you like but I am not here to convince anyone,” Afolayan said.
A few days ago, Veteran singer, Daddy Showkey, called out singing duo Mamuzee on social media and explained how the twins abandoned their mother for 17-years until her death.
According to the singer, the duo abandoned their mother after a pastor told them, she was a witch.
Speaking at their mother’s burial, Augusta, the younger sister to Mamuzee Twins affirmed that they should indeed be blamed for their mother’s death.
In her words;
“About six years ago, our mother was so unhappy with the fact that she had not seen her sons for a very long time, so she took two pastors and went to their house and according to the pastors that went with her, immediately they saw our mother, they went inside the room and came out with a bible.
“Then they stood on the Bible and placed a curse on our mother. They said that if she had come with any evil intention, she would die in a week. The pastors said that our mother could not cry; she just began to sweat. When they got back to my house, my mother could not say a word. That was the final straw that broke the camel’s back because after that day, we began to visit several hospitals over her health. Although I never tried to reach out to Mamuzee because I was very upset with them, some of my other siblings reached out to them but couldn’t get through them. About two months ago, I noticed that our mother could neither eat nor drink anything.”
“I got a nurse to treat her and we were told that she had malaria. When her health was getting worse, I rushed her to Igando General Hospital and to my surprise, I got Daddy Showkey’s call. He was our childhood friend even though he is older than Tony and Andrew. We all loved him. When I picked his call, the next question he asked was about our mother. By that time our mother was in a coma, Daddy Showkey asked me to do a video call when I was with my mother so that he could see for himself and I did as he instructed.
“My father-in-law advised me to take a picture of my mother in her comatose state and send it to all my siblings via Whatsapp. Every one of them responded, even the two that are abroad except Mamuzee. It was obvious that they saw it but they did not respond. All my mother’s children living in Nigeria rushed to the hospital to see her except Tony and Andrew and the two that are abroad kept calling constantly.”
Augusta continued saying;
“While she was alive and ill, she was always calling Mamuzee. There was a time I had to go to Bayelsa to get some of her things. There was a box where she kept her documents, I stumbled on her Bible and prayer books and the only thing she asked from God was for her twins to return to her. Our mother died of heartbreak and depression.”
“The amazing thing is that our mother never laid a curse on them. Our mother gave birth to ten children and we all have children of our own. If our mother was a witch, she could have killed us or her grandchildren but we are all healthy and doing very fine in life. We do not know where the story that they do not have children emanated from because they both have kids.”
“Tony and Andrew killed our mother. We started our lives in Ghana before our mother brought us back to Nigeria and singlehandedly raised us. Now they are calling this same woman a witch.”
“Tony and Andrew cannot be forgiven. I did not comment because I do not want to have anything to do with them. Tony and Andrew killed my mother and they would not find peace. My mother’s spirit would take vengeance. I give God the glory that my mother held her peace till the very end. My mother prayed for ten years to have twins and when she finally had Tony and Andrew, it was as if they were her only children. My siblings were angry that our mother really loved them but now that we are grown up, we understand. They would not go unpunished,” she said.
So in the morning of the Super Eagles’ match day against Iceland, a Nigerian man with the Twitter account, @Tolusaba took to the platform to give his prediction on the result of the match.
The precision of his prediction is what has had him become a social media sensation right about now – @Tolusaba shared how he had a dream that the match resulted in 2-0 and the goals were scored by the same person, though @Tolusaba didn’t specify who’d emerge winner.
During the second half of the quite intense game, which was held in the Volgograd Arena, Super Eagles striker, Ahmed Musa scored two impressive goals after finding his way into the opponent’s delicate territory.
The fact that it happened just as he tweeted is what has @Tolusaba’s page flooded with Nigerians asking him to make predictions for their future too…

Shirley Kordie, 33, has hypoplastic MDS and will leave her son, Blessing, four, without a mother if she is not treated soon.
Her brother Joseph, who lives in Ghana, is a “perfect” stem cell match but his visa application was denied due to his “financial circumstances”. The Home Office said it was “urgently reviewing” the case.
Ms Kordie said: “My life is in danger – I need to get my life back for my son. “I have my little boy, and I want to live for him.”
The Anthony Nolan Trust and the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) have launched a campaign to support Ms Kordie, who has been receiving treatment at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The Anthony Nolan Trust said the reason Joseph had been refused a visa is because “he doesn’t earn enough money”. A petition urging the government to reverse its decision had amassed about 10,000 signatures in 36 hours.
Joseph, a nurse himself, is unable to make the donation in Ghana, so coming to the UK is his only option, said the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Spokeswoman Amelia Chong said there were no alternative options for a donor on the international stem cell register.
“Her brother is a perfect, 10 out of 10 match for her,” she said. “We have reviewed all those on the donor list and he is not only the perfect match, he is the only match.
“All Joseph needs is a temporary visa to undergo the procedure.”
Today marks the beginning of a beautiful campaign in Russia. Surprisingly, it came against Iceland. A team I dread too much after they flung ice that landed on Messi’s head.
Musa came to the party ready. He generously came with extra Suya. Firing home a cross that would have easily eluded him if he wasn’t precise.
The bar where I was erupted in unity. I saw Biafra agitators celebrating with a country they want to run from.
See what success does? It washes off the scale of many things.
The second goal came after Musa elbowed his way into the box of the Icelanders and made sure that their goal keeper chased his shadows.
The second goal came minutes after the commentators said “None of the sides have a star”
That goal made them chew their words like starved hyenas.
Everything was good minus the betrayal of not giving Russians a shaku vibe. Oya, let them forget Russians.
We at home needed something we could connect with but they didn’t do this for us. I guess the goals were enough to start a mental shaku in our minds.
