A quite heartbroken man has put his wedding ring up for sale on eBay after his wife ran off with another man just two weeks after their union, Metro UK reports.
Andy Mitchell, 40, had married his 21-year-old sweetheart Meaghuan in a lavish £30,000 ceremony in Mexico, on June 3. He probably thought he’d be spending the rest of his life with her but this was not to be the case.
Meaghuan decided to leave him just 16 days later for a man she had apparently met on her hen night.
She admitted to having fell for another man but insisted they only slept together after the wedding.
‘We know what we’ve done and take full responsibility. I was young and naive when I first got with him,’ she said when discussing her relationship with Mr Mitchell.
Mr Mitchell, a taxi service manager, now wants to cut his losses and sell both their wedding rings for £400.
He announced the split from his wife on the Facebay Fife Facebook group, writing:
‘Hi, recently I got married in Mexico on the 3rd of June and this was the wedding set I used while Meaghan Mitchell said her marriage vows.”
‘However, six days later I found out she started having an affair on her hen night and it carried on for eight weeks through our dream wedding.’
He also posted images of texts he claims were swapped between Meaghuan and her new man.
He said:
‘We had no secrets. We trusted each other completely.
‘I managed to get her phone off her and locked her outside.
‘I read all the messages and took pictures.’
The couple had married in Akumal Bay Beach Resort, Mexico, in front of family and friends. Mr Mitchell added: ‘All her friends and family are embarrassed. They don’t want anything to do with her.’

Kenyan comedian, Eric Omondi’s elder brother, Joseph Omondi passed away hours after he was found by his family in Nairobi CBD. Eric’s brother was found in an unhealthy condition as he was addicted to Cocaine and other substances.
“This is not the last image I would have wanted to post of my brother… But this is definitely the image I want every young person in this Country to see!!! Joseph Onyango Omondi passed on this morning around 3am, barely 12 hours after I found him in Downton River Road. He was addicted to Cocaine and other substances and was in and out of Rehab for the past 19 years. May God himself take charge,’’ Eric wrote on his social media page yesterday.
The comedian said he traced his brother after a tip from a taxi driver in Nyandarua Road, Nairobi.
He took to his Instagram handle and narrated how his brother had struggled with addiction since high school
“If you are a young person and you follow this account.. This is for you!!! This is my blood brother Joseph Omondi (Same father same mother) Joseph has struggled with drug addiction since high school… He has been in and out of rehabilitation. We have tried our best as a family,” he posted.
He later advised youths in school using drugs to stop.
“Because of his addiction he has a tendency to run away from us to avoid Rehabilitation. I tracked him yesterday through a taxi guy who spotted him in Nairobi downtown along Nyandarua Road. If you are reading this na uko High school ama colle na ushaanza kuonja hizo vitu jua tu kuna time hautaweza kulala bila hizo vitu,” he added.
A young lady with the name Chizoba Miracle Emenaha has taken to Facebook to out her wicked aunt – according to Chizoba, the said aunt not only maltreated her but stopped her from getting an education.
Read her quite lengthy post below;
This for my aunt..last born to my father.. I will call her by her name because I have a lot of bitterness for her in my heart, and because of what she did..I’m yet to forgive everyone who played one or two roles in it..
De Gladys as you are called.. I will first start by telling you…. You will not MAKE HEAVEN!!!!
You say you are a Christian but you are a wicked human, soooooo wicked that even the devil is learning from you… You see I’m writing this now because I’m free from you and everyone who would try to hold me back or punish me like you do in those days..
I will now start… My dad brought me to your house because to him he said he wanted me to get home training.. First I was deceived into it . I was told It was just for a holiday…not knowing you two had it all planned.. I arrived your home, My first night in your house arm robbers visited your house.. That became the beginning of my ordeal because you won’t end any of your sentence without reminding me I’m a misfortune, a bad omen whom on her first night in your house brought thieves…
I stayed with you. To enroll me in school became a big deal for you.. Finally when you did,it was a local school in an uncompleted building attended by house helps..
Even at that you won’t allow me go to school.. I will wake up as early as 4am sometimes 3am to Prepare what your kids will eat.. Go to the shop, shade your goods Prepare your kids for school. Take them to school..
Then come back to Go In Search of firewood I will use to cook at night .. While you sleep..
You have the money to buy as many litres of kerosene as you want..
But because of wickedness you turned me to a slave… Before I could finish with the day’s runs.. Its 10am..
Some days you allow me to go to school.. Other days you tell me not to go because its late that I should go to he shop and stay while you enter your room to sleep..
Is it the days you beat me at every slightest provocation.. You flog me to the extent I start crying even without been hit.. I talk to myself and lament… out of all the mothers why will it be my own mom that should die..
You made me which death for myself.. When you noticed I always talk to myself.. You called my dad and told him I was possessed… He believed you his dearest last Born.
It it when I started growing Breast..
You noticed because I was using my scarf to tie my breast while going to school to avoid other students from teasing and laughing at my pointed nipple..
When you saw I started growing breast instead of you to get me a new bra..
You gave me one of your old red worn out bra.. The bra wasn’t even holding anything.. But I have no choice. And that was the only bra I owned..
Is it days you will starve me, when you finally manage to give me #10 fufu, you will tell me to share it the ekuke dog living with your family..
Is it the day I was to take my last exam in ss1.. You told me to take your kids for their graduation party and leave my exam..
I suggested I take your kids to school then go write my exam since my school was close to your kids school.. You insisted I forget my exam and stay with your kids at their graduation party..
Because to you my future doesn’t matter… All you know is your own kids.
Through out my stay in your house you never bought me one single dress.. Rather you gave me your oversized worn out dresses…
People around always asked if I’m sure I’m truly related to you because of your harsh treatment towards me..
When it’s time for me to write waec.. You told me its not everybody that will go to school.. You knew I was brilliant..
Even with the number of days I manage to go to school I still take the second position which always leave you amazed.. But when it was time for me to get waec form..
Instead of you to buy the form for this girl who labours day and night for your family’s upkeep… You told me its its not everybody that will go to school.. I should learn sowing..
Even when I agreed to learn sowing you never registered me.. You kept postponing it.. Till I received sense and found out you were out to waste my life… I ran away..I ran for my future..
Maybe its something my late mom did to you. Maybe she offended you and you swore to pay back.. Just maybe..
Cos till today I can’t fathom the wickedness.. Or you were simply been too wicked in nature.
When I left your house You told my dad I stole from you Without pointing one particular thing I stole…. You labelled me a thief.. Well my dad believed you.. Because right from day one my dad never believed in me..
Today I found out all your kids attended and still attending one of the best secondary schools in town and others iñ tertiary institutions..
And I’m thinking.. Why didn’t you enrol them in sowing training without getting their school cert just like you suggested to me..
I left your house seeing my monthly period but you never noticed, because each time I try to talk to you about something concerning my body…
You will sày I’ve started seeing man…
You damaged a huge part of my life and the damage hasn’t left me..
Because of things I went through in your hands and more.. I begged God to keep me alive to train my kids to adulthood or take me when I haven’t brought any child to this life….because I wouldn’t wish want them to pass through half of what I went through as a motherless child.. If my mom was alive… You dare not!!!
You claim to be a born again Christian, a virtuous woman.. Well laugh and I still tell you..
YOU WON’T MAKE HEAVEN.. If you could treat a motherless child the way you maltreated me.. Then Heaven is clearly not for you..
Blessing Chidera Make sure your mom reads this….
My dad will also read.. Maybe he will start understanding why I distant myself from home a times..
Things like this are what I remember and I become sad at everyone….
The topic on rape and consent has been going on for a while and the debate has always been “Her No means NO” whether or not, she led you on to the point that you want to get down with her, or that you’re already getting down and then she refuses to go any further.
Scenarios that could be possibly lead to rape have discussed a lot and a Twitter user has brought another angle and asks if it’s a must that sex must happen because of that scene.
According to @hrp_endowed on Twitter, the fact that a lady sleeps naked next to a guy shouldn’t prompt sex – she says that Self Control is what most men need in this age and time.
Read her:
So because I sleep naked next to a guy, sex must happen??? I beg to differ please.
Self control is just what most of you need, pathetic lot!

In a new episode of life’s emotional stories, Romelu Lukaku has revealed that his family was so poor in Belgium that they borrowed bread from the bakery to eat, and pay later.
Romelu Lukaku, who currently is representing Belgian at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia, has shared a very emotional story about his childhood and poverty, saying that he watched milk fizzle out from his family’s lunch table at six, adding that when he was 12, he wore his father’s shoes to training, but promised to make it at 16.
Read his full emotional story below:
“I remember the exact moment I knew we were broke. I can still picture my mum at the refrigerator and the look on her face.
I was six years old, and I came home for lunch during our break at school. My mum had the same thing on the menu every single day: Bread and milk. When you’re a kid, you don’t even think about it. But I guess that’s what we could afford.
Then this one day I came home, and I walked into the kitchen, and I saw my mum at the refrigerator with the box of milk, like normal. But this time she was mixing something in with it. She was shaking it all up, you know? I didn’t understand what was going on. Then she brought my lunch over to me, and she was smiling like everything was cool. But I realized right away what was going on.
She was mixing water in with the milk. We didn’t have enough money to make it last the whole week. We were broke. Not just poor, but broke.
My father had been a pro footballer, but he was at the end of his career and the money was all gone. The first thing to go was the cable TV. No more football. No more Match of the Day. No signal.
Then I’d come home at night and the lights would be shut off. No electricity for two, three weeks at a time.
Then I’d want to take a bath, and there would be no hot water. My mum would heat up a kettle on the stove, and I’d stand in the shower splashing the warm water on top of my head with a cup.
There were even times when my mum had to “borrow” bread from the bakery down the street. The bakers knew me and my little brother, so they’d let her take a loaf of bread on Monday and pay them back on Friday.
I knew we were struggling. But when she was mixing in water with the milk, I realized it was over, you know what I mean? This was our life.
I didn’t say a word. I didn’t want her to stress. I just ate my lunch. But I swear to God, I made a promise to myself that day. It was like somebody snapped their fingers and woke me up. I knew exactly what I had to do, and what I was going to do.
I couldn’t see my mother living like that. Nah, nah, nah. I couldn’t have that.
People in football love to talk about mental strength. Well, I’m the strongest dude you’re ever going to meet. Because I remember sitting in the dark with my brother and my mom, saying our prayers, and thinking, believing, knowing … it’s going to happen.
I kept my promise to myself for a while. But then some days I’d come home from school and find my mum crying. So I finally told her one day, “Mum, it’s gonna change. You’ll see. I’m going to play football for Anderlecht, and it’s going to happen soon. We’ll be good. You won’t have to worry anymore.”
I was six.
I asked my father, “When can you start playing professional football?”
He said, “Sixteen.”
I said, “O.K., sixteen then.”
It was going to happen. Period.
Let me tell you something — every game I ever played was a Final. When I played in the park, it was a Final. When I played during break in kindergarten, it was a Final. I’m dead-ass serious. I used to try to tear the cover off the ball every time I shot it. Full power. We weren’t hitting R1, bro. No finesse shot. I didn’t have the new FIFA. I didn’t have a Playstation. I wasn’t playing around. I was trying to kill you.
When I started growing taller, some of the teachers and the parents would be stressing me. I’ll never forget the first time I heard one of the adults say, “Hey, how old are you? What year were you born?”
I’m like, What? Are you serious?
When I was 11 years old, I was playing for the Lièrse youth team, and one of the parents from the other team literally tried to stop me from going on the pitch. He was like, “How old is this kid? Where is his I.D.? Where is he from?”
I thought, Where am I from? What? I was born in Antwerp. I’m from Belgium.
My dad wasn’t there, because he didn’t have a car to drive to my away games. I was all alone, and I had to stand up for myself. I went and got my I.D. from my bag and showed it to all the parents, and they were passing it around inspecting it, and I remember the blood just rushing through me … and I thought, “Oh, I’m gonna kill your son even more now. I was already going to kill him, but now I’m gonna destroy him. You’re gonna drive the boy home crying now.”
I wanted to be the best footballer in Belgian history. That was my goal. Not good. Not great. The best. I played with so much anger, because of a lot of things … because of the rats running around in our apartment … because I couldn’t watch the Champions League … because of how the other parents used to look at me.
I was on a mission.
When I was 12, I scored 76 goals in 34 games.
I scored them all wearing my dad’s shoes. Once our feet got to be the same size, we used to share.
One day I called up my grandfather — my mum’s dad. He was one of the most important people in my life. He was my connection back to Congo, where my mum and dad are from. So I was on the phone with him one day, and I said, “Yeah, I’m doing really well. I scored 76 goals, and we won the league. The big teams are noticing me.”
And usually, he always wanted to hear about my football. But this time it was strange. He said, “Yeah, Rom. Yeah, that’s great. But can you do me a favor?”
I said, “Yeah, what is it?”
He said, “Can you look after my daughter, please?”
I remember being so confused. Like, what’s Grandad on about?
I said, “Mum? Yeah, we’re cool. We’re O.K.”
He said, “No, promise me. Can you promise me? Just look after my daughter. Just look after her for me, O.K.?”
I said, “Yeah, Granddad. I got it. I promise you.”
Five days later he passed away. And then I understood what he really meant.
It makes me so sad to think about, because I just wish that he could have lived another four years to see me play for Anderlecht. To see that I kept my promise, you know? To see that everything was going to be O.K.
I told my mum that I would make it at 16.
I was late by 11 days.
May 24, 2009.
The playoff final. Anderlecht vs. Standard Liège.
Lukaku: To me, every game was a final.
That was the craziest day of my life. But we have to back up for a minute. Because at the start of the season, I was barely playing for the Anderlecht U-19s. The coach had me coming off the bench. I’m like, “How the hell am I going to sign a pro contract on my 16th birthday if I’m still on the bench for the U-19s?”
So I made a bet with our coach.
I told him, “I’ll guarantee you something. If you actually play me, I’m going to score 25 goals by December.”
He laughed. He literally laughed at me.
I said, “Let’s make a bet then.”
He said, “O.K., but if you don’t score 25 by December, you’re going to the bench.”
I said, “Fine, but if I win, you’re going to clean all the minivans that take the players home from training.”
He said, “O.K., it’s a deal.”
I said, “And one more thing. You have to make pancakes for us every day.”
He said, “O.K., fine.”
That was the dumbest bet that man ever made.
I had 25 by November. We were eating pancakes before Christmas, bro.
Let that be a lesson. You don’t play around with a boy who’s hungry!
I signed my pro contract with Anderlecht on my birthday, May 13. Went straight out and bought the new FIFA and a cable package. It was already the end of the season, so I was at home chilling. But the Belgian league was crazy that year, because Anderlecht and Standard Liege had finished tied on points. So there was a two-leg playoff to decide the title.
During the first leg, I’m at home watching on TV like a fan.
Then the day before the second leg, I get a phone call from the coach of the reserves.
“Hello?”
“Hello, Rom. What are you doing?”
“About to go play football in the park.”
“No, no, no, no, no. Pack your bags. Right now.”
“What? What did I do?”
“No, no, no. You need to get to the stadium right now. The first team wants you now.”
“Yo …. What?! Me?!”
“Yeah, you. Come now.”
I literally sprinted into my dad’s bedroom and was like, “Yo! Get your ass up right now! We gotta go, man!”
He’s like, “Huh? What? Go where?”
I’m like, “ANDERLECHT, MAN.”
I’ll never forget, I showed up to the stadium, and I like pretty much ran into the dressing room and the kitman said, “O.K., kid, what number do you want?”
And I said, “Give me number 10.”
The kitman said, “O.K., kid, what number do you want?” And I said, “Give me number 10.” Hahahaha! I don’t know. I was too young to be scared I guess.
He was like, “Academy players have to take 30 and above.”
I said, “O.K., well, three plus six equals nine, and that’s a cool number, so give me 36.”
That night at the hotel, the senior players made me sing a song for them at dinner. I can’t even remember what I picked. My head was spinning.
The next morning, my friend literally knocked on the door of my house to see if I wanted to play football and my mum was like, “He’s out playing.”
My friend said, “Playing where?”
She said, “The final.”
We got off the bus at the stadium, and every single player walked in wearing a cool suit. Except me. I came off the bus wearing a terrible tracksuit, and all the TV cameras were right in my face. The walk to the locker room was like 300 meters. Maybe a three-minute walk. As soon as I put my foot in the locker room, my phone starts blowing up. Everybody had seen me on TV. I had 25 messages in three minutes. My friends were going crazy.
“Bro?! WHY ARE YOU AT THE GAME?!”
“Rom, what is happening? WHY ARE YOU ON TV?”
The only person I texted back was my best friend. I said, “Bro, I don’t know if I’m gonna play. I don’t know what’s going on. But just keep watching the TV.”
In the 63rd minute, the manager subbed me on.
I ran out onto the field for Anderlecht at 16 years and 11 days old.
We lost the final that day, but I was already in heaven. I made good on my promise to my mother and to my grandad. That was the moment I knew we were gonna be O.K.
The next season, I was still finishing up my last year of high school and playing in the Europa League at the same time. I used to have to take a big bag to school so I could catch a flight in the afternoon. We won the league by a mile, and I finished second for African Player of the Year. It was just … crazy.
I actually expected all that to happen, but maybe not so fast. All of sudden, the media was building me up, and putting all these expectations on me. Especially with the national team. For whatever reason, I just wasn’t playing well for Belgium. It wasn’t working out.
But, yo — come on. I was 17! 18! 19!
When things were going well, I was reading newspapers articles and they were calling me Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker.
When things weren’t going well, they were calling me Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker of Congolese descent.
If you don’t like the way I play, that’s fine. But I was born here. I grew up in Antwerp, and Liège and Brussels. I dreamed of playing for Anderlecht. I dreamed of being Vincent Kompany. I’ll start a sentence in French and finish it in Dutch, and I’ll throw in some Spanish or Portuguese or Lingala, depending on what neighborhood we’re in.
I’m Belgian.
We’re all Belgian. That’s what makes this country cool, right?
I don’t know why some people in my own country want to see me fail. I really don’t. When I went to Chelsea and I wasn’t playing, I heard them laughing at me. When I got loaned out to West Brom, I heard them laughing at me.
But it’s cool. Those people weren’t with me when we were pouring water in our cereal. If you weren’t with me when I had nothing, then you can’t really understand me.
You know what’s funny? I missed 10 years of Champions League football when I was a kid. We never could afford it. I would come into school and all the kids would be talking about the final, and I’d have no idea what happened. I remember back in 2002, when Madrid played Leverkusen, everybody was like, “The volley! Oh my God, the volley!”
I had to pretend like I knew what they were talking about.
Two weeks later, we were sitting in computer class, and one of my friends downloaded the video off the Internet, and I finally saw Zidane smash it into the top corner with his left.
That summer, I went over to his house so I could watch Ronaldo Fenomeno in the World Cup Final. Everything else from that tournament is just a story I heard from the kids at school.
Ha! I remember I had holes in my shoes in 2002. Big holes.
Twelve years later, I was playing in the World Cup.
Now I’m about to play in another World Cup, and you know what? I’m going to remember to have fun this time. Life is too short for the stress and the drama. People can say whatever they want about our team, and about me.
Man, listen — when we were kids, we couldn’t even afford to watch Thierry Henry on Match of the Day! Now I’m learning from him every day with the national team. I’m standing with the legend, in the flesh, and he’s telling me all about how to run into space like he used to do. Thierry might be the only guy in the world who watches more football than me. We debate everything. We’re sitting around and having debates about German second division football.
I’m like, “Thierry, have you seen the Fortuna Düsseldorf setup, though?”
He’s like, “Don’t be silly. Yes, of course.”
That’s the coolest thing in the world, to me.
I just really, really wish my grandad was around to witness this.
I’m not talking about the Premier League.
Not Manchester United.
Not the Champions League.
Not the World Cups.
That’s not what I mean. I just wish he was around to see the life we have now. I wish I could have one more phone call with him, and I could let him know
“See? I told you. Your daughter is OK. No more rats in the apartment. No more sleeping on the floor. No more stress. We’re good now. We’re good …
They don’t have to check the I.D. any more. They know our name.”
People are yet to get over the recent photos Nigerian cross-dresser, Bobrisky shared online – the ones of him clad in a bikini and posing seductively.
While some are nauseated over the effeminate’s photo, some are quite surprised that he could pull off such a look – popular Nigerian rapper, Speed Darlington is certainly not in the league of those who are digging Bobrisky’s photo.
Speed Darlington shared one of the cross dresser’s photo on his page with the caption,

Banky W has declared his close friend, TV Personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the “best-dressed man in Nigeria”.
The ‘Strong Thing’ singer made this assertion in an article about Obi-Uchendu titled ‘The Other Winner of Big Brother Naija’.
In the article, Banky W talks about how Obi-Uchendu’s fledgling brand received a huge boost from hosting the reality TV show for the second straight year.
Obi-Uchendu, who ranked eighth in the first edition of Big Brother Naija, often turned out in dapper outfits whenever he stepped out to present the eviction show on Sundays.
His outfits resulted in Twitter meltdowns and countless hashtags.
Commenting on his fashion flair, Banky W wrote:
“I believe it’s fair to say that Ebuka is unarguably the best dressed Man in Nigeria, and possibly Africa.
“When you think of TV show hosts, even the extremely accomplished ones like American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest… you never really notice their style.
“They tend to blend into the show and become a part of the fabric; Ebuka, on the other hand, doesn’t blend in, and doesn’t just stand out… he shines.
“He has completely shattered the TV presenter mould; viewers look forward to the weekly Sunday Eviction shows to see who was getting kicked out, but also just to see what Ebuka wore.”
“He turned Sunday nights into his very own personal fashion show.
“His outfits trended online as much as the contestants did. In a business where stylists have to beg, plead, sweet talk and cajole designers into lending their clothes for use in productions, Ebuka turned the table upside down.
“Designers are instead the ones scrambling to get him to wear their pieces.”
“This is because he has a singular transformative immediate and long-lasting impact on their market. Case in point: Circa “#BAAD2017”, Designer Ugo Monye had less than 4k followers, and was reportedly charging an at-best modest amount for a very innovative take on the “Agbada”; he had infact displayed that style of Agbada for over 6 months, with very little fanfare or success.
“And then Ebuka wore it. What happened next is astonishing: the designer’s followers got up to 30k in the first 24 hours, and now sits north of 75,000.
“The same could be said about his revenue. That Agbada style was sold for N50,000 prior to Ebuka wearing it. And now? The very same Agbada will require you to shell out $1,000 USD. I call that ‘The Ebuka Effect’.”
Obi-Uchendu was one of the groom’s men at the wedding of Banky W to actress Adesua Etomi.

The Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has dismissed Prof. Richard Akindele who was allegedly involved in a sex-for-marks scandal.
Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, the Vice Chancellor of OAU, announced Akindele’s dismissal in a statement on Wednesday in Ile-Ife.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the vice chancellor of the university had on April 19 confirmed the suspension of Akindele pending the findings of the investigative panel.
Miss Monica Osagie, a student in the Masters of Business programme, had released a recorded telephone conversation, which went viral, in which the lecturer identified as Akindele demanded five rounds of sex to enhance her marks.
Ogunbodede said that the University Senate at its meeting on June 14 considered the committee’s finding that Akindele had an inappropriate relationship with his student.
He said this was established through their conversation in the audio recording, his reply to the query, the oral evidence and the printed ‘WhatsApp conversations’ tendered before the committee.
The vice chancellor said Akindele had acted in a manner that compromised his position as a teacher and examiner in that his conversations with Osagie were about examination scores and inducement of favour for the alteration of examination scores.
Ogunbodede said: ” He offered to change Miss Osagie’s purported “33%” result to a pass mark in consideration for sexual favours; this was established in the audio recording which he admitted.
” His claim that Miss Osagie knew that she had passed with a score of ‘45’ but was seeking to score an ‘A’ and that this led to him being sexually harassed by Miss Osagie cannot be supported by any evidence.
” Professor Akindele’s actions in requesting for sexual favours from Miss Osagie to change her examination scores was scandalous behaviour that has brought ridicule to the name of the university and has tarnished the reputation of the university, as it portrays the university as an institution where its teachers and examiners trade marks for sexual favours.
” From the evidence, Miss Osagie had no idea that she scored ‘45’, a pass mark as later claimed by Professor Akindele, although she later found out she did not fail the course.
” Professor Akindele’s claim that he reported Miss Osagie’s ‘harassment’ to his colleagues cannot be supported by any evidence as all his colleagues denied it and one mentioned that she only talked about the matter with him after the audio recording was released over the internet.
” Professor Akindele operated in a position of power and authority over Miss Osagie and as such sexually harassed her.
” Professor Akindele was liable for all the allegations of misconduct levelled against him.’’
The vice chancellor said the Senate recommended that Akindele, having been found liable on all the allegations against him, should be dismissed from the services of the university.
” The Council, at its meeting of today, Wednesday, 20th of June, 2018, having considered the recommendation of Senate, as well as the report of the Joint Committee of Council and Senate, decided that Professor Richard I. Akindele should be dismissed from the services of the university for gross misconduct.
” The university has also taken further steps to ensure the total elimination of Sexual Harassment (SH) in the OAU community.
“The university has a legal duty to prevent sexual and gender-based harassment within the institution and ensure that both men and women are protected from this menace; and thereby provide conducive environment for teaching and learning,’’ he said.
Ogunbodede said in order to create conducive environment for teaching and learning, the university was creating more awareness and disseminating information on what constitutes sexual harassment within the university.
He said the veracity of sexual harassment concepts includes sexual solicitation and advances, sex exploitation, prostitution, seduction, pimping, sexual assault, unwanted touching, vulgar sexual jokes and rape among others.
Ogunbodede said that OAU was fully committed to the eradication of sexual and other types of harassment from the university and would do all that was possible to nip the menace in the bud.
” OAU has zero tolerance for sexual harassment and as a renowned university will do everything humanly possible to maintain the rules and regulations of the university,’’ he said.
While speaking during a live television interview, a Benin, Edo State-based cleric identified as Prophet Tommy Yisa Aika, predicted that Nigeria will be the first in Africa to lift the World Cup.
The man of God went further to demand that Nigerians should pay him N750,000 to pray for the Super Eagles to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
He said that God is interested in Nigeria’s Super Eagles conquering the world at the Russia 2018 World Cup “but because we have disobeyed God as a result of our nonchalance towards His directive that we should not engage a Whiteman to lead our team we may lose this golden opportunity which may not come to us again for another sixty years.”
To appease God, Prophet Aika volunteered to intervene with his over 60 prayer warriors, who are already on standby, to undertake ceaseless prayer sessions “so that what has been destroyed can be readjusted to grant the Super Eagles divine favour all through the tournament.”
He is asking for the sum of N750,000 for the prayers which will bring the Super Eagles victory.
He said: “What I need is a token N750,000 (seven hundred and fifty thousand naira) to get some spiritual materials and also to give my prayer warriors as honourarium.
“This (none inclusion of a Whiteman in the Super Eagles team) has been the message that I have been passing to our Football authorities in the last couple of years but which has always been disregarded. Those who know me can attest to this.”
Pastor of a pentecostal church, Jackson Edekin has taken to Facebook to brag about how he beats his wife every day, yet they are still the best couple.
He made the statement in a comment section of a post about domestic violence, where it was stated that any marriage involving such should be vacated.
Commenting he said, There Is no marriage that cannot be fixed, that leaving a marriage because you are beaten is not the best options. He then revealed he beat his wife everyday yet they are the best couples on earth.
What he wrote: “There is no marriage that cannot be fixed. There is nobody if provoked to the extreme will not act abnormal. To leave a marriage because you are beaten is not the best option.”
“How many of our mothers left because they were beaten. It’s only an insane man that will beat the wife for no cause. The question is why was the woman beaten. If you know why you are beaten then go find solution to stop.”
“My advice is go find out about whom you are marrying. A lady/guy that insult you while dating will beat you up if married. A guy/lady that can leave you for another while dating what do you think will stop them if they are married. I beat my wife everyday, yet we are still the best couple on earth”.

Popular ‘Nollywood Cry Girl’, Nkiru Sylvanus who is the former Imo State Government Liaison Officer recently delved into music with a new album titled ‘I’m not Afraid.’
She tells The Nation’s DUPE AYINLA-OLASUNKANMI that she is set to take her musical career as serious as she does her acting. She also talks on other sundry issues
You recently released an album, ‘I’m not Afraid’. What is the idea behind the title?
It simply means that I am not afraid of the powers that be. I am not afraid to express my commitment to God, I am not afraid to let the world know I stand with Christ. It’s about time we took the kingdom work more seriously.
What is the album content like?
The album is a bold step at bringing out one of my gifts, which is singing, and it is already on different online platforms. The 15-track album was released on March 25, 2018 by the Record Label, Kisil Entertainment Network.
It has songs like Imela, I Cry to You, Authority, Chukwu Obioma, Awesome God and I’m Not Afraid, featuring Ifunanya. I will begin the first leg of my media tour in Lagos.
With the release of your album, will you be putting movie aside?
They are all art and entertainment, they marry each other, and they complement each other. For me, going into gospel music is a passion that has been subdued for too long and it’s about time I came out and used the talent for the purpose it was given. None will give way to each other but I hope and pray to use both well.
How do you intend to push yourself with gospel music, especially considering that you don’t have a strong stand against secular music?
Gospel is gospel. I am not competing with anyone; all I pray for and would work towards is to create my own space. Whether secular or gospel, we all have a message to deliver; how you deliver yours is what matters.
How long do you intend to pursue music as a career?
I wish for this to last as long as my breath can take me, hence I am taking it easy because I plan to stay here long enough and be able to give out a quality message while doing the work of my Father in heaven.
Having been off the movie scene for a while, how do you think people will react to the new you?
I have always been with the people and amongst the people. And I wouldn’t say I’ve been off the screen because I still do movies. But you can say that you haven’t been seeing me quite often. Right now, I am back full time, because that is my first love
What kept you busy while you were off the movie scene?
It’s been work, work, and work. For me, there is never a dull moment. I’m one who always wants to engage myself positively. I do not have time to show off or stories. I just work.
Tell us about working as a public servant to the people of your state
I grew up with working for the public because entertainment is for the public. For me, it wasn’t anything exextraordinaryIt was discharging my duties in a different form to the public and taking orders, putting in my best as I would every other thing I venture into.
Why haven’t you been functional in movies like in the past?
I never left the scene in the first place.
Like most of your colleagues are doing, do you harbour any plan to become producer too?
I am a producer already and I have produced some movies and will keep producing more. I have my own entertainment company.
Was being typecast o one of the reasons you took a break?
I don’t understand this, because I got my break in the industry with my first major work.
There have been several reports on you being married. Is there any truth to those reports?
We need to ask the rumour mongers because I am as confused as you are. It’s all rumours from idle people. It’s all lies. For me, my private life is my personal affairs. So whatever decision I take tomorrow, it’s totally my responsibility. If it turns sour, I face it alone and if it turns sweet, I face it. It’s my life. I do what makes me happy. I’ve been married on the internet more than three times! They first got me married in 2008, then they got me married again in 2011 and then they got me married again in 2014/2015. I’m beginning to ask, why do they like to get me married? If I was already married in 2008 and in 2011, why again should I be getting married in 2015? That means they were all lies. It’s all rumours. Some people will report this stuff like they know you when they only see you on TV.
But there were reports that you got married to your colleague’s hubby?
Which colleague? Because the last time I checked I am not married to anybody’s husband.
It is believed that you got your political appointment because of your personal relationship with the governor. And you left because of his wife. How true is this?
The appointment is like employment. You are employed to work, not to sit and eat. You work to put food on your table and also acquire more knowledge. An appointment isn’t an achievement that one would sit back and beat his chest to say I have arrived. What could be so special with ‘come and work’ that people will make so much fuss about it? We should focus our energy on more productive things. My boss is my boss, nothing more and the wife is like a mother to me.
What is your reaction when you come across these stories?
I don’t pay attention to things that don’t add value to me, so I barely notice them.
What then is holding you back from taking the marital vows?
It will happen in due time, and when the time comes it won’t be a hidden affair; you will all be invited. When the right man comes calling and if I’m satisfied within my soul that this is the man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with. I’ve worked hard as a young lady that, right now, I don’t want just any man but a man that will be there for me. A lot is being said about me, and I know.
What would you say you achieved while serving as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Imo State?
I would say more knowledge and a better understanding of how government works in Nigeria. It’s an experience I would advise everyone who can to try so that they can understand the system well and not allow themselves to always be pushed around by all these power hungry individuals roaming the street and feeding us with lies.

In commemoration of the World Sickle Cell day, a professor of Genetics, Professor Cyril Otoikhian, was invited to speak on the ailment and how it can be managed since there is no cure.
When asked how parents with children that have the ailment can invest and manage them, the professor said;
“Investing in a sickle celled child is like loading your money into a sachet and you are in a moving car, you throw the money away. Sickle cell disease is a genetic disorder. I am a professor of genetics and we know right from time even till tomorrow that genetic disorder are not reversible” he said

Esimaje Awani, the Nigerian-Canadian fashion designer who produced the ‘Buba’ and ‘Sokoto’ worn by the Super Eagles to Russia for the 2018 World Cup, has expressed dissatisfaction for lack of credits for designing the outfits and for Nigerian media not celebrating his designs as they celebrated Nike’s jersey’s design.
The CEO of GT Stitches, who is the designer of the Super Eagles traditional wear that cemented their ‘Best Fashion Team’ award, specialises in making male and female caftans and his outfits has earned the Super Eagles rating as “The team with the best traveling uniform” in Russia by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
While speaking with Daily Sun, in a phone interview on Tuesday, Awani who is a Warri, Delta State-based designer and the maker of white outfit finished with green neck embroidery design for Super Eagles players said he feels under-appreciated by Nigerians.
He said:
“It was actually a surprise when I saw the advert of the design on different blogs and newspapers even television stations without giving credits to me. If not for MITV that came to grant me interview on Saturday, nobody knew I was actually the designer of the Super Eagles’ dress”.
Expressing dissatisfaction over how low Nigerians rate Nigerian products, Awani said: “I think the problem we are having in this country is that we are having it very difficult to appreciate what is made in Nigeria.
“In Nigeria, we are engulfed with mentality of celebrating what is made abroad. The only reason Nike is having edge over Nigerians designs is because Nigerians prefer foreign products than local ones.
“If I were from America or UK, I would have been celebrated more than this. We need to start celebrating our own things and that is how we can industrialise our nation.
“Our local content is there as a law and the government has implemented it but what we need to do now is changing our behaviours and mindsets towards appreciating Nigerian goods”, he stated.
Speaking on what prompted his initiative to designed the dress, Awani said: “I’m a designer before now but Super Eagles’ design is borne out of love and passion for Nigeria because as a citizen of Nigeria, I have too much confidence in this country believing that only this country’s citizens that can move this country from point A to B.
“Immediately after the qualification of Super Eagles for World Cup competition, I think our last match with Algeria, as a designer, I felt it would be right for me to contribute my own quota to the entire project of going to Russia.
“That was then I sat down with my team and decided to create something that can actually enhance the confidence of our players.
“And at the same time to create jobs for Nigerian youths because the target of our company is to contribute our own quotas towards eradication of unemployment from Nigeria as well to establish our brand.
“So, this design was actually borne out of love and patriotism for Nigeria and that took me so much to create because it’s not a ready made design but created from the scratch”.
On why Nigerians must patronise local made designs.
He said, “As local designers in Nigeria, we are putting in our best to see that we can create something that can compete with our international counterparts. But what you need to understand in fashion business is that, it is patronage that can place you on top other brands.
“So as I said earlier, our people need to cultivate mindset of appreciating our brands over international brands because we are doing well and you can agree with me that the kind of clothes we do have to do with our own culture and that is the most important thing.
“This is our culture and everything we do has connection with our culture especially in designing clothes in Nigeria and Africa generally”
