President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday urged Nigerians to stop glorifying thieves but should treat them with disdain for bringing hardships on others.
Buhari said this in a Sallah message made available to journalists by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, to mark the end of Ramadan.
“He (Buhari) also urged ordinary Nigerians to stop glorifying thieves by treating them with disdain for bringing hardships on others,” the statement said.
The President also thanked Nigerians for their patience with his administration, saying reforming a country that was pushed into near decay on account of corruption would come with teething pains.
He, however, assured them that their pains were temporary.
Buhari further told Nigerians that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
“These pains are temporary. The APC administration which I am privileged to lead is beholden to the ordinary Nigerians and will leave no stone unturned to make their security, welfare and happiness our priority,” the President said.
Buhari stressed the importance of putting the virtues of Islam into practice beyond the Ramadan season.
While congratulating Muslims on completing “this spiritually significant month of sacrifice”, the President urged them to reflect on the importance of Ramadan in becoming good ambassadors of Islam at all times.
He said, “Religion should be the moral compass for all believers in their public and personal lives.
“If the people allow the teachings of their religions to influence their conducts, problems such as corruption, which diverts public funds to private pockets, would have been eliminated in the society.”
He regretted, however, that “selfishness and greed have overcome people’s conscience so much that they don’t have moral inhibitions in the pursuit of their greed.”
He added, “It is impossible to separate morality from religion, and removing this connection encourages corrupt leaders and other exploiters to commit atrocities against the society.
“I always wonder why any true believer, be they politicians, civil servants or businessmen, would seek to make profits from the misfortunes of others.”

A Nigerian lady identified as Mrs Reen Udeze, has taken to her social media platform, Instagram, @diary_of_a_pilot_wife, to share some lovely pictures from their stunning pre-wedding photo shoot and had nothing but good words and accolades for her hubby.
She used the opportunity to talk about her husband’s focus and attentiveness and the real reasons why she chose to marry her pilot lover.
Read her lengthy piece below:
“Why I Chose Mr Pilot”
As difficult as it is to convince some people that it wasn’t just an attraction and it wasn’t just a meet today and fall in love thing, I’ll stand firm to say, I chose Him for reasons I’ll be sharing.
God’s will: I didn’t marry just who I love, I married the will of God. As difficult as it is to put it across to you and to convince, I wouldn’t have said Yes if it wasn’t the will of God (I’ll one day talk about how I knew it’s God’s will).
He misses me and shows it: He knows it that long stint of radio silence wasn’t good for me and he made sure he showed he miss me, I had a phone where I had 360 of his messages; when he was busy, he dropped messages and when we see, he hugs me and means it.
He appreciates me: I know how easy it is to see the things that haven’t been done than the ones that have, not for Him!. He appreciates and says thank you for the ones I couldn’t do.
He supports my dreams: As big as my thoughts are, he supports me and thinks along with me. He tries to find out the deep passions of my heart and is always willing to talk about how to get there and willing to help me because he knows better that when I’m fulfilled, I’m a better woman and a better wife.
When he’s with me, he’s with me alone: I don’t fight with his phone for attention. I’ve seen put chats on mute for me, block numbers, turn off phone, ignore even emergencies. He makes every moment we spend together count.
He has eyes only for me: He began to understand that things like flirtation bring the self esteem of a woman down. He worked on himself for me. I am the only one he desires without a cloth; it makes me stronger and confident.
I didn’t marry just who I love but God’s will #Make18
In the process of trying not to live under God’s permissive will I met a PILOT. Truth is, I didn’t really care if it was God’s permissive will or not. I made my plans and began forcing God into accepting my plans. The very important thing I learnt during this process was not to plan and invite HIM(God) but to let him plan and invite me,no wonder Jesus was willing to say “Nevertheless, no my will but yours be done”
Being his girlfriend came with so many challenges and roles. I found out he lived his life on the go and sometimes was unavoidably away from me(even though we agreed to see every month). I just knew it would take strong commitment and a forgiving heart to get to the end of it especially when I know I was seeing a really young one that spent almost no part of his late teen age and early twenties with his parents.
Most people who have never dated or been married to a pilot, hold an assumption that all pilots have affairs or are untrustworthy. With good-looking crewmembers, long overnights in different cities, how could they not be unfaithful? Right? The fact is that yes pilots are constantly being placed in situations that could welcome cheating, but the reality is people are disloyal in their relationships regardless of their profession, and not all pilots fall under this general stereotype.
I realised I had to be a certain type of person, I must know how to go often on my knees, I must know how to learn to be alone, I must like to travel, I must have less trust issues and be a very confident woman. We had alot of fights, not necessarily because he was was wrong, but because it was my first Travel Person experience.
At some point, I knew God needed to work on me and He did. I had a different level of grace entirely
I then realised I needed to introduce somethings, I needed to do better, I couldn’t have just happy moments, I needed to focus more on positivity.
So here are some tips that got me here
1. PRAYER: I found a confidant in God, I was willing to share my fears, the girl I felt was a threat, the beautiful hostess I think liked him, his journey and most times I couldn’t pray, I lay and meditate and let the Holyspirit pray.
2. COMMUNICATION: I realized he spends more time travelling and sometimes, it creates communication challenges as he’s even behind schedule and during flights, he can’t be reached, he lands, I can’t talk to him sometimes because of different time zone. Lack of communication can cause insecurities or questions of what’s going on while on trips, it can also lead to relationships that don’t require regular check in and that doesn’t hold him accountable for his actions. I began regular checks and he got so used to it. He began calling often to let me know he landed safely, video calls became often too so I’m included in his plans, see how healthy he’s eating and talk him to sleep. In doing these, I built a healthy foundation to deal with distance .
3. FLEXIBILITY: My first year with him was the very first time I celebrated my birthday away from my real friends and family. I began to adjust my life around his schedule; I was ready for impromptu weekend getaways and little sacrifices of “can’t make it this week babes,I’ll love you to come”
4. GOOD TEAM: I have the most amazing friend, sister and parents ever, they knew I wasn’t gonna be available often. They were always willing to pack bags for travel.
5. HOBBY: I saw myself living just for him, and God of course so I began my violin classes again; so when he was away and I can’t talk to him, I just play.
6. CURIOSITY ABOUT HIS JOB: I began to expand my knowledge about his job and office. I read, I asked questions, I talked to his friends so when conversations came up, I had input in them.
7. CONFIDENCE: I got to realise he was used to getting whatever he wanted as long as he mentioned he was a pilot. My confidence level increased, I made him understand he had to work extra for me and I knew my worth.
8. RIVETING: I was a riveting person, I came to understand that he already had so much busy and boring time at work and being with me needed to give him a different form of exciting feeling to always look up to. I was crazy and willing to try out new things and was willing to switch to his kind of fun.
9. SPEECH THERAPY: I learnt to put words the best way ever, i learnt not to say,’do this’ but say ,’it would be nice if you do this.i learnt to speak less when upset.
Falmata Abubakar the mother of Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, granted her first media interview to VOA, saying she has not seen her son in 15 years.
The interview took placein the village of Shekau, Yobe state. The report published by VOA revealed that Mr Shekau’s late father was the Imam of the village Mosque before his death.
Ms Abubakar said she had no idea where her son was or his situation. “I don’t know whether he is dead or alive, only God knows, I have not seen him in the last 15 years,” she said.
She said Mr Shekau left the village for Maiduguri, the Borno state capital as a young boy in search of Islamic knowledge. She said he was an “almajiri boy” who walks around the streets of Maiduguri looking for food.
She said it was in the course of seeking Islamic knowledge that her son came into contact with the founder of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf. She said the late Boko Haram leader was the one who indoctrinated her son.
“I did not set my eyes on him since he came into contact with Mohammed Yusuf,” she said. “I know he is my son, and everyone knows a mother’s love for her son, but our attitude to life is different,” she said.
She also said “He has put so many people in serious difficulty, I pray that God guides him right”. Ms Falmata said she will not curse his son, saying “he has chosen a path different from the one we put him on, only God knows what he has become now”.
Mr Shekau took leadership of the group after the death of its founder, Mr Yusuf, who was killed in police custody.
Members of the The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries who have been heavily criticized by Nigerians in time past for their “aggressive” mode of publicity, were recently spotted in action again.
This time around, the church members were seen holding an ‘acrobatic’ form of publicity in Warri, Delta state as members displayed different characters including those who sat on the wet ground.
Here are some pictures showing how the publicity went down.
Proud Father, Femi Fani Kayode took to Instagram to share an adorable photo of triplets with Precious Chikwendu as they returned home today after 3 weeks in the hospital.
Ragnar, Aiden, and Liam were born on the morning of May 25 but they were cleared to return home today.
The one time Aviation Minister wrote
“My handsome boys came home today with my wife Precious their beautiful mother. My first son Aragorn was so excited to receive his brothers, Ragnar, Aiden and Liam home for the first time. I thank God for all and my gratitude goes to my friend and brother Dr. John Idahosa, his beautiful wife and their wonderful team at DIFF Hospital, Abuja for all the special love and care. God bless you all.”
A new mother who stayed for a month without taking a bath after giving birth has shared her reason for doing it.
Terry Loong, said she chose not to shower for 1 month because it helped her bond with her son.
The 40-year-old said it’s called postpartum confinement, a practice she says is common in Asian culture, where a new mother does not leave the house, have visitors or, in some cases, bathe for a month following delivery.
The reason behind this practice is that it helps protect both mum and baby from infections, gives the mother a chance to recover and recharge, and allows the two uninterrupted bonding time.
Aesthetic doctor Terry admitted she “did smell of bodily fluids” but she said she didn’t care. She believes it helped her bond with little Matthew, free of any distractions, while giving her body the rest it desperately needed.
Terry, who is of Malaysian heritage and lives in Harrow, north west London, said:
I remember my mum having a period of confinement when I was little. I’m the oldest of five so I saw it a lot.
It is common in Asian culture. Some of my Chinese friends here in London have done it too but adapted it to what works for them, picking different parts of it.
I don’t know many people that did it fully, like me. The biggest thing is that people couldn’t believe I hadn’t showered.
It wasn’t pretty, but it was important. If I had another baby, I would definitely do it again.
A man cooked his foot and served it to a group of friends at a dinner party after being forced to have it amputated.
The bizarre incident happened two years ago but came to light this week after the amputee told his story on Reddit.
Around two years ago, he was seriously hurt in a motorcycle accident and despite a battle, medics were forced to amputate his foot.
He then asked to keep it, and after completing some paperwork, he took it home.
On July 10th, 2016, just three weeks after the accident, he invited 11 open-minded friends to a special meal.
Ten showed up. He served them apple strudel, quiche puff pastries, fruit tarts and chocolate cake with gin lemonade punches and mimosas.
Then the main dish was his amputated foot which he named “Foot Taco”
Narrating, the man said:
So my friends and I always had this joke, If you could try human flesh in an ethical and healthy way, would you. And we always said of course. Well the opportunity came up and I called them on it. Originally I wanted to have [my foot] taxidermied or freeze-dried. How cool would it be to have my freeze-dried or taxidermied foot standing around the house as a lamp or a doorstop or something?
All of this came out of the idea that it’s my foot.
It’s not going to be cremated and chucked into a landfill. It’s a part of me, and I want it back. Most hospitals have policies where they will release your body parts to you because of some religions where you have to be buried whole, so I just signed the paperwork.
My mom, who was helping me get back on my feet, so to speak, drove me back to pick it up.‘She doesn’t know I ate it, though. I went inside and the hospital gave me my foot in a red plastic biowaste bag. I brought it to the car and immediately put it in a cooler. It was pretty bizarre. I got back to my place and I froze it. I couldn’t find a taxidermist who would take me seriously and freeze-drying was too expensive. It would have been $1,200 (£900) to freeze dry the thing. If I had the money I would have done it.
Eventually, I decided to cast it in plaster to use as a doorstop, then capture a 3D rendering so I can make little keychains. When we got back to my house, I took the foot out, and it was so gross, man. It was covered in blood and had iodine all over it. After I cleaned it off, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-preserved it was.
Before we cast it, I quickly took a knife from my kitchen and cut a chunk off the top of my shin. The skin was already kind of off from the surgery, leaving a big chunk of muscle exposed. I just took the muscle. I put it in a plastic bag and put it in my freezer.
I invited 11 people. I said something like, ‘Remember how we always talked about how, if we ever had the chance to ethically eat human meat, would you do it? Well, I’m calling you on that. We doing this or what?’
Ten said yes. I guess we’re a weird group. The foot was the marinated overnight and sauteed it with onions, peppers, salt, pepper, and lime juice. It was later served on corn tortillas with a tomato sauce. People think it tastes like pork because in movies we hear it called “long pig.” But that term originated in places like Papua New Guinea, where they eat wild boar.
This particular cut was super beefy. It had a very pronounced, beefy flavor to it. The muscle I cut was tough and chewy. It tasted good, but the experience wasn’t the best.
Rating the meal a solid 6.5 out of 10, he added:
It tasted like buffalo, but chewier. Super beefy and little fat. It’s way better than a hot dog or regular burger. Maybe equal with regular bacon, which is pretty decent. But nowhere near as good as butter seared sea scallops or a rare tenderloin seared in oil in a cast iron pan.

A lady took a photo of the dress above to her Nigerian tailor, she asked for a replica of the dress but what she got will leave you shocked.
She stated she didn’t understand why Nigerian tailors refuse to say no when a client asks if they can perfectly make a design..
See the tailor’s handiwork below:
In regards to her question, many Nigerian tailors who confirm that they can make a particular design might do so because they actually believe they can and want to give it a try.
Others, however, just say yes because they want to make money from delivering the service. These tailors are in the majority category and they have given really bad names to good fashion designers.

Russia has denied Nigeria’s football fans the opportunity to bring live chickens into the stadium when the Super Eagles are playing.
As reported by Russia’s Interfax.ru, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad region, Andrei Ermak told reporters ;
“Our information center MCH-2018 receives a lot of various questions: fans from Nigeria asked if it’s possible to go to the stadium with a chicken, it’s their symbol, the citizens are sick with them at all matches, we told them that to pass a live chicken, in any case, it is impossible “.
At the same time, he noted that if the Nigerians are rooting for their team in other places, “we will, of course, advise them where the chicken can be bought.”
We are ready to satisfy the most eccentric inquiries,” the regional minister added.
The supporters club of the Super Eagles have been known to go into stadiums with a live chicken, which is one of the ways they cheer on the team to victory.
Recall Super Eagles Fans were turned away from Ellis Park in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2010 after their demand to take chickens, painted in the nation’s colours into the stadium was refused
Controversial Ghanaian pastor and founder of the International Godsway Church, Daniel Obinim, has said in an interview that tithe is too small for him.
According to him, every pastor has his own way of making money. For him, his own money comes from the people he helps because they reward him in return.
The clergyman said:
“Just last week, some couple came to the church to give a testimony that, they have never given birth and they planned to do an artificial insemination which could have cost them almost 60,000 dollars. But I told them to stop and I will help them to give birth which I did.”
“So after that, they came back to the church to give me 20,000 cedis for helping them give birth. And right in the church, he gave me that sum of money in a polythene bag to the witness of the church members.”
“Some even buy cars for me. So the money comes from the help I give to people and in return, they also give me money or help me as well. The tithe is too small, as for tithe, no..it is too small.”

Still on the World Cup fever, there is nothing one would not see on the streets of Lagos, Nigeria.
It seemed like a partnership made in heaven when Nike released the official world cup kits for the Super Eagles National team squad, and weeks after the release (and Nike also stating it had run out of stock), the beautiful Kit has not stopped trooping into Nigeria and commercial jersey sellers have surely been cashing out.
The only point to note here is that the Authentic Nike Made Jersey had a price tag of N41,000+, a price which Nigerians were not so happy with and it prompted the entrepreneurs from Thailand and our very own Aba to make their version of the Original Jersey.
Now there is a photo which is going viral on social media and it shows a man selling the Jersey in a Lagos traffic. (Lol)
The twitter user @Uncle_Ajala who shared the photo wrote ;
They’re now hawking Nigeria Super Eagles Jersey, like Gala and Lacasera in Lagos traffic. This is Nigeria.

‘Everything seems to indicate that the fall happened when they were probably trying to take a selfie. ‘It seems they dropped their mobile phone and fell down while leaning over to retrieve it.
‘Since we found a mobile phone on the wall, everything suggests the victims might have been taking a selfie, when they allowed the phone to fall, leaned to grab it and fell.’

“And then sometimes, when I finish selling, I go to do a quick one for myself. I go for wiping glass of cars, cleaning and If I see I’m not making money, I can quickly go to buy pure water and start selling there.
Asides the selling of foodstuffs Ndidi did other jobs while hawking in traffic and revealed that it was to purchase a new pair of boots.
He said, “My best, I would say was making N3000. I finished selling so quick. I went to do the wiping thing for myself, just four different things I did in a day.

Being a typical Nigerian, Chioma decided to answer the question with her own question;
