Wrestling couple, John Cena and Nikki Bella break up; end their engagement after 6 years together.

Wrestling champion, John Cena, 40, and Nikki Bella, 34, have broken off their engagement and putting an end to their 6 years relationship leaving their fans in total shock.

The wrestlers who got engaged a year ago at the Wrestlemania 33 revealed their separation to US Weekly.

“While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another,” the couple told US in a statement. “We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”

Cena and Bella have been dating since 2012 and have been engaged for 1 year. Cena’s proposal to Bella was a rather romantic and unique one – he proposed immediately after he and Bella defeated married wrestlers, Miz and Maryse in a tag team match in the ring. After the win, Cena grabbed the mic, went on one knee and proposed.

The pair were last spotted in public together at Wrestlemania 34 on Sunday, April 8. On Saturday, April 14, the Blockers star posted an Instagram photo of a quote from Walt Whitman that read, “We were together. I forget the rest.

Last month, Cena spoke with Us Weekly about their relationship, admitting that it takes a lot of work.

He said:

“Relationships are hard. Don’t ever think that love is easy. Love is beautiful, but we’ve had to come to the realization after being together for five years that love is not easy.

“We work every day on us. We have our problems just like everybody else. Some of our problems are very public, some of them aren’t. But we work every day on us. Anytime I get upset, I always just realize that I can’t live without her and I love her and that’s why I cave in on a lot of stuff.”

He continued:

“It takes being able to mesh two lives. I would never ever want Nicole to be in a position where she says, ‘I’m holding you back from doing this because I feel it’s wrong for us.’ And I would never say that to her. That’s why she’s super busy and sometimes we don’t see each other for months at a time, but when we do see each other, it’s our time together. I think, for now at least, that is certainly what’s making this work.”

Nigerians now enjoy better electricity than in the past – Babatunde Fashola

Fashola

Babatunde Fashola the Minister of Power, Works and Housing has said that Nigerians currently enjoy better electricity supply than what was obtainable in the past.

He said that was the feedback he has gotten so far from the consumers.

He disclosed this at the April 2018 edition of the monthly power sector operators meeting in Umuahia, Abia State.

He said right thinking Nigerians have revealed to him that they now spend less amount of money to power their alternative source of electricity and enjoy a good quantity from the National grid.

”We are on a journey to a destination of promise and eventual prosperity and I use this occasion to salute the efforts and contributions of all those who have brought us this far.

“Even if those who were most vocal in condemnation when the situation appeared very dire are now uttering some muted acknowledgment that it has improved, we must continue to draw inspiration from well-meaning and right thinking Nigerians who were gracious enough to publicly acknowledge that they are saving some money from diesel  and the money they used to spend for generators; they are running their generators for fewer hours; and they are getting comparably more power than before.

“It is because of those gracious and well-meaning and right thinking Nigerians that we must dig deeper, work harder and be more determined to improve service delivery” he said.

“How Wande Coal dumped me and abducted my son” – Baby mama alleges.

Nigerian singer, Wande Ojosipe better known as Wande Coal, has been accused by his baby mama of dumping her after she gave birth to their baby.

She also alleges that the singer abducted their baby for 8 years – the singer had kept this part of his life private from his fans as not so much of his fans knew he had a child until he made it public in 2015.

The singer, while talking with Ehiz on MTV Base Real Talk, opened up for the first time about his then 7-year-old son, who he knew existed while the lad was still a toddler.

His babymama, Temitope Ogunnusi has however, in a new interview with NewsmakersNG, revealed that the singer impregnated her while she was just 16 years of age and immediately after the birth of the baby, the baby was taken away from her.

According to her, she met the popular former Mavin’s artiste at Jubilee Estate, near Otedola Estate, Lagos in 2008.

Temitope disclosed in the interview, that their love grew stronger by the day until when she told the singer that she was pregnant, which he didn’t take so well and immediately rejected the pregnancy on the stance that it would destroy his career as a budding artiste then.

“Do you want to kill my career?” he allegedly asked Temitope.

Temitope however mentioned that other artistes close to wande were aware of the situation. She said:

“Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’Banj knew all that happened. He was close to Wande Coal, and he was the person I first complained to when the pregnancy was rejected. D’Banj was shocked. He said ‘No, Wande cannot deny this.”

But then, the news of Joseph’s birth filtered to Wande Coal and his parents – his mother, Mrs. Omolara Oluwayemisi Ojosipe, arranged to see the baby, and she was allegedly amazed at the resemblance.

That was in 2010, when Joseph was just one and a half years old. Shortly after that, Wande Coal’s parents allegedly arranged for a DNA test to be done on Joseph. The result came out positive, giving them a 100 per cent assurance that Joseph was actually their grandson.

According to Temitope, Mrs. Ojosipe must have decided to have their grandson in their custody when she visited Temitope’s mother afterwards.

One morning, she went to the market, bought some food stuffs which she took to Temitope’s mother. Mrs Ojosipe told the unsuspecting woman (Temitope’s mum) that she wanted her grandson to spend some time with her, with a promise to take care of him.

Temitope woke up one Saturday morning, full of expectation that she would be reunited with the father of her son. With the invitation she had received, she packed clothes that would last a few days for herself and her son.

They were actually well received and she eagerly waited for Wande’s arrival that weekend. Then his call came and Wande’s mom talked with him on phone. When it seemed the call would soon end, Temitope moved nearer just to indicate her interest in speaking to him.

This must have infuriated Wande’s mother, who got up, moved to her room, dragged Joseph with her, and said, “speak to your son,” as she entered the room with the child.

Then, she slammed the door behind her and shut Temitope out.

Temitope said Mrs Ojosipe told her: “My son cannot marry a low class woman.”
Unknown to Temitope, there were more surprises in store for her.

Since 2010, Joseph has been in the custody of Wande Coal’s mum and Wande Coal had publicly admitted the paternity of the child. He was said to have released Joseph’s picture when the boy marked his birthday on June 20, 2015.

Now, Temitope said she had spent the last eight years waking up in tears and pain in her heart.

“Please just let me see my son,” she begged during this interview. “He’s the only one I’ve got.”

NewsmakersNG however say they’ve not been able to reach out to Wande Coal for him to speak on the issue as he has rendered himself incommunicado.

Why we haven’t paraded Alizee’s killer husband – Police

Alizee killer husband

Alizee killer husband

The Nigeria police force has explained why they have not paraded the husband and murderer of the late fast rising Nigerian songstress, Alizee and her daughter.

According to them, they are following the due process all because the man is not a Nigerian.

Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal yesterday suggested that there were attempts by the suspect to cover up his crime, which forensic experts traced with the use of special chemical reagents.

He said:

“The autopsy revealed that Mrs Zaynab Nielsen suffered trauma as a result of the impact on her head. Secondly, forensic experts revealed that there were blood stains from the couple’s bedroom to the kitchen.

Though it was cleverly wiped from the floor, the experts were still able to detect it with the application of special chemical reagents. In addition, blood stains were also discovered on the wash hand basins and on the hand towel the suspect used in wiping his hands after the commission of the offence. Although it was cleverly cleaned up as well, the experts were able to discover that too.”

He also expressed that the Danish embassy was cooperating with them and they have provided legal representation for the suspect.

“I spoke personally with the ambassador apart from the official correspondence. They also arranged for counsel for their citizen so they are following the process very closely. We did not parade the suspect for obvious reasons. Do not forget he’s not a Nigerian and so, there are diplomatic connotations.

“This is a man being accused of first degree murder. So, it would have been wrong for the police who are going to prosecute him, to also begin to parade him before such prosecution.

However, he was charged to an open court. We are concerned with ensuring that he is diligently prosecuted and justice is done.”

UNILORIN used Obasanjo’s open letter to Buhari to set exam question for its Mass Comm 100L students

Obasanjo's open letter

Obasanjo open letter

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo wrote President Muhammadu Buhari an explosive open letter earlier this year.

This letter sparked controversy in the entire nation.

Now the open letter has been used as part of a question to be answered by 100 level Mass Communication students of the University of Ilorin.

See the question below…

In the open letter titled “THE WAY OUT: A CLARION CALL FOR COALITION FOR NIGERIA MOVEMENT,” Obasanjo raised some issues of national importance.

Below are top fifteen things he said in his letter to President Buhari:

1. Obasanjo acknowledged he knew that President Buhari “is weak in the knowledge and understanding of the economy.” He added: “Although, I know that you cannot give what you don’t have and that economy does not obey military order. You have to give it what it takes in the short-, medium- and long-term.”

2. He said President Buhari is weak “in understanding and playing in the foreign affairs sector.”

3. He asked Buhari to stop condoning corruption among some inner caucus of the Presidency. “Culture of condonation and turning blind eye will cover up rather than clean up. And going to justice must be with clean hands,” Obasanjo urged the President.

4. He acknowledged President Buhari’s achievement in the fight against insurgency “although it is not yet uhuru!”

5. He accused the Buhari-led federal government of wittingly or unwittingly allowing the herdsmen/crop farmers’ crisis “to turn sour and messy.” He said: “It is no credit to the Federal Government that the herdsmen rampage continues with careless abandon and without finding an effective solution to it.”

6. He accused some Governors, who endorsed President Buhari for a second term a day after 73 victims (of herdsmen attacks) were being buried in a mass grave in Benue State without condolence, of being insensitive and callous.

7. He said the issue of herdsmen/crop farmers’ dichotomy should not be left on the political platform of blame-game and charged the Federal Government to take the lead in bringing about solution that protects life and properties of herdsmen and crop farmers alike and for them to live amicably in the same community.

8. He also accused President Buhari of “nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court,” with special reference to Mainagate.

9. He said President Buhari’s “poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics” has affected general national security, thus “wittingly or unwittingly making the nation more divided” and widened the inequality gap.

10. He accused the Buhari-led government of buck-passing.

“For instance, blaming the Governor of the Central Bank for devaluation of the Naira by 70% or so and blaming past governments for it, is to say the least, not accepting one’s own responsibility. Let nobody deceive us, economy feeds on politics and because our politics is depressing, our economy is even more depressing today. If things were good, President Buhari would not need to come in. He was voted to fix things that were bad and not engage in the blame game,” he said.

11. He advised President Buhari not to “over-push his luck or over-tax the patience and tolerance of Nigerians.”

12. He urged President Buhari to honourably “dismount from the horse.”

“He needs to have time to reflect, refurbish physically and recoup and after appropriate rest, once again, join the stock of Nigerian leaders whose experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country,” Obasanjo counselled.

13. He said the opposition party has shown no better promise from their antecedents. “As the leader of that Party for eight years as President of Nigeria, I can categorically say there is nothing to write home about in their new team.”

14. He canvassed for the creation of a Coalition for Nigeria (CN) Movement which will consist of people who are concerned and willingly-ready for positive and drastic change, progress and involvement “that will give hope and future to all our youth and dignity and full participation to all our women.”

15. He charged Nigerians “to do the extra-ordinary things of changing the course and direction of our lacklustre performance and development” as a nation.

“If leadership fails, citizens must not fail and there lies the beauty and importance of democracy. We are challenged by the current situation; we must neither adopt spirit of cowardice nor timidity let alone impotence but must be sustained by courage, determination and commitment to say and do and to persist until we achieve upliftment for Nigeria,” he urged.

Meanwhile some Nigerians have started selling the letter in public

Gbenga Daniel’s eldest son recounts how they were brought up, plans to marry Jamaican lover

Gbenga Daniel's eldest son

Gbenga Daniel’s eldest son Adebola Irede Daniel became paraplegic at the age of 5, but he didn’t let this deter him.

In 2017, he bagged a Master’s degree with Distinction in Mechanical Engineering from the University College, London (UCL).

Debola bagged a Bsc degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Surrey and went on to UCL for his Masters programme.

He is one of the most efficient automotive drivers.

One of his posts sometime in 2017 reads:

“I was born into a very comfortable home, with both amazing parents and without a disability.

“However, when I turned 5, I was diagnosed with Paraplegia – a rare condition with no medical clarity. I became confined to a wheel chair.

“Growing up in Nigeria, I unconsciously associated disability to poverty and crime, to amputated beggars on the streets mostly as a result of Sharia Law subscribed to in the North. T

“That was the general opinion of most Nigerians in my social circle as a child.

“Having myself become physically challenged, I was exposed to the stigma and assumptions that came with being ‘disabled’ all of a sudden,

“I was looked at with pity, with judgment and sometimes with resentment by my fellow country men.

“As I became an adult, I began to realize that the onus was on me to make something of myself and create my life and future the way I envisioned it.

“My future is, and would always be in my own hands”.

He also mentioned preparations are in top gear to officially engage his Jamaican lover, Natasa Morrison.

Debola recently spoke with City People’s Assistant Editor, SUNDAY ADIGUN, on his life, his father and how he is set to engage his lover next year.

Excerpts from the interview below:

Tell me about your life as OGD’s son?
It’s a normal life, there is nothing special about it, we go to school and finished like everyone else, Daddy has always raised us in a way to make sure that we don’t think of ourselves being better than anyone else. We are the same as everyone else, we are first and foremost an individual before any tags, so it’s a normal life, and thanks to our parents.

Tell me about your girlfriend?
My fiancee is amazing, she is wonderful, she would be surprised soon. She doesn’t know it coming, but it’s coming soon, hopefully about this time next year we would be celebrating it big.

What can you say about Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s political aspiration?
I always say to him to do what he thinks is right, Daddy never gets involved in anything unless he believes in it, and once he believes in it I also believe in him, it’s as simple as that.

If he wants to push further, we are behind him. If he thinks he is tired, we are behind him. Whatever it is we will always support him.

When your dad was in power, where were you and what role did you play?
At the time when he was in power, I was in secondary school and not in Nigeria, so I experienced it from a distance, having that kind of position in power is very inspiring when you have a parent who can network and talk to the powers that are ruling the country, it opens a lot of doors for one to be sincere, it was a humble experience.

south beds news agency-luton-(fairleys) From: Fairley of Luton South Beds News Agency/Fairley of Luton Tel: 01582 572222 Email: southbedsnews@btconnect.com 16 4 2018 WE HAVE ASKED BEDFORDSHIRE POLICE FOR A PICTURE OF THE DEFENDANT TO GO WITH THIS STORY. THE PROSECUTION ASKED FOR THE NAME OF THE VICTIM TO BE LEFT OUT OF THE COPY AS HE HE IS PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE. FOR THAT REASON WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE OUT THE FULL ADDRESS AND SAY THAT THE OFFENCES HAPPENED AT THE COUPLE’S HOME IN THE VILLAGE OF STEWARTBY, BEDS. A woman who made her partner’s life a misery with her violence which included scalding him with boiling water and stabbing him been jailed for seven-and-a-half-years. She banned him from their bed, kept food from him, decided what clothes he could wear, isolated him from friends and family and even took over his Facebook account. Luton crown court was told there were two sides to 22 year old Jordan Worth. She came from a loving and supportive family and at school had been a high performer, gymnast and coach. At the University of Hertfordshire she gained a 2:1 Honours Degree in Fine Arts and wanted to become a teacher. She had been involved in caring and voluntary work for unwanted animals and had raised money children in Africa But at their home in the village of Stewartby in Bedfordshire, petite Worth cruelly controlled every aspect of her partner’s life. She appeared at court on Friday (13/4) to plead guilty to controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship, wounding with intent and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The court heard Worth and her partner had met at college in 2012 when they were both 16. A relationship began and later they moved in together but, said prosecutor Maryam Syed, from an early stage she was exercising control over him deciding what he could wear. But worse was to come the court was told as she became violent towards the man, who the court heard suffered from hydrocephalus which is caused by a buildup of fluid inside the skull which made him vulnerable. She used blunt objects to strike him, wounded him with a knife and didn’t help him get to hospital for treatment. For nine months he couldn’t sleep in the same bed as her, the court was told. Judge Nic Madge hearing the case was told the charge of controlling or coercive behaviour covered a period from April of 2016 to June of last year when police were called to the couple’s home in Stewartby. Neighbours of the couple often heard them arguing said Miss Syed and the sounds of things being thrown in the house. She said the victim was heard by his neighbours shouting at Worth: “Get off me, you are hurting me” He was seen on occasions with black eyes and to be limping and with his arm in sling. Once Worth was seen at window by a neighbour “armed” with a screwdriver or hammer, the court was told. Another neighbour heard the victim shouting “Get off me. Get off my head. Don’t keep doing that to my head.” She saw burn marks on his arms which he explained away as self-inflicted. The court heard it was in June of last year that neighbours called police to the couple’s home in the village in the early hours after hearing shouting. The ambulance crew noted injuries to his hand, burns to arms and legs which were being self treated with cling film. There was cling film round his ankles, and a hand wound that was bleeding. He was taken to Bedford Hospital’s acute clinical unit and then to Addenbrookes Hospital. The prosecutor said he had second and third degree burns which will leave permanent scarring. She went on “Five per cent of his total body surface was scalded.” The court was told Worth had thrown boiling hot water over her partner. On 6 June he was examined at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and found to have burns on his legs as well as stab wounds about his body and limbs. Days later Worth was arrested. The court heard the couple are no longer together and Worth, who is in a new relationship, has been living at an address in Lynn Road, Ingoldisthorpe, Norfolk. Passing sentence Judge Madge told Worth that as well as the violence she had carried out on her partner she had refused him adequate bedding and food. He said she would “belittle” her partner and discouraged him from contacting friends and his family. “She accepts that she has in the past, on a number of occasions, used blunt objects and implements to strike him and that he suffered injuries as a result of her doing so. She accepts using boiling or hot water to cause injury to him. She accepts that she has in the past used a knife to cause injury to her partner, “ said the judge. He said Worth had not allowed him to sleep in the same bed as her for 9 months. The judge said “He suffered from hydrocephalus and had a vulnerable head and he became increasingly isolated. You took over his Facebook profile. There were daily arguments with items being thrown in house.” Judge Madge said “Custody is inevitable.” He jailed her for a total of seven-and-a-half years. She was made the subject of a restraining order which prevents her from contacting her ex for an indefinite period. Ends

Abusive girlfriend

A controlling and abusive girlfriend who put her boyfriend through the worst ever by assaulting him, depriving him of food, and banning him from their bed, has been jailed.

Jordan Worth, 22, was handed a seven-and-a-half-year sentence at Luton Crown Court on Friday after she admitted to carrying out several cruel acts against her ex-boyfriend. The college sweethearts had started dating in 2012 when they were both teenagers, 16, but there were worrying signs from the beginning, the court heard.

The court heard how Jordan, a university graduate, scalded her boyfriend with boiling water and stabbed him at their home in the village of Stewartby, in Bedfordshire, England. The boyfriend suffered from hydrocephalus that was caused by a build-up of fluid inside the skull and made him vulnerable.

In addition to the violence, Jordan also decided what clothes her boyfriend was allowed to wear. It was also reported that she did not let him sleep in their bed for nine months and also took over his Facebook account. It got worse when she began using objects to strike him, wounding him with a knife and then failing to get him any medical help.

The campaign of abuse ended in June when neighbours called police to the couple’s home in the early hours after hearing shouting. The ambulance crew noted injuries to his hand, burns to arms and legs that were being self-treated with cling film. There was also cling film round his ankles, and a hand wound that was bleeding.

The boyfriend was immediately taken to the hospital where it was discovered he had second and third degree burns that left permanent scarring and “5% of his total body surface was scalded.”

Neighbours added they had often heard the couple arguing and the victim was seen on occasions with black eyes, a limp, and with his arm in sling.

A neighbor told how Jordan was once seen at a window “armed” with a screwdriver or hammer. Jordan was later arrested and admitted charges of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship, wounding with intent and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The court heard Jordan, who is now in a new relationship, had two sides and came from a loving and supportive family and had previously carried out voluntary work. She was made the subject of a restraining order which prevents her from contacting her ex for an indefinite period. Jordan had discouraged her former partner from contacting his family during the abusive relationship.

Judge Nic Madge said:

“She accepts that she has in the past, on a number of occasions, used blunt objects and implements to strike him and that he suffered injuries as a result of her doing so. She accepts using boiling or hot water to cause injury to him.”

Uadiale, worked for Vole in Seattle since 2014, according to his LinkedIn page. Florida investigators say that between October 2012 and March 2013, Uadiale worked with a UK citizen going online by the handle K!NG. .

K!NG would distribute and infect victims with the Reveton ransomware, while Uadiale would collect payments and send the cash to K!NG, in the UK.

Uadiale is accused of sending money from the US to the UK.

The Reveton ransomware is one of the first screen-locking ransomware strains. Reveton operators asked victims to buy GreenDot MoneyPak vouchers, take the code on the voucher and enter it in the Reveton screen locker. .

After a computer was infected with Reveton ransomware, the screen would lock and a fake message purportedly from the FBI or other law enforcement agency would claim the user had violated federal law; viewing and/or distributing porn was often cited as the law which was violated.

The user was informed that a fine had to be paid to unlock their PC. The FBI regarded Reveton ransomware as “new” back in August 2012.

The use of the FBI logo was so popular with this ransomware that some people referred to it as FBI ransomware.

K!NG would deposit victims’ GreenDot Mon eyPak payments into debit cards Uadiale acquired under the fake name of Mike Roland. Uadiale allegedly laundered over $130,000.

He would later convert these funds into the Liberty Reserve digital currency and send the proceeds to his UK partner, keeping 30% of the funds, part of his cut. .

If found guilty on all charges, he risks a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $500,000, and up to three years of supervised release. Uadiale has been set free on a $100,000 bond.

BBNaija Day 78 highlights

If you missed Day 78 of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, we’ve got the highlights for you!

..

An Electric After-Party

Tobi, Alex, Miracle, Cee-C and Nina found themselves to be the lucky few who had survived the final Eviction that saw Khloe, Anto and Lolu leave the Double Wahala House. Emotions were at the peak tonight as Nina and Alex couldn’t hold their tears back – overpowering rivers of joy mixed with disbelief and gratitude at having been Saved.

In Line for The Prize

Upon realising they were heading for the Finale, Tobi, Miracle, Nina and Alex gathered around a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate their victory. They had barely started pouring the bubbly that Cee-C walked back through the doors, to her peers incredulous faces. Cee-C had come back fronting an inscrutable face nonetheless exuding a certain arrogance as she seemed to take delight in the disappointment her return had caused. Expectedly, she retreated to the garden area to savor her fate while talking to her fans and praying for strength.

Spiking Fever

Yet Biggie had more surprises for the shrunken House, as one by one, video messages recorded by friends and family emerged on the screen. In the lounge, Tobi, Miracle, Cee-C, Nina and Alex were overwhelmed to see and hear messages from their loved ones. As Nina and Alex cried their eyes out, Tobi, Miracle and Cee-C jumped for joy elated as they were by such unexpected encouragements.

Nina Reigns once More

The remaining Big Brother Housemates have unanimously chosen Nina as the new Head of House for the final week.

Unlike going into the Arena and playing a game of chance that eventually crowns the HOH, Biggie asked the Housemates to choose from either a Housemates who’s had the least opportunity or the one who has the most experience in heading the House.

Cee-C, who’s never had the opportunity to be HOH missed out on the opportunity when they decided to vote on it. Even though Miracle had put her name up, trying to be fair towards everyone, Alex disputed it and suggested it be put to a vote.

Alex’ reason for going against Cee-C were that she doesn’t ‘want drama’ in the house and ironically, Cee-C let the issue go to rest.

Heading The House

The Housemates joked about the Head of House duties saying it’s to change batteries but for someone who hasn’t experienced it, it would have been a chance.

However, the decision came and Nina graciously accepted the title and life in the House went back to how it was, where Alex and Tobi were laying down in the upstairs executive suite while Nina and Miracle on the other beds downstairs.

Cee-C on the other hand, who’s somehow been isolated from the rest, also went her separate way.

Roles in Motion

The Housemates lost their wager yesterday but Big Brother has given them an opportunity to avoid starvation in their final week in the House.

Each day will produce a different challenge and unlike previously, the rewards will not be in the form of BBNairas or shopping privileges but will be whatever Biggie feels they deserve.

Their performances in the challenge will determine if they deserve a reward or not and today they’ve started with a role playing task.

Characters in Motion

The Housemates were given a mystery hat to pick out names of the people they’d be impersonating and at the sound of the buzzer were required to start their roles.

Miracle picked out Joseph Yobo and has been with the ball since while Nina, Alex and Tobi had to impersonate other evicted Housemates.

In the first round, Nina had to impersonate Dee-One, Tobi had to pull an Ifu Ennada which he mimicked from the accent to the walk while Alex had to imitate her former rival, Khloe.

Cee-C on the other hand refused to let others know of who she had picked and after a while asking her she decided to just be quite and make herself something to eat.

However, Biggie clearly stated in the Brief that during the period of the challenge, Housemates were not allowed to be quite at any time for more than five minutes. Additionally, the brief also made it clear that Housemates are not allowed to have an alone time nor is sleeping permitted.

The task is supposed to bring the unity in the House and Housemates are required to work together.

What’s Cee-C to do now?

With only six days to go before the eagerly anticipated Big Brother Naija Finale, our Housemates are feeling the heat. One Housemates in particular, seems to be feeling it more than the others.

Since Day 1, Cee-C has clashed with a number of her fellow Housemates and now the chickens are coming home to roost. From fiery fights over food, to full on fall-outs with love interests, Cee-C’s journey has been as colorful as they come – and as the numbers have continued to dwindle courtesy of Evictions week after week, so have her allies.

Last night, Lolu, Anto and Khloe were given the boot, leaving Cee-C to “roll solo”. As soon as she walked back into the House after the Eviction Show last night, Nina, Miracle, Alex and Tobi looked shell-shocked, possibly because they thought she had been sent packing (which off course isn’t the case) – and just like that, the stage was set for awkward interactions.

Sharing the House with the biggest alliance of the season, plus Nina will not be easy. It’s no secret that Alex and Tobi are joined at the hip. On any given day, you will find them whispering in bed and laughing up a storm. Tobi and Cee-C were the first romantic alliance of the season, but unfortunately when that relationship disintegrated, it imploded with such force, a friendship was totally out of the question. Despite many attempts to make peace, Tobi and Cee-C remain estranged.

Miracle and Nina on the other hand, are always wrapped up in each other, so any chance of third wheeling is out of the question. Even though the two lovebirds are friendly towards her, most of their free time is without a doubt spent with Alex and Tobi.

When Sleep Cupid Strikes

As the number in the Big Brother House has reduced and it’s down to the final stretch, the Housemates’ entertainment span has also reduced.

More than anything, what they seem to like doing most is sleeping even though there’s a task given to them. Although it’s nothing new, with the friendships and closeness they have, one wouldn’t think they’d run out of things to do.

Cook, Breath, Sleep

Even though the finalist have built solid relationships with each other, except for Cee-C who’s somehow isolated herself from the rest, sleep seems to have taken over.

And though one would imagine the House as the perfect setup for friends, what’s one to do in between the buzzer sounds?

Khloe made a promise when she was still in the House but failed at it dismally, because the midday nap became a norm.

Even after Alex’ vow that there would never be any Housemates who sleeps while she’s still in the House, she’s also failed and instead joined in the sleeping routine

Talking Helps

For a moment after yesterday’s Eviction, Miracle, Nina, Alex and Tobi were on cloud nine when they believed they were the only Housemates left. To their surprise, Cee-C walked through and the mood quickly changed.

However, if they would use the time they have in ironing all the issues that have caused divisions, they wouldn’t spend it sleeping.

On the other hand, when pride is involved, sleeping is a good escape mechanism.

The Stinging Veto Power

Regardless of the Finale, it looks like Alex and Cee-C are not ready to bulge an inch from their longstanding rancour. As the last five Housemates standing in the Double Wahala House, and given all had taken a turn in the Head of House Chair, it was suggested that Cee-C be given the chance, at last, to endorse the coveted role.

Let’s Meet Outside

While suggestions for her appointment were made in a rather casual way, Alex had no intention to keep her feelings under wraps. She requested the House passed a Vote and indicated her opposition to Cee-C’s becoming the last Head of House. If there’s one thing Alex can be counted on, it is to tell it like it is, without sugar-coating it, and today was no different. She had earlier confessed to Tobi wanting to slap Cee-C to rest her brain but the possibility of Biggie issuing her with a Strike prevented her from doing so.

Imminent Eruption

Cee-C on her end is not entirely blameless to say the least. From the start of the game, she had made no attempt at hiding her contempt for Alex – and if prompted to, Cee-C’s eyelashes could even testify in Alex’s favour. Judging by the constant frown on her face since Cee-C’s surprise return to the House following the last Eviction Show, Cee-C has a lot of emotions bottled up about Alex too. However with no shoulder to lean on in the House, Cee-C has had to refrain from airing them.

For the Sake of Peace

By general consensus, and for the sake of peace, Nina stepped into the Head of House role with gusto for the very last time. The run-up to the Finale has suddenly taken a more torturous meaning altogether. Biggie decided to intervene and set the Housemates straight about Cee-C, the Housemate with the least Head of House record should be the new leader. Against all odds, Cee-C was imposed upon the House, to everyone’s bitter surprise.

Do you think Alex and Cee-C will settle their scores off-camera, after the Show?

All Shocked & Surprised

Alex, Cee-C, Miracle, Nina and Tobi had just enough time to catch their breath following a series of unpredictable events that Biggie asked them if they had in any way, shape or sense anticipated the concentrated can of Double Wahala that had opened up.

The Writings on the Wall

For Miracle, nothing had prepared him to live the Eviction of three Housemates at once, especially since the Reset had returned Anto and Khloe to the House. According to Nina and Tobi, there were clues in the air about everyone except Lolu, whose exit was totally unexpected. Just this once, Cee-C concurred with her peers about Lolu, and added that she hadn’t seen any of the sensational events coming, especially given how she had been made to stay in the Arena fearing for her own fate. To make it worse, Cee-C didn’t even expect her own return in the House.

A Sour Touch

Yet Alex didn’t hide that she was just deeply irritated to see Cee-C back, as she would have preferred Anto who had much less drama to manage especially at such a crucial time of the game. Even Miracle seemed to be at the end of his tethers when he stated that they popped drinks at four and suddenly became five Housemates again. Somehow Nina and Tobi barely mentioned Cee-C’s return, focused as they were on sending love to viewers and Evicted Housemates. But Cee-C exulted at the memory of her surprise come-back, as she called the look on her peers’ faces ‘priceless’, a stare that she believed meant she was the girl who had refused to die.

Yahoo boy kidnaps his boss

“Eze Douglas Uchenna”, an internet fraudster has been arrested for kidnapping his boss, Alvin Onuoha, for sidelining him on a $30,000 deal,

Eze, a native of Imo State, was reportedly paraded yesterday alongside his alleged accomplice, Vincent Uchenna by the Lagos State Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal.

The Police Commissioner said the suspects and four others at large, committed the offence around 5:20pm, on April 6, at Ajah. He said the suspects bundled Onuoha into a Toyota Camry saloon car, while he was about entering their compound.

Edgal said: “Two of the suspects were arrested when they went to collect the N200,000 ransom they demanded for the victim’s release.”

However, Eze said they only wanted to get his money from his boss, who was in the habit of denying him his share of their loots from swindling.

He said: “We were into internet fraud and he said whenever we made money, it would be shared on 60/40%. I agreed and brought businesses to him but each time money came out, he would deny me my 40%

The first one we did together, we made $4,300. Instead of giving me my share, he gave me N300, 000. I still stayed with him and kept bringing my jobs to him. I finished another work and handed over the details to him so he can follow up with payment.

The work paid $30,000 but he kept telling me they haven’t pay. So, one of the guys who used to live with us in my boss’ room called me from Philippines and told me that my work had paid and that I was a rich man now.

I went to my boss and asked him how far with the payment and he said nothing for me. That I was in place to learn work and not to collect money. They started treating me somehow and since I was afraid for my life, I left the house in October last year.

I slept inside tricycle for months until I met my friend, Vincent and he introduced me to his friend, Matthew, who helped us in getting his soldier friend and some other boys to pick the man up.”

Fake brewery: We produce Gin, not Stout, Malt – Suspects

fake brewery

Fake brewery

Last Wednesday, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, led a team of policemen to a factory at Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, where a brewery was discovered. At least five suspects were arrested in connection with the crime. Yesterday, the five suspects, Otiko Onoriode (30), Otiko Ogheneovo (39), Esiekpe Benson (28), Diakpmerere Emmanuel (32) and Mrs. Diakpomerere, presented to journalists, denied the allegation. Onoriode, who spoke with our correspondent, claimed that it was their father, who was using the facility for the production of local gin before he relocated to the village.

He said;

“It was after my father relocated to the village that my brothers and I took over the production of the local gin. I was not even around when others were arrested. I was called that they had been arrested. It was when I went to chemical.

We then keep it for seven days, after which it would be ready. That is how we produce the local gin. It is the vapour that is coming out of heat that produces the gin. Our forefather has been producing the local gin for years. We produced it in Ondo and Delta states and other parts of the country.

The production of the gin did not start from us. It has been on for long years. “After we produced it, people used to come from various parts of the country to buy. We don’t produce malt and stout drinks.

What looked like the malt is called molasis, which is a by-product of sugar, which we usually get from Dangote, Flour Mill and Bus Sugar to produce the local gin.” Edgal said that forensic analysis of the recovered drinks was still being awaited. He added: “They are still waiting for the analysis of the products to ascertain where the products were being taken to for bottling and canning.”

Swiss Golden Ponzi Scheme: Russian, 2 Nigerians arrested

Swiss Golden Ponzi Scheme

Swiss Golden Ponzi Scheme

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has recovered a total of N216,402,565.05 (Two Hundred and Sixteen Million, Four Hundred and Two Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Naira, Five Kobo) only from Swiss Golden Investment, an online investment that purportedly deals in buying and selling of Gold Bars.

The recovery was sequel to a petition the Commission received from thousands of complainants who alleged that they invested in Swiss Golden Investment which was advertised as an online investment that deals with buying and selling of Gold Bars.

The petitioner further alleged that after investing over a billion naira into the business, the company refused to pay them any dividend or pay them back their capital. Upon receipt of the petition, the Commission invited the petitioners and they volunteered statements.

Through intelligence, the Commission picked up one Maxim Lobaty, a Russian and two Nigerians: Austin Emenike and Dickson Nonso Onuchukwu in Lagos.

The trio were subsequently conveyed to the Kano operational zone of the EFCC for further investigation. Swiss Golden which is headquartered in Hong Kong was discovered through investigation to be a Ponzi scheme that was designed to defraud innocent victims of their hard earned money.

After being drilled at the Commission’s Kano Zonal Office, Maxim and his co-suspects consented to the refund of the investment. Subsequently, a total sum of N216, 402,565.05 (Two Hundred and Sixteen Million, Four Hundred and Two Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Five Naira) only have now been recovered.

However, while the investigation was on going, it was discovered that, Swiss Golden Company Limited has defrauded over seven thousand Nigerians to the tune of over N3,000,000,000 (Three Billion Naira) only.

Investigation into the alleged fraud is still ongoing and all efforts are being made to recover the money involved and the alleged suspects be brought to justice.
