A 35-year-old man, Daniel Bidem has been sentenced to three months in prison for stealing his girlfriend’s phone valued at N47,000.
The man was sentenced at A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Thursday.
Bidem, of Garki II, Abuja, was arraigned on one count of stealing.
The convict was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to the offence and begged for leniency.
The Judge, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave him an option of N20,000 fine. Sadiq ordered Bidem to pay N40,000 as compensation to the complainant and warned him to desist from committing crime.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr. Dalhatu Zannah, had told the court that one Mibiola Olajumoke of No 13, Matadi Street, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, reported the matter at Utako Police Station on February 19.
Zannah told the court that On February 16 at about 2:30p.m, Bidem, who was a boyfriend to the complainant, took her to a hotel at Wuse II to buy her food.
“Bidem dishonestly and smartly stole the complainant’s Techno CX phone worth N47,000,” the prosecutor said.
He said the convict sold the phone to an unknown person in Wuse market at the rate of N10,000.
The prosecutor told the court that all efforts to recover the stolen cell phone failed.
He said that during police investigation, Bidem confessed to have sold the phone for N10,000. But he could not t reveal the identity of the buyer as he only met him at the market on the day he went to sell the phone
According to Zannah, the offence contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code.

Parents and guardians of the missing schoolgirls in Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe state, broke into tears when Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam visited them without saying a word on the whereabouts of the girls.
Addressing the parents at the District Head’s palace in Dapchi on Thursday, the governor urged the parents to remain faithful as security operatives were still searching for the girls.
He said “soldiers have been pursuing the insurgents, although they receive information that the Boko Haram insurgents had passed some areas, but the communities in the areas said they did not spot the girls along with the insurgents.”
He assured that government and security operatives would not rest on their oars until the missing girls were accounted for. The waiting parents wept profusely as the earlier news that the girls were rescued turned out to be false.

The Yobe Government, on Wednesday, issued a statement claiming some of the missing girls had been rescued. Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had appealed to parents and guardians for additional time to search for the missing school girls.
The minister made the appeal while fielding questions from newsmen when he led Federal Government delegation to Dapchi on Thursday. He said the actual number of the missing schoolgirls would be determined in the next few days when parents come forward with complaint of their missing wards.

One person has been killed with several others wounded on Tuesday following a bloody attack on Ikorodu Campus of the Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, by suspected cultists.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that the deceased, identified as Ahmed Amao, was a former LASPOTECH student who had been expelled from the institution.
NAN gathered that the group of hoodlums invaded the Ikorodu campus from different directions on Tuesday evening, chasing students around the polytechnic with guns, machettes and knives.
LASPOTECH spokesman, Olanrewaju Kuye, told NAN that the terrified students alerted the institution’s security personnel on sighting the hoodlums, comprising some former students of the polytechnic.
“So, we had to chase them out the campus via the polytechnic’s first gate; but when we got there, we discovered another set (hoodlums) approaching from the adjourning village to attack our students.
“Upon sighting our security men the gang began to shoot at will and our security men had no choice but to retaliate.
“Unfortunately, we hit one of the hoodlums, Ahmed Amao, a former student who had been expelled for examination malpractice. We learnt he died on Wednesday,’’ Kuye said.
He added that but for the prompt response of the institution’s security personnel, many students could have lost their lives in the attack.
Kuye assured parents of the safety of their wards following the attack on the campus by suspected cultists, saying “this will never be allowed to happen again.
“They should go on with their normal duties because nothing untoward will happen to them.
“Our security men now wield firearms too and our students have our phone numbers for prompt response. We will not take chances,’’ said the LASPOTECH spokesman.
Confirming the incident, Chike Oti, Spokesman, Lagos State Police Command, said the attackers were on revenge mission following an attack on one of their members.
Oti said two suspects were arrested with a locally made pistol following the incident.
There was heavy presence of gun-wielding security personnel comprising the police, Oyabo (local vigilante) and private guards when NAN correspondent visited LASPOTECH Ikorodu Campus on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, calm is gradually returning to the institution as students and other members of the polytechnic community were seen going about their normal activities on Wednesday.

Former controversial Big Brother Naija 2017 Housemate, TBoss has declared that she’s ready to “finally” move on from the drama betweeen her and her fellow former housemate, Kemen.
TBoss shared a picture of herself and Kemen, revealing that they both attended church service together last Sunday/
According to Tboss who was the 2nd runner up of the show, coincidentally, the pastor at the church preached about forgiveness and she used the medium to mention to her fans that she has finally gotten over the saga in the Big Brother Naija house that led to the Kemen’s disqualification during the show in 2017.
She shared the above photo and wrote;

Recall that Kemen was caught on camera touching TBoss while they both slept on the same bed during their stay in the house. Tboss later confided on Big Brother that she didn’t give her consent to the act.
A panel was set up and it was decided that Kemen should be disqualified from the show.
This decision actually caused an uproar on social media as different people had different views about the incident. According to some people, from the play back of the video, it showed that Tboss was actually aware of everything that happened. Some even claimed she at a point adjusted her body to Kemen’s touch.
And in some other quarters, it was total bashing for the fitness expert as they claimed since it wasn’t consensual, then Kemen should be made to face the wrath of the law as what he did could as well be likened to rape.
Both housemates have been seen together on several occasions, but it seems Tboss just freed her mind about the entire brouhaha.
Many Nigerian and African women see all westerners as very wealthy people who can change their lives, hence a man has revealed his escapades with hundreds of women.
While speaking to an online news site, Africa24, a 40-year-old French tourist, Jean Michel, admitted that he impregnated more than 600 women in six African countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Togo, Ghana and Guinea, within two years.
His confession has been translated from French to English by Simon Ateba in Washington, District of Columbia and it reads:
“Good morning Africa 24, I have a confession to make about the havoc I have wreaked in six African countries, including Cameroon, Togo, Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria, Ghana and Guinea. I am not proud of what I have done. These were unfortunate experiences.
“In France where I hail from, I did not have money. I was very poor until one day I played and won lottery. I won 550 thousand euros. It was the largest sum of money I had received in life.
“I did not know what to do, and a friend suggested we travel to Africa. We obtained all the documents, entry visa, and the rest, and our first stop was Ivory Coast.
“In Abidjan (the capital of Ivory Coast), we rented a furnished apartment. We had money to spend and met Ivorian people and we became friends. They introduced young Ivorian girls to us, and that’s when it all started.
“I began having sex with girls every day. Sometimes, I would sleep with three girls at the same time. It was a marvelous experience.
“I worried less about my health. All I wanted was to have fun. My friends and I were in a night club in the town every day looking for girls.
“One time, I met a girl and gave her money, and she told me to be engaged to her. She was ready to get pregnant for me. I don’t know whether it was the money they liked or the fact that I was from France that attracted them.
“I spent three months in Ivory Coast, spent 60, 000 euros and slept with more than 80 girls. After leaving Ivory Coast, I went to Togo where I slept with over 100 girls and spent 40, 000 euros.
“I spent three months in Togo and went to Nigeria. Nigeria was where I got more girls. I did not speak English, and it seems Nigerian girls love foreigners.
“I rented a furnished apartment in Nigeria and I was in Lagos for six months. I spent 100,000 euros and slept with 230 girls. Nigeria was the place I appreciated the most. Girls were always available and easy to deceive.
“From Nigeria, I went to Ghana, and then Cameroon and ended what I describe as my sex tour in Guinea. I was in those three countries for more than a year and spent over 200, 000 euros. If I told you I slept with more than 700 girls in those three countries, you won’t believe me, but it was unbelievable!
“In all, I slept with more than 1,400 girls in six different African countries. I have all their pictures in my photo album, including the dates we met, their names and phone numbers. I opened a Facebook account only for them.
“Since I returned to France, I have had more than 600 of them who told me they got pregnant for me. Some committed abortion, and I do not know exactly how many finally gave birth.
“Africa is a marvelous continent. Girls are beautiful and very sexy. All they want is a man who has money, and the worst is when he’s white.
“I realised that they love having mixed race babies. I do not know why, but many would do anything to get pregnant for you. 100 euros is plenty of money in Africa.
“To summarise, I went on a sex tour in Africa, I slept with 1,400 girls in two years and more than 600 got pregnant.

Africa’s Richest woman, Folorunsho Alakija has shared details about her life, not so many people know of.. and according to her, she was able to achieve greatness in life without a University degree.
Folorunso Alakija took to Instagram to share this piece and she also opened up that she is the 8th child in her family of about 52 children.

OAP and Leader of the #Freethesheeple Movement, Daddy Freeze has shared via his instagram page, how a church allegedly refused returning One Hundred Thousand Naira to a Tithe Payer who only wanted to pay Eleven Thousand Naira, but mistakenly paid One Hundred and Eleven Thousand Naira VIA POS.
Daddy Freeze
Daddy freeze posted the call recording, he had with the tithe payer whose name was revealed as ‘Kenneth’ and wrote;
The money loving deity the Pentecostals worship!
Kenneth called me this morning rather distraught.
He said that he paid 111,000 into his church account instead of 11,000 and the church has refused to refund him the balance saying the money was given to God!?
Here are excerpts from the call recording ;
Somebody gave me money for a project, so i went to church, where they use POS, so i wanted to pay my tithe, i wanted to pay Eleven Thousand Naira (N11,000)but i mistakenly paid One Hundred and Eleven Thousand (N111,000), and when i realised the error, i went back to them to tell them somebody sent me the money, but they (Church) told me that it is not possible to return, that they have already given the money to GOd
Mr Kenneth went on to reveal the name of the church as Glory Arena, Benin City
Nigerian politician and religious activist, Reno Omokri has taken to Twitter to warn his followers of spending lavishly especially on clothes, stressing that designer wears would have very little value while building oneself a house, tend to have more.
The lawyer was clear in his choice of words in passing across his message in the post in which he wrote,..

Tragedy struck when a former staff of the Power Holding Company Of Nigeria, who was dismissed in 2009, was, on Tuesday, electrocuted in Agbor.
According to reports, the deceased, identified as Monday Ebor, was illegally working on high tension lines when electricity was restored.
Eboh who was wanted by BEDC for his illegal activities which destroyed many transformers, was said to be illegally diverting lines from one feeder to another when power was restored.
On Wednesday, while in the diary room, Nina told Big Brother that she no longer understands Miracle as he was much more calm and a very cool guy when they were together.
Nina later confronted Miracle for telling other housemates their secret, in her words, she said; “You have change a lot. This is not the person I used to know.”
This angered Miracle who demanded what exactly he had done wrong. In response, Nina said, “I never know you talk too much. Why did you tell them that we had sex on camera.
“Our relationship has depreciated and you no longer care about me. I longer enjoy the relationship the way I used to.”
Miracle, on the other had, showed no remorse whatsoever as he gave reasons that they were no longer as close as before. He even told Nina not to jump to the conclusion that she knew him, asking, “For how long did you know me? How can you even say you know me before?”
Day 24 of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, really had a lot in store for viewers. Here are highlights from day 26 of the show…
Midnight Curveballs
The babies in the House got the Housemates bringing their parental skills to life. Biggie made sure they enjoyed the bittersweet midnight pleasures of having children. When the babies cried, the Housemates had no choice be to attend to them in the wee hours of the morning. However, that seemed to come naturally from the Housemates as none of them resisted attending to the babies’ needs.
Curve balls thrown
Soon as the babies settled and went back to sleep, Cee-C, Tobi and Angel weren’t about going to bed anytime soon. They enjoyed a friendly chat amongst fellow Housemates. As interesting as it was, one couldn’t help but notice that there wasn’t any eye contact between Tobi and Cee-C.
Eventually when they did to seem to be happily engaging, the curve balls thrown by Tobi and Angel got Cee-C to somehow change her conversational strategy.
At some point Tobi pointed out that he wouldn’t associate himself with a woman that he thinks is a liability intellectually, financially and otherwise.
Eating Humble Pie
It is pretty clear that had Angel not been part of the conversation, Cee-C would have loved to have a one on one with Tobi who now made it clear that the distance between them is more visible than ever. She decided to change the chat and focus it on a man she says is her ‘friend’ on the outside, Dee Dee.
As if that would make Tobi envious, it didn’t. Instead he encouraged her to pursue things with him [Dee Dee] as it’s clear that the guy was into her.
The humble Cee-C went to sleep without being able to chat to Tobi alone. However, she did ask for a massage today, we’ll see if she gets one or not.
Playing House
The Baby saga has certainly raised more than just the amount of noise in the House. The Housemates are definitely heeding the hidden messages and issues surrounding raising kids in different family dynamics.
Mommy Anto
Anto has had a peculiar way of embracing the responsibility Big Brother has given them. Although initially depicted as a burden, she has highlighted a couple of social challenges facing women in societies were they’re expected to conceive without the psychological preparation. During her conversation with Ahneeka, the two spoke about the disadvantages of the societal expectations that result in woman having children solely based on the fact that they’ve reached child bearing age.
Who Pitches in More?
On the other hand, Cee-C agreed that men these days aren’t very tolerant of women who display high levels of independence. She also mentioned how a man once told her that he wouldn’t marry her because of how she carried herself, viewing her independence as a defect. However, the men begged to differ, mentioning that independence is an attractive trait and instead of pushing them away, such an attitude actually pulls them in. Tobi further elaborated, discrediting Anto’s theory that men in Nigeria promoted dependence; he mentioned how his father took care of the main financial elements of the Household and has never heard his mother asking for petty things that she could have taken care of. Basically agreeing that taking care of a Household, be it financial or otherwise, is a dual responsibility.
The Baby task is definitely putting the two-dimension perspectives into a gender neutral opinion. Both the guys and the girls seem to be adapting and equally taking responsibility, with no signs of over burdening their partners, although Miracle has been nursing his former Household and paying a little less attention on the task at hand, but this is a different gist altogether. Has Biggie achieved balanced responsibility scales in the House?
The Shadingtons
A week ago, one could have sworn that Cee-C had Tobi by an unbreakable leash but now, It seems like the two former love birds have switched roles and it’s completely out of control. At least the shade is.
The Root
Talking of shade, Last night between the babies’ uncontrollable wailing and deep sighs let out by these inexperienced parents, Angel, Tobi and Cee-C were gisting about a couple of nothings and based on their body language, the former constituents of ‘Cebi’ were utterly uncomfortable. Angel just had to add salt and pepper to the wound by ramping onto the relationship highway. Tobi then increased the volume and mentioned how when stuck in the hype of courting a girl, “I’m sorry” was probably the magic phrase when dealing with a problem; to which Cee-C shyly agreed.
Shots Fired
More shade was thrown during the parenting conversation they all had out in the porch. It was clear that this gist was a tool for the both of them to exchange occult messages without giving anything away; with Cee-C talking about how important it is that a man gets to know her before rushing into a relationship and how her independence has served as a sift because most men cannot handle this so called defect of hers. To clap back, Tobi brought out his guns and mentioned how important it as for beauty to be accompanied by character to which Cee-C laughingly commented “We women can see through a man that just wants sex”. This was a hard blow because while speaking to Miracle, Tobi did mention that Cee-C was making it seem like he’s after her goodies; referring to a t-shirt incident they had one night.
Basically, these veterans were having a full on conversation while dodging any direct contact or reference; but we must mention how civil they’ve been towards each other. Whether on pretentious grounds or genuine effort, the whole thing was awkward even for us. Cee-C is most likely trying to get back into Tobi’s good books while he’s literally holding an invincible sign written “Look what you’ve lost and you ain’t getting it back“. We’re wondering if they’ll ever lock lips or share a bed again.
Girls Time
The woes of parenthood are being felt in the House this week but Biggie has come down on the guys, telling them that they will have to pamper the ladies in the House.
Bad Dads
Even though all the Housemates have been trying their best this week with the Task of responsibility and parenthood some of the guys have definitely been slacking. During the Diary Sessions many of the Housemates said that Tobi, Miracle and Rico Swavey were not as into it as the others. It was evident that Rico Swavey was not exactly glowing in the Diary Room and said it is difficult to see the baby dolls as real children.
Pamper Party
Earlier this evening, Biggie’s voiced boomed through the House and informed the House that all the guys will have to pamper the ladies until further notice. This mean that it is time for them to step up and make them feel like Queens. All the ladies of the House have been working hard to win the Wager, especially Ahneeka and Alex who were positively shining in their Diary Sessions.
Rising to the Challenge
Leo, Angel and Teddy A have really risen to the occasion in terms of fatherhood. They could all be seen today taking full charge of their responsibility and barely leaving their babies unattended. Ahneeka even went so far as to say that Angel is doing a better job than her. Teddy A says the Task just feels so natural to him as he is a father outside the House and it is bringing back memories for him. This Task has brought about a range of emotions for all the Housemates and gotten everyone talking about socially conscious issues, it has given rise to the reality of actually having children in real life. Anto for example did not take to the Task well in the beginning but is now really starting to get into it.
Stealing the Baby
It all started earlier this evening during the Diary Sessions when Biggie gave BamBam a Secret Task that would have a huge effect on their Wager.
The Task
Biggie used the Diary sessions to ask all the Housemates about their parenting experiences but when BamBam entered he added some spice to the mix. Her Secret Task was to steal one of the other Housemate’s babies and hide it so that it could not be found. Biggie told her that this would have a big impact on the Wager and that she must not fail. Even though BamBam was extremely nervous at the premise, fail she did not.
Kidnapped
All was calm and well in the House until the cries rang out and everyone sprang to attention, it was only then that Anto and Miracle noticed that one of their three babies has gone missing. They jumped into action fast and searched the entire House. Anto pleaded with Biggie even stated that she knew they had been neglectful. It did not matter at all and Miracle tried to go to the Diary Room sheepishly but with no success.
The Accused
After freaking out and combing through the House, it was only natural that the accusing would start. In a bizarre turn, Miracle confronted Alex of all people and asked her to stare him in the eye and tell him that she didn’t take his baby girl. She of course denied the allegations and was utterly offended at the prospect.
A slay queen on Facebook, has wowed many after she uploaded photos from her birthday shoot recently – the said lady certainly had people scrolling back to her post on their newsfeed after seeing her eye catching photos.
Donned in black lingerie as though she’s modelling for Victoria’s Secret, the slay queen boldly poses for the camera, giving different poses to give life to her birthday photos.
