A pastor identified as Chinedu, has been dragged into controversy after a female church member, Mrs Glory, gave a testimony during a midweek service on how God has rewarded her with N500,000 through a contract in Lagos.

The incident happened at Afolabi Oyewole street in Ejigbo where the church is located and the woman in question resides.

It was gathered that Pastor Chinedu did not wait till the next day, as he went to Mrs Glory’s house in the night at about 11 pm because the woman had told him that he had the money in cash and she would go to the bank to deposit it the next morning.

The victim added that the knock on the door by the pastor caught them unaware as members of the family were afraid thinking that it was armed robbers, not until he raised his voice and they knew it was their pastor.

P.M.Express reports that Pastor Chinedu asked her to bring the whole money for him to settle some debts in the church building project and promised to return the money the following week. She went inside the fridge where she kept the money and handed it to the pastor.

She said before the pastor collected the money from her, the pastor commanded her to use the money to circle round his head and said “the money will not kill Pastor Chinedu” for three times before he collected the money and went away.

It was gathered that when the woman realized her mistake, she went to the church to demand the money back from the pastor. To her surprised, Pastor Chinedu told her that the money had been sowed as seed to the church.

When Mrs Glory repeatedly insisted that she wanted her money back, Chinedu ordered that the church security should send her away and never allowed her to come to the church again.

It was learnt the incident led to the church sacking members of Mrs Glory’s family from the church and they were not allowed close to the church.

The victim is now in a dilemma on what to do as she went to the Police Station at Ejigbo to report the matter, unfortunately there was no proof that she gave such amount of money to Chinedu.

It was gathered that the victim is now jobless and left to her fate in the house because all the money she was using for the supply was collected by the pastor.

Five people sustained several minor injuries, after passengers on board a Delta Airline Flight from Lagos Nigeria to Atlanta used emergency slides to evacuate the flight and returned to the airport in Lagos, after one of the planes engine caught fire.

According to Delta, the Airbus A330-200 had an issue with one of its two engines. Flight 55 landed safely but five passengers suffered minor injuries during the evacuation while the plane was on the runway.

The passengers evacuated the plane using escape slides which is an unusual occurrence that shows the seriousness of the incident.

Delta’s website indicates that the Airbus A330-200 has 234 seats. It has two Pratt & Whitney PW4000 turbofan engines.

The engine’s manufacturer, Pratt & Whitney, said in a statement that it’s working with “authorities to assess the situation.”

Kano state has recorded a gory accident, which saw 22 secondary school student dead.

According to multiple reports, the students were going on an excursion to a radio station in Kano state, when they were involved in a fatal accident at Gaya local government area of the state yesterday February 13th.

The accident, which occurred at about 11.00 a.m., involved a truck and the bus conveying the students from Misau local government, Bauchi to the radio station. Eyewitnesses say the bus collided with the truck as both were trying to avoid a pothole at Samia Uku village.

The victims have been buried according ot Islamic injunction. The funeral prayers took place at emir’s palace, Misau Emirate Council. May their souls rest in peace, Amen.

I quickly walked away. Here’s the problem I could not stop thinking about it. I finally yielded to the pressure. I was so eager for the weekends. But since I was a CU chairman and I had a character to uphold I had to be clever.

So I would sneak up to the window and feed my mind with the images. It’s dark, it’s late, I’m wondering what if the askari comes and find me hanging on the window.

My grades went low and my concentration in class fizzled out.

During holidays, that became the trend. I remember one time in form three my friend and I were accidentally locked inside the computer lab. To me that was it! The whole night I was hopping from one website to the other.

I cleared my high school, and thank God my grades were good by my standards!

After doing a course in shipping management, I got a job in a company in Mombasa. At that time, I could not help it. I was a slave of pornography.

Here’s the twist, back at home I was appointed as the youth leader in our local church. I lead church services, I talked with them, but inside I was a mess.

In my first job, there was nothing else that I was doing on my desk besides watching pornography. It did not help that they had pretty fast internet. I would quickly finish my work to get back to my hobby.

That job lasted for only four months after a big blunder that cost the company a fortune. This was after hours of watching sexual material.

My self-esteem was really low, I couldn’t even get a girlfriend because in my mind I thought they would know what I was doing in secret.

In my second job, same thing, same behaviour. In fact, it moved from bad to worse. I had started having severe headaches at this time. I would keep taking painkillers. I started getting hallucinations.

When someone was talking to me, I’d blankly be staring at empty space. Then I would scream, to chase away pictures. This happened a lot of time.

But in 2013, my sister’s epileptic condition had gotten worse as well.

I turned prayers, but every time I would backslide back to my vice. There’s a time I watched pornography for over 8 hours. Obviously masturbating in the bathroom, feeling bad and still going back to it. I was chained.

That really affected me, I would be weak, feeling guilty, self-shame and clearly, my self-esteem was at low.

On that day I think I was at the end of the road. My phone was the first victim and a voice told me that I had to share my story.

The following weekend we had a youth kesha in my local church and was by default the MC. Funny thing is that the church was unusually full. So I asked if anyone had something to share. No one was standing. Silence

I found myself telling the congregation that I had something to share.

There was pin-drop silence as I narrated my story. I detailed my account in an intense one-hour long narration. You could hear paper drop. “What’s he talking about” their eyes seemed to ask me

After an hour of sharing. “I have a feeling God has begun the healing journey with me, I don’t know how many of us would like to begin this journey with me,” I asked.

Nothing.

Even my closest friends did not come close to me. I was like the plague. They started judging me, they did not want to be associated with porn guy.

I lived with that stigma for a couple of months standing up to the rebuke of telling my story.

But a certain pastor in Mombasa helped me with advice in series of meetings. I was in a journey back to recovery.

But on my end, the struggle had just begun and it was not easy. Sometimes I could share my story, and still, watch the videos at night.

Enough was enough.

I met a guy from Teens Development Initiative that ran counselling in high school. They decided to include me as part of their team. We did over 60 schools with storytelling taking centre stage.

Without realizing it, that period had helped me heal. I had stopped watching pornographic material.

My life had been crowded by either the teen initiative or epilepsy awareness events.

I tell my story to encourage people that it’s possible to unchain from difficult vices. Refocus your mind to less harmful things.

I would later be appointed as a board member at National Epilepsy Coordination board for my efforts in creating awareness and reaching out to the affected.

Seeking help for my sister really helped me evade the vice that was eating me up.

The Nigerian Army says credible information indicates that factional leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, now dresses as a woman in an effort to escape from the Theatre of Operation.

Army Spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, who confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday, said Shekau could no longer bear the heat and had abandoned his followers.

“He is running for his dear life. He is desperately trying to escape the theatre, disguised as a woman and dressed in Hijab.

“We reliably gathered that to avoid detection, Abubakar Shekau alternates between blue and black coloured hijabs. He was last seen in a black hijab.

“We, therefore, call on all those remaining Boko Haram terrorists to know that they are following a coward moving about in hijab and disguising as a woman.

“We also request all the remaining Boko Haram members to come out from hiding and lay down their arms and be treated humanely,’’ Usman said.

He said concerted efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fugitive terrorist leader.

The army spokesman, therefore appealed to members of the public, especially the residents of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe to be more vigilant and security conscious.

He also asked them to be on the lookout for Shekau and other terrorists who might disguise as women to escape.

In a new study called the ‘relationship between sexual position and severity of penile fracture’ from the International Journal of Impotence Research, doctors analysed which sex positions were the most dangerous for men.

The study found that ‘doggy style’ sex is the most dangerous, with 41 per cent of cases of penile fracture occurring as a result of using the position. Missionary, with the man on top, was in second place, as the cause behind 25 per cent of penile fracture cases, followed by sex with the woman on top in third.

The researchers who worked on the study included R Barros, L Schulze, A A Ornellas, L Koifman and L A Favorito. They noted that doggy style sex and missionary could cause equally serious penile fracture, while the woman being on top was the least dangerous. They said:

‘We do not observe differences between the severity of the penile fracture between the “doggy style” and “man-on-top”, but the “doggy style” had more severity of penile fracture when compared with “woman-on-top”.’

How does a penis fracture occur?

A penile fracture occurs when the appendage is subject to a sharp, blunt force trauma, which can occur during vigorous intercourse or masturbation. Since 1924, 1,600 cases have been recorded worldwide – roughly 16 instances per year, the Telegraph previously reported.

Researchers noted that in 50 per cent of cases, a gruesome cracking sound can be heard. Four in five male victims lost their erection. Those who have already been traumatised from breaking their penis are often left with erectile dysfunction problems and a lifetime of painful sex.

Staff of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, were on Tuesday morning surprised when the senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, stormed their office with anti-snake venom and snake charmers, a day after a staff claimed a missing N36 million was eaten by snake.

JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, went into rounds of laughter when the lawmaker presented him with two packs of anti-snake venom and offered the services of two snake charmers to fish out snakes that swallowed huge amount of money.

The exams board said it suspended the staff, Philomena Chieshe, at its Makurdi office following the bizarre claim.

In reaction to the development, the senator visited the JAMB headquarters to ascertain the truth of the matter and to lend his “assistance”.

“The reason for my presence here is in response to the story that a snake swallowed about N36 million. It is my concern that such a huge amount of money is reported to have been swallowed by a snake. I believe the contribution I can make is to bring snake charmers from my constituency to the JAMB office to help them fish out the snake or weed out snakes from their premises,” Mr. Sani said.

“If a snake can actually swallow N36 million one day we may wake up in this country to see that a snake has swallowed our foreign reserve or it has swallowed money that was gathered in the TSA.”

Mr. Oloyede continued his laughter and insisted on taking photograph with the unexpected gift.

“Lets take pictures with anti-snake,” he said.

One of the snake charmers, Tasiu Abdulrasheed, who claimed to have been a professional snake charmer for up to 20 years, said he has never encountered a money-swallowing reptile.

“I inherited the skill from my grandfather and I’ve been doing it for up to 20 years. I have dealt with different types of snakes, including pythons, cobra and others, but I have never captured a snake that swallowed money. My master has at different times captured snakes that swallowed various kinds of animals but he has never caught one that swallowed money,” he said.

JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said the board is dealing with more frivolous stories like Ms. Chieshe’s.

“There was even a case in Nasarawa when a staff claimed that on his way to come and submit the scratch card, he had an accident and the car got burnt with the scratch cards,” he said.

“The cards have numbers and when we checked we found out that those cards were used. There was another staff that said his signature was forged. He agreed that it was his signature but he wasn’t the one that signed and did not collect the scratch cards. We have many issues like that but all of them have been queried, they appeared before the disciplinary committee, they were interrogated. A report has been written. Once that report has been approved, we will be commended for their dismissal and prosecution.”

He advised Nigerians against trivialising the issue.

“We are not ashamed of whatever because Nigerians are turning it into a joke. It’s not a joke. We should be surprised and we should weep for this country that people could be that mischievous. The effrontery of someone saying a snake could swallow money is something that should disturb us.”

He added that the accused staff is currently undergoing disciplinary procedures and would be handed over to security agencies after the minister’s approval.
