“My mum was a Muslim before she converted to a Christian” — Omotola’s son talks about his mum in new interview

Michael is the fourth child of popular actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde. He talks about the life his mother leads off the stage with Toluwani Eniola.

Tell us about yourself.

I am 16 years old. I am an aspiring cinematographer and movie director.

Did your mother influence these interests?

I usually accompany my mother to movie locations. That experience attracted me to film-making and movie business in general. Anytime I watch a movie, I analyse it in a different way. Along the line, I discovered that cinematography is the right career path for me to pursue.

I have watched some movies. There is a huge difference between Nigerian and foreign movies, like the ones produced in the US and the UK. The storyline is different and the quality of the production is also different. I want to do something great with the camera. But I am not sure yet if I will shoot movies for Nollywood or be a Nollywood cinematographer. I am learning as much as I can. I might consider acting along the line as well.

What are your recollections growing up with your mother?

I have many sweet memories with my mother. One that I remember clearly is that she has always been a supportive mother and an inspiration to my academic success. I remember the first time I applied to go to secondary school. My father wanted me to begin secondary school education in good time. I applied to a secondary school when I was in primary four. Many pupils applied to the school of my choice but unfortunately, my application was not successful. Owing to a large number of applications, the school raised the cut-off point and my score was below it. I remember that my mother shouted at me but later calmed down. She encouraged me to study harder next time. She told me to be more focused and that next time, I would pass. She encouraged me to study hard, warning me that none of her family members had failed.

Does being her child put a burden on you?

I don’t think there is any burden on me on account of my mother’s feats. I am very careful about what I post on the social media so as not to be perceived wrongly.

How do you feel being the son of a popular actress?

To be quite honest, most of the time, I feel like every other child. My mother is a disciplinarian. She raised her children in a way that gave no room for one to be proud. I am not the child that will enter a place and say, “Hey, my mother is the popular actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.” I don’t brag about my background. In fact, when I entered secondary school, I did not want anyone to know who my mother is. But they eventually found out.

How did your friends react when they knew who your mother is?

It’s a big institution and many children of prominent Nigerians attend the school. Everyone is special in a way. When my friends saw my surname, some did not actually believe I am the son of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde. Those who didn’t believe simply justified their claim with the fact that there are many Ekeindes in Nigeria. My mother didn’t come to visit me in school regularly. My father usually accompanied me to school.

One day, my mother came to the school and my friends were surprised to know that she is my mother. She was nearly mobbed by the pupils who took turns to take pictures with her. My mother has always been a friendly person so she was excited to relate with the pupils. She said to them one after the other, “Hi, what’s your name? What class are you?” How are you doing? Even though she didn’t remember as many names as she heard. She visited me in school on special occasions such as my birthdays.

How do you feel when people call your mother omosexy?

I have no problem with that. To be honest, I have not heard people call her that in my presence.

What nickname do you call her at home?

I only call her mummy. I am only allowed to call her mummy at home.

What language does she speak to her children at home?

She speaks Yoruba to us at home. I can’t really speak Yoruba fluently. I remember a week that she didn’t speak English to any one of us. She spoke to us in Yoruba. She wanted us to learn our language.

Do you get preferential treatment from your mother as the last child?

I don’t think there is any preferential treatment for me. Yes, my mother treats me well. I was brought up to respect my siblings and behave well.

Can you share any memorable experience with your mother?

She likes to joke a lot. Whenever she plays her old school songs and I say, “Mummy, why now?,” she would say, “The songs are better than what you hear nowadays.” When she is really enjoying the songs, she begins to dance. She enjoys dancing.

Did she use the cane to correct or discipline you at any point?

She does not use the cane to discipline us but when I was much younger, she caned me on my palm. There was a Saturday she asked me if I had cleaned my room. I could not remember whether I had cleaned my room that morning or not. But I told her it was clean. She said, “okay.” I thought she would quietly go to her room but she went straight to my room to confirm. She was mad at me for not telling her the truth.

Tell us the Nigerian artistes she likes.

She likes Falz and Kiss Daniel. She also likes classical music and old Nigerian songs especially those produced in the 90s. I know some of the songs but I don’t know the name of the singers.

Which of her movies is your father’s favourite?

He likes all her movies. But I enjoyed “The Last Flight to Abuja” the most.

Who is stricter between your father and mother?

I think my mother is stricter. My mother told me the story of her life when she was growing up. She was heavily influenced by her mother who she described as strict. She told us that before she did anything wrong, her mother punished her ahead. My father is softer in some cases.

Does your mother’s name earn you preferential treatment from your teachers?

No, they don’t treat me specially. My teachers are her fans. They always check her Instagram page and tell me what they see there. I remember that they once talked about a picture of my father and mother at the gym.

What biggest gift did your mother give you?

My mother has given me many things but the one I value the most is a camera because it’s valuable to my aspiring career. I have also gone for a film course. In the area of career choice, my mother didn’t force any of us to do anything. My mother and father have always supported our ambitions.

For instance, my first sister, Princess, has always admired the hospitality business and management. She was excited when my mother helped her to secure a placement of two or three weeks at the Eko Hotel and Suites. That exposed her to standards in the hospitality industry. When my brother, Captain E, mentioned that he wanted to do music, my parents supported him. For instance, he supported him with equipment.

She also helps him to call any artiste he wishes to work with. When she called those artistes on his behalf, she usually tells them to work with him only if they are satisfied with the quality of his works. My sister, Meraiah, has always wanted to do fashion and styling. She also uses her connection to link her with other great people in the industry and getting her sewing machines.

Considering your privileged background, do you always get everything you ask from your mother?

No. She taught us to be content with what we have. I once told her to get me a car. She shook her head, laughed and said, “You are not serious.”

What major advice has she given you?

My mother always emphasises the need to be straightforward in life. She dislikes dishonesty and encourages me to be disciplined. My parents advised us that life is not a bed of roses. They encouraged us to be determined and tackle any hardship that comes to our ways.

What are the things people don’t know about your mother?

My mother is a prayer addict. You need to see her Bible. Many people don’t know she is from a Muslim background. She was a Muslim. She converted to Christianity when she was in secondary school or thereabouts. She is also very close to God and attributes her success to Him.

Who are your mother’s role models?

I don’t think she has any role model. The last time I asked her, she told me she is her own role model. But she respects many other people. She has a pastor she looks up to and that is Pastor Tessy.

What is her favourite food?

She likes plantain and fish. She eats lots of vegetables too.

What does your mother tease your father about?

My mother teases my father about his love for pounded yam. My father likes pounded yam so much that he doesn’t mind eating it thrice in a day. He specifically said he would be happy if he gets pounded yam thrice daily. My mother also teases my father for studying almost all the time. She encourages him to have fun. My father too teases her about her love for dancing.

How close is she to her family members?

My mother enjoys a cordial relationship with her siblings. She used to tell us about her parents. She was very close to her parents. Like I said earlier, she learnt discipline from her mother.

Which of your mum’s movies is your favourite and why?

The one I like the most is Beyonce and Rihanna. I like it because it’s funny.

How has she been able to stay off scandals?

My mother is a disciplined person. She does not associate as much as one would expect. She does not really go out. She goes out only if it’s necessary.

Who is her best friend?

Her best friend is Rukky Sanda.

Tell us about her most difficult and fulfilling moments.

I think her most difficult moment was when she lost her father. She lost her father at age 12. Her most fulfilling moment is when my father and all the children are with her.

What advice did you give her on her career?

At a point in her career, I noticed she featured regularly in gloomy movies. I remember I told her, “Mum, can you please stop acting in sad movies?” She responded with mixed reactions.

What is her favourite sport?

She hates football. She gets annoyed anytime I watch football (laughs). She likes squash and lawn tennis. She also likes watching wrestling, badminton and swimming.

She once veered into singing. Did she tell you why she stopped?

I don’t really know why she stopped singing. I think her passion for acting is stronger than singing. I was happy when she declared that she wanted to go into music. I know she can sing. I like the song she produced then. But my brother, Captain E, who is also a music producer, has been encouraging her to continue singing.

How does she relax?

My mother is a workaholic. She always has something important to do. But she likes relaxing on the couch. She visits the spas too. She also relaxes by dancing. She always forced me to dance with her. Dancing with her is not an optional thing (laughs). I think she enjoys relaxing by sending me around. She enjoys sending me around a lot. My mother could be on a couch with her phone just by her side. Yet, she would call me from a distance to give her the phone (laughs).

Mastermind of New Year’s Day Massacre in Omoku Rivers State Killed by Army & DSS

A notorious cultist and kidnapper Mr. Igwedibia Johnson, aka Don Waney, who has been on the run since he masterminded the New Year’s Day killing of 17 worshipers after crossover service in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State, has been killed.

He was reported killed by soldiers and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), along with two of his lieutenants: Ikechukwu Adiele and Lucky Ode.

The body of Johnson, Adiele and Ode were on Sunday morning displayed at the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, by the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the division, Maj.-Gen. Enobong Udoh, who was accompanied by Rivers Director of DSS, Mr. Tosin Ajayi, and Rivers Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed.

Udoh said: Intense surveillance activities on him (Johnson) and his gang by the DSS, Rivers State Command, revealed that after committing the atrocities, he relocated to a neighbourhood within Enugu Town in Enugu State, where he rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours within the community.

“From the relative safety of his newly-rented apartment, Don Waney was already perfecting plans to wrought another mayhem in Omoku, in which he was to attack churches, schools, army and police locations and the residences of the generality of the already-traumatised people of Omoku.

“However, following his successful geo-location to his new Enugu neighbourhood hideout by the DSS, Rivers State Command, a combined team of troops of 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu and personnel of DSS, Rivers State Command, raided the hideout to arrest him and his other accomplices.

“Incidentally, on sensing that the combine team were closing in on his residence, Don Waney, his Second-in-Command (Ikechukwu Adiele) and another gang member (Lucky Ode) attempted to escape through the back exit of the apartment and were shot down by the eagle-eyed troops in the process. One of them died on the spot, while the other two, who sustained gunshot wounds, eventually died, while being evacuated for medical attention.

“The remains of Don Waney and his cohorts were brought back to Port Harcourt by the combine team and handed over to the Rivers State Police Command, for further action.”

While also speaking, Rivers police commissioner assured residents of the state of the safety of their lives and property, declaring that other members of Johnson’s gang and other criminals in Rivers would be arrested and prosecuted, to serve as a deterrent to other criminal-minded persons.

Newly-weds, BankyW and Adesua Wellington shared their amazing love story in an exclusive DSTV broadcast tagged, The Wellingtons, which aired this evening.

Banky and Adesua shared with their fans, on how they met, their engagement and preparations for their wedding.

Banky said he first met Adesua in 2015 and after inquirying about her from her manager, Isioma, he went online to search for her and found her social media handles.

“I looked her up online and I liked what I saw. I googled her, stalked her on the gram and a day or two later, I slid into her DM like the real man that I am”

Adesua said Banky’s first message to her made her laugh

“if you can make me laugh, I can almost guarantee that we are going to get along and his first message made me laugh”

Banky said he had two defining moments about marrying Adesua when they were still dating.

“I had two defining moments with Adesua. One was before we started speaking. It was actually when I was stalking her and I saw a video of her and her childhood friends singing worship songs and I felt like this is really refreshing to find someone in our line of work that would readily show this part of them. The second part when I knew was when we took a private trip somewhere and it was the first time that she danced with me and at this point, I already knew she was a spiritual girl and a praying woman. But if i can confess, I was a little bit worried that when it comes to the turnups and the fun, I wasnt sure if she would be free like that and the very first time she danced with me, they were playing Rihanna’s “Work” and she danced with me. Ladies and Gentlemen, once you have the spiritual and physical, you close shop, you move”

Adesua says when Banky proposed to her, it was an instant Yes

“It was an instant Yes. I didnt even think twice about it”

Mrs Wellington says she wasn’t looking out to date or even marry anyone in the entertainment Industry but when Banky K came along, he changed her perception and made her change her decision

“I wasn’t planning on getting married to anyone in the industry … And here comes this one (Banky), and he completely shatters all my plans” she said

Banky on his part also said he wasn’t really looking out to date a lady from the entertainment industry. He says he was a bit worried in the beginning of their relationship but that God made him understand that it is not in the career of the person but it is the the person themselves.

“I wasn’t specifically looking for an entertainer as a wife because of what I presumed, but she took me off the balance” He says he is glad he married Adesua because she understands his business and the pressure that comes with it.

On why they had their traditional wedding in Lagos and not in Benin city, Adesua said “All my family members are in Lagos. Every one of them”. They say they opted for Lagos so as to make it convenient for everyone who wanted to be at their wedding.

Apparently, Banky had an idea that his close friend, Ebuka’s Agbada would make news. On the eve of their traditional wedding, Banky mentioned to Ebuka that hope he would not be coming to the wedding with the stylish Agbada as he will be turned back.

Banky had asked Ebuka if hiss Agbada was finer than his, Ebuka replied ”it might be”

On the day of the wedding when Ebuka stepped out in the Agbada, Banky jokingly told him to leave the venue.

On their wedding day in South Africa, Adesua described it as the Happiest day of her life.

Banky says the prayer is that their relationship would be more prefect than the wedding.

A photographer, who’d taken her pre-wedding photos shared her story on social media… and we’re literally in need of tissues.

Read below, with lovely photos…

Earlier today our reporter was amazed by what she saw, I must say all my years of photography I’ve never seen a scene like this, to her it was touching and heart melting, yes she got it right because you can’t imagine a bride of her type or fashion will take to the aisle with a perfect man, yes I call him the perfect husband he is a rare gem a man of honor, he is the man for 2018, he said it and he saw to it that it came to pass

I was in the studio when they walked in to take their pre-wedding pictures, a handsome man who is ready to settle with his beautiful bride, not up to a week the next call I received was that she had an accident and someone whispered to me that the marriage won’t happen again I had to think for a while but I told her it will definitely work.

Today history repeated itself again as the bride was rolled from Federal Medical Centre Lokoja in her wheelchair, you could see smiles on the faces of other patients in the ward their hope came alive and they were filled with joy.

“He finishes in seconds” — Facebook Girl Brags About Sleeping with A Guy & He’s Not Happy About It

In yet another episode of social media funk, with this being the most controversial one we’ve all six days of this new year, a Ghanaian lady on Facebook has bragged about her sexual encounter with a guy and it’s explicit!

The lady, who’s been identified as Angel Agbetornyo, had taken to social media to share how she got down with one Sparrow Gh – according to her, Sparrow gives good head but is an early c-ummer.

The screenshots of a chat she had with someone, revealed how she missed him giving her head (excuse our French btw) cause according to her, he’s good at it, but his only default is that he spills too early and this is because she has a lit ‘fanny’… oh well…

Sparrow on the other hand, after discovering about this, is quite pissed as he won’t let anyone spoil his rep – knowing himself that he’s not an early “spiller”, he also took to social media to debunk the claims and actually threatens her too… which has us a bit worried though… take it easy Sparrow, take it easy…

See screenshots of the chats below…

… and Sparrow’s reaction:

She further informed our correspondent that while ladies generally see mechanic as a dirty job, she’s very comfortable working with Spanners.

Female Motorcycle Mechanic

When I got admitted into the University I thought I would stop it because of the series of advice I received from my friends and others who call me all sorts of names, Some of my friends advised that I learn hairdressing in order to help myself in school rather than mechanic, but I noticed that I was unhappy doing other stuffs and the truth is I don’t understand anything that doesn’t have to do with Spanners and Engine. So I dropped all their advices for what makes me happy”.

When asked about challenges she face in the profession, she was quoted saying: “It has not been easy, coming from a family of nine and my mother not been there for me, I suffered a lot in school, just to put a smile on my father’s face. I have been humiliated, embarrassed for doing this job, but the God has been my sole strength”.

Adding that, she also look ahead venturing into more sophisticated engineering work.

“As a motorbike mechanic, it is not everyone that use bike. In some parts of the state motorcyclist have been banned, which means this job might fade away with time. So I’m looking at the future. Female Motorcycle Mechanic

Knowing fully well that there are millions of females out there who are struggling to make ends meet, Chidinma, dropped a piece of advice.

“My advice to females out there is that they should not wait for any man or woman to help them before they help themselves. You have to make a move. You have to believe in yourself .Don’t allow people’s idea and opinion to make you feel bad. You must be mocked, embarrassed and humiliated but you must hold on to God. Those that mock you must come to congratulate you. When you hope on relatives, friends and family they must fail because you are supposed to Hope on God and not human. You may not know who loves you and who wants you to go forward. So avoid all distractions and stay focused” she advised.

Man Impregnates His Mother-in-law In Nassarawa State.

A 45-year-old farmer and carpenter identified as John Ulaha, has reportedly impregnated his mother-in-law and putting his wife, Victoria, in a fix.

According to a new report by Sunonline, sometime in mid-September 2017, John and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ashetu Igbasue, 42, had relocated to Awe, Nassarawa State, in order to fast-track their harvesting. Three months into the pair’s sojourn, Ashetu got pregnant.

Mrs. Igbasue, said that it all started in the farm during a joke which led to sex later in the night when they returned from the farm.

“I agreed to his demand for sex and thought it was just to satisfy his sexual feelings, but somehow, it became a daily thing,” she confessed.

“I never thought I could get pregnant due to my age. I told my daughter the truth so that we can get a solution to it and out of anger she went public with it. I have since regretted my action. My intention is to find a way and abort it.

My daughter earlier agreed to look for somebody to abort it for me because I can’t keep it. The whole thing was a temptation and I completely regret it. I have pleaded for forgiveness from her.”

John however claimed that his mother-in-law seduced him by always exposing herself while they worked on the farm, especially, whenever both of them came together to eat.

“She would always sit half-naked before me; at first, it was embarrassing to me,” he said.

“But I later discovered that her actions were an open invitation and as a man, I was tempted at a point, and that led to something else. And we both continued in that order until our actions resulted in pregnancy.”

Expressing her disappointment at her husband’s behaviour, Victoria remarked:

“It would have been better for him to get a second wife who will be stationed at home or even look for a girlfriend to satisfy him in my absence rather than going into a love affair with my own mother; it is a very shameful thing and an abomination of the highest order; it is wrong.”

Victoria promised to take proper action after she recovers from the shock. But for now, she had ruled out the option of opting out of the marriage.

Red Dress Saga: Mercy Aigbe’s Stylist “Styledbyseun” Takes Responsibility For The Mistake.

For some days now, there’s been a drama on social media about an aggrieved bride who called out a Nigerian designer, Maryam Elisha of RikatoByMe, for giving out her wedding reception dress to actress Mercy Aigbe for her 40th birthday photoshoot.

Read her story below;

This was too bad. On the 29th of December 2017 which happens to be a day to my wedding, a greedy designer decided to ruin my big day. I cried all day no stop.

I bought this lovely fabric from @bshani_bridalfbrics and asked her to deliver to this designer @rikaotobyme after I had concluded the style and price with @rikaotobyme I made a 50% payment to her as soon the fabric got to her.

Told her its my wedding reception dress she assured me it will be ready on 26th. on that 26th i chatted her up to ask for my dress she replied saying it was ready as u can see on the chat above, she also said she will send a pics, eventually now sent a video d next day which was 27th u can also see that on the chat above.

I sent the balance 50% to her on 28th when I had seen the dress and was satisfied, she couldn’t send that day cos all flights coming to Benin that day were cancelled. So we were now left with 29th a day to my wedding, I called her by 6am that morning and she told me d delivery Guy has gone to d park to send my dress that she will send the waybill details(sending details ) across shortly. I waited till 9am no words from her.

I started calling to ask for the waybill details she wasn’t taking my calls, atimes she even cut the calls. I sent several messages no response at 1pm I started crying cos the situation got beyond my control.

My hubby, friends and family requested for the number and also started calling her but she obviously decided not to take any calls again. Until 4pm when I was drained in tears she then called and was apologising that she didn’t know what to say to me that y she refuse taking calls, she continued saying the delivery guy she gave my dress to is no where to be found.

when she heard how I was crying she then suggested to give me one of her old dresses for me to use for the day, I had no choice cos I was desperate I then accepted it.i got d dress on my wedding morning.

Well, The designer who later spoke on the situation days later, blamed the supposed mistake on a dispatch error and apologized for the pain she caused the new bride.

Now although, Mercy has been silent about the whole issue, but now her personal stylist, “Style By Seun” has come forward to take responsibility.

In a post on Instagram today, the designer apologized and took the blame upon himself.

He wrote:

I would like to apologize to my Client regarding the ongoing ” RED DRESS SAGA ” involving my client “MERCY AIGBE” who contracted me to style her for her 40th birthday photoshoot .

I picked up (4) four dresses on behalf of my client (Mercy Aigbe) from the Fashion Designer ” RIKAOTO BY ME” on 28th December,2017 for my client’s photoshoot of which the “Red Dress” was one.

However, I was in no way informed it was a custom-made dress for RIKAOTO’s BRIDE.

This has put a dent in my client’s image for which I am truly sorry for as I handled the transaction on her behalf.
I would like to clearly state that my client Mercy Aigbe wasn’t aware the dress was for anyone prior to when the news broke.

My heartfelt apologies to the affected bride as well; No bride should be without her dress on her big day. I wasn’t aware the Red Dress was hers and I am truly sorry for the disappointment she exprerienced.

Thank you

Drake replies follower who said his teeth isn’t clean

An Instagram user tried to troll Canadian Rapper Drake on his Post saying his teeth did not look clean, however the grammy award winning rapper gave the troll a savage yet mature reply.

The troll -@Jaydaddydollars wrote; “Lmao all that money and ur teeth don’t look clean”

Then Drake @champagnepapi replied “I have a pink diamond in my tooth… I brush with activated charcoal before any club night where i see baddies know dattttttt”

While we knew Drake kept himself looking fresh for “baddies,” presumably it’s interesting to learn that he’s also gotten into the natural dental trend.

Activated charcoal has recently emerged as a much more affordable teeth-whitening treatment. Since activated charcoal is highly absorbent, it has the ability to absorb any grime or bacteria when used on teeth.

11 Year Old Girl Rescued After Being Locked In An Apartment For Days. (Photo)

An eleven year-old maid whose guardian reportedly locked her inside an apartment in the Mafoluku area of Lagos, for days, while she traveled to the village, has been rescued by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal on Thursday, January 4.

The young girl with name, Nwafor Precious and is a primary six student, was said to have been brought from the village last October.

However, neighbors revealed that she had been going through untold inhuman treatment in the hands of her ‘madam’. The height of the ill treatment according to some residents who spoke to Vanguard, came after she was locked up inside the apartment without access to toilet.

A visibly angry Edgal immediately ordered that the padlock on the entrance of the apartment be broken, thereby allowing the pale looking and emaciated maid an air of freedom.

When asked how long she had been locked inside , Precious who was clad in a yellow blouse and a green skirt, said : “Since my aunty, Chineye Umuze, traveled to Anambra State for Christmas. Her sister usually lock me up until she comes back from work.”

Though she was shocked and frightened at the sight of the security operatives , but the CP assured her that she was in safe hands.

Edgal advised that:

“Care keepers should treat those placed under their custody in accordance with the constitution. Lagos State makes adequate provision for the right of the child. It is inhuman, wicked and satanic for anybody to lock up a child in a room that is not ventilated, without putting into consideration that there could be a fire outbreak or any other disaster and she would be trapped.”

He immediately ordered that a new padlock be used to replace the broken one. He also directed the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Mafoluku to prepare a letter of invitation for the victim’s guardian.

Thereafter, he handed Precious to officials of the Child Protection Unit under the Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development, informing that she would first be taken to the hospital to ascertain her present condition of health before being taken to a shelter.

He advised neigbours to always report cases of such to the nearest police station for necessary action.

Man murders best friend for sleeping with wife

Man murders best friend

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a middle-aged man for killing and burying his close friend identified as Moses Alugo, for allegedly sleeping with his wife, the Vanguard reports.

It was gathered that the suspect’s neighbours had informed him of the closeness between his wife and his friend, suggesting they were having a sexual affair.

The suspect reportedly challenged his friend about the allegation but Alugo denied ever having anything to do with his wife but that did not go down well with him.

The suspect left the deceased house only to return sometime later to warn him of dire consequence if he failed to let go his wife. In the exchange of words that followed, a fight ensued between them, leading to the suspect stabbing his friend to death.

After killing Alugo, the suspect hurriedly buried him a shallow grave at Akinpelu Camp, Ode-Aye, in the state, but he was later picked up by detectives from Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID), for murder after the matter was reported.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, saying that before detectives could get to the scene of the crime, the killer had buried the victim.

Joseph added that the case had been transferred to the state CIID for further investigation, describing the incident as unfortunate and warned the people against taking laws into their hands.

“It is hard for a star to find true love” – Comedian Kenny Blaq Says

comedian kenny blaq

Comedian Otolorin Kehinde, popularly known as Kenny Blaq in a new interview with Punch has said, not much about his life has changed since attaining stardom.

According to the Stand Up Comedian, he still visits local canteens to eat amala when he’s craving a meal, still takes okada when commuting.

He said:

Stardom has not changed anything about me. I still go to the local amala joint in my area to eat. I wear slippers whenever I am taking a stroll on my street, I still ride on okada.

I think the little way stardom may have changed me is that it has made me wiser and helped me to identify my true friends. There are some friends who are there because I am Kenny Blaq and there are the real friends who are with me because I am Kehinde.

On relationships, the comedian complained that it’s hard for a star to find true love.

It’d be difficult to find a girl who loves him for who he is, he said, because everyone loves Kenny Blaq.

He said:

It is hard for a star to find true love. For instance, if I say that I want to get married today and I don’t have a girlfriend, it would be difficult to get a girl that loves me for who I am because everybody loves Kenny Blaq.

It is really tough finding someone that really loves you. Besides that, I don’t have privacy anymore because I cannot take a walk on the street without being afraid of kidnappers. I am scared they might kidnap me.

“Mercy Aigbe and I are not fighting” – Lanre Gentry Reveals

Estranged husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, Lanre Gentry has in a new interview with Punch said he is not in any way fighting with Mercy Aigbe.

Lanre Gentry Reveals

Recall, the estranged couple – Gentry and Mercy Aigbe had made news headlines in 2017 after the actress accused him of domestic violence.

Mercy Aigbe had changed her name on social media, letting go of her husband’s name and campaigning against domestic violence.

Lanre Gentry Reveals

While it is unclear if the two are back together, Gentry has alleged that himself and Mercy Aigbe “talk every day.”

Gentry had on Mercy Aigbe’s birthday wished her a good one on his Instagram, writing:

Today you are @40 even though we are fighting I still say happy birthday to you because you are still my wife and my children mother as I use to call you ones again happy birthday to you Mercy Aigbe Gentry. Long life and God bless you.

Lanre Gentry Reveals

Well, Lanre Gentry, in the interview with Punch, said the “fighting” he referenced in his birthday wishes was “normal lovers’ quarrel.”

He explained that the reason he was absent at her birthday party was because he had traveled to Dubai – adding that although he was not in the country, he sent her gifts and a birthday cake.

He said:

Mercy and I are not fighting. We talk every day. I know that in the birthday wish I sent to her via Instagram, I wrote that we are still fighting but what I actually meant was not a real fight but the normal lovers’ quarrel. I am a very peaceful person and I don’t like fighting, most times, I compare myself to water which has no enemy.

The main reason I was not at her birthday party was that I was not in Nigeria on that day. I travelled to Dubai and I returned on Wednesday. Despite the fact that I was not in the country, I bought her a birthday cake and other gifts I would not want to mention because it is an issue between husband and wife.

Mercy follows me on Instagram, so, I was surprised that the news went round that she is following me again. If she had ‘unfollowed’ me before, there was no way I would have noticed because I have a lot of followers on Instagram.

Cheating husband bumps into his cheating wife at a hotel

THERE was drama at a popular guest house in Zvishavane when a couple reportedly bumped into each other on New Year’s Eve, each with a secret lover apparently heading for a lunch-time romp.

The melodramatic incident which is reportedly the talk of the asbestos mining town started when the man only identified as Matapi, a tout at Mandava Bus Terminus went bonkers and brutally bashed his wife and her lover.

Unbelievably, during the scuffle the wife who seemed unconcerned that her cheating husband had bumped into her with a lover reportedly maintained her arms around him while urging him (lover) to fight back.

Matapi is also said to be a regular customer at different guest houses in the mining town.

A witness, James Mafa, said onlookers were left in stitches as the wife tried to plead with her husband not to embarrass them public.

Mafa said the man who apparently forgot that he, too, had betrayed his wife’s trust by sleeping around, rushed to attack her and her lover.

“Seething with anger he (Matapi) started beating his wife and her lover but fortunately there were people around who later restrained him.

However, things took an exciting turn when the two women also went for each other’s necks,” narrates Mafa.

He added: ”As if that was not enough, the two women went on to UnCloth each other while throwing nasty barbs at each other. The scuffle drew the attention of passersby and other customers who immediately bolted out from their rest rooms to follow proceedings of the dramatic incident.

“From that day Matapi never reported for work and his wife is also said to have deserted their lodgings in Makwasha suburb.”

In a bid to bring to resolve the matter, staffers at the guest house reportedly ordered the couple’s lovers to vacate the premises and leave the philandering husband and wife to sort out their issues.

“I find it hard to believe why Jay Jay Okocha never won the African Player of the Year Award” – Vincent Enyeama.

Former Super Eagles captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, is in the thoughts of why one of Nigeria’s great footballers, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha never won the African Player of the Year award throughout his playing career.

Okocha, a well known quick and skillful footballer, and is widely regarded as the best Nigerian player of his generation and one of the greatest African players of all time, never won the prestigious award – he only went close on three occasions to win the African Player of the Year award.

After Mohammed Salah of Liverpool FC and Eygpt was named the winner of the 2017 African Player of the Year last night, Enyeama took to Twitter to question why Okocha was snubbed for the award during his playing time.

“One thing that I find hard to believe is why @IAmOkocha never won the @CAF_Online footballer of the year, he was just exceptional with the ball,” Enyeama wrote Twitter.
