The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended its nationwide strike 15 days after the industrial action began.
Usman Duste, the National President of ASUP made the announcement today during the union’s 14th National Delegates Conference at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi state. He said the decision to suspend the strike followed the series of meetings held between the leadership of the union and the Federal Government.
According to him, both parties agreed to a Memorandum of Settlement and Action (MoS) on each of the issues raised by the union. “The union considered the suspension to give an opportunity for implementation of the content of Memorandum of Settlement and Action, and shall be reviewed according to the timelines outlined in the MoS,” Duste said.
The decision to commence an indefinite strike was the outcome of the National Executive Council meeting of ASUP which held on November 11 at the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State. According to the union, the industrial action followed the failure of the Federal Government to implement all the agreements it entered with them since 2016. Some of the demands included non-implementation of the NEEDS Assessment Report and shortfalls in personnel releases and withdrawal of allowances.
Others were non-passage of the amended bill of the Polytechnic Act, alleged infractions in the appointment of rectors, as well as improving the conditions of state-owned institutions among other issues. The union had lamented that despite the long period given to the government to address some of the issues it had raised, government did not consider it necessary to address the demands for improved funding of polytechnic education in the country.
Dutse had also told reporters after the Council meeting that ASUP had given government sufficient time to implement all the agreements, saying they had no choice than to embark on an indefinite strike after the expiration of the 21-day ultimatum issued earlier.
“On October 24, a reconciliation meeting was convened by the Federal Ministry of Labour in Abuja. The ministry in the eye of the storm, the Federal Ministry of Education, was poorly represented that no memorandum of action was agreed on. “This clearly shows the level of disdain and disrespect with which the issues of the sector are being handled by the relevant agencies. In view of the above, our union resolved in its emergency meeting of NEC on October 31, 2017 to commence an indefinite and comprehensive strike effective from November 13, 2017,” he had said.
Though most people might disagree with me on this, I strongly believe Oritsefemi should be given more credit than your favourite man, Banky W.

I know Banky W and his wife, Adesua stole all the attention because of the class, but Oritsefemi gave a good account of himself as well. We were just too ‘blindfolded’ to see the things he did.
While Banky W went to South Africa to hold his white wedding, Oritsefemi didn’t abandon our beloved country. He understood that Nigeria was good enough for his wedding. He would have done the same since he has the money, but he felt most people won’t be able to witness his special day if he had taken it outside the country.
In a recent interview, when he was asked why he chose to do have his wedding in Nigeria, he said, “People who are very familiar with me know I am a man of the people. Most of my fans and friends reside in Nigeria and I want them to be part of my special day.” Is that not nice? He had the interests of his people at heart and he made sure he didn’t disappoint them.
Despite the noise and the elaborate wedding Oritsefemi did, he must have spent a lesser money than Banky W. Though it was gathered that Banky W’s white wedding in South Africa was a sponsored one, there is no proof.
If one imagines how much they spent to put everything together, the money may be enough to pay workers of a state for a month or more.
Since he did his wedding in Nigeria, all that Oritsefemi used in putting things together were gathered here. In a way, he provided jobs for the pretty ushers, hardworking waiters, event planners and others that provided services at his wedding.
But I don’t think anyone in Nigeria benefited from Banky W’s wedding to Adesua in SA. When he thinks of the cost of taking service providers to South Africa, he would rather stick to hiring South Africans.
Banky’s Groomsmen.
Also, remember that Orisefemi’s wedding was not different from a carnival. He was ready to feed everyone in Lagos. If you think it is easy to feed the number of people Oritsefemi fed, you may want to replicate his wedding.
How on earth did he convince an educated lady to marry a street boy who already had two children from two different women? That is amazing, as we all know that educated women prefer educated men.
Newly Weds, Mr and Mrs Wellington are currently on their honeymoon, and they’ve shared photos as they pet two cheetahs at the Zebula Golf Estate in South Africa.
Recall, the two were recently tangled in a recent scandal, after Banky mistakenly shared a video that featured his wife, Adesua in a Bikini thong. [See the Video Here]

The proud father shared a picture with Derek on Instagram on Tuesday, November 28 showing the duo wearing hospital gowns and kissing as they cradled their newly born babies.
He wrote:
“Happiest moment of my life. Welcome Fredrick and Milla to the world. ????”

Nigerian transvestite, Bobrisky who has been revealing a lot about his mystery “bae” lately, has just revealed that his bae slaps and cages him.
The popular cross-dresser who revealed his bae is an over 50-year old top government official two days ago, has taken to his Snapchat to disclose that he has received ‘international’ slaps from his bae too unlike his ‘Ex’ who has never beat him.
Well, rumours are that the transvestite has never been to Paris just after he said he has received two international slaps from his bae, one in Dubai and another in Paris.
There is no record to show he has been to Dubai either. We all know he documents every second of his trip to the USA.
A few weeks back, he announced he would be visiting Paris and London for the first time in February 2018. He even said he would take his gate man,Jacob along with him.
Troops on Tuesday rescued 212 persons held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists after they cleared remnants of insurgents from some villages in the northern fringes of the Sambisa forest.
They also captured one Boko Haram commander, “Ameer” of Chawa, Amman Judee and neutralized four terrorists, according to a statement by Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, the Director of Army Public Relations.
Usman said the captured terrorists leader was undergoing interrogation, while the rescued persons were being documented and underaged children among them administered oral polio vaccines.
Earlier in the week, troops rescued 30 persons held hostage by the terrorists during clearance operations in eight villages at Bama Local Government Area of Borno.
The widow of late Taraba lawmaker, Abdulmumini Dame, Rukkayya has been ejected from her late husband’s house in Jalingo, Taraba State, weeks after the burial of her husband.
According to reports, Rukkayya who is still mourning her husband who was buried on October 26, was evicted from the apartment of her late husband by his relatives.
Mrs. Dame said she married the late lawmaker Islam 9 years ago though they had no child before his death. She alleged that her in-laws usually harassed her for not bearing a child and after her husband’s death, “she was threatened and bullied for bringing bad luck to the family.”
She said she was eventually thrown out of the house. “As you can see I’m in Takaba (for the 40 days mourning period) but they didn’t allow me to observe it in this house and kept insulting threatening me”, she said.
The embattled widow has since filed a suit seeking redress, her lawyer, Muhammad Rabiu, said. The late lawmaker’s brother, Dennis Dame, in his reaction, however, denied that there was a marriage between his brother and Mrs. Dame.
“He just ‘kept’ her but not as wife. She didn’t even allow us to observe this mourning period but dragged us to court unnecessarily. We too have filed our suit at the tate High Court, so the matter is before the court,” he said.
Nigerian singer, Harrysong has in a video shared on his Instagram page, called out the Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa for doing nothing about the increasing rate of communal clashes in the state, particularly the clash between the Ogbe Ijaws and Aladja people.
In the video, the record label owner accused the governor of not being a leader, adding that the Governor is a businessman who just wants to make money for himself and his family.
He wrote; “I woke this morning highly infuriated and troubled about how much Nigerian politicians have raped this country without a conscience. Even my state Governor, Sen. IFEANYI OKOWA is worse. Aladja and my community, Ogbe Ijaw have been killing themselves for years and OKOWA is rather playing a businessman than a father and a leader he is meant to be. Come 2019, we need leaders, not politicians.?”
Recall, at the recent Warri Mega Fiesta headlined by Harrysong, the Arabanko singer unleashed hot steam on his former label mate, alleging that he saved the Limpopo singer’s career when the latter (Kcee) split up with former team mate, Presh (of KCee and Presh).
He Sang on the Warri Stage ;
“Kcee tell me say I nor suppose to record o. I remind am say ‘you forget, when KC and Presh broke, you just dey forget o, this lonely Warri boy o na him you meet to help you o‘,”
“I fit no get mama. I fit no get papa. I fit no get brother. But I get talent o. A wicked talent o! You can take everything from me, you can never take my place. Favour is my name.”
This interesting update comes weeks after Kcee slammed Harrysong and former manager Soso Soberekon with a lawsuit, demanding for the enforcement of his ‘Fundamental rights’.
The drawn-out feud started in January after the Samankwe singer dumped Five Star Music and launched his own company.
Though they have attempted and failed at peaceful resolution, it is obvious that neither of them is ready to bury the hatchet, especially because Harrysong insists on being independent from Kcee’s company Five Star Music.

Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has revealed why he ended his boxing career to become an actor.
In an interview with PUNCH, the Nollywood star disclosed he was once a boxer and added that he quit boxing when a Delta boy battered his face in a championship fight.
He said:
“I would have been a boxer. I used to be a boxer. I was doing well until I went for a championship in Delta State. The boy I fought with was an idiot; he gave me a beating I would never forget. That boy changed my face and made me hate anything that had to do with gloves.
After the fight, I looked in the mirror and I could not even recognize myself. I could see with only one eye for sometime due to the punches he dealt me. That was the incident that made me quit boxing.”
Kenya President, Uhuru Kenyatta said on Tuesday that any African can get a visa on arrival in Kenya, and will be free to settle in the country if they marry a Kenyan.
The president stated this during his inauguration address after being sworn-in for a second term in office, saying the move was designed to cement African ties.
He said;
“If you wish and find a willing partner, you can marry and settle in Kenya,” “This commitment we make again with no requirement for reciprocity.”

As part of long-term plans to finance the 2018-2020 budgets, the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu and Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos Island are to be sold by the Federal Government.
Also to be sold are some selected power plants under the National Integrated Power Projects, NIPP.
The Federal Government is looking at the proposed sale of some of these national assets as means to generate sufficient funds to drive the 2018 to 2020 budgets.
Speaking in an interview with journalists after he appeared before the House of Representatives Joint Committees on 2018-2020 Medium Term Expenditure Framework /Fiscal Strategy Paper, MTEF/FSP, on Monday November 27th in Abuja, the Director General of Budget Office, Ben Akabueze said some government projects and policies in the 2018 budget would be financed from the expected revenue from sales of the key government assets as well as national parks.
Akabueze added that some of the non-core assets from the mines and steel sector like houses and estates are also part of items to be sold by government for the purpose of financing the budgets.
According to the DG budget office, proceeds from the privatization of the assets would be used to finance the 2018 budget deficit of N2.005 trillion – much of which will be financed through domestic and foreign borrowings.
The country, he said, was generating too little revenue, hence it was expedient to borrow.
The Director General of Budget Office added that the reverse would be the case, if actually the assets were generating revenues.
“We are generating too little revenue, hence we are borrowing. If we generate enough, borrowing ratio will drop,” he said.
However, chairman of the joint committee, Babaginda Aliu, frowned at the absence of five Federal Government agencies he described as critical to the 2018 budget consideration and passage, which were invited to the session.
He noted that notwithstanding the late submission of the MTEF/ Fiscal Strategy Paper, the committee was committed to streamline its activities to pass the document and ensure the budget is passed in record time.
The Minister of State for Budget and Planning, Hajia Zaniab Ahmed, representative of the Governor of Central Bank, Adelabu R.A. and Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) Dr. Tunde Fowler made presentations during the session.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance Alhaji Mohammed Isa Dutse, who represented the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; and the Comptroller-General of Customs Col Hameed Ali was represented by Deputy Comptroller General of Customs in charge of T&T, Alu S.R.

Daddy Freeze shared an old video of Pastor asking for donations from members of his congregation.
The video was captured 3 years ago, at the 61st annual convention at the expansive Redemption Camp, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Adeboye apparently, announced plans to build a new auditorium stretching three kilometres in length and breadth, he then appealed for donations for the new auditorium which would quadruple the church’s present auditorium which has an estimated capacity of about one million people.
Adeboye was quoted in the video saying;
“We need N1 billion from ten people. If you are one of them, please see my personal Secretary after we finish today,” Mr. Adeboye announced to the congregation.
“We also need N100 million from those who can afford it, if you are in that category. Please see my personal Secretary as well.
“Nonetheless, we need everyone’s involvement. If you can afford N50 million, N20 million, N5 million, N1 million to as low as N100, kindly make sure you participate.”
Daddy Freeze then shared the old video, and reacted to it thus;
“E ku ise Oluwa!
Billion Naira gang ?
Is the special announcement only for the billionaires? Did Jesus segregate the believers according to their spending power?
If I may ask, where did all the billions and hundred millions go to? Did it go into building free hospitals or free schools or factories where workers can work or was it just swallowed by ‘church expenses’ or was it geared towards building more churches, something we already have much more than enough?
When Moses realized that there was more than enough offering to finish the temple, he instructed the Israelites to STOP bringing their offering.. Are we ever going to finish temple building, or is this a perpetual process in Nigeria?
I hope this billion Naira offering was shared equally among all the believers as practiced by the disciples in Acts chapter 4? ~FRZ #FreeTheSheeple
◄ Acts 4 ► [32] All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. [33] With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all [34] that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales [35] and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
◄ Exodus 36 ► New International Version [3] And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. [4] So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing [5] and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.” [6] Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, [7] because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.
Jude Okoye.
Jude Okoye then left a comment under the video. He wrote; “Ah ah! Just like that? Where’s OBO..”
Davido also left a comment on the video as thus; “30 BG”, (30 Billion Gang).
Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun and his wife, Mabel are celebrating their 9th wedding anniversary today, November 29th.
Although the couple have known each other as “boyfriend and girlfriend” for 15 years, they only made it official in 2008.
Their union is blessed with a daughter, Michelle.
Well, amid rumours of their marital crisis sometime last year, the ace comedian has taken to his Instagram page to thank his beautiful wife for staying with him “through rain and sunshine”.
He wrote:
“It’s s been 15 years from boyfriend and girlfriend through the good, the bad and ugly, through rain and sunshine, through all the seasons of life that we have endured each other with love. I thank God that we have had each other to face it all as husband and wife for the decade that is only next door. God searched the world over and found you just for me. And He has blessed us through another awesome year. Happy Anniversary @midas_interiors my love
Anyway, Mabel also shared a photo of them which captioned:
“9years of marriage and 15years of staying strong together through the good and the bad times. May our love continue to flourish and blossom. Thank you for being my husband and lover. Love you always. Happy wedding anniversary to us @aycomedian ❤”
An Nigerian Guy based in Italy, came back to the country, and locked up his parents, after he found out that the money he sent to them to build a house for him, could not be accounted for.
Facebook user, Nnamdi shared the story as thus;
“One of us just locked his parents up in police cell. His 65 year old father and 56 year old mother slept in police cell last night with an instruction that anyone who comes close to bail them should be locked up too.
I know what the parents did are wrong but I have been pleading with him since last week not to toe this path. There are many ways to solve issues like this.
If your parents do same to you, would you have done exactly what he did or you would have handled it differently? Hear him :
“Ben, I’m sorry I have to do what I did. You won’t understand how painful it is to be hustling here only to find out that my stupid and greedy parents were just wasting all my efforts on frivolities.
Like you already know, I have been in Italy doing all kinds of menial jobs just to put food on my table and make some savings. I have been here for six good years but I have never visited Nigeria.
I have been sending some cash to my parents to help me buy two plots of land and start building on it for all of us because we have suffered enough as a family, paying rent always.
Ben do you know that my foolish parents only bought one plot of land and nothing has been going on there apart from the initial foundation.? In fact they started the foundation recently when they knew I will be visiting Nigeria.
They have been sending me fake pictures of my house. Bro I’m mad. I don’t know what they used all the money for. They don’t know how I managed to make these savings. Omg I just wasted six years in Italy without anything to show for it. If I can’t trust my own parents, who then can I trust?
I will spend the remaining money I have with me on police to make sure they remained there until I go back to start a new hustle. Please Ben if you have a trusted lady in her late thirties who can build with me, kindly hook me up to her. I can’t trust these foolish parents of mine again.”
Unarguably, the most popular upcoming actor in Nollywood, Uche Maduagwu is still pissed at the fact that Banky W and Adeusa decided to go for a flamboyant wedding.
Recall he took to his Instagram to call out the couple for spending so much on a mere wedding.. He blasted the couple after the Lagos traditional wedding, wanting to know why a big wedding was needed for a good marriage. This had made people call him a hater especially since it was obvious no one invited him to the wedding.
“Is it too difficult for you to do a small wedding? @bankywellington Are you #wedding the whole of #Nigeria or just one #girl? Hmmm… My P.A just showed me an old #post of yours on #instagram where you said you would never do a #big wedding, and just yesterday, my Ex- #girlfriend also showed me a #video where @adesuaetomi said she would never do a big wedding too, so what really went wrong?
“Can’t you #guys emulate my best #friend @iambangalee when he had his wedding, am sure the whole #world did not hear about it, until after the whole ceremony, because he knows the #food you invite the entire village to come eat with you never last… listen, those people who are #dancing and praising you today, some of them are secretly waiting for your #marriage to break like the wall of Jericho so they can #laugh at you.
“I’m the biggest #actor in Nigeria, and am saying its not too late to taking your #relationship off social #media, a word is enough for the #wise. #repost #pic #bride #weddingday #blog #nollywood #share #beauty #lagos #smile #good,” Maduagwu wrote.

The white wedding which coincidentally had happened the same day with Oritsefemi’s wedding had not gone unnoticed for him and he was quick to applaud Oritsefemi while mocking Banky and his wife.
Now, following the mistake of Banky yesterday which exposed his wife’s naked butt to the world, the upcoming Uche had laughed the couple to scorn and also calling Adesua’s butt ‘Tiny’
In his words, he asked if the groom was now happy after exposing his wife’s tiny butt to the world.
Veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has reacted to the controversial video “mistakenly” posted online by Banky W on his Snapchat and Instastory.
Kate Henshaw.
Apparently, it seemed as if it was a mistake carried out by Banky W as it wasn’t intentional to put his wife’s nudes before the public. [See The Video Here]
Henshaw has now subtly reacted to the reports, and warned that some things should be kept private. Thus she’s of the notion that Banky probably shared it intentionally…
She wrote: “It’s easy to get sucked into the whole social media whirlpool. But some things should be kept private.”
Paul Okoye a.k.a , Rudeboy sat for an interview with Beat 99.9 FM to discuss going solo, his solo music career and what his fans should expect.
In his interview on morning rush which has just been released after it aired days ago, Rudeboy said from the 1st of November, he made a decision to take everything seriously and move on from the drama with his brother Mr P, in preparation for 2018.
When asked about the issue with his family, he said he doesn’t want to “play politics” about music and won’t be talking about his family issues in public as no one does that and as a result of this, didn’t answer some questions fans sent out as regards his brother.
Speaking on Tweeting about their family issues, he said he thinks he was very stupid, adding that something got into him. He said he regrets making comments and asked that his fans to forgive him.
Rudeboy also revealed that he doesn’t know if there will be a PSquare song again or if he is interested in doing one. When asked if he was going to perform alone, Paul said he’ll be performing at the just concluded PhynoFest in Enugu.

The music star also said he was supposed to bring out a solo album next year, he wasn’t supposed to drop his new singles but he felt he needed something to start his “new year” (November 1st).
He said he has been living in the studio for the past few weeks and has 90-100 songs available, adding that he could drop two albums today if he wants to, ending his statement with “My eye don open, dey just free lion commot for cage.”
Maria asked him how he felt when people say he can’t sustain his career alone, he said he laughs it off adding that he is not talking anymore adding that his music will speak for itself.
A fan sent in a question, asking if the brothers could make up and get back together and he replied saying “No be me sign paper say I wan commot”
Lastly, he was asked about his working relationship with his brother Jude Okoye and he said “There used to be three of us, now there’s two of us; Jude is still my manager”

Her face was said to be completely disfigured by a series of brutal attacks.
Yesterday the woman’s lawyer claimed Galeano, 32, would become violent when anyone liked the photos she posted of herself on Facebook .
He began to beat her up every time one of her friends on social media reacted to any of her posts.
Galeano later took control of her Facebook page, where he would post pictures of her, and continued to punch and kick her for every ‘like’ the posts received.
Lawyer Arnaldo Martinez told how Ms Ortigoza, from Nemby near Asuncion, Uruguay, would dread a notification telling her that someone had reacted or commented on a post.
Her friends had no idea that each time they made the friendly online gesture she would be brutally beaten.
He said: “Her mouth was all broken, she was very damaged, her skin was hanging off because of the blows.
“He controlled the victim’s social networking sites, he controlled the messages and photos, and for every ‘like’ she received from her friends, the woman received a beating because he accused her of having a relationship with them.”
Mr Martinez said she only didn’t lose her teeth because “he would put a cloth in her mouth so that she would not scream during the brutal beatings that she suffered daily.”
The man’s father finally reported his violent son to the police after he believed the woman would die following the last attack, according to reports.
Ms Ortigoza was so disfigured by the violence she wasn’t able to recognised herself after being shown photos of herself after being beaten.
She underwent reconstruction operations of the nasal septum and lips.
Galeano was captured and charged with attempted femicide, deprivation of liberty and coersion, crimes which carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.
Yesterday, Gbenga Adeyinka broke the news that Veteran Comedian, Baba Sala had passed on.
He wrote on his page yesterday, “We lost him. What a great loss. An icon is gone”, he wrote on his Instagram page.
Apparently, after sources reached out to the Family of Baba Sala, it was revealed that the reports by Gbenga Adeyinka was false.
Gbenga has now issued an apology via his Instagram page where he had earlier made the untrue claim.
“Good evening please DISREGARD the news of Baba Sala’s demise. The source has since recanted. So sorry for the misinformation.
“Feeling very stupid that I just took his word for it. Sorry again,” the standup comedian wrote.
However, one of Baba Sala’s sons, Emanuel Adejumo, had dismissed the story as false.
He said “It is not true that Baba is dead. He is alive and he doesn’t even have a stroke.
“I don’t know where those peddling the death rumour got it from.”
This is the second time in less than six months that such rumour would be peddled about the comedian.
In August, a similar rumour was published by many blogs, however, it was swiftly debunked by Emmanuel.
“Good morning Nigerians, I want to thank you all for your love… I would like to inform us that my Daddy, Hon Moses Olaiya Adejumo MON is alive, he is doing well. Please, ignore any death rumour,” Emmanuel had posted on Facebook.
