Speedy responded thus;

Peter Psquare Okoye has reacted to reports that the Federal Government is set to stop Entertainers from shooting their music videos, movies etc, outside of Nigeria.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Lai Moammed when he paid a visit to the headquarters of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) today July 15th.
“This government has agreed that henceforth, whatever we consume in Nigeria in terms of music and films, must be made in Nigeria. We cannot continue to go to South Africa or any other country to produce our films and then send them back to be consumed in Nigeria. The Broadcasting Code and the Advertising Code are very clear on this. For you to classify a product as a Nigerian product, it must have a certain percentage of Nigerian content”.
According to Lai, Nigerian entertainers patronise the economy of other countries whenever they go outside Nigeria to shoot their videos;
“When they get there, they will patronise the economy of that country and then bring the products back to Nigeria for us to consume. It is like somebody going to China or Japan to make a product that looks like palm wine and bring it back home to label it Nigerian palm wine. As long as we are not able to implement our own code to ensure local production of Nigerian music and movies, our young talents will not get jobs. It is Nigerians that pay for the consumption of these products and therefore they must be allowed and encouraged to participate in their production. I am going to meet with the relevant stakeholders over this, to see that whatever amendment that is needed to be made to our Broadcasting Code in this regard, is done urgently,” he said
Below is Peter Okoye’s Reaction to this recent development;
His elder brother, Jude has also reacted to this new development;
‘Smh. An industry they NEVER encouraged, supported or empowered is what they now want to control. Let all of you stop running to abroad when you are sick as na naija money una dey use patronize oyibo hospital dem. You people are the ones refusing to fix our health facilities so u travel out when mosquito bite una.
So why tell us where to record when u can’t provide uninterrupted power here in Nigeria. Sometime I wonder how we got it all wrong. Una children when dey sch for abroad na which money una dey use patronize them? Abeg stfu!’

Nollywood actors, Odunlade Adekola and Bolaji Amusan were attcked by armed robbers as they were returning from a Glo Music show in Ijebu-Ode.
According to reports, their cars ran into the armed robbers who had laid siege along Ilishan-Sagamu road.
Mr Latin narrated the ordeal to PREMIUM TIMES this morning saying,
“we left Ijebu-Ode after the show and heading to Abeokuta, when at about 7.30 p.m. we ran into the armed robbers already stationed themselves on the road,” he said.
He explained that Odunlade was driving ahead of his car when he sighted the road block by the bandits. Odunlade attempted to make a detour, but the bandits rained bullets on the tyres forcing the car to a halt, he explained.
Mr Latin, who drove in his Toyota Camry behind Odunlade’s Toyota Avensis, said he and his colleague, alongside some of their aides, had to abandon their vehicles and run into the bush.
He said they were in the bush for almost two hours, while the bandits ransacked their vehicles, carting away valuables including money and mobile phones.
“We ran as the robbers pursued us with guns. We were in the bush for about two hours, before we later regained freedom after the robbers left the scene,” Mr Latin stated.
He said some vigilante members later came to their rescue and they were taken to Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu for medical treatment.
He said the matter has been reported to the police and thanked God for sparing their lives.

Davido’s signee, Mayorkun has confirmed that his boss didn’t only just brag about having N30bn in his account, saying indeed he has it or even more. In his recent chat with Potpourri on how much the Omo Baba Olowo is really worth, he said;
“First, we are our own artistes; we’re doing our own stuff,” he said, correcting the impression that artistes under DMW have been leveraging on the money and affluence of Davido to promote their respective music careers.
“Talking about the money, no be me sing ‘30billion for the account o’, so everybody knows the person that has the money and they know the people who are just trying to be heard. I’ve money of course, I’m making my own money but you can’t compare my money to Davido’s. Davido actually has as much as 30 billion, if not more than that; David is from a very wealthy family so don’t doubt it; we’re just street boys they’re trying to help”, he said.
Mercy Johnson has gone low. The delectable actress and mother of 3 has debuted a low-cut hairstyle, and she looks beyond beautiful in it.
Meanwhile, Mercy Johnson loves snug fits and wears them a lot thanks to her amazing figure.
The Nollywood actress loves body grazing pieces and she’s chosen styles around that in recent times. Apart from the fact that she has the enviable shape to pull of the fit in anything, her body is goals for outfits!
Known for her hourglass shape, the actress and mother of three has a body that stops people in their tracks and it’s refreshing to see how she has confidently embraced and dressed that body almost every single time (definitely every time she steps on the red carpet) to highlight her enviable frame.
No doubt the queen of snug fit with attention to details, her niptuck waist-usually the highlight of her fit- comes off smoothly done naturally (even if otherwise) she nails it.
To get the fit, she gets the support needed on the upper area which gives the flattering effect to the midriff that’s always ‘snatched’ seamless under any look and then works to balance out the lower part of the body which comes off more flattering especially with floor length pieces.
Her favourite style is the ‘mermaid’ fit that hugs her curve to perfection especially when it has a casual train, her second favourite is the peplum hem details that flatters anyway but this actress finds a way to make this trend accentuate her frame to perfection even when she sports casual bodytop her snug fit game is perfectly done, maybe a bit safe but it works for her everytime.
Phyno is still speaking on the Hushpuppi Drama. This time he spoke with Sunday Scoop where he had a few words to say concerning the drama.
Rapper, Phyno made headlines few weeks back, when Malaysian-Based Nigerian Big Boy, Ray Hushpuppi attacked him and Ice Prince, and accused them of wearing Fake Patek Wrist Watches.
He wrote: “If you don’t want people to patronise pirated copy (sic) of your work, don’t patronise pirated copy of other people’s work #Hypocrites.”
The drama was ugly.. You can catch up on the Gist Here, Here, Here and Here.
Having none of that, Phyno took to his Snapchat account to reply. In a series of posts, he wrote, “We are not on the same level. You live and die for Gucci. I will live and die for my people. The hunger is different here man…I’ve got cribs, live in my house, yet never posted it. Bought a house for my mum; never posted it. Got her a car on her birthday last two years; never posted it.”
Sunday Scoop caught up with the Igbo rapper and he stated that he had put the episode behind him.
“It is very childish to brag about what I have. I care more about touching lives in positive ways. It is not really about how much you have in your bank account but how many people’s lives you have made better. The good thing is that I have a track record and people know what I do. So it doesn’t really make sense for me to be exchanging words with someone who just came from nowhere and has no credibility whatsoever.”
Shedding some light on his background, Phyno said,
“I am happy for how far I have come. My father never wanted me to become an artiste because he felt it wasn’t a good profession. But I decided to stick to my guns and I have proved that one can also have a good life with music. Now, people call on me to mentor their children and that couldn’t have happened years ago. Nigerian music has gone global and the future looks even brighter.”
Now, a Nigerian Lawyer, Ayomide Adebayo-Oyetoro has written to Seyilaw to really watch his child.
Below is what she wrote;
‘I was obese as a child and I still am. And I’m not the only one. Research shows about one in five school aged children are obese. Parents close their eyes to this reality by claiming the child would outgrow it. It rarely happens.
Children should be fed right, properly and healthy. An obese child is open to a lot of health really risks. I know because I am speaking from experience.
Firstly, an obese child is prone to eating disorders. Most times, an obese child becomes an obese adult and becomes prone to eating disorders because she’d lack self-control to be able to say no to good food.
Another effect of child obesity is cardiac issues including but not limited to hypertension, asthma etc. I had asthma as a child and I still do as an adult. My attacks zigzag with my weight.
Lastly, another effect of child obesity is bone related diseases. An obese child is prone to bone ailments like arthritis, rheumatism. Tell an obese person to climb stairs and watch them thank you.
Sugarcoat it all you want, the effects are long lasting. From low self-esteem to depression.
Watch Tiwa’s weight biko! Thank you!

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said the Federal government is planning to stop entertainers from shooting movies and music videos outside Nigeria.
According to the Minister, conducting shoots outside Nigeria does not help grow our economy but rather, it helps grow that of the country where such shoots are being done.
Lai disclosed this when he paid a visit to the headquarters of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) today July 15th.
“This government has agreed that henceforth, whatever we consume in Nigeria in terms of music and films, must be made in Nigeria. One of Africa’s Finest Comedian, and Guinness Book of World’s Record holder, Comedian Ayo Makun has schooled a follower who dared to correct him.
Apparently, the comedian while promoting his new movie, 10 days to Suncity, commended Actress, Adeusa Etomi on the role she played in the movie.
Makun wrote; “If you want to enjoy a good actor that is gifted with the ability to bring something unique to the table, go catch @adesuaetomi playing ‘Bianca’ in 10 DAYS IN SUN CITY today.. showing in cinemas”.
The follower then responded; “Did you mean actress?”,
Ay of course reponded, he wrote: “In trying to correct me, you also now have an opportunity to learn from me. lol. The word actor refers to a person who acts regardless of gender, while actress refers specifically to a female person who acts; therefore a female can be referred to by either term. “Actor” can be used for both sexes. But I appreciate your concern”

A 38-year-old man, Tunde Bankole, has been remanded in a Lagos Prison after he was arrested and dragged to court for reportedly raping his neighbour’s wife.
The incident happened at True Crescent in Oko-Oba area of Agege, Lagos, after the suspect reportedly had a quarrel with the victim’s husband and he later decided to hit back at the husband by allegedly raping his 36-year-old wife.
Tunde reportedly stormed his neighbour’s house when he wasn’t at home with two kitchen knives threatening to kill his neighbour’s wife if she refused to remove her clothes, lie on her matrimonial bed, open her legs and allow him rape her. After he had penetrated her to his satisfaction, he reportedly collected her wedding ring and left.
However Tunde was arrested after the victim told her husband what happened when he wasn’t around. Tunde who never denied having sex with the victim at the Police Station, however argued that it all happened with her consent, but failed to explain what he was doing with the knives he reportedly used in threatening the victim.
The Presiding Magistrate at Ogba Magistrates court, Mr T.O. Shomade granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in the like sums, while stating he will remain in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition, as the matter was further adjourned till 17 August 2017.
A NYSC member, Eva,who serves in Lagos, has sent people talking after she showed off her boobs and underwear while wearing her uniform.
Absolutely no respect for this once respected uniform anymore.
Meanwhile, a Jos Upper Area Court on Thursday dissolved the marriage between 27-year-old Rukayat Ahmed, an NYSC member, and Alkasim Ahmed, following a petition filed by the former.
Rukayat, a resident of Jos, had approached the court seeking the dissolution of the marriage on the grounds that she was no more in love with Alkasim.
The woman, who filed a direct complaint to the court, argued that such separation was permissible in Islamic law,
“if the partners are no more in love and therefore unwilling to live together”.
When the case was mentioned on May 25, the husband did not object to Rukayat’s demand.
At the resumption of hearing on the matter on Thursday, the Judge, Yahaya Ahmed, endorsed the separation of the couple and ordered the petitioner to refund the N80,000 paid as dowry by her husband, as applicable in Islamic law.
Rukayat promptly paid the money and walked away a free woman.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has officially denounced his Christian name, Matthew, and has also sounded a loud warning to Nigerians never to address him by the name or risk seeing the bad side of him.
According to him, he took the decision to denounce the name because Matthew in the Bible was a ‘stupid’ tax collector.
The former president made the statement on Friday at an event organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in commemoration of his 80th birthday celebration in Abuja.
Obasanjo explained that he adopted only Olusegun Okikiola Aremu as his names because they have lots of connotations in the African setting.
When I was born in my part of Nigeria, the system was that after eight days, you must be given a name and for people to know that you were born into a Christian family, you will be given one Hebrew name.
My mother and father decided to name me Matthew but when I grew up, I started asking myself the meaning of Matthew. Not only does it not have meaning as long as I am concerned, the biblical Matthew is a stupid tax collector. Anybody who does not want to see my eyes red should stop calling me Matthew?
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been sighted sleeping during a State Banquet in Rivers.
The banquet which was in honour of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai, held at the Government House in Port-Harcourt on Thursday night.
Note that, this is not the first time the Governor will be caught dozing off at public functions. He has been one-time called out by Sahara Reporter for this same reason.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has re-affirmed that he no longer bears ‘Matthew’ as one of his names again. He said this yesterday at an event to mark his 80th birthday celebration by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in Abuja.
Obasanjo Aremu Okikiola, as fully known when he was the president of Nigeria revealed that he had to drop the biblical name – Matthew in spite of the deeds of the character portrayed in the Christian’s concordance, bible.
At the event, he however warned being called the name so as not invoke his wrath.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo
“When I was born, my mother and father decided to name me Matthew. I grew up being called and addressed Matthew. What is the meaning of Matthew in the Bible? He was a tax collector,” he said. “So, when I grew up, I dropped Matthew from my name. If anyone does not want to see my eyes red, no one should call me Matthew again. People ask, what is in a name? For me, there is so much in a name.” “A doctor’s mistake often leads to the death of one patient,” he said. “A lawyer’s mistake leads to the client going to jail. But if an engineer makes a mistake that leads to the collapse of a bridge or house, many people would lose their lives. “That is why engineers must be very careful and must be efficient not to allow mistakes to be made”, the former President stated.
Obasanjo ruled Nigeria as the president for two consecutive tenures between 1999 and 2007.
A housewife, Mrs Bukola Ogun, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly staging her own kidnap with the intention of extorting money from her husband, and to also make the man, who is an American citizen, relocate her to the Unites States.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude, who was speaking during the parade of 12 arrested suspects in the state at the Police Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, said the 37-year-old businesswoman, had conspired with a two-man gang, among whom was his cousin, Kayode Adepoju, to orchestrate her own kidnap in order to fraudulently obtain money from her husband.
The police boss said the incident happened at about 7:45p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, when three armed hoodlums stormed the residence of the supposed victim and ‘kidnapped’ her to an unknown destination.
“Barely four hours later, the suspects contacted the victim’s husband, demanding for N10million as ransom as a condition for his wife’s release.
“Unknown to the husband that the kidnap was actually arranged by his wife, he reported the case to the police, and upon the receipt, operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) began a manhunt for the hoodlums.
“During intensive investigation, two suspects were arrested, and they let the cat out of the bag, as operatives were stunned to discover that the victim was the architect of the fake kidnap.
“The woman, for the three days she was away, lodged in a hotel at Imalefalafia area, Ibadan, while efforts were on to rescue her, but after two of the suspects were eventually arrested in their criminal hideout at Imalefalafia area, they confessed to the crime and the mastermind was arrested,” the police boss said.
However, while speaking, the woman, Mrs Ogun, said she called her cousin, Kayode, informing him that she wanted her husband to relocate her to the United States, so wanted to stage her own kidnap so after her rescue, her husband would be left with no option than to send her abroad.
“So I left home on Tuesday, July 4, and returned on Thursday, July 6, acting as if I was kidnapped.
It was then that my husband started calling about that I had been kidnapped before finally informing the police.
“Everything is still like a child’s play; he is an American citizen and I just wanted him to relocate me to the US. I told the gang to demand for N10million from my husband; I knew he could not afford that kind of money, but just for the whole plan to look real.
“And within the three days I was away, I lodged myself in a hotel, but I regret everything now,” Mrs Ogun, who had been married to her husband for six years with two children, said.
While speaking on his role in the whole case, Mrs Ogun’s cousin, Kayode, said the woman just called her one day, informing him that she wanted to stage her own kidnap so that her husband would agree to relocate her to the United States since he is a citizen.
“So she told me to find one of my friends who has a car and we would come to her house in the evening of the day we wanted to stage the kidnap.
“When we even got to her house, she was the one who walked out herself and entered the car we brought, and we took her to the hotel where she lodged for three days.
“After that, we called her husband, asking for N10million ransom, just to make the whole plan look real, but we didn’t collect anything from him.
“However, I was arrested the following day after she returned home; policemen came to my office to arrest me, and we had no option than to tell the police the truth,” Kayode said.
The Oyo police boss, however, said that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as possible so as to serve as a less to others who might be planning such stunts.
